After Moira Lambert sang on their initial 1990 single "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" and Donna Savage was heard on the follow-up single "Kiss and Make Up," Cracknell lent her vocals to "Nothing Can Stop Us" and ended up doing the rest of the singing on their debut album Foxbase Alpha. Cracknell has been Saint Etienne's permanent vocalist since then. Preceded by the single "Anymore" in 1996, Cracknell released a solo album, Lipslide, in May 1997.

Miss Selfridge was one of the first retailers to use Kate Moss in their campaigns and has used other successful models and actresses such as Naomi Campbell, Yasmin le Bon, Tess Daly, Saffron Burrows and Nicollette Sheridan before they found major success. In 2006, to celebrate its 40th year of business, Miss Selfridge relaunched limited edition make up palettes containing some of the most successful products from the "Kiss and Make Up" make up range, which is now discontinued. A recent collaboration with Bella Freud in 2005 was short- lived. Miss Selfridge also sponsored the Victoria and Albert Museum's 1960s fashion exhibition from 6 June 2006 - 25 February 2007.

Saint Etienne were "drinking buddies" with Michael Hiscock from The Field Mice. The group recorded two demos of this song in their first studio session in January 1990, with Moira Lambert on lead vocals. Notably, they would go on to record with her what would become their first hit single, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart," in that same session. The first demo of "Kiss And Make Up" was released as a bonus track on the group's 2009 release, Foxbase Beta, a remix of their 1991 debut album, Foxbase Alpha, the second demo was released on the 25th anniversary vinyl boxset of same album.

Melanie, on the other hand, can't forgive her cop- boyfriend Pete for arresting Elka, but the two do kiss and make up, although his mother has made it known that she does not like Melanie. To add insult to injury, Melanie also finds out that Hank, the married plumber she met back in the first season, is Pete's older brother and still has feelings for her. Elka blurts out information on Melanie's past exploits with Hank at a bar, which simultaneously ends Melanie's relationship with Pete while costing Hank his marriage after his wife witnessed it all. She later finds another guy, a doctor named Aaron.

Born Laurette Rutherford in Los Angeles, she was the elder sister of the better-known actress Ann Rutherford. Arlen started her acting career in 1930 with an uncredited role in the Cecil B. DeMille film Madam Satan. She would have another uncredited role in 1933, but received two credited roles in 1934, and that year she was one of thirteen girls selected as "WAMPAS Baby Stars" (at the time, baby star was common slang for starlet), the last year that the "WAMPAS" titles were awarded. The 1934 film Kiss and Make-Up, which starred Cary Grant and co-starred fellow 1934 "WAMPAS Baby Star" Lucille Lund, would be Arlen's next to last film.

This made Blackpink the first K-pop girl group to reach the top 40 on the chart. Although she is a nurturing mother to Ginger and Carl, she is also something of a strict disciplinarian, and does not hesitate to put her foot down when she feels it is necessary; for example, in Kiss and Make-up, Ginger, Dodie, and Macie create their own make-up using crayons, pudding, and other household ingredients. Lois becomes furious at this blatant defiance, for she had already told Ginger that she was too young to wear makeup, and subsequently grounds Ginger "indefinitely" without hearing her reasoning. However, with Carl, Lois seems to have adopted a "don't ask, don't tell" philosophy. In episode 23, it is revealed that Lois has a strange fear of accountants (although mentioned in passing and never brushed up upon again).

British glam rock band Slade (pictured in 1973) was among the band's influences Kiss was strongly influenced by Alice Cooper and the New York Dolls, while Gene Simmons has stated that the band's "musical heart and soul lies in England". the Beatles and the Yardbird's trio of rock guitarists Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck were among the British acts he praised, with Simmons stating, "I've ripped off so many English riffs, if the British influence wasn't there, we wouldn't be here. 'Rock and Roll All Nite' is a direct bastard child of Slade's 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now'". In his book, Kiss and Make-Up, Simmons wrote of the glam rock group Slade, "... we liked the way they connected with the crowd and the way they wrote anthems ... we wanted that same energy, that same irresistible simplicity".

"Kiss and Make Up" was written by Dua Lipa, Chelcee Grimes, Mathieu Jomphe-Lepine, Marc Vincent, Teddy Park, Yannick Rastogi and Zacharie Raymond, with production from the latter two as Banx & Ranx. It was originally written about a year and a half before it was released, as a solo song for Lipa; the song didn't fit her album at the time, and she wanted it be a collaboration so she ultimately left it off the track list for her eponymous debut studio album (2017). After the album's release, Grimes pitched the song to other singers including Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus, but all turned it down thinking the lyrics were too immature. On 6 May 2018, Lipa performed a concert in Seoul as part of her Self-Titled Tour, where Blackpink's Jennie and Lisa were in attendance.

Moscoe was appointed as TTC chair in January 1998, and soon emerged as a prominent rival to David Gunn, the TTC's chief general manager. The two disagreed over policy issues, including the proposed purchase of low-floor buses to benefit elderly and disabled passengers: Moscoe supported the purchase, while Gunn argued that it was beyond the TTC's budget. Gunn also accused Moscoe of interfering in TTC management issues, particularly after Moscoe renegotiated a contract for condominium development at the TTC's Bayview station.
