Spartacus was born free just like the first generation of slaves in America and he valued that freedom above anything but family. Although Spartacus finds himself “removed from anything like liberty and dignity”, he manages to rise from the “lowest of the low to become an inspiring role model who comes close to achieving freedom for himself and others”.

Because of his spies within the police, Boucher knew that the RCMP had a "mole" within the ranks of the Angels, and was consumed with an obsession with finding out just who was the "mole". To flush out the "mole" and to destabilize the justice system in Quebec, Boucher had decided the Angels were to start murdering at random people associated with the justice system. Based on his prison experiences, Boucher felt that prison guards were the lowest of the low in the Quebec justice system, which is why prison guards were targeted. On 26 June 1997, two "prospects" with the Nomads, Stéphane "Godasse" Gagné and André "Toots" Tousignant, murdered the prison guard Dianne Lavigne.
In the early 1990s, the station again became an important outlet for new Canadian music, with bands such as Barenaked Ladies, The Lowest of the Low, Rheostatics, and Sloan counting CFNY as their first major radio supporter. However, alternative rock was the dominant commercial genre by this time, so CFNY did not sound as distinctive compared to other radio stations as it once had. Unfortunately it would also be some time before the changes were effective in resolving the staff morale problems born during the station's recent turbulent years. The most public manifestation of the station's morale woes came in 1992, when DJ Dani Elwell resigned from the station by reading her résumé live over the air.

Although it is generally accepted that Tantric Buddhism first developed in the country of Uddiyana or Odra Desha under King Indrabhuti, there is an old and well known scholarly dispute as to whether Uddiyana or Odra was in the Swat valley, Odisha or some other place. Indrabhuti, the oldest known king of Sambalpur, founded Vajrayana, while his sister, who was married to Yuvaraja Jalendra of Lankapuri (Suvarnapur), founded Sahajayana. These new Tantric cults of Buddhism introduced the mantra, mudra and mandala along with six Tantric Abhicharas (practices) such as Marana, Stambhana, Sammohana, Vidvesan, Uchchatana and Vajikarana. The Tantric Buddhist sects made efforts to raise the dignity of the lowest of the low of the society to a higher plane.

As the master of ceremonies, he introduced the strippers while performing his material. The clubs of the Valley provided the perfect environment for Bruce to create new routines: According to his primary biographer, Albert Goldman, it was "precisely at the moment when he sank to the bottom of the barrel and started working the places that were the lowest of the low" that he suddenly broke free of "all the restraints and inhibitions and disabilities that formerly had kept him just mediocre and began to blow with a spontaneous freedom and resourcefulness that resembled the style and inspiration of his new friends and admirers, the jazz musicians of the modernist school."Goldman, p. 133. Honey and Lenny's daughter Kitty Bruce was born in 1955.
Prakrit languages held a lower social status than Sanskrit in ancient India. In the Sanskrit stage plays, such as Kalidasa's Shakuntala, high-class male characters typically speak Sanskrit, while the low-class male characters and most female characters typically speak Prakrit. Mirza Khan's Tuhfat al-hind (1676) characterizes Prakrit as the language of "the lowest of the low", stating that the language was known as Patal-bani ("Language of the underground") or Nag-bani ("Language of the snakes"). While Prakrits were originally seen as 'lower' forms of language, the influence they had on Sanskrit - allowing it to be more easily used by the common people - as well as the converse influence of Sanskrit on the Prakrits, gave Prakrits progressively higher cultural cachet.
This theme covers a variety of apparently unrelated subjects: imprisonment, health care, capital punishment, mental illness, abortion, schooling... # What happens "after dark"? Sex, crime, astronomy... # Shining light into the shadows we find not only Ralf Dahrendorf's underclass but also the invisible people. Some invisible people are so because they choose to be (criminals, spies, the hidden rich) but others are invisible because we do not want to see them (the homeless, the dispossessed, the mentally confused, the dying...). Among the invisible there is a new slave class: some of those were uncovered by Gunther Wallraff in his documentary "The Lowest of the Low" (illegal immigrants who are used for clearing up nuclear accidents although the work is known to be fatal).
Hawkins's songs were filled with lyrics about Marxism and the Spanish Civil War, but also contained many references to Toronto landmarks like the Don River, Bathurst Street, and his local pub, "The Only" on Danforth Avenue. The album became one of the best-selling independent releases in Canadian history, selling just short of gold status, and was later named one of the ten greatest albums in Canadian music history by the music magazine Chart. However, the band also resisted some of the compromises and demands of the music industry; most notably, they played an early industry A&R; show wearing T-shirts that read "Don't suck corporate cock" and "Corporate rock still sucks". In 1993, the band signed a distribution deal with A&M; Records,"Lowest of the Low opts for major label".
Based on Ptolemy's design of the universe, Qazwini talks about 9 spheres in the heaven: the earth, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and the Sphere of spheres, which embraces all other spheres and causes day and night; they all have their own orbit. Whereas on the one hand to these and other stars Qazwini refers to the spheres or plants in scientific terms, on the other hand he supports the effects of the Moon, the North Pole and South Pole on man and animal, such as having the power to cure illnesses, with sayings among people. Man's purpose on earth is to achieve perfection and eschew bad habits and acts. The good character outweighs in this life and the next; bad character is a sin that can not be forgiven and through it man descends to the lowest of the low in hell.
Akin's congressional record showed support for limits to abortion, such as co- sponsoring a bill that would make abortion illegal even in the case of rape. Akin responded to the comments by issuing a press release stating: > As a member of Congress, I believe that working to protect the most > vulnerable in our society is one of my most important responsibilities, and > that includes protecting both the unborn and victims of sexual assault. In > reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it's clear that I misspoke in this > interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands > of women who are raped and abused every year. Those who perpetrate these > crimes are the lowest of the low in our society and their victims will have > no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they > deserve.
However, since Armored Troopers have extremely thin armor, and use a highly combustible liquid in their artificial muscle, their pilots have a very low chance of survival, and are commonly referred to instead as "Bottoms", the lowest of the low ("Votoms" and "Bottoms" are written and pronounced the same way in Japanese). The series follows a main character named Chirico Cuvie, a special forces Armored Trooper pilot and former member of the Red Shoulder Battalion, an elite force used by the Gilgamesh Confederation in its war against the Balarant Union. Chirico is suddenly transferred to a unit engaged in a suspicious mission, unaware that he is aiding to steal secrets from what appears to be his own side. Chirico is betrayed and left behind to die, but he survives, is arrested by the Gilgamesh military as a traitor, and tortured for information on their homeworld.

Mario Sclaniza (1927–1993) - sometimes spelt Sclanizza - was an Italian actor and producer who worked in film and theatre for four decades, starting as a child actor in the 1940s mainly in films starred in by his father, Umberto Sclanizza. The patriarch of this prolific Italian acting dynasty often found roles for his children Mario and Scilla Sclanizza. Mario Sclaniza was born in Bormio in the extreme north of Italy while the family were working in travelling theatre, and it is a testament to the extent of their travels that Mario's sister, Scilla Sclanizza, was born at the opposite end of the country the previous year. His first screen role in his own right came in 1940 with Gli Ultimi Della Strada ("The Lowest Of The Low") directed by Domenico Paolella at Pisorno Studios in Tirrenia, an early attempt at the gritty social frankness later to develop into the Italian Neorealism film movement.
There are two songs on 'Shakespeare' about the Spanish Civil War so it was kind of meant to be a trilogy of songs but for whatever reason we decided to leave the third one off the album." The album was recorded at Revolution Recording in Toronto with co-owner Joe Dunphy serving as the records co- producer along with Hawkins. Not only was the material a throwback to the band's first album when it came to the writing process, but Hawkins feels that carried through into the studio as well. "There is a certain punky spirit to it, there is a certain kind of mixing of jangly rock and punk and folk music. There are the sort of journalistic lyric writing that I didn’t do as much of later, and those things in my mind really defines the Lowest of the Low. And there’s that ragged sense, because of the nature of the personalities of all the guys in the band, that the wheels might come of it at any time.
In Gregory Maguire's revisionist Oz novels Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and Son of a Witch, Quadling Country is described as a largely undeveloped, swampy region, with the ruddy-faced Quadlings being portrayed as artistic and sexually free. It is also stated that in Oz they represent the lowest of the low in humans. This province is located directly south, the Yellow Brick Road breaks into the mountains of the Quadling Kells to end in the capital, Qhoyre, a city made of red stones and high balconies, with its red-skinned inhabitants living in hot rooms invaded by wild insects and drinking the native drink: red mint tea; The quadlings themselves describe their homeland as "poor but incredibly beautiful", a river, Waterslip, runs along a short dry red brick road, connecting Qhoyre with Ovvels, a village hanging on the trees, just above the humid marshes and swamps, hiding underwater rubies and an exotic wildlife. Here is where Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West), Nessarose (the Wicked Witch of the East) and Shell are raised, though they are natives of Munchkinland.
