The station first operated in 1838, and was one of the first stations on the South Western Main Line, between Ditton Marsh (now Esher) and Weybridge. The first services ran from Nine Elms to Woking Common (now Woking). The middle platforms were abandoned when slower services only used the outer tracks, leaving the inside tracks for non stop services to Woking. Abellio Surrey owned by Nederlandse Spoorwegen outside the station.

London Assembly member Murad Qureshi has called for Piccadilly line trains to stop at Ravenscourt Park on a regular basis.

The station had a subway to access the platforms from Meadowhall Road, and evidence of this can be seen of the bricked up arch in the North Western wall of the bridge abutment.

Sumiyoshi originally opened in 1874 with the extension of the Tōkaidō Main Line from Osaka to Kobe and had been a local stop until 1990. Brightside railway station is a former railway station in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The station served the communities of Brightside and Wincobank and was situated on the Midland Main Line on Holywell Road, lying between Attercliffe Road and Holmes railway station. On the portion of this branch shared by Red and Brown Line trains, Red Line trains operate express on the inside tracks, while Brown and Purple Line Express trains run local on the outer two tracks. The Red Line passes through Wellington and Diversey stations (which is served mainly by Brown Line trains) and all trains make another stop at Fullerton. After Fullerton, the Red Line descends into a portal after Armitage, and enters the State Street subway, while Brown and Purple Line express trains continue elevated for the remainder of the Main Line to Merchandise Mart, where they cross the Wells Street Bridge and enter the Loop at Tower 18.
