Remains of the previous human explorers to visit the place lie around – supposedly they belonged to another Ultranaut crew led by a captain called Argyle, whom Childe's probe interrogated during his dying moments to gather information about the Spire. The Spire is a series of rooms, each containing a mathematical puzzle. The doors get smaller as the rooms progress, and the rooms proceed in a spiral up the tower, which is about 250 meters high.

Many neo-classical buildings lie around it, like the town hall to the south, the Ermioneion Hotel to the west, and the National bank of Greece building to the north. Next to the town hall lies the old church of Saint Nicolas, Kozani's patron, and between them stands the clock tower. The clock tower, or Mamatsios (from the last name of the donor of the clock), was built in 1855, and is 26 metres tall. It is the symbol of Kozani and its bells can be heard in most parts of the town centre.

Heidelstein The most important nature reserves of the Rhön and the core zones of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve lie around Wüstensachsen and may easily be reached on the Rhön Cycleway or over the well constructed mountainbike route network. In Wüstensachsen the Rhön Cycleway begins to climb up to the Long Rhön to a height of a good 800 metres. The gradient averages 5% and runs through lush meadows and beech forest to the Schornhecke car park where it meets the High Rhön Panorama Road (just below the Heidelstein).

Three large and many small islands lie around the coast. Notable among these are Ruapuke Island, in Foveaux Strait northeast of Oban; Codfish Island, close to the northwest shore; and Big South Cape Island, off the southwestern tip. The Titi/Muttonbird Islands group is between Stewart Island and Ruapuke Island, around Big South Cape Island, and off the southeastern coast. The boat is powered by two 27-liter Rolls Royce Meteor V12 petrol engines from two Swedish Centurion tanks, based on the same aluminium motor block as used in the British World War 2 Spitfire fighter plane. The shoals lie around off the Sarawak coast of Borneo, inside the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Malaysia, and around from Mainland China. The shoals are either part of the Spratly Islands, or southeast of what some sources consider to be the southernmost members of the Spratly Islands, such as Louisa Reef.J. Rumaila Operating Organization was founded by BP, CNPC and Basra Oil Company (BOC) (formerly South Oil Company (SOC)) in order to manage the 20-year rehabilitation and expansion of Rumaila oil field in southern Iraq, which was discovered in 1953 and has been in operation since 1954, with extensive exploration and production since the late 1960s / 1970s. Rumaila oil field is part of the so-called class of super- giant oilfields, with more than one billion barrels of recoverable oil. Current estimations of Rumailas total reserves lie around 17 billion barrels. Production from the field is around one third of the countries total oil output.

On the cliff west of the village is the Perenco "nodding donkey" oil pump which has been pumping continually since the late 1950s, making it the oldest working oil pump in the UK. The well currently yields around from the Middle Jurassic strata that lie around below the cliff.Natural England – England's Geology – Dorset The well has been operating for this long because it has tapped into a network of connected reserves; however the yield is decreasing year on year. The oil is transported by tanker to the Perenco site at Wytch Farm from whence it is piped to the main refinery on Southampton Water.

The Maltese archipelago is situated on the mainly shallow water continental platform between Sicily and North Africa that lies beneath the Sicily Channel, separating the Ionian Basin from the western Mediterranean Basin. The islands lie around 200 km to the south of the subduction boundary between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The platform is crossed by a rift zone formed of three grabens: the Pantelleria graben, that of Malta, and that of Linosa. The faults bounding these grabens are associated with most of the earthquakes that affect the archipelago, although some earthquakes with epicentres in Sicily may have damaging effects, such as the 1693 Sicily earthquake.

Ruins of Killellan Kirk Killellan, whilst formerly a parish in its own right, did not have any single developed settlement. The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book as a separate manor belonging to a local man named Ernulf. The name is thought to be from the Old English meaning 'home of the family or followers of Alda'.Mills, A.D. The Westerwald's permanent settlement and thereby its territorial history began with the Chatti (Hessians) pushing their way into the area after the Romans were driven out in the 3rd century. Placename endings such as –ar, –mar and –aha ("Haigraha" = Haiger) stemming from the Migration Period ("Völkerwanderung") can still be found now. These lie around the forest's outer edges in basins and dales whose soils and climate were favourable to early settlers, and include, for instance, Hadamar, Lahr and Wetzlar. There have been many theories proposing the origin of the Tai peoples — of which the Thai are a subgroup — including an association of the Tai people with the Kingdom of Nanzhao that has been proven to be invalid. The forewings are very pale fawn-ochreous, profusely dusted with fawn-brown throughout, slightly paler towards the apex and with an ill-defined outwardly angulate band from the commencement of the costal cilia to the commencement of the dorsal cilia, the costa before it being somewhat more darkly shaded than the remainder of the wing, corresponding in colour to four slightly indicated shade-spots—one on the upper edge of the fold at about one-seventh of the wing-length, one on the middle of the cell, and one at its outer extremity, with another on the fold slightly beyond the middle one. About six dark marginal dots lie around the apex and termen before the pale fawn-ochreous cilia, of which the outer half is darker than the basal. In the Second Report of the Geological Survey of Indiana, published in 1871, State Geologist E. T. Cox wrote: One of the most interesting spots to visit, for obtaining a view of this character of scenery, is near the town of Shoals, on the road to the Indian Sulphur Springs. A high ridge of millstone grit, here, terminates within a few yards of the East Fork of the White River, from the top of which, there is a projecting mass of conglomerate sandstone, called the "Pinnacle," which stands one hundred and seventy feet above the level of the stream. Cyclopean blocks, that have broken off, lie around the foot of the ridge, in every conceivable position. On the north side of this ridge, the conglomerate has been cut through by disintegrating forces, which left, at some distance from the main ledge, a tall mass of rock, which has received the name of "Jug Rock," from the fancied resemblance which it bears to a jug.
