Laurer, Joanie. If They Only Knew, 259, 269. Her original role in the promotion was as the laconic enforcer/bodyguard for D-Generation X which was founded by Shawn Michaels and Triple H. She was later given the ring name "Chyna", an intentionally ironic moniker; fine china is delicate and fragile, a sharp contrast to her character.Laurer, Joanie. If They Only Knew, 289. Like in the semi-main event match the second IWRG referee saw the illegal action and called for the disqualification, giving the victory to El Veneno, Diva Salvaje and Dr. Cerebro.
Even though Robinson didn't see Undertaker tapping, the timekeeper saw it and rang the bell. Undertaker then hit Lesnar with a low blow and made Lesnar pass out to Hell's Gate. In a post-match backstage interview, Robinson admitted that, after watching the replays, Undertaker did tap out, but he also confirmed that it didn't matter if the timekeeper or the crowd saw it, and that as long as Robinson didn't call for the bell, the match would continue, due to him being the referee and the official. At Payback on May 1, 2016, he refereed the match between Charlotte (with her father Ric Flair) and Natalya (with Bret Hart) for the WWE Women's Championship.

Dion responded to Harper's comments, saying Harper had "no class", saying "I did not understand the question", and "Maybe it's because I have a hearing problem, maybe because [English is] my second language, but I did not understand the question". Both the Conservatives and the CTV have come under criticism for their handling of the footage, but they have stated they stand by their actions. Duceppe has called Harper's comments a "double standard", saying that many English-speaking politicians have little or no ability to speak French, yet francophones are somehow always expected to be perfect, and that the attack was an attempted "low blow". But Duceppe also took the opportunity to criticise Dion, suggesting he understood the question.

After Amasis and Ophidian of the Osirian Portal were picked as their opponents, BDK's own Director of Fun Dieter VonSteigerwalt picked their trios partner out of his own hat and came up Sara Del Rey. Ares, Castagnoli and Tursas advanced in the tournament, pinning Ophidian with their new triple team finisher Ragnarok, after a low blow from Del Rey. Had Rivera not lost a point and been dropped in round six, this bout would have ended in a draw (tie) and possibly a third match between Rivera and Whitaker (by losing points due to the low blow and the fall, Rivera lost the chance of having the bout scored 114-113 for him by Kassees and 115-115 by Ushida, which, added to Keene's score-which would have read 115-113 for Whitaker-would have caused the bout to be ruled a tie). HBO's unofficial judge, Harold Lederman, also notably, this time scored the bout for Whitaker by a score of 116-109. The next year, Whitaker lost his world title to De La Hoya by way of yet another very controversial but unanimous decision.

The second match featured United States Champion Antonio Cesaro defending his title against The Miz, who came into the match with an injured shoulder via an attack by Cesaro on Raw. The punch to the crotch caused Ruiz to double over, and he was given a few minutes to recover after a point was deducted from Holyfield. When the bout resumed, an apparently still angry Ruiz exchanged some blows with Holyfield before throwing his own low blows, causing him to be deducted a point as well.

As Sakuraba wasn't engaging him on the ground, Gracie got up and rammed him to the corner, where he looked to score foot stomps and knees, but the Japanese suddenly attacked with a flurry of right punches that knocked Gracie to the mat. Taken by surprise, the Brazilian initially opted to remain on the mat to stay safe, although he returned to his feet when Sakuraba started kicking his legs as he had done in the fight against Royler.
An intentional foul that causes injury that prevents a fight from continuing usually causes the boxer who committed it to be disqualified. A fighter who suffers an accidental low-blow may be given up to five minutes to recover, after which they may be ruled knocked out if they are unable to continue. Accidental fouls that cause injury ending a bout may lead to a "no contest" result, or else cause the fight to go to a decision if enough rounds (typically four or more, or at least three in a four-round fight) have passed. Unheard of in the modern era, but common during the early 20th Century in North America, a "newspaper decision (NWS)" might be made after a no decision bout had ended.

Violations of these boxing rules may be ruled a “foul” by the referee, who may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify an offending boxer, causing an automatic loss, depending on the seriousness and intentionality of the foul. An intentional foul that causes injury that prevents a fight from continuing usually causes the boxer who committed it to be disqualified. A fighter who suffers an accidental low-blow may be given up to five minutes to recover, after which they may be ruled knocked out if they are unable to continue. There exist multiple correlations, none of which are of very high quality. Use of SPT data for direct prediction of liquefaction potential suffers from roughness of correlations and from the need to "normalize" SPT data to account for overburden pressure, sampling technique, and other factors. Additionally, the method cannot collect accurate data for weak soil layers for several reasons: # The results are limited to whole numbers for a specific driving interval, but with very low blow counts, the granularity of the results, and the possibility of a zero result, makes handling the data cumbersome. # In loose sands and very soft clays, the act of driving the sampler will significantly disturb the soil, including by soil liquefaction of loose sands, giving results based on the disturbed soil properties rather than the intact soil properties.
On the September 25 episode of SmackDown, Theodore Long officially lifted the ban, after being released from a casket The Undertaker had placed him in. 35–36 Nolte's opponents have expressed intense disagreement with his evidence for a Jewish "war" on Germany. They argue that Weizmann's letter to Chamberlain was written in his capacity as head of the World Zionist Organization, not on behalf of the entire Jewish people of the world,Evans, p. 38 and that Nolte's views are based on the spurious idea that all Jews comprised a distinct "nationality" who take their marching orders from Jewish organizations. Lipstadt criticized Nolte's thesis on the grounds that first, Weizmann had no army in 1939 to wage “war” against Germany with, and that Nolte had totally ignored the previous six years of Nazi persecution of the Jews, making it sound like as if Weizmann had struck a low blow against Germany for no apparent reason in 1939.

He challenged twice for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship in 2004, and was unsuccessful in both attempts. Jones entered the ring wearing a traditional lucha mask but the Mexico State wrestling and boxing commission would not allow him to actually wrestle in it as it had not been approved by the commission. The match between the two went over 20 minutes and was described as "good for a rookie" by SuperLuchas magazine crediting both Jones' athleticism and Máscara Año 2000 Jr.'s skills. Initially it looked like Jones won the match as he pinned Máscara Año 2000 Jr. after a low blow while the referee was not looking. Following the pinfall the decision was reversed and Máscara Año 2000 Jr. won by disqualification, although it's not clear if the disqualification part of the match will be shown on the Travel Channel show. The episode of Dhani Jones Tackles the Globe featuring Máscara Año 2000 Jr. premiered on June 14, 2010.
Doyle reports, "There wasn't anybody ever boxed better than Jack," and the fight goes well for Jack for several rounds as his left fist repeatedly connects with Walcott's face. By the seventh round, Jack's left arm gets heavy and Walcott begins to gain the upper hand as he pummels Jack's torso. After the eleventh round John Collins tells Jack the fight will go to Walcott, but Jack says he thinks he can last through the twelfth round and goes to meet Walcott and "finish it off right to please himself." Walcott backs Jack up against the ropes and delivers a very low blow; Jack, in obvious pain, stays standing–"if he went down, there go fifty thousand bucks" because he would win on a foul–and tells the referee not to call the foul because it must have been an accident.

At this point, Team International's Sabin and Shelley took advantage of their well-developed teamwork, having worked together as the Motor City Machine Guns since 2006, by double-teaming Dr. Wagner Jr. to allow Shelley to eliminate the Doctor over 47 minutes into the match. Just over a minute later Shocker and Último Guerrero countered one of Corleone's high flying moves to pin and eliminate Corleone from Team International.
On a taped edition of Saturday Night on September 2, Windham teamed with Dustin Rhodes to defeat Steve Williams and Terry Gordy for the unified WCW World Tag Team Championship and NWA World Tag Team Championship (their NWA title reign is not recognized by NWA); the match would air on October 3. They held the belts for about two months before losing them to Steamboat and Shane Douglas in a memorable match on November 18 at Clash of the Champions XXI. Windham turned heel on Rhodes after the match when Rhodes refused to pin Steamboat after an accidental low blow. At the end of the year, Windham teamed with Brian Pillman, who had also turned heel, to pursue the titles he and Rhodes lost, but ended up losing to Steamboat and Douglas at Starrcade 1992: Battlebowl/The Lethal Lottery II.
On July 12, 2010, Hijo de Dr. Wagner worked the Promociones Gutiérrez 1st Anniversary Show, a show co-produced by the local promotion and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), one of Mexico's biggest promotions. Hijo de Dr. Wagner teamed up with Hijo de L.A. Park and Scorpio Jr. to take on CMLL regulars La Máscara, Mascara Dorada and Valiente. The teams split the first two falls between them and, in the final fall, Scorpio Jr. drew a disqualification for landing a low blow on La Máscara and subsequently unmasking him in front of the referee. After the match, Scorpio Jr. and Hijo de L.A. Park attacked Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., which resulted in the surprise of the night as his father, Dr. Wagner Jr., came to the ring to save him from the attack.
In September 1932 he indicated that he was considering retirement from boxing, after defeat to Don McCorkindale, but returned two months later with a win over Bob Carvill. Meen fought Larry Gains in February 1933, losing after being disqualified for holding. He fought Petersen again in February 1934 in front of 10,000 people at the Granby Halls and again lost in two rounds, although Meen's supporters suspected a low blow had ended the fight, leading to fighting at ringside, and spectators smashed windows to get more air. In October 1934 he suffered a broken arm during a crash in which his car overturned, requiring a second operation in December to remove splinters of bone, and it was ten months before he returned to boxing, although he took up all-in wrestling, winning his first contest in March 1935.
Ryder then joined Theodore Long's team for a match to determine the General Manager of Raw and SmackDown at WrestleMania XXVIII. During the match, Eve distracted Ryder, costing him and Team Teddy the match, and she added further insult to injury by giving Ryder a low blow after the match. After wrestling sporadically, Ryder failed to gain revenge on Kane for Kane's attacks on him earlier in 2012 when Kane easily defeated Ryder in the pre-show match of Over the Limit. He won the 20-man battle royal on the special "Great American Bash" July 3 episode of SmackDown to become the acting SmackDown (or "ZackDown", as he called it) GM the next week. At the Night of Champions pre- show on September 16, Ryder won a 16-man battle royal to become number one contender for the United States Championship.
La Sombra pinned Mephisto to win the second fall and later on Volador Jr. pinned Averno to win the match two falls to one. In the fourth match of the night the father / son team of Brazo de Plata and Máximo teamed up with Toscano to face Los Hijos del Averno in the form of Ephesto, El Terrible and El Texano, Jr. After having won the first fall the tecnico team faces trouble on the second fall as Máximo seemingly hurt himself during a move. El Terrible tried to take advantage of the confusion and his a low blow, but was disqualified by the referee. The evening's Lighting Match featured Arkangel de la Muerte going against Ángel Azteca, Jr. in a match that played off the fact that Arkangel was the one to unmask Ángel Azteca (not blood related to Azteca, Jr.) some years ago.
As a result of their victory La Sombra, La Máscara and Mascara Dorada earned a shot at the CMLL WOrld Trios Championship at the May 21, 2010 Super Viernes. In the Lightning match Averno faced El Hijo del Fantasma who came into the match trying to overcome the loss of the CMLL World Trios Championship he had suffered the previous week. The veteran Averno took control of the match but Hijo del Fantasma was able to continuously evade being pinned throughout the match, with less than 30 seconds left in the time limit a frustrated Averno pushed the referee to the side, landed a low blow and then pulled El Hijo del Fantasma's mask off. Averno managed to pin Hijo del Fantasma with only 19 seconds left on the clock, taking advantage of Hijo del Fantama as he was trying to cover up his unmasked face.

Místico usually wrestled as a técnico but during the match Místico's attitude seemily changed as he began attacking Volador Jr., someone he usually teams with. Místico went so far as to ripping up Volador's mask, a rudo move, and won the match after an illegal low blow to Volador Jr. Further hints at Místico potentitally turning Rudo came a few days later as Volador Jr. challenged Místico to a one on one match to settle the issue between the two. The two met in the main event of Super Viernes on February 5, 2010 and this time Místico was clearly a Rúdo, tearing so viciously at Volador's mask that a new mask had to be brought to the ring during falls. In the second fall Místico pulled his mask off and threw it to Volador Jr. in an attempt to get Volador Jr. disqualified.
2006, again in Lake Tahoe, Mabuza lasted much longer, but lost when his corner threw in the towel in the ninth round. Marquez had scored a disallowed knockdown due to a low blow in the second, but thereafter had bloodied Mabuza's nose, cut him beside the right eye, and dealt two parallel cuts on his left cheek in Round 8. Mabuza had fought through a swollen right eye for five rounds, as well, when the fight was stopped after two rounds in which the action heavily favored Marquez. Mabuza has since returned to his home in South Africa, where he has continued to fight, logging three victories since his second title-shot loss to Marquez. He stopped Tanzanian Mbwana Matumla in the fifth round on 12 May 2007, to regain the IBO Bantamweight title, which had been vacated by Marquez's ascension to the Super Bantamweight division.
The opening contest of that week's Super Viernes was a tag team match between the tecnico team of Camaleon and Metálico facing off against the rudo brother duo known as Los Hombres del Camoflaje ("The Men in Camouflage"; Artillero and Súper Comando). The two teams each won a fall, taking the match to the third and final fall, which can only be won by pinning the "Team Captain" under traditional lucha libre rules. Artillero was the first man pinned and eliminated, but managed to sneak back inside the ring when the referee was distracted and cheated to help his brother Súper Comando get the victory by landing a low blow on Camaleon so Comando could pin him for the victory. In the second match of the night the holders of the Japanese "Reina X World's" Reina World Tag Team Championship, the team known as "Muscle Venus" (Hikaru and Tsukasa).
Aguayo Jr. underwent emergency surgery to remove a golf ball-sized tumor from his stomach. During the surgery, a peptic ulcer burst, and he was placed in an intensive care unit at the hospital in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Aguayo Jr. was released from the hospital on April 19 and was scheduled to receive treatment for his condition for a full year. Aguayo's tumor was found to be benign; Aguayo made his return to AAA, in a non–wrestling role, on May 1 and returned to the ring on May 8 in a six-man tag team match pitting Los Perros del Mal against Los Psycho Circus; Aguayo pinned Psycho Clown after a low blow. The feud continued on May 29 at Perros del Mal Producciones' third anniversary show, when Los Psycho Circus defeated Los Perros del Mal in a six-man tag team steel cage mask vs.
In the third and deciding fall Puma King caused his team to be disqualified when he landed an illegal low blow on Rey Cometa, furthering the tension between the two that had already been building over the previous month or so. The third match saw Lady Apache continue her rudo ways, firmly establishing her as a rudo as she teamed up with La Seductora and Princesa Blanca to take on the team of Dark Angel, Estrellita and Goya Kong. In the first fall Goya Kong pulled La Seductora's mask off, drawing a disqualification for her team. While her actions in previous weeks could be explained as being emotional or making a mistake, her actions in the second fall clearly demonstrated Lady Apache's switch to the opposite side as she threw a handful of white powder in Dark Angel's face while the referee was distracted.
La Sombra's time as a triple champion lasted just over two weeks, until February 3, when Sangre Azteca, Black Warrior, and Dragón Rojo Jr., collectively known as Poder Mexica ("Mexican Power") defeated La Sombra, Volador, and Sagrado to win the Mexican National Trios Championship. On May 27, 2009 La Sombra lost the NWA World Welterweight Championship to Mephisto. In early 2010 La Sombra began a storyline feud with El Felino. The feud began on February 2, 2010, during a singles match between El Felino and La Sombra; when tied at one fall each, Puma King, El Felino's son, showed up wearing an El Felino outfit and mask, distracting both the referee and La Sombra long enough for El Felino to land a low blow on La Sombra to win the match. The two met in a Lighting match (a one fall, 10 minute time limit match) on the February 19 CMLL Super Viernes show.
On the March 15 episode of Impact, Cage saved Johnny Impact from Killer Kross and Moose, but Impact turned on Cage after Impact's wife Taya Valkyrie would low blow Cage allowing Impact to attack him. Part of the ongoing feud involved the referee Johnny Bravo where two weeks prior to the Rebellion show, it emerged that he now had allegiances to Johnny Impact and Wife Taya Valkyrie as he chop-blocked Cage when Cage was in a position to pick up a pinfall win over Impact. The previous week Bravo screwed Cage in a match with Killer Kross where he called for the bell indicating a successful pinfall when it was clear to the Audience & commentators present and the TV viewers at home that Cage had barely got a shoulder up before the referee hit the mat with his hand for the third count. At Impact Wrestling Rebellion PPV on April 28, Cage defeated Impact and became Impact World Champion for the first time.
After defeating The F1rst Family (Arik Cannon, Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz) in the quarter-finals, F.I.S.T. advanced to the semifinals of the tournament, where they would defeat the team of Equinox, Lince Dorado and Helios, the team known collectively as The Future is Now. On March 29, 2009, F.I.S.T. defeated Team Uppercut (Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Dave Taylor) in the finals, when Taylor forced Danielson to tap out, to win the 2009 King of Trios and solidify their spot as the top trio in Chikara. With the King of Trios over, Fire Ant and Soldier Ant of The Colony challenged F.I.S.T. to a match, in an attempt to avenge their fallen partner, but ended up once again being one upped, when Icarus and Taylor defeated them on April 25, following a low blow. After the match Chikara Director of Fun Leonard F. Chikarason booked the two teams to end their feud in a Double Mask vs.
During that fourth round, Sefo was down for over four minutes and was seen by ringside physicians after sustaining a low blow before suffering two knockdowns, one from a low kick and the other a barrage of unanswered strikes. Hug then registered back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Stefan Leko, in his third defence of the WKA strap at K-1 Fight Night '99 on June 5, and Maurice Smith, at K-1 Spirits '99 on August 22. Continuing his winning streak into the 1999 K-1 World Grand Prix, he floored Hiromi Amada twice with low kicks then finished him with a spinning heel kick in round one at the K-1 World Grand Prix '99 Opening Round on October 5. In the quarter-finals of the K-1 Grand Prix '99 Final Round, which was held on December 5, Hug met Ernesto Hoost for the fourth and last time.
On November 2, Atlantis was scheduled to challenge for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship alongside Último Guerrero, but could not take part in the match due to an injury and was replaced by Dragón Rojo Jr. In the end Guerrero and Rojo Jr. went on to win the titles, after which Rojo Jr. was made an official member of Los Guerreros de la Atlantida. On February 25, 2011, Atlantis and Máscara Dorada defeated Blue Panther and Dragón Rojo Jr. in the finals to win the Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles for the second year in a row. In June, Atlantis replaced an injured Shocker and teamed with Delta and Guerrero Maya Jr. in the Forjando un Ídolo tournament, which they eventually went on to win. On July 31, 2011, Atlantis and Rey Bucanero made an unadvertised appearance for American promotion Chikara, losing to F.I.S.T. (Chuck Taylor and Johnny Gargano) via disqualification, when Gargano faked taking a low blow from Atlantis.

Hamels pitching against the Cincinnati Reds in 2008 Before the season began in March, Hamels made a complaint about the Phillies underpaying him, saying it was a "low blow" and he was "caught off-guard" with the gap between what he and his agent John Boggs felt was a fair reward for his performance in the previous season and what he was paid (the Phillies paid him , barely above the minimum salary for MLB players despite Hamels' strong performance). Though Hamels was the "clear-cut ace", Charlie Manuel penciled in Brett Myers as the Phillies' opening day starter because Myers accepted his role as closer the preceding season, putting the team ahead of his personal wishes to start. By the end of April, Hamels led the Phillies in most pitching categories, including wins (3), ERA (2.70), and innings pitched (). Continuing his dominance into May, Hamels recorded his first career complete game shutout against the Atlanta Braves on the 15th of that month.
In 1993, with only 5 weeks notice, Rosier elicited the help of his former student World Kickboxing Champion A.J. Verel to coach and train him for UFC 1, the very first mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His first match in the tournament, the second in the card, pitted him against American Kenpo expert and two-time World Kickboxing Federation superheavyweight champion Zane Frazier.Don Beu, The Ultimate Fighting Championship: Jujutsu and Royce Gracie Reign Supreme at No-Holds-Barred Tournament, Black Belt magazine, March 1994 Rosier opened the match knocking Frazier down with punches, knee strikes and an elbow strike to the turtled up Frazier's back, but his opponent recovered and went to exchange knee strikes with him in the clinch. At that moment, capitalizing on the lack of regulation about hair pulling and groin attacks, Frazier managed to take over by striking Rosier with a low blow and dragging him by the hair.
Following this, he turned his attention to Hunter Hearst Helmsley (who would later be known simply as Triple H) and the European Championship that Michaels had given to Helmsley as a Christmas present. After weeks of deterring a championship match by way of a fractured kneecap, Triple H finally acquiesced to a match on January 26's Raw Is War, only for the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust (who was dressing up from week to week in a bid for attention) to appear in Helmsley's place. After Hart won the match, WWF Commissioner Slaughter declared the disguise so convincing that he upheld the decision and awarded the championship belt to Hart. On the March 2 episode of Raw Is War, Hart defended the title against Mark Henry, but Chyna came to the ring and pushed Hart off the turnbuckle allowing Henry to lock on a bearhug, but before he could submit she gave an obvious low blow to Henry, resulting in a disqualification in favour of Hart.
In the third fall Místico and Psicosis took the spotlight with a long exchange of holds and moves with neither gaining the advantage. In the end Místico frustrated Psicosis to the extent that he landed a low blow on Místico in clear view of the referee, earning a disqualification for his team, leaving Místico, Rayo de Jalisco, Jr. and Blue Panther the victors in the longest match of the night at 22:45. In the fourth match of the evening two-thirds of the current CMLL World Trios Champions, La Máscara and Máscara Dorada teamed up with former Trios champion El Hijo del Fantasma against the team known as Los Hijos del Averno ("The Sons of Hell"; Averno, Ephesto and Mephisto). Los Hijos proved that they had the better teamwork as they took the first fall after Averno drilled Hijo del Fantasma with his Devil Wings finishing move, a Spinning sitout double underhook facebuster.
Initially Místico wrestle as the tecnico he has been for years, but during the match Místico's attitude seemily changed as he began attacking Volador Jr., someone he had teamed with for years. Místico even went so far as to ripping up Volador's mask, a rudo move, and won the match after an illegal low blow to Volador Jr. After the match Místico took the microphone and claimed that "all was fair in war and defending Mexico City", a comment that drew many boos from the crowd. The two met in the main event of an Arena México show on February 5, 2010, and this time Místico was clearly a Rúdo, tearing so viciously at Volador's mask that a new mask had to be brought to the ring during falls. In the second fall Místico pulled his mask off and threw it to Volador Jr. in an attempt to get Volador Jr. disqualified.
Examples include Seth Rollins during his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign, Charlotte during her Divas/Raw Women's Championship reign, the Honky Tonk Man during his long Intercontinental Championship reign, Tommaso Ciampa during his NXT Championship reign and The IIconics during their WWE Women's Tag Team Championship reign. Brock Lesnar's character in WWE has had largely heel aspects, and he too was well known for failing to frequently defend his title (especially during his first Universal Championship reign), often only performing on pay-per-view events and not on SmackDown or especially Raw. This helps to affirm the intended kayfabe reactions that the face(s) that said heel is feuding with is/are more deserving of the title. Heels may in fact beg for mercy during a beat down at the hands of faces, even if they have delivered similar beat downs with no mercy, with Ric Flair in particular being well known for begging an opponent off, then hitting a low blow on his distracted opponent.
The Torneo Cibernetico saw Sangre Azteca eliminated as the first man by Fuego, followed by Guerrero Maya, Jr. (by Volador Jr.), Fuego (Tiger), Namajague (Disqualified for a low blow against Rey Cometa), Rey Cometa (by Averno), Tiger (by Valiente), Valiente (by Volador Jr.) and finally Volador Jr. was pinned by Místico, leaving Místico and Averno as the last two competitors. Averno had a long history with the character Místico, that had left CMLL in 2011 and Místico La Nueva Era was created to follow in his footsteps. Averno one of the finalists for the Mexican National Welterweight Championship The fifth match of the night was billed as Semifinal de Lujo ("The Luxury Semi-final"), a six-man tag team match between the trio of Máscara Dorada, Rush and La Sombra and the team of Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. and El Terrible. For this match CMLL brought together long running rivalries between La Sombra and Volador Jr. as well as Rush and El Terrible into one match.
That same day, Hideo Itami won a NXT tournament at WrestleMania Axxess to earn a spot in the match. On February 26, Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett was scheduled to defend his title in a multiple-man ladder match at the event, in which a storyline was made when several contenders stole the title, claiming that they won it. Between the March 2 episode of Raw and the March 12 episode of SmackDown, R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust and Daniel Bryan were added to the match. In his WrestleMania debut, Rusev lost the United States Championship to John Cena in his first pinfall loss since he debuted in the WWE's main roster the previous year At Fastlane, Rusev defeated John Cena to retain the United States Championship after hitting Cena with a low blow (while the referee was distracted with Lana) and making him pass out to the Accolade submission hold.
Pirata Morgan and his sons had been a regular worker for IWRG for several years and had at times wrestled Los Capos Junior, but this had never escalated into a long running storyline feud. The first real interaction between the factions in the main event of the Prisión Fatal show happened on March 10, 2013 during the main event of an IWRG event where Cien Caras, Jr. and Máscara Año 2000, Jr. teamed up with Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 to take on the team of Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan and Electroshock. During the match Cien Caras, Jr. used an illegal low blow on Hijo de Pirata Morgan to win the first fall for his team, taking advantage of the fact that all six competitors were in the ring at the same time, distracting the referee. During the second fall Pirata Morgan tried to gain a measure of revenge for his son and pulled Cien Caras, Jr.'s mask off, but this illegal move was noticed by the referee who disqualified his team for the overall loss.
CMLL booked the match to further the feud between Negro Casas and Liger which had begun during Negro Casas' tour of Japan in April where he wrestled Liger on several occasions, including losing the CMLL World Middleweight Championship to him. Liger had gotten the better of Casas in Japan and continued to have the upper hand when they clashed in Mexico for the first time as Liger pinned both Negro Casas and El Felino to win the first fall. Mr. Niebla had Liger pinned for the second fall but Liger's teammate Averno distracted the referee, allowing Liger ample time to pull Mr. Niebla's mask off to distract him, followed by a low blow which allowed Liger to pin Mr. Niebla, winning the match for his team in two straight falls. In the fourth match of the night, Mexican National Welterweight Champion Valiente teamed up with frequent partner El Sagrado and the Exótico Máximo to face La Ola Amarilla ("The Yellow Wave") consisting of Shigeo Okumura and NJPW rookie Nobuo Yoshihashi teaming up with Vangelis on the night.
Stuka Jr. reacted quickly before the referee noticed and put the mask back on Namajague and then pinned his surprised opponent. The January 4, 2013 Super Viernes saw the rivalry continue as Stuka Jr. and Okumura was on opposite sides of a six-man tag team match, won by Stuka Jr.'s team, while Rey Cometa defeated Namajague by disqualification when Namajague tried to use a low blow on his opponent. Over the next coulple of weeks Stuka Jr. and Namajague found themselves on opposite sides of six-man tag team matches, teaming with a number of different partners which did not always include Rey Cometa or Okumura. Both Rey Cometa and Namajague took part in the 2013 CMLL Reyes del Aire ("Kings of the Air") tournament on February 2, 2013 but due to their interaction and a mistimed move Namajague ended up landing wrong during a dive to the floor and had to be taken to the hospital, while moments later Rey Cometa also ended up hurt.
Místico even went so far as to ripping up Volador's mask, a rudo move, and won the match after an illegal low blow to Volador Jr. After the match, Místico took the microphone and claimed that "all was fair in war and defending Mexico City", a comment that drew a lot of boos from the crowd. Místico continued to work a Rudo style in the semi-final match, ripping at Máscara Dorada's mask. When Místico's team lost to Dorada and Atlantis the two tecnicos argued after the match. Further hints at Místico potentially turning Rudo came a few days later as Volador Jr. challenged Místico to a one on one match, a Super Libre (match with no rules) match if Místico would agree to it. The two met in the main event of an Arena México show on February 5, 2010, and this time Místico was clearly a Rúdo, tearing so viciously at Volador's mask that a new mask had to be brought to the ring between falls.
In October 2010, Cibernético left Legado AAA, after feeling betrayed by his friends and re–formed his old group Los Bizarros as a third outside group, which was neither part of AAA nor La Sociedad. L.A. Park wearing the trademark mask he put on the line at Triplemanía XIX On November 22, 2010, La Sociedad member L.A. Park returned to AAA, after spending several weeks wrestling in the United States, to find out that the group's leader Konnan had chosen his longtime La Legión Extranjera stablemate El Zorro as the next challenger for Dr. Wagner Jr.'s AAA Mega Championship. Trying to appease Park, Konnan promised him the next shot at the title, provided that he took out one of AAA's top técnicos, El Mesías. Later that night Park first bloodied El Mesías with a steel chair and then pinned him with a low blow in a six-man tag team match. On December 5 at Guerra de Titanes, L.A. Park and El Mesías faced each other in a match, which turned into a brawl, during which both were covered in blood and Park's trademark mask was torn apart, completely revealing his blood covered face.
Their feud culminated in a Last Man Standing match at Fully Loaded which was won by Triple H. Afterwards, Triple H entered a feud with Kurt Angle, initially over the WWF Championship, but then as a love triangle between himself, Angle, and Stephanie. Both Triple H and Angle wrestled for the WWF Championship against The Rock at SummerSlam, but The Rock retained the title after Angle received a legit concussion during a botched Pedigree on a commentary table by Triple H. The feud culminated at Unforgiven, where Triple H defeated Angle with a Pedigree after a low blow from McMahon. After a brief run as a face that saw him defeating Chris Benoit at No Mercy, Triple H reverted to his heel persona and restarted his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin when it emerged that Triple H had paid off Rikishi to run down Austin at Survivor Series, causing him to take a year off. While in the storyline Triple H said he had done it in order to shield Austin from the WWF Championship and end his career, in reality Austin's previous neck injuries started bothering him again, forcing him to have surgery.
