Some tunnels were estimated to have cost $3 million to construct. On March 10, 1957, hundreds of observers looked on as the rising waters rapidly silenced the falls, submerged fishing platforms, and consumed the village of Celilo. Ancient petroglyphs were also in the area being submerged. Approximately 40 petroglyph panels were removed with jackhammers before inundation and were placed in storage before being installed in Columbia Hills State Park in the 2000s.

The Ptarmigan Tunnel was built in 1930 through the Ptarmigan Wall at an elevation of in Glacier National Park, near Many Glacier. The tunnel allows hikers to avoid a strenuous climb over very steep terrain between Many Glacier and the Belly River valley. Two opposing steel jackhammers drilling from either side of the tunnel and a series of ten-hole rounds of dynamite gradually broke through the mountain in less than three months. A wide area, originally for guide and tourist horses, extends from each portal with a masonry retaining wall.

They were to have joined the North American League as an expansion team in 2011 and are expected to join the league's Eastern Division. They were to have played their home games at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha (new home of the NCAA Division I College World Series) as early as 2011. The ballpark was also to have played host to the newly formatted NABL Championship Series, but that never materialized They were to have replaced the Joliet JackHammers, who joined the Frontier League and became the Joliet Slammers.

Matt Mazurek (born March 7, 1984) is an American baseball coach, currently serving as the head baseball coach at Canisius College. After attending Jamestown Community College, Mazurek attended college at Canisius College and played on the Canisius Golden Griffins baseball team where he was named Canisius College Male Athlete of the Year in 2006. After graduating from Canisius in 2006, Mazurek went on to a three-year career in independent baseball, playing for the Joliet JackHammers in 2007, and the Rockford RiverHawks in 2008 and 2009. Mazurek served as an assistant baseball coach at Canisius College from 2007 to 2017.

However, the notoriety of the Peanuts was largely built upon the managerial comeback of Wally Backman, who had been hired as manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks and fired four days later due to reported legal troubles. On March 4, 2008, the Peanuts announced that pitching coach Buddy York had been promoted to manager after Wally Backman departed for the Joilet Jackhammers of the Northern League.

Elmer reacts, after the dog has leapt, whining, into his lap, by employing the use of flea powder. The flea is not phased, he simply skates on the powder as if it is ice. Elmer threatens to give the dog a bath if he witnesses him scratching again, which the dog - thinking about how much he hates baths - promises not to do. A. Flea continues searching for and measuring out various selections of the dog's person; he makes use of pickaxes, jackhammers and even explosives while the dog tries to withstand the itching and the overall pain.

Hirshon Garfield developed these commercials as elaborations on tests suggested by United States Time Corporation salesmen. The commercials included high-divers, water skiers, a dolphin, dishwashers, jackhammers, paint mixers, and the propeller of an outboard motor, each torturing a Timex watch. Consumer demand increased for the watches, despite resistance from jewelers because of the low 50% markup, and Timex opened new distribution channels including department stores, cigar stands, drug stores, and other mass market outlets.

Bugs is next seen using a rotisserie to roast carrots over an open fire when Taz catches up with him after he somehow broke out of the pot and swam out of the sea. Taz quickly ties Bugs to the rotisserie and begins to cook him over the fire. Bugs (out of picture) instructs Taz to turn him faster and as Taz complies, it is revealed that he is really turning a crank of a truck engine.

The rest of the Northern League teams comprised the Central Division, and both division champions would meet in a league championship series. The merger lasted until 2002, and Northeast League teams won all four of the Northern League's championships in that time. Meanwhile, Madison's team moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2001 to become the Lincoln Saltdogs while teams were awarded to Joliet, Illinois and Gary, Indiana in 2002. The Joliet JackHammers made the playoffs in their first season while the Gary SouthShore RailCats were forced to play an entire season on the road because the city of Gary did not have their stadium completed on time. At the end of the 2002 season Miles Wolff resigned as commissioner of the Northern League to focus on his duties with the now-reinstated Northeast League.

With the end of the war the company rapidly diversified, using their factories to produce chassis and engines for the Rolland-Pilain and Piccard-Pictet cars, along with Ansaldo diesel engines, refrigerators, sewing machines and even jackhammers. In 1920 they also introduced their first motorcycle, simply known as the Gnome et Rhône 500 cc. Various models were produced up to the early 1950s, typically advertised as simply "Gnome Rhone" with no accents. By 1920 their rotary engines were no longer competitive, and they had no new designs of their own. In 1921 they took out a license for the Bristol Jupiter, which was in the process of becoming the Gnome of its era. In 1922, Paul-Louis Weiller, a World War I ace, took over the company and decided to focus it on aircraft engines once again.

Mayor Larson was on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and local band 7th Heaven entertained fans and community partners until late in the evening.
