While it's not unusual for contemporary artwork to be interactive, this exhibit challenges the boundaries of art for art's sake, transforming works of art into objects to be used for a functional purpose, building a connection between object and audience and breaking down boundaries between a curator's authority and a viewer's natural inclination to interact, transforming the art gallery into a nostalgic playground and LGBTQI safe space.

I haven't told that many people because, like I said, I'm not that close to that many Mormons, but there is a gay man in my ward―the church is divided into smaller, geographical parts, so he's in my ward―and he's the leader of a LGBTQI support group in Salt Lake that's neutral in their position, they're neither for or against the church, they're just there to support.

"We object to the Commission's stated purpose, which we find harmful to the global effort to protect the rights of all people and a waste of resources; the Commission's make-up, which lacks ideological diversity and appears to reflect a clear interest in limiting human rights, including the rights of women and LGBTQI individuals; and the process by which the Commission came into being and is being administered, which has sidelined human rights experts in the State Department's own Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL)," the letter said.
