Modern Madcaps is an animated film series produced by Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios animation division between the years 1958 and 1967. The series featured assorted characters that later became part of the Harvey Comics library. A total of 65 shorts was produced and released.

The New Casper Cartoon Show is a 1963-1970 animated television series that appeared on ABC's Saturday morning schedule, based on the Harvey Comics cartoon character Casper the Friendly Ghost. Casper's co-stars included his friends from the Harvey Comics stories: Wendy the Good Little Witch, the Ghostly Trio, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost, and the ghost horse Nightmare. The show premiered on October 5, 1963. The show included a mix of 26 new Casper cartoons created for this show by Paramount Cartoon Studios, as well as a selection of 1959–62 Famous Studios cartoons, mostly Modern Madcaps and Noveltoons which were relabeled as "Modern Madcaps".

The Madcaps was an Austrian band that was founded in 1965 in Strasshof by Hans Kloiber. The most successful songs were I man i dram, Schneemensch, and Und wem's net gfoid, der soll sich haun über d'Häusa. Georg Danzer, one of the members who wrote some of their songs, later started a solo career.

The Harmonicats, c. 1950 Jerry Murad's Harmonicats were an American harmonica- based group. The band was founded in 1947; by 2009, they were no longer performing. Originally they were named The Harmonica Madcaps and the group consisted of Jerry Murad (chromatic lead harmonica), Bob Hadamik (bass harmonica), Pete Pedersen (chromatic harmonica), and Al Fiore, (chord harmonica).

In truth, she was intensely ambitious, but faced the harsh reality that at the age of forty, she could no longer play the young heroines or madcaps as in earlier films, and that she was unwilling to play supporting roles. Decades after Davies' retirement and death, however, the consensus among some critics is more appreciative of her efforts, particularly in the field of comedy.

In 1959 Edward Finney read newspaper accounts of singing star Gloria Jean now working as a hostess in a restaurant favored by movie people. Finney, a Gloria Jean fan of long standing, decided to make his own Gloria Jean movie and reactivated Boots and Saddles Pictures. The new film was the lightweight comedy Laffing Time, co-starring Finney himself (as comedian "Eddie Finn") and veteran comic El Brendel. Finney later added old action footage to it and retitled it The Madcaps.

Animation historian Christopher P. Lehman considers that the series shares its main science fiction theme with Funderful Suburbia (1962), a Modern Madcaps animated short. Both feature people involved in space colonization. However, there is a key difference in the nature of the colonization: in Funderful Suburbia, humans colonize outer space in order to escape the problems of planet Earth, while the Jetsons live in a place where space colonization is already established. Life in outer space is depicted as a fact of life, and the reasons behind humanity's takeover of outer space are never explained.

Veteran Hollywood producer Edward Finney, himself a Gloria Jean fan, saw one of these reports and hired her to star in the lightweight comedy Laffing Time (filmed in 1959, re-released as The Madcaps in 1964). Jerry Lewis also read that Gloria Jean was working in a restaurant, and signed her for a singing role in his latest production, The Ladies Man (1961). Lewis removed almost all of her footage from the finished film; she appears only as an extra and has no dialogue. It was her last theatrical motion picture.

He gave himself six months' rest from the sea, socializing and spending in excess of the generous allowance that he received from his maternal uncle, Tadeusz Bobrowski. The uncle indulged his nephew's financial demands but sent him lengthy letters of reproof that included his usual criticisms of Conrad's improvident paternal line. Bobrowski, in his letters to Conrad, repeatedly emphasized the contrast between the reasonable and responsible Bobrowskis and the Korzeniowskis, whom he characterized as dreamers and wastrels—in the process, whitewashing his own family, which did not lack its own madcaps and rogues. Spencer wasn't accorded the same level of creative control he had on his signature series and, thanks to a subsequent regime change at the studio, the film was recut after a handful of successful previews. The DVD release of Hexed is not the original director's cut which Spencer claims "probably only exists in a dumpster outside Denny's." Despite being called one of "the nation's nobler madcaps" by Washington Post critic Tom Shales, Spencer has a serious side as well. He wrote a two-hour science fiction made-for-TV movie entitled The Tomorrow Man starring Julian Sands that had an ecological theme.

German politicians in 1980 declared the WSG Hoffmann as a group of "mentally retarded" and "madcaps". The Bavarian Minister for the Interior Gerold Tandler (CSU) relativised the group after its prohibition, claiming that left-wing groups were more dangerous because they had more members and were supported by the communists in Moscow. He was more worried that Hoffmann's group would discredit the reputation of West-Germany abroad. Der Spiegel wrote in the 2010s that FRG-officials of CDU and CSU had no deeper interest to uncover the connections of Köhler to Hoffmann, because CSU members where also involved in the far-right subculture at this time.

RTÉ began expanding its schedule during the 1970s with educational and children's programming being broadcast from 11 am. Children's shows imported for the channel included Tarzan, Modern Madcaps, The Road Runner Show, Land of the Giants, Apple's Way, Babar, Noddy, Sesame Street, Gemini Man, Clue Club and Scooby-Doo, while educational programming included Education: Zarabanda, First Steps in First Aid and German Lesson other daytime shows included South Riding, The Pallisers and Thrill Seekers. Prime time imports included Lights Out, The Spanish Farm, The Brady Bunch, Bridget Loves Bernie, Fawlty Towers, Little House on the Prairie, "The Waltons", "Poldark" The Muppet Show, Anne of the Thousand Days, Midnight Is a Place, Are You Being Served?. In 1978 RTÉ One began broadcasting many UK TV show such as ITV's Sale of the Century and Match of the Day which was simulcast with the BBC.
