In late 2006 Borthwick had a one-off role in Not Going Out. He has also appeared in the "Life In The Underpass" episode of Gina's Laughing Gear. Borthwick is a keen sports fan, he enjoys playing snooker and football and supports West Ham United Football Club. He also enjoys boxing; and carried Kevin Mitchell's championship belt into the ring prior to a bout in July 2007.

Gina's Laughing Gear was a special programming slot which was presented by Gina Yashere. It was shown on Friday afternoons on BBC One and repeated on Saturday on the CBBC Channel. The purpose was to showcase new CBBC comedy at the time. The running gag in the slot was that Gina "hacks" the CBBC transmission in her claim to try to be a CBBC presenter.

She occasionally appeared as an impressionist but mostly played characters in various sketches to support the stars: Jan Ravens, Jon Culshaw, Mark Perry, Kevin Connelly, and Phil Cornwell. In the Dead Ringers CBBC spin off 'Spoof!' (part of the Gina's Laughing Gear comedy pilot season), Robinson appeared as Supernanny, Charlotte Church, Konnie Huq and Billie Piper among others. Other appearances include the CBBC talent show The Slammer as part of an impressions double act and as a special guest on Blue Peter.

Previous to his broadcast career, Leigh had a diverse CV that included professional snowboarding, journalism, event management, cleaning mega yachts and windsurf instructing. However in 1997 after a chance meeting in London he centred his efforts on Laughing Gear, a commentary and cabaret company set up with good friend Christian Stevenson. An intricate knowledge of the action sports world and off-the-cuff comedy established them as a unique commodity in the events market. Leigh started his snowboarding career working in Chalford based snowboard shop, Noahs Ark.

On 12 January 2007 at 5:00pm (GMT), Harry Batt appeared the first show of his long awaited series, as part of Gina's Laughing Gear on CBBC1. The show is written by Kirkby, Chapman, Steve Ryde and Julian Kemp. Also appearing on the show are Chapman, Melvin Odoom and Lee Barnett, who have also appeared with Kirkby in Dick and Dom in da Bungalow and The Slammer. It is produced by Ryde, who also produced Dick and Dom in da Bungalow and The Slammer.

Chris Chantler is a British comedy writer, occasional performer, and doom metal musician. His work includes An A-Z of The British Countryside (BBC 7), Peacefully In Their Sleeps (Radio 4), Two Posh Old Men (UKTV), The Milk Run (BBC Radio 1), and Stairlift To Heaven in the Children's BBC comedy showcase slot Gina's Laughing Gear. He also provided material for three of Howard Read's Edinburgh Festival shows. Chris has recently had success as co-writer and occasional actor in the 13 episodes of "Little Howard's Big Question" which aired on Children's BBC January 2009 through March 2009.

He also appeared in Being April, playing the role of Sinil. On 15 October 2014, Ganatra appeared in an episode of Celebrity Squares. On 25 March 2015, he featured in a comedy interview alongside comedian Paul Chowdhry in which he pretended to lose his temper and "attacked" Chowdhry.
