If some men and women are simply on a lower libido spectrum in everyday life, might they revert to that once this "love drug" subsides, leaving those with a higher libido frustrated?

"Active drug users, people who live with or love drug users, and people on methadone or buprenorphine, who are often coming out of treatment and know people at high risk of overdose," said Robert Childs, executive director of the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition in Wilmington, N.C. The surgeon general also listed patients who take high doses of prescribed opioids.

The New South Wales Department of Agriculture and Fisheries dispatched field officers to the affected areas to identify the plants. The discovery created a sensation in the press. Ancient emperors such as Moctezuma II was said to utilise chocolate as an aphrodisiac, consuming large amounts before visiting his wives. Casanova also consumed the chocolate in liquid form before seeing his romantic partners. Her research methods earned her a spot among several other journalists and nonfiction writers in Robert Boynton's book, New New Journalism.

In 1992, Sue Carter discovered that administering oxytocin to prairie voles would accelerate their monogamous pair-bonding behavior. Oxytocin has also been found to play many roles in the bonding between mother and child. In addition to pair-bonding and motherhood, oxytocin has been found to play a role in prosocial behavior and bonding in humans. Nicknamed the “love drug” or “cuddle chemical,” plasma levels of oxytocin increase following physical affection, and are linked to more trusting and generous social behavior, positively biased social memory, attraction, and anxiety and hormonal responses.

Jeffrey Lee Pierce, of The Gun Club, was an original member of the group and was highly influential in both supporting the formation of the group and promoting the band. Tex and the Horseheads released two records, a self-titled record in 1984 and Life's So Cool, produced in 1985 by John Doe, member of X and of the Flesh Eaters. A live album, titled Tot Ziens; Live in Holland, was released by Enigma Records in 1986. Their songs dealt with themes of heartbreak, love, drug and alcohol dependency, grief, loss, and financial difficulty—all a testament to their destitute roll-and- tumble lifestyle, as well as Texacala's real-life struggles with alcohol and heroin in the latter half of the 1980s.
