According to Olaus Petri, he would have been a younger son of King Sverker I of Sweden and father of Ingrid Ylva. In surviving contemporary documents one Sune Sik can be found who lived much later. That Sune Sik made a donation to Vreta Abbey as late as in 1297.

The early 1950s bolstered the Cherryville tradition of community involvement in and support of the high school: Cherryville High School met requirements to become a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1951. The Cherryville Woman's Club made a donation towards additional equipment for the library. In 1952 a CHS Parent-Teacher Association was formed. When the latin school in Køge closed in 1776, it was a great loos of prestige for the town amdaspiring students now had to go to Roskilde, Næstved of Copenhagen to study. A new school, Borgerskolen, opened in 1808. It was based in the old provost's house, Provstegården, at the corner of Nørregade and Katekismusgade. In 1826, Thomas Tøxen, a wealthy merchant with no children, made a donation of 15,000 Danish rigsdaler for the establishment of a "higher school" in Køge.
Ruins of Vaux- de-Cernay today Guy became abbot of Vaux-de-Cernay in 1181. In 1190, King Philip II of France made a donation to the abbey in which he referred to Guy as "our familiaris". He seems to have fallen from favour soon after, since there was no further royal patronage to Vaux-de-Cernay until 1209. It is most likely that Guy sided with the church against the king when the latter pursued a divorce from Ingeborg in 1193.

Mr. Sarraf's design was developed into working drawings by the architectural firm of Morris Verger and Associates. Construction of the project began on December 29, 1991. Colston's School on St Augustine's Back Colston made a donation to Queen Elizabeth's Hospital in 1702 and proposed endowing places for a further 50 boys. This came to nothing, probably because of Colston's insistence that the children of Dissenters should be excluded. Instead, he persuaded the Society of Merchant Venturers to manage a school he established for 50 boys on Saint Augustine's Back, where the Colston Hall now stands. It cost him £11,000 on capital cost and an endowment income of over £1,300.
In 1192 he made a donation to St. Paul's Abbey. Ulrich II came of age to rule independently from 1194 and, like his father, remained a loyal supporter of the Imperial Hohenstaufen dynasty. When Emperor Henry VI called for the German Crusade in 1195, the Carinthian duke was among the many nobles who undertook to go, even though he had scarcely reached adulthood. Starting in March 1197 these nobles with their troops left from the south of Italy and Sicily.
The Noto Kokubun-ji burned down after its pagoda caught fire due to lightning in 883. It reappeared briefly in 1532, when records indicate that Hatakeyama Yoshifusa, lord of Nanao Castle made a donation of one koku of rice to the temple, but disappeared from the historical record soon thereafter. The site is now a public historical park, where visitors can see the foundations of the Nara period buildings, and with reconstructions of some of the gates and walls of the temple complex.

In December 1147, possibly after Muño's death, Lupa, calling herself Deo devota (devoted to God), made a donation to the Cistercian monks of Monfero Abbey on the condition that they would say a mass for her soul and her husband's annually on 30 September, the day after Michaelmas. She had previously patronised Monfero in July 1137 and would again in August 1150.

Hallie Brown Ford (March 17, 1905 - June 4, 2007) was an American business person and philanthropist. A native of Oklahoma, she acquired her wealth in Oregon through the timber industry. As a philanthropist she made donations to many institutions in Oklahoma and Oregon to support education and the arts. Shortly before her death in 2007, she made a donation of $15 million to the Pacific Northwest College of Art, the largest single donation to any cultural group in Oregon history.

Sagrada Familia de Lemitar Church, Los Dulces Nombres (Lemitar Church) is a historic church off Interstate 25 in Lemitar, New Mexico. It was constructed in the early 1830s and has been renovated and added to several times thereafter. Work in around 1900 gave the adobe building a pitched, metal roof and clear glass windows; in 1950 Conrad Hilton made a donation which, with funds raised by parishioners, paid for stained glass windows and wooden flooring. The present facade and bell towers were added in 1963.

When Tommy Steele was performing in a show in Liverpool in 1981, he made an offer to Liverpool City Council to create a sculpture as a tribute to the Beatles. His fee for the commission would be three pence. The offer was accepted by the Council, as it would be expected to increase the tourist trade of the city, and they made a donation of £4,000 towards its cost. The statue took nine months to make, and it was unveiled by Tommy Steele on 3 December 1982.
In 1924 Minns made a substantial donation of $50,000 in honour of Mary Hancock, her great grandmother, to the Harvard Botanical Museum. Minns, when initially proposing this donation, explained to Oakes Ames that she was donating her great grandmother's twenty dollar gold piece. A note with an anti-Semitic message had been left at the scene. Crowe called school officials to express his concern and wanted his message relayed to the students. The school's building fund received donations from throughout Canada and the amount of Crowe's donation was not disclosed.

The first reference to a Waldbröl citizen was in a document of 1212, when a priest named Wolradu resided there and made a donation to St. Michael's abbey in the Berg county. The Darrell Awards were founded in 1996 by the Memphis Science Fiction Association (MSFA) and are now sponsored by the Darrell Awards Jury. They were named in honor of Dr. Darrell C. Richardson, a member of First Fandom and one of the founding members of MSFA. Darrell, who was most well known for his involvement in Edgar Rice Burroughs fandom, much approved of the honor and made a donation to MSFA in support of the effort. In 1997, the first two Darrell Awards were presented at Midsouthcon, held that year in Tunica, Mississippi.

The Stuttgart Peace Prize () is an annual award of 5000 Euros made by the non governmental organization ("The Instigators") to people or projects involved "in a special way for peace, justice and world solidarity". Voting is open to all who have won either the Foundation or the instigators Stuttgart Peace Prize in the year in question, those who have made a donation before the election or are supporting members. Each voter has three votes, and may give a proposal per vote or distribute their votes over existing proposals.
Several donors to Tilton's television ministry sued Tilton in 1992–1993, charging various forms of fraud. One plaintiff, Vivian Elliott, won $1.5 million in 1994 when it was discovered that a family crisis center for which she had made a donation (and recorded an endorsement testimonial) was never built or even intended to be built. It also houses Lafayette's second library, with a collection of over 30,000 volumes related to government and law. It was the first of many buildings to be named after philanthropist Fred Morgan Kirby after he made a donation of 1,000 shares of stock in the F. W. Woolworth Company, of which he was co-founder and vice-president.

Although the division of Clann Somairle territories is uncertain, it is possible that Dubgall held Lorne on the mainland, and the Mull group of islands in the Hebrides.
In 1888 Smyth resigned as Astronomer Royal in protest at the chronic under-funding and age of his equipment. This brought events to a head and the Royal Observatory was almost closed when James Lindsay, Earl of Crawford made a donation of new astronomical instruments and the complete Bibliotheca Lindesiana in order that a new observatory could be founded. Thanks to this donation, the new Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill was opened in 1896. After his resignation, Smyth retired to the neighbourhood of Ripon, where he remained until his death.
In February 1117 Alfonso made a donation to Santa María la Real de Nájera calling himself Imperator and still claiming the kingdoms of Urraca. The donation was confirmed by Diego López, along with Pedro González de Lara and Suero Vermúdez, several bishops and many Aragonese. The charter is in the style of the Leonese chancery and its authenticity has been called into question, but it may reflect a moment of heightened negotiations between Alfonso and Urraca. It cannot be taken to reflect a desertion on the part of her major supporters (Diego, Pedro and Suero).

As a relative of the king, he was supported by the royal power, but being a minor on his father's death, one Audelais managed to usurp the duchy. Liutprand removed Audelais and, placing another nephew, Gregory, on the throne, brought Gisulf back to be raised in the royal palace at Pavia. In 744, Gisulf made a donation of land to the Abbey of Montecassino which would become the basis for the Terra Sancti Benedicti.

The fatwa allowed theft and racketeering on the condition that the perpetrators pay the requisite khums to Sadrist imams, saying that "looters could hold on to what they had appropriated so long as they made a donation (khums) of one-fifth of its value to their local Sadrist office." The fatwa alienated many older members of his father's movement, as well as mainstream Shiites, and the Shia establishment and property-owning classes from the Sadrists. However, the fatwa strengthened his popularity among the poorest members of society, notably in Sadr City.

In 946, he allied with Landulf II of Benevento in an invasion of Salerno with the intent of deposing Prince Gisulf I. They were defeated by an army of Mastalus I of Amalfi and John retired to Naples. Landulf turned around and joined with Gisulf in attacking the Neapolitan duchy. They took Nola. In 949, John made a donation to the church of Saints Severinus and Sossus, which had possibly been founded by one of his predecessors.
The Old French translator of Amatus of Montecassino calls him Gazoline de la Blace. Geoffrey Malaterra calls him Gocelinus de Orencho, which may mean that he belonged to the Hareng family. He has even been identified with a certain Joscelin de Hareng, who prevented a young Robert Guiscard from physically attacking his elder brother, Count Humphrey of Apulia, during a heated argument in the early 1050s. On 26 June 1066 in Molfetta, Joscelin and his son-in-law, Amicus, made a donation to the monastery of the Santissima Trinità in Venosa.
Glorya Kaufman Hall at UCLA In 1994, Kaufman made a donation for the construction of the 10,040-square-foot Donald Bruce Kaufman branch of the Los Angeles Public Library in Brentwood, Los Angeles. In 1999, Kaufman donated US$18 million to the University of California, Los Angeles, which named Glorya Kaufman Hall in her honor. However, she admitted to being disappointed in the way UCLA handled her donation. In 2009, Kaufman donated US$20 million to the Los Angeles Music Center to establish the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance series.
At the end of that decade, however, a revitalization process began to restore the park's former beauty and popularity. Congressman W. R. On 26 June 1066 in Molfetta, Amicus and his father-in-law made a donation to the Abbey of the Santissima Trinità in Venosa. He also possessed lands in Campomarino that he gave to the Abbey of Santa Maria a Mare in the Tremiti Islands. Amicus' family was active in the conquest of Apulia. His cousin, Peter II, took Trani in 1054, and his cousin, Geoffrey, took Taranto in 1063 and Otranto in 1064.
In 1984, Blockson donated his collection of cultural artifacts from African-American history to Temple University. The Charles L. Blockson Afro- American Collection, has since expanded further and now contains more than 500,000 books, documents, and photographs. He has contributed items to the Charles L. Blockson Collection of African-Americana and the African Diaspora at the Pennsylvania State University and the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NAAMHC). He made a donation to the NAAMHC, which included 39 items owned by Harriet Tubman that were bequeathed to him by her grand-niece.
The first history of Duke University traces back to its founding in 1838 in Trinity, North Carolina. Much to the dislike of the Methodist preachers, under the leadership of the college's President John F. Crowell, Washington Duke made a donation to the college large enough to build a new campus in Durham, North Carolina and move the college. The family of Pedro's wife, Sancha Gómez, is also unclear. She is known by name only from a charter of their daughter Countess Urraca, in which the latter granted some lands she had inherited from both parents to the Diocese of Burgos in 1173.Urraca refers to herself in this charter as filia comitis Petri Lopez de Monfort. A certain "countess Sancha" (Santia comitissa) made a donation to the monastery of San Salvador de Oña on 19 December 1135 along with her sister Estefanía and brother Rodrigo Gómez.
With his wife Muniadona he made many donations to religious establishments, especially to the Monastery of San Vicente de Oviedo and to the city's cathedral. He and his wife Muniadona founded several monasteries, including San Miguel de Trevías in 1000 and also the Monastery of Santa Marina. He last appears in medieval charters on 29 September 1011 and must have died between that date and 18 July of the following year when his widow Muniadona made a donation to the cathedral mentioning "" (Roughly: "in steadfast memory of my husband, Gundemar").

Lope married Ticlo (Tecla) Díaz, daughter of a certain Diego Álvarez, possibly Diego Álvarez de Ayala, who ruled Asturias de Santillana,This was the suggestion of Juan Antonio Llorente, based on the numerous donations the couple made in the Valle de Mena, where many of Diego's interests lay. but more probably Diego Álvarez de Oca. Their marriage took place before 1079, when the couple made a donation to San Millán.

Established in October 1998, the SouthCare helicopter service participated in a major maritime rescue operation in December of that year when the 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race fleet encountered severe weather conditions, resulting in the loss of 6 lives and 5 yachts. The SouthCare crews rescued nine sailors from two stricken vessels, Stand Aside and Midnight Special. As recognition for their role in the rescue, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia made a donation of $20,000 to the service in 2002. In 1999, Canberra International Airport signed a five-year agreement to allow SouthCare to operate from the airport exempt from rent.

He also supervised ecclesiastical life in the region of Ávila, where a document of 1103 in which some men of Ávila made a donation to the Castilian monastery of San Millán de Cogolla, even refers to him as "bishop of Ávila" (episcopus Abelensis).

In 1967, Swope made a donation of securities valued at $650,000 to the Carnegie Institution of Washington to develop "optical astronomical observatory facilities in the Southern Hemisphere." This gift was used for development of the site, including roads, water, and power systems, and for building a 40-inch telescope at Carnegie's Las Campanas Observatory in Chile. This telescope was named the Swope Telescope in her honor; it started operation in 1971 and is still used today. Swope also left most of her estate to Carnegie to support further Las Campanas and astronomical research at the institution more generally.
In the aftermath of Hazel, a three-day period of national mourning was declared in Haiti for hurricane victims. With existing infrastructure already poor, the recovery was very slow since many of the few existing roads were blocked, and communications equipment was either out, damaged, or destroyed. The Haitian Red Cross appealed for assistance to the International Red Cross, while the American Red Cross made a donation of $25,000 (1954 USD). Pan American World Airways offered the use of its planes to assist with the delivery of aid, and the US aircraft carrier USS Saipan deployed 18 helicopters to help deliver supplies.
Dedicated in 1920, the park was among the first 25 established by the Michigan State Parks Commission, which referred to it as both Cedar Hills State Park and Adrian State Park. It was renamed in 1930 after the family of Michigan State Senator Walter J. Hayes made a donation of land with the stipulation that the name change take place. The Civilian Conservation Corps made improvements to the park during the 1930s.
In the province of Leon, around 3,000 deaths are recorded due to the repression, and a good number of these came from the dungeons of San Marcos. The origins of this building lie in the twelfth century, in the days of Alfonso VII of León. His sister, the Infanta Sancha of Castile, made a donation in July 1152 to construct a modest building on the outskirts of the walled city, on the banks of the Bernesga river, where "the poor of Christ" could stay. This would be a hospital-temple of shelter for pilgrims travelling the Camino de Santiago.

The first alleged indiscretion related to debating and voting on a development application before Council from the hotelier George Thomas who had allegedly made a donation to support Mallard's re-election to Council. Using parliamentary privilege, Lee Rhiannon, a Greens Member of NSW Legislative Council, accused Mallard of a second indiscretion by receiving illegal donations through provision of rent by a third party during the 2008 local government election campaign. Mallard asked the matters be referred to the NSW Department of Local Government for investigation.

By 744, his daughter Bertrada of Laon had married Pippin the Younger, mayor of the palace of Neustria and Burgundy and later king of the Franks.
This anonymous count may have been Gutierre. or perhaps Gómez Núñez.. Sometime between 1127 and 1129 he made a further donation to the Benedictines of Lourenzá, and in 1128 to the military order of the Templars. In February 1129 Gutierre exchanged all his estates in the Asturias with his brother Suero for all of the latter's lands in Galicia. By a charter dated 30 October 1130, his last known public act, Gutierre made a donation of the monastery of San Salvador de Villafrío to the Cathedral of Saint Mary in Lugo, then under construction under the master builder Raimundo de Monforte.
Of uncertain origins, Gonzalo may have been the son of Pelayo Peláez and Mumadonna (Mayor) González. The only link is a charter of 1097 by which a certain Mummadonna cognomento domna Maiore Gundesaluiz ("Mumadonna called lady Mayor González") made a donation to the Diocese of Oviedo for the good of her soul and that of her husband, Pelayo Peláez, making reference to their son named Gonzalo.Barton (1997), 259 n2. On 18 November 1118 a Gonzalo Peláez, perhaps not the same man, received lands in the Araduey valley in the province of León from Queen Urraca along with his wife Mayor Muñoz.
When he made a donation to the priory of Rompont on 31 January 1202, the day of his son Guillaume's birth, he asked God to preserve his child's life so that he could work for the glory and good of the church. Ademar sought to take more control of local lands from William of Savoy, bishop of Valence. Silvion of Crest sought the support of the bishop against Ademar, and the bishop led forces which captured many of Ademar's men. There was an initial peace treaty in 1227, with a more final treaty concluded in 1231.
Since 2016, John Jordan has not made any monetary donation to an individual politician. His contract as an economist and national security analyst on television prohibits him from doing so. Jordan attends the Republic National Convention every four years to lobby for two areas that he is passionate about: inequality of opportunity for all human beings and national security issues with regards to China and Russia. As is customary in either political party, attendees are expected to make a donation to the national committee for the convention, and Jordan made a donation in 2019 to participate in the Republican National Convention.

In 1972 there was media speculation that the SAU was funded by the Soviet Union and controlled by a hidden network of adult activists.

Razorlight were due to perform for BBC Children in Need 2008, but were forced to cancel due to Borrell suffering with vocal problems. The band made a donation to the charity. After months of working on new material, some of which was written by Borrell on the island of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Razorlight released their third studio album, Slipway Fires, on 3 November 2008 with the lead single, Wire to Wire, released on 20 October 2008. On 23 March 1097 Alfonso VI, probably at Sahagún, where he had spent Christmas, made a large donation to Bishop Martin which was confirmed by most of the major court figures. Martin remained with the court through Easter (5 April) and was present in León on 14 April when Alfonso made a donation to the Cathedral of León.Bernard F. The other sister was Catherine (Kantakuzina Katarina Branković or Katarina of Celje), who was married to Ulrich II, Count of Celje (1406-1456). "The Byzantine Lady: Ten Portraits 1250–1500" (1994) by D. M. Nicol questioned her maternity, suggesting Đurađ had a prior marriage to a daughter of John IV of Trebizond. However his theory presented no sources and failed to take into account that John IV was born between 1395 and 1417. He would be unlikely to be a grandparent by the 1410s. On 11 September 1429, Đurađ made a donation to Esphigmenou Monastery at Mount Athos.
In May 1195 Hugh associated his son Hugh III with him as count, but Hugh died the next year (1196). The elder Hugh, now an old man, appointed his fifth son, William, co-ruler in 1196. Hugh II and William made a donation to the abbey of Bonnecombe, the text of which, in Occitan, still survives. William predeceased his father in 1208 and Hugh II was succeeded by his only son by his second wife, Henry I. Hugh had been a great patron of troubadours, most famously Uc Brunenc, who composed a planh (lament) on his death.

She was a major supporter of the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, which named one of its theatres in her honour in March 1983 after she made a donation to help renovate the 876-seat theatre where the Canadian Stage Company (CanStage) performs.
On 3 February 1137 Rodrigo made a donation to Segovia Cathedral. Shortly after, for reasons unknown, Rodrigo fell from favour and was exiled. W. Max Decker became the first formal AAVMC employee in 1977 when he became a part-time director and treasurer of the organization. The organization began to receive corporate support in 1965, when Merck Chemical Division made a donation of $10,000. The three-Council structure of AAVMC was eliminated in 1984, and the organization was restructured to include a board of directors and an executive committee. Billy Hooper, former associate dean for academic affairs at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, became the full-time executive director and helped create a permanent office in Washington D.C. in 1986.
It has subsequently become known that the best book of Northern Rock's mortgage business, comprising mortgages worth £47 billion – some 40% of the company's assets – had been transferred to a Channel Islands based company called Granite, together with an ongoing obligation to continue to supply business. On February 12, 2013, the Oakland University Board of Trustees approved a $65 million investment in campus expansion and improvement projects. Completed in the fall of 2014, projects included: construction of a nearly $30 million student housing complex; dramatic enhancement of outdoor recreation and athletic fields; construction of a 1,240-space parking structure, and; construction of new headquarters for facility and grounds maintenance operations. Longtime supporters of the university, Hugh and Nancy Elliott, made a donation to construct the Elliott Tower on the campus. The 151-foot carillon tower was completed in fall 2014 and houses the last bells to be cast by the Royal Bellfoundry Petit & Fritsen of the Netherlands.

Hildeprand was the Duke of Spoleto from 774 to 789. When Theodicius of Spoleto died fighting at the Siege of Pavia in 774, the Lombards of the Duchy of Spoleto elected Hildeprand their duke and quickly submitted to the Franks. Hildeprand fled to Rome before the Frankish host and did homage to Pope Hadrian I. However, the dispute between Charlemagne and Hadrian as to who had the proper suzerainty over Spoleto was solved in the Frank's favour over the next few years. In January 776, Hildeprandus gloriosus et summus dux ducatus Spoletani made a donation to the Abbey of Farfa dating it to the year of Charles' reign.

One Million Meals for Families in Need Through this initiative, The Women's Conference made a donation to The California Association of Food Banks to provide more than one million meals to California families in need. In January 1211, Sancha donated the church of Villarroañe to the monastery of Santa María de Carracedo for the sake her soul and that of her late husband. It was witnessed by four of her sons: Ramiro Fróilaz, Diego Fróilaz, Rodrigo Fróilaz and Bermudo Fróilaz. On 9 February 1212, Sancha granted her possessions in Tibianes and Pereiro to the monastery of Sobrado, which was witnessed by her sons Ramiro and Diego. On 29 August 1230, Sancha and her children Ramiro, Diego, Rodrigo and Teresa made a donation the monastery of Sandoval on behalf of the souls of Froila and a certain Bernardo, a son of Froila's and Sancho.

In 1896, Sir William Macdonald made a donation to McGill University in order to construct a new building on campus to hold the university’s chemistry department. Sir Andrew Taylor, who had previously designed multiple buildings on McGill's campus, including the Redpath Library (1893), Macdonald Physics Building (1893) and Montreal Diocesan Theological College (1895), was hired to be the building's architect along with his partners at the time, Morley Hogle and Huntley Davis. The Macdonald Chemistry Building within 5 years after the date of its construction. The building was originally called the Macdonald Chemistry Building but was recently renamed Macdonald-Harrington after Bernard J. Harrington, McGill’s first chemistry professor.
In 1191, Countess Beatrice of Albon, who was married to Hugh III, Duke of Burgundy, signed a pact with Guillaume de Clérieu l'Abbé against Adémar. In 1192, Adémar confirmed a donation the count of Toulouse made at Léoncel, and in 1196 he granted the town a charter of liberties. In 1193, on the occasion of the consecration of the church of Montmeyran by Bishop Falco of Valence, the count of Valentinois granted it and its prior, Ponce, some of his vassals, without effecting the freedoms and exemptions they enjoyed under him. In 1197 Adémar and Philippa made a donation to the charterhouse of Bonnefoy, which her father had founded in 1156.
Flacinus, Flacino, or Flagino was the Bishop of Oviedo between 909 and 912, possibly from as early as 907 until as late as 914. His predecessor was Gomelo II and he first appears in a document of the latter's episcopate, on 20 January 905, signing as both a presbyter and a primicerius ("Flacinus presbyter, Primicerius testis"). The earliest evidence of his episcopate is a pair of charters for Sahagún (dated 28 April and 28 May 909) in which he signs as Placinius without reference to his see. In 912 when García I made a donation to San Ciprián Flacinus signed as a witness, but again without reference to his see.

When the archbishop Diego Gelmírez threatened to excommunicate Rodrigo, the count swore on the Gospels that he had no part in his knights' actions, that he would confiscate the fiefs he had bestowed on those knights, and that he would arrest and hand over to the diocese any peasants who had taken part in the outrage.Barton, 217. The purpose of the public humiliation imposed by Diego was, according to the Historia, to instill fear in Rodrigo's fellow magnates, so that they would not dare commit such acts again. For the remission of his sins, Rodrigo made a donation to the archdiocese of his castle at Faro.

Durand led an initiative to organise chamber music concerts, and sometimes even orchestral music concerts, to promote the authors of his publishing house's catalogue: in 1910, 1911, 1912 and 1913 and later in 1927. In 1924, Durand made a major donation of Claude Debussy's musical manuscripts to the library of the Conservatoire de Paris. Durand was also a patron of musicians; in 1927, he made a donation of 100,000 francs to the Académie des beaux-arts to establish a biennual musical composition prize for a symphonic or chamber music work. His untimely death in 1928 prevented him from seeing the realisation of this gift.
Methodism was brought to Barbados in 1788 by Dr Thomas Coke, a driving force behind early Methodist missionary activity. By 1793, Methodists were often viewed by the Barbadian upper classes as anti-slavery agitators and Methodist missionaries regarded as agents of the England-based Anti-Slavery Society. Gill was a Free Coloured and a member of this church in Barbados. In his "Methodism: 200 Years in Barbados", author Francis Woodbine Blackman wrote that the first record of her association with Methodism was in 1819 when she made a donation of ten pounds sterling towards the building of the first Methodist chapel in Bridgetown, which was to be constructed of stone.
The Ampex Golden Reel Award was an international music award for studio albums and singles that were recorded and mixed entirely on Ampex audio tape, and which subsequently sold enough units to achieve gold record status in its country of origin. In the United States, gold record status requires sales of 500,000 units, as verified by the Recording Industry Association of America. When an album or single won the award, one Golden Reel commemorative plaque was given to the musical group/artist, and another to the recording studio. Ampex also made a donation to a charity chosen by the group or artist who received the award.

Upon graduating from Dartmouth College, Tuck made a donation of one dollar to the College for "unrestricted use." After his college roommate and longtime friend, William Jewett Tucker, became president of Dartmouth, Edward Tuck became one of Dartmouth's most prolific benefactors. Tuck gave Tuck Drive, an aesthetic bypass and 3,800 ft private highway; the College President's House; the Tuck School, and it's grouping of buildings; art works from his private collection; and large cash contributions. In 1899, Tuck initially donated $300,000 — in the form of 1,700 shares of preferred stock in the Great Northern Railway Company of Minnesota — to Dartmouth to endow the Amos Tuck School of Administration and Finance, in memory of his father.
In 1985, Dr. David Chadwick founded the Center for Child Protection at the Children's Hospital of San Diego where he was director until his retirement in 1997. In 2001, the Children's Hospital of San Diego formed a partnership with the University of California-San Diego to unify pediatric patient care, research, education, and community service programs. In 2006, Ernest and Evelyn Rady made a donation of $60 million to Children's Hospital of San Diego, and the hospital was renamed Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego in their honor. The Rady family followed up with a gift of $120 million in 2014 to support the hospital's Institute for Genomic Medicine, and a pledge of $200 million in 2019.

It was long thought Ebles I was the son of Giselbert and to explain the appearance of the Ebles name in the house of Roucy, a daughter of the Duke of Aquitaine, William III “Towhead”, from the house of Poitiers. According to this hypothesisGenealogiciæ Scriptoris Fusniacensis names 'Lebaldus de Malla et…Iveta comitissa de Retest' as brother and sister of 'Ebalus de Roceio', this note also refers to a certain Mathilde, wife of Liéutad: 'Albericus de Cociaco…cum Adela uxore sua et matre eius Mathilde' who made a donation to the Abbey of Nogent-sous-Coucy (French Wikipedia) in 1059.
A document of 980 from León Cathedral refers to "Prince" Ramiro being in the seat of his country (sedis catedram patris) and the "lady" Tota ruling the city of Dueñas (iudicante ciui Domnas). Cf. Martínez Díez (2005), p. 542. The county disappears from contemporary records during its attachment to the crown, and it appears to have been incorporated into Castile after the tumultuous succession of Vermudo II in 985. The Castilian count García Fernández made a donation of the village of Santiago del Val in the county of Monzón to the monastery of San Isidro de Dueñas in the same county, indicating both his ability to dispose of Monzón's lands and his patronage of the church in Monzón.
On December 1, 1987 McLaughlin made a donation of art work from her personal collection of art works by other artists than herself to The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa. Some of these artists included Gerhard Richter, Prudence Heward, Louis Archambault, B. C. Binning, André Charles Biéler, Emil Bisttram, Emily Carr, Paraskeva Clark, Lyonel Feininger, Lawren Harris, A. Y. Jackson, Alexandra Luke, Peter Haworth, Bobs Cogill Haworth, Hans Hofmann, J. E. H. MacDonald, Anne Savage, Arthur Lismer, and Sarah Robertson among others. A second donation followed in 1990 which included many works by Jackson, Lismer and Housser. McLaughlin was the recipient of the Order of Ontario in 1993 and the Order of Canada in 1997.
A charter of 919 mentions that Saint Agricola had been buried in the Avignon church dedicated to Saint Peter (Saint-Pierre). At the end of the 11th century, Bishop Arbert of Avignon made a donation that referred to the abbey of Saint-Agricol; the church of Saint-Agricol (Saint Agricola) that seems to have been built in the 12th century was made collegial in 1321 by Pope John XXII, one of the Avignon- based popes, who equipped it with a statute and income. It is possible that on this occasion that the transfer of the relics of St. Agricola from the church of Saint-Pierre to Saint-Agricol occurred. They are still preserved in this church.

Subsequently, he donated a further 10 million Swiss Francs to turn the former medical clinic Garcia in Fribourg (next to the Perolles campus of the university) into the research facility that is now named after him, the Adolphe Merkle Institute. The by Swiss standards extraordinary donation was the highest private donation to a university in Switzerland to date. The Adolphe-Merkle-Foundation, which he foundend, is part of the institute council and promotes in many areas the institute's support of multilingualism or scientific awards.
McGill played football for the reserve team of then non-League side Wycombe Wanderers whilst at university in London. He grew up as a York City supporter and made a donation of £50,000 to the club while it was undergoing financial difficulties. He joined York City as a director after the Supporters' Trust completed their takeover of the club on 26 March 2003, eventually taking the role of managing director in September 2004 after Steve Beck resigned as chairman. McGill was heavily involved in negotiating the deal for York City to gain full control of Bootham Crescent, after over 99% of the shareholders of Bootham Crescent Holdings voted in favour of the deal in January 2005.
San Adrián de Vadoluengo today In 1133, Fortún and his wife Toda (or Tota) made a donation the Cluniac monastery of Santa María de Nájera and its prior, Peter. It consisted in a proprietary church dedicated to San Adrián and a heritable estate (heredad) at Vadoluengo, another church and heredad at Sangüesa, two heredades at Aibar and, most valuable of all, a grove (soto) at Alcatén, in territory that had recently been conquered from the Muslims. Fortún and Toda maintained lifetime rights (vitalicia) over the properties, and probably intended that they should form the basis of a new Cluniac dependency after his death. After his liberation, Fortún set about redeeming some of his properties from Leire.
In the same year (1137), he and Toda made a donation to their chaplain, a Frenchman named Peter, probably a Cluniac monk. The donation—a manor house (palacio) and heritable estate in the Burgo Nuevo of Sangüesa—were supposed to be the kernel of a new monastery that would make intercession with God on behalf of Fortún, his wife and late son and the kings Peter I (1094–1104) and Alfonso. In this chater, Fortún calls the late kings his relatives (parentes). The historian Gregorio de Balparda suggested that Fortún was a son of Urraca Garcés, daughter of King García Sánchez III of Pamplona, and her husband, Count García Ordóñez of Nájera.
Fernando was a younger son of Ponce de Cabrera, a Catalan baron who had emigrated to León, and María Fernández, daughter of Fernando Pérez de Traba and Sancha González. Between 1161 and 1163 a Fernando Ponce was the alférez (or signifer, standard-bearer) of Ferdinand II, but this was probably his elder brother of the same name, Fernando Ponce el Mayor. In 1163 Fernando Ponce made a donation to the Cathedral of Zamora and in 1164 to the Benedictine monstery of San Martín de Castañeda, though his later religious patronage would focus on the Cistercians. He made donations to their monasteries at Meira (1198) and Moreruela (1196), the latter founded by his father.
One grant to Albelda is dated to the time while "García Sánchez [was] reigning in Pamplona, [and] Fortún Galíndez in Nájera" (regnante Garsea Sancionis in Pampilona, Fortuni Galindonis in Nagera). On 15 April 958 a certain Muza and his sister Tota made a donation to Albelda while "king García Sánchez [was] reigning in Pamplona, and under him Fortún Galíndez in Néjera" (regnante [...] rex Garcia Sanciz in Pampilona, et sub eius Fortun Galindonis in Nagera). During the 950s Fortún makes frequent appearances with the ducal title. In one charter of 956 he is even referred to as Fertunius dux et abba ("duke and abbot"), though no other record exists for his holding an abbacy.
Between 1201 and 1213 she and her husband issued numerous charters in their joint names. In 1206, she, with the consent of her husband and eldest son, granted a house and some land in Acre to the Teutonic Knights. In 1207, with her husband's consent, she made a donation to the Order of the Hospital of a house and three carucates at Capharlet and the casalia (extended casale) of Pharaon and Seingibis (Khirbat Nisf Jubail) for the salvation of her parents' souls. Her family had a long relationship with the Hospitallers, which she continued by joining the order as a lay sister (consoror) with the right to be buried in the Hospitaller cemetery.

The Associated Press reported that a memorandum they had obtained showed that state regulators later agreed to fast-track a decision regarding the permit, despite environmental concerns from local residents. According to a businessman who lives near the proposed mine, regulators arrived within days of a meeting between Herbert and the coal company, and they felt pressure to make a quick decision. A Utah regulator said that this was not the case and that Herbert did not make any orders about whether to issue a permit. There is an odd surviving charter dated 6 January 1165 by which Gómez made a donation to the Benedictine monastery at Jubia "for the remedy of the souls of my father and brother, the already deceased count Fernando González",Original Latin: ob remedium anime patris mei et fratris mei iam defuncti comitis Fernandi Gundisaluit. though his brother was still living as late as 26 December that year. The charter is probably mis-dated, but the correct date is unknown.
Porta Speciosa with a depiction of Nunio and Alodio, whose relics were once revered there (11th century). The Monastery of San Salvador of Leyre is a religious complex to the south of the Sierra of Leyre, in northern Navarre, Spain, representing one of the most important historical monasteries of Spain. The oldest records of the site date from 842, when Íñigo Arista, considered the first king of Pamplona, and Wilesindo, Bishop of Pamplona, made a donation to the monastery. The monastery grew in importance thereafter, acquiring numerous properties and wealth during the first and middle stages of the Kingdom of Navarre, thanks to the privileges and donations made by the Navarrese kings.
Upon hearing of a threat to close down the Edinburgh Royal Observatory,The Royal observatory, Edinburgh in 1888 Crawford made a donation of astronomical instruments and his books on mathematics and the physical sciences from the Bibliotheca Lindesiana in order that a new observatory could be founded.Lord Crawford's donation of books and instruments Thanks to this donation, the new Royal Observatory, Edinburgh was opened on Blackford Hill in 1896. As well as much astronomical equipment, Crawford's observatory included an extensive collection of rare books, part of the Bibliotheca Lindesiana at Haigh Hall, which his father and he had accumulated till it was one of the most impressive private collections in Britain at the time.
In 2016, Gores launched FlintNOW, an organization designed to raise up to $10 million to provide relief to residents of Flint, Michigan affected by the city's water crisis. Since 2009, Gores has donated toys to children in Detroit and Flint through the Toys for Tots program. Other Detroit area organizations to which Gores has given substantial support include the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy and S.A.Y Detroit. At the conclusion of the Pistons 2018-2019 season he made a donation of $255,000 to S.A.Y Detroit which was the result of a pledge Gores made during the annual radiothon to donate $5,000 for every Pistons win during the regular season and a $50,000 bonus for making the Playoffs.

Goto, Toda, Munia, Dueña, García, and Gustio. His second wife, Sancha Sánchez, daughter of Sancho Macerátiz, bore him two: count Gómez González, Gonzalo's eventual heir and the premier noble and one-time suitor of queen Urraca of León, and Fernando. Goto married Fernando Díaz and was dead by July 1087, when, as the executor of her will, he made a donation to San Salvador de Oña of some land in Hermosilla that she had inherited from her father and uncle Álvaro Salvadórez.
Serpa domain and lands beyond the Guadiana river also was part in this dispute and saw its transfer to the Spanish monarch in 1271. The dispute ended only in 1283 with the transfer of these to Queen Beatrix, the mother of king Dinis (1279-1325). With the rectification of the border, under the reign of this, the village received its Foral Charter in 1295, at which time the villagers started the reconstruction of the old Muslim fortress, taking advantage of part of the primitive mud walls. To this end, the Order of Avis made a donation of one third of the incomes of the churches of Moura and Serpa to "remake and grocery alcáceres of the said castles" (1320).

The foundation fulfills its mission by awarding annual Vilcek Prizes in biomedical science and the arts, sponsoring cultural programs, and hosting immigrant artists in its gallery space in New York City. In 2005, the Vilčeks made a donation to NYU School of Medicine valued at over 100 million dollars, for use towards basic research. The funds have been used for the establishment of several endowed professorships, renovation of laboratories, establishment of research programs and endowment of fellowships for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at NYU School of Medicine.

In 2019, Conner and his friend and fellow comedian Jacob Sharpe criticised Sebastian Bails (made famous on TikTok) for mimicking domestic abuse between him and his girlfriend, Lauren Godwin, on their YouTube channel. Conner and Sharpe were both disturbed by the content, frequently commenting in the video that they found it difficult to make light of such a serious subject. The Malagasy Red Cross received extra supplies from the French Red Cross which mobilized its intervention platform in the Indian Ocean to provide logistical support. Twelve tonnes of material was provided from the main center on La Reunion Island, including tarpaulins, tool kits, generators, water tablets and other emergency supplies. Also, the Malagasy president made a donation of 8 millions of ariary to local branches of the Malagasy Red Cross along with 20 tonnes of rice. As a result of this, the Red Cross was able to distribute emergency items to 1,207 families; each family received 16 kilograms (35 pounds) of rice, 500 grams (17 ounces) of salt, 1.5 litres (50 fluid ounces) of oil, two bars of soap, candles and a lighter.

In 1148, he entrusted the abbot at the Benedictine monastery of Toxos Outos with the construction of a convent in Nogueirosa, one of the estates that he had given his wife Urraca as part of her wedding tokens on 25 July 1122. Years later, in 1150, Urraca made a donation of several properties to the newly founded establishment under the condition that she and four female relatives were to be accepted as members of the religious community of this convent which was called Santa María de Nogueirosa. In December 1156 he made his last recorded visit to the royal court at Palencia. In August 1084 García made a donation to the Benedictine monastery of San Adrián de Palma. By 20 November 1085, according to a document in the cartulary of San Millán, García's lordship was extended south to include Calahorra, an episcopal seat. By 1089 it was also included Grañón and by 1092 Madriz. She was living as late as 26 March 1125, when she, comitis Ruderici et comitisse Tharasiae filia, made a donation to the monastery at Sahagún. By September 1105 Rodrigo had been appointed a count (Latin comes or consul) by Alfonso VI. This was the highest rank in Castile during the twelfth century. By February 1109 Rodrigo was also ruling Liébana in the far west of Castile.

In 1982, the Club had discussions with the Sydney Rugby Union regarding the upgrade of Concord Oval. The Club made a donation of $250,000 to the NSWRU, which allowed the State Government to provide a further $1 million and saw Concord Oval transformed into a world class rugby venue, which in 1987 saw more than 25,000 people attend the World Cup semi-final match between Australia and France. Resurgence and Professionalism The 1980s and '90s saw a resurgence in the Club’s strength. Stephen James represented Australia in a number of Test series from 1986 and Fili Finau wore the green and gold on a French Tour in 1993. In 1995, the Club changed its name to the West Harbour Rugby Football Club to more truly reflect the Club’s location in the inner west of the harbour city.
Monastery of the Holy Savior, Cornellana Infanta Cristina was already a widow in 1024, as she states, when she made a donation for the founding of the Monastery of Cornellana. She died between 1051 — when she litigated with the Cathedral of Oviedo for the court of Santa Cruz de Aquilone that her mother Velasquita had "on loan" — and 1067 when her daughter Aldonza, also engaged in legal proceedings to have the cathedral grant her the same court. She was probably buried at the monastery which she founded and where she had become a nun. Years later, Count Suero Vermúdez, son of Bermudo Ovéquiz and grandson of her daughter Aldonza Ordóñez, bought all the shares held by family members, donated the monastery to the Abbey of Cluny, but later reversed the donation and gave it to the Cathedral of Oviedo.
Medieval city walls According to the Medieval Chronicle of Greater Poland (Kronika Wielkopolska) Koszalin was one of the Pomeranian cities captured and subjugated by Duke Bolesław III Wrymouth of Poland in 1107 (other towns included Kołobrzeg, Kamień and Wolin). Afterwards, in the 12th century the area became part of the Griffin-ruled Duchy of Pomerania, a vassal state of Poland, which separated from Poland after the fragmentation of Poland into smaller duchies, and became a vassal of Denmark in 1185 and a part of the multi-ethnic Holy Roman Empire from 1227 to 1806. Gothic Koszalin Cathedral In 1214, Bogislaw II, Duke of Pomerania, made a donation of a village known as Koszalice/Cossalitz by Chełmska Hill in Kołobrzeg Land to the Norbertine monastery in Białoboki near Trzebiatów. New, mostly German, settlers from outside of Pomerania were invited to settle the territory.
Bermudo was never honored with the title of count, although he was an important magnate and appears in charters signing as dominus (Latin for "lord") and also as Vermudo Petriz Galleciae ("Bermudo Pérez of Galicia"). His presence in medieval documentation is first recorded on 1 April 1104 when, with his brother, Count Fernando Pérez de Traba, he made a donation to the Monastery de San Xoán de Caaveiro. He was a vassal of Queen Urraca of León and, with his brothers, swore his loyalty to her son Alfonso VII upon his ascension to the throne of the Kingdom of León in Zamora. On 29 July 1118, Queen Urraca, with the consent of her son Alfonso, returned to Bermudo and to his brother Fernando the territories belonging to the monastery at Sobrado which King Ferdinand I had taken by force in 1050.
McClendon was a founding member of America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), a trade association and lobbying group for independent natural gas producers, based in Washington, D.C. He was an advocate for the greater use of natural gas in the United States and he funded a campaign in 2007 to draw clean-energy activists' attention to a Texas utility's plan to build 11 new coal plants. He also made a donation to the Sierra Club to fund its "Beyond Coal" campaign, which had blocked more than 150 new coal plants in the United States, as of October 2013. McClendon was a public proponent of natural gas, fracking and shale drilling throughout his career. In an appearance on 60 Minutes in 2010, McClendon argued a case for natural gas as a clean fuel and a significant job- creating industry.

Civil War Monument, 1915 Civil War Monument In 1875, the Elisha S. Kellogg Post of the Grand Party of the Republic raised $1,475 to erect a statue to honor the soldiers of Derby and Huntington (now Shelton) who served in the Union forces. In 1878, an unknown person made a donation of $1,500 for the statue base, which made it possible to proceed with erecting the statue. The base was dedicated on July 4, 1877. Several years later, $3,200 was pledged for a remodel of the existing base and the addition of an upper base and a 7 ft bronze statue, bringing the total height of the monument to 21 ft 4in.
The Blackader-Lauterman Library of Architecture and Art is the University's parent library for the Schools of Architecture and Urban Planning, and is located on the upper floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library. The library was established through a donation from the family of Gordon H. Blackader, one of the first students to study at the School of Architecture who died during World War I. The library was renamed the Blackader-Lauterman Library of Architecture and Art during the 1940s after the family of sculptor Dinah Lauterman made a donation to the university in her memory. The library contains over 79,000 monographs and journal subscriptions, and has a substantial collection of over 3000 rare books from 1511 to 2009 housed in the Rare Books and Special Collections Library at McGill. This includes a collection of original works by Vitruvius, Palladio, and G. B. Piranesi, among others.
In 1960, tax partners Allan Higgins and Charlie Post helped draft and secure passage of the Real Estate Investment Trust Act, which was hailed as a significant catalyst for real estate development across the country. In 1963, partner Don Hurley played a role in conceiving, drafting and securing passage of an amendment to the Bank Holding Company Act exempting parent companies of single banks and non-banking subsidiaries from federal restrictions on commercial banks. In 1969, after more than a half-century in the India Building at 84 State Street, the firm moved to a new office tower at 28 State, where it would remain for 16 years before moving to Exchange Place at 53 State Street in 1985. To celebrate its 75th anniversary in 1987, the firm made a donation of $1 million to the City of Boston to fund initiatives in public education.
In November 2009 John Nash, the chairman of Care UK, made a donation of £21,000 to the private office of Andrew Lansley, who would later become Secretary of State for Health, but was at the time the health spokesman for the opposition. Lansley was later accused of a conflict of interest, as Care UK would be a major beneficiary of proposed changes. In 2014, Care UK's former chairman Lord Nash became a government minister and Care UK took over services for people with severe learning disabilities in Doncaster, south Yorkshire, where they immediately cut wages of staff who had been on NHS terms by up to 35% while bringing in 100 new workers on £7 an hour. Fifty carers for the disabled began strike action in protest and by August 2014, had been on strike for seven weeks, making it one of the longest strikes in the history of the NHS.
Giuseppe Parisi In tracing the organization and curriculum of the new institution, Parisi proposed to abandon the old buildings and convents of the Panatica Palace where the cadets were housed until that moment, and to find a new home. The choice fell on the ancient Jesuit novitiate of Pizzofalcone, a large building that could be quickly adapted to the scope. The complex was built thanks to the generous donations of noblewomen Anna Mendoza, Marchioness della Valle and Countess of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi,La Marquise, sister of the Jesuit Giovanni de Mendoza, made a donation of 24,666.66 ducats; of these, 8,000 were used for the purchase and adaptation of the existing building Polignano, and 16666.66 to the maintenance of novices. After the 1964 general election, Montague said in an open letter to the press that he "deplored the way the Conservatives had attacked the newly elected Labour government as bad for British business, given that as a businessman I have suffered from the results of bad economic management of the past few years". A good friend of Labour party leader John Smith and Peter Mandelson, Montague was a member of the Millennium Commission from February 1994 until May 1997 Continuing his friendship of the Labour party via Mandelson with new leader Tony Blair, he was created a life peer on 1 November 1997 taking the title Baron Montague of Oxford, of Oxford in the County of Oxfordshire. It later emerged that this was after he had made a donation of £5,000 to the Labour party. Montague collapsed while attending the House of Lords on 5 November 1999.
At the Battle of Tolbiac in AD 496, the Alemanni were beaten and thereby forced to cede the northern part of their domain, including the Naheland where Hergenfeld now lies, to the victors, the Franks, another Germanic people. Thus, King Clovis I of the Franks, who, true to the vow that he had made in the battle, had himself baptized, became the local ruler. Clovis’s successors were bishops and princes who divided the land among themselves. Otto the Great thus made a donation to Saint Alban’s Abbey at Mainz. On 21 July 963, the following was recorded: :“The royal estate of Hergiesfeld in the county of Count Emicho in the Nahegau passes by donation to Saint Alban’s Abbey of Mainz.” The document is signed by Otto the Great’s son, King Otto II. Known from this document is the village’s original name, which over the ages underwent so many changes.
When her spouse died in 1849, Matilda Kristina von Schwerin inherited a fortune as well as the three estates granted her as dower lands, while the ownership of the von Schwerin family's estates was inherited by her late husband's brother Adolf Henning von Schwerin. She was immediately sued by von Schwerin, who refused to acknowledge her right to the dower estates. This second court case lasted for seven years, until the court, in 1856, acknowledged the legal right of Matilda Kristina von Schwerin to the three estate granted to her as dowers. The case was a scandal which attracted a lot of attention in contemporary Sweden, particularly within the upper classes, where the sympathies where on the side of the widow, and Adolf Henning von Schwerin made a donation of 100,000 riksdaler to Riddarhuset to soften the dislike his actions had caused his name in public opinion.

It offers full tuition every year to four Israeli or Palestinian students who have demonstrated their commitment to fostering peace in the region.

The filiation proposed by Luis de Salazar y Castro in his work on the House of Lara, has been accepted for centuries although several modern historians question its accuracy. According to Salazar y Castro, Gonzalo was the third member of this lineage with that name and was a descendant of the counts of Castile as the son of a Nuño or Munio González who would have been the son of Gonzalo Fernández, the first-born of count Fernán González. The author, however, confuses several namesakes, assuming that they are the same person, and does not provide any documentary evidence sustaining that filiation. Moreover, according to medieval charters, Gonzalo Fernández, the son of Fernán González, appears for the last time on 29 June 959 and in February 984 his widow, Fronilde Gómez, made a donation for the soul of her deceased husband to the Monastery of San Pedro de Cardeña and only mentions one son named Sancho.
The ancient St. Mary’s Chapel located in Atherstone dates from the early 12th century, when the monks of Bec made a donation of to a house of friars and hermits, later referred to as “Austin friars." According to Nichols, the chapel was granted to Henry Cartwright in 1542, then left abandoned and neglected until 1692, when Samuel Bracebridge settled a yearly sum for the parson of Mancetter to preach there every other Sunday in the winter season.John Nichols Leicestershire Vol. IV, Pt 11, pp. 1038 After this, St. Mary’s Chapel has experienced some form of revival. Its square tower was rebuilt in the fashionable “Gothic” style in 1782. This drastic alteration probably aroused some controversy, although the fine architectural drawing of the chapel made by Jacob Schnebbelie in 1790 prompted Nichols to assert that “the new tower provides a good effect." St. Mary's was further redesigned in 1849 by Thomas Henry Wyatt and David Brandon.
