While plant use in textile art is still common today, there are new innovations being developed, such as Suzanne Lee's art installation “BioCouture.” Lee uses fermentation to create a plant-based paper sheet that can be cut and sewn just like cloth- ranging in thickness from thin plastic-like materials up to thick leather-like sheets. The garments are “disposable” because they are made entirely of plant based products and are completely biodegradable. Within her project, Lee places a large emphasis on making the clothing look fashionable by using avant-garde style and natural dyes made from fruits because compostable clothing is not appealing to most shoppers.

The artists wanted to make a leather-like material using living tissue, and ended up making it in the shape of a stitchless jacket. The artists based the jacket on a biodegradable polymer, coated it with 3T3 mouse cells to form connective tissue and topped it up with human bone cells in order to create a stronger skin layer. To create the victimless leather, the team needed an artificial environment where semi-living entities are grown, so it is grown inside a bioreactor that acts as a surrogate body. The bioreactor used in this project was custom made, based on an organ perfusion pump designed by Alexis Carrel and Charles Lindbergh.

Classic riding jodhpurs, showing the extra width in the thigh area, which allows for lateral leg movement when in the saddle. Special adaptations for riding include a pattern cut with the leg seams on the outside of the leg; a patch on the inside of the knee, sometimes of a hard-wearing material such as leather; and in some cases similar leather or leather-like panel on the seat that helps the rider stay still in the saddle. Classic jodhpurs are beige or white, but for working purposes are now made in a variety of colours. They are particularly well-suited for children, as the shorter paddock boots cost less than tall boots to replace as a child's feet grow.

Leatherback sea turtles often inhabit open waters but are still sometimes seen on coastal waters because of their title of the most migratory sea turtle species. It is the largest turtle in the world, weighing up to two thousand pounds and reaching up to six and a half feet by their adult years. The shell of the leatherback turtle, also called a carapace, can develop to one and a half inches and is the only shell on a sea turtle that is not hard and boney but rather soft and leather like to the touch. The front flippers on the leatherback turtle are not equipped with scales and claws unlike other species, and they outgrow the flippers on other species of sea turtles.

1962 Plymouth Valiant with Hyper Pak The 1962 model year saw an extensive facelift. The radiator grille was flattened and shortened. The hood release was moved to a knob at the top of the grille frame. The central grille emblem was deleted, except on the top- line Signet 200 2-door hardtop model, which received a black-painted grille with a round central emblem incorporating the red-and-blue stylized "V" Valiant emblem. The Signet 200 had pleated, leather-like bucket seats, custom tailored interior trim, deep-pile carpeting, special trunk lid emblem, different headlamp frames and special side moldings; it was America's lowest- priced hardtop with bucket seats. 1962 tail lamp Fender and hood stampings were similar to the 1960-'61 items, but neither identical nor interchangeable.

As a result of the low budget, only one sound editor was hired (normally there are two, for sound effects and dialogue), and many pieces of scenery were made in cheaper ways, with M's office featuring cardboard paintings and a door covered in a leather-like plastic, the room where Dent meets Dr. No costing only £745 to build, and the aquarium in Dr. No's base being magnified stock footage of goldfish. Furthermore, when art director Syd Cain found out his name was not in the credits, Broccoli gave him a golden pen to compensate, saying that he did not want to spend money making the credits again. Production designer Ken Adam later told UK daily newspaper The Guardian in 2005: > The budget for Dr No was under $1m for the whole picture. My budget was > £14,500.

The 2016 model year received a thorough facelift including new front and rear bumpers, headlamps and taillamps, reshaped Zero Gravity front seats, steering wheel and central console. The car was built with new cabin silencing materials, and new sound-reducing windshield. A new SR trim level added sporty seventeen-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, sport cloth seating surfaces, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, a front power driver's bucket seat, and a sports leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel to the S model. The 3.5 SR was dropped for the 2018 model year, leaving the 2.5 SR as the only available SR trim level, and the only 3.5 trim level once again was the 3.5 SL. For 2018, the 2.5 SR trim level gets two new "Special Edition" packages, one being the 2.5 SR Special Edition, which adds special gray- finished eighteen-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, leather-like upholstery, and a seven-inch display infotainment system with GPS navigation to the base 2.5 SR trim. The other "Special Edition" package available for the 2.5 SR is the 2.5 SR Midnight Edition, which adds special black-finished eighteen-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a black rear spoiler, black exterior side mirrors, black exterior accents, and black exterior emblems to the base 2.5 SR trim.
