Formerly known as the Justus Aquatic Center it opened January 1985 as a business venture combining a hotel with a sporting venue. It was the first aquatic, fitness and hotel complex, of its kind. Financial problems plagued the center from the beginning. In 1988, there was a brief closure of the facility as it was taken in receivership by the Great Western Bank.
In 2012 the property was run by Wallco Pastoral Company until it was placed in receivership by the National Australia Bank before a refinancing. Killarney was sold in 2014 to the Jumbuck Pastoral Company for about 35 million. At the time it occupied an area of . Most of Birrimba and a small portion of Killarney were burnt out by a bushfire in 2014.
KOVO, Inc., received the construction permit for a radio station on 96.1 MHz in Provo on May 9, 1966. The new FM outlet took the call letters KFMC and signed on February 14, 1968. KOVO and KFMC were placed in receivership in 1973, after Glenn C. Shaw sued co-owner Ashley J. Robison asking for a financial accounting of KOVO, Inc.
The following day, Lee engaged E. E. Reilly of Kingston to build a new breaker.Wilkes-Barre Times Leader, January 29, 1923. At the end of 1936, the George F. Lee Coal Co. still worked both the Chauncey mine and breaker,Sunday Independent, December 27, 1936. producing 38,712 tons of coal, but by 1940, the company was bankrupt and in receivership.
The plant went into administration. In January 2003, the administrators, Pricewaterhousecoopers, successfully restarted the power plant. It was the first time a power station had been commercially running whilst in receivership. In October 2003, the plant was bought by Gaz de France (GdF), being their only power station in the UK until the company bought the Teesside power station in February 2008.

In 1881 Hughes' built two gauge 0-4-0STs for the Liverpool Corporation Waterworks Committee for use in the construction of the waterworks at Lake Vyrnwy in Wales. In 1881 the company ran into legal problems and in 1882 it was in receivership. Hughes departed, soon after, for New Zealand, where in collaboration with local engineer E.W Mills, he built small tramway engines.
By the mid-1970s the Canadian dollar had climbed to over US$1 and exports were less competitive. Many other companies had also entered the boat- building market and provided a lot of competition, resulting in diminished sales. The company was placed in receivership and closed in 1977. They are currently in receivership as a result of an inability to pay vendors. They carry 4.8 million in debt and only have (high estimate) 2.6 million in assets.

MacAir Airlines Pty Ltd was a regional airline based in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It operated scheduled passenger services throughout Queensland from major regional locations, as well as regular and ad hoc charters for the minerals industry in Queensland. Its main operations base was Townsville International Airport, with hubs at Cairns International Airport, Brisbane Airport and Mount Isa Airport. In January 2009, the airline was placed in receivership.
In May 2019, NCCL signed a binding all-cash offer of US$50 million to acquire the Kenyan assets and all subsidiaries of ARM Cement Plc. (In Receivership), as a going concern. The offer requires regulatory approval in Kenya. The ARM acquisition will be funded with US$25 million in internally generated cash and loans from the International Finance Corporation and Kenya Commercial Bank Group.
In July 2013, Pike River Coal was ordered to pay $110,000 to each of the victims' families and fined $760,000.$110,000 awarded to Pike River victims, families, although it was in receivership and therefore likely to be insolvent. 3 News NZ. 5 July 2013. In the end it did not pay the fine and only paid $5,000 to each family, saying it did not have the money.
After the war, Mabry continued championing railroad construction. Working with fellow Confederate- turned-Unionist Charles McClung McGhee, Mabry helped extend the Knoxville and Kentucky Railroad to modern Caryville, providing invaluable railroad access to the lucrative coalfields of western Anderson County. By 1869, however, the railroad was bankrupt and placed in receivership. Mabry's fortunes began to decline, and in subsequent years he fell deeply into debt.

It also once owned interests in Perpetual Insurance and Securities, owner of Eastlands Shopping Centre which increased from 83 % to 91 % in 1973-1974 and also in Co-Operative Motors Ltd, manufacturer of Toyota, Triumph Motor Company, Mercedes Benz and Rambler. After suffering financial difficulties, the company was placed in receivership in 2001 and the Charles Davis name was bought by Davis's great-great granddaughter for $A120.
At the request of the city, from 8 February 2010 the building was in receivership to solve the problem of its further use more quickly. Apart from a reopening as a department store, use as a museum was also discussed. The vacant building was repeatedly a victim of vandalism. A citizen's initiative has even formed to rescue the department store; however, it has not found a solution.
The grand schemes of the W&CBR; were never to be implemented, however and the railway was placed in receivership in 1895. A new company, the Chesapeake Beach Railway Company, took up the idea in 1896. In 1897 Otto Mears was placed in control of the company. He started construction in October 1897 at B & O's Alexandria branch north of present Deane Avenue between Benning and Kenilworth.
Somewhat despondent over the sudden death of his wife in 1923, Westcott saw his own health begin to fail. The Westcott Motor Car Company was placed in receivership in January 1925, and was sold at auction to a syndicate of local Springfield businessmen in April of that year. After a series of illnesses, Burton Westcott died in his home on East High Street on January 10, 1926.
The line was never commercially successful, and a break with the IoWCR in 1913 obliged the FY&NR; hastily to build its own Newport station and acquire locomotives and rolling stock while in receivership. Sales increased from 4 to 60 million euros under her direction. She was named the 1992 Entrepreneur of the Year by champagne house Veuve Clicquot. Six months after leaving her father's construction company, it was in receivership.
Another feature of the Market during this period was the Christmas market for turkeys. Through much of its history (1897 - 1988) the Limerick Market Trustees was in receivership the longest receivership period in Irish history. Following the release of the Trustees from receivership an ambitious renovation of the Milk Market was undertaken. This project won a European Heritage Award and it was reopened on September 1, 1995.
In 1908, the South Western Traction Company was in receivership and was purchased at auction by J. MacDougall of London. A consortium of businessmen led by G.B Woods of Toronto purchased the line from Mr. MacDougall and formed the London and Lake Erie Railway and Navigation Company. The first manager of the company was Mr. S.W. Mower. The company prospered, with both freight and passenger revenues up.
Georgetown and Western Sold, New York Times, January 30, 1900 The Georgetown and Western was in receivership from 1902 to 1912. The Seaboard Air Line Railway took an interest in the carrier and gave it financial assistance. In May 1915, the Georgetown and Western Railroad was absorbed by the Carolina, Atlantic and Western Railroad, which became part of Seaboard Air Line Railway later that year.

Fox Film, with more than 500 theatres, was placed in receivership. A bank-mandated reorganization propped the company up for a time, but it soon became apparent that despite its size, Fox could not stand on its own. William Fox resented the way he was forced out of his company and portrayed it as an active conspiracy against him in the 1933 book Upton Sinclair Presents William Fox.
Among the losses sustained during his directorship was some $4 million in overvaluation of a property purchased by the company from Summers' wife. After large and increasing losses each year from 1990 to 1993 the company was placed in receivership by a consortium of creditor banks. Bennett & Fisher Limited was purchased by a company headed by Kerry Stokes and Ken Cowley, and restructured as R. M. Williams Holdings Ltd. in 1995.

It was advertising its steam cars as the Locomotor steam carriage. In 1903 Baldwin announced it was constructing a new manufacturing plant in Morgantown, West Virginia.
A new Board with impeccable backgrounds was recruited. The new board wrote a letter to the Provincial Industry Minister asking for the Province's support for several important, deal-breaking issues. The two main issues were help in getting additional insurance for the board of directors and amending the Crocus Act to ease pacing and cash reserve requirements. The Province abstained, the directors resigned and the Fund was placed in receivership.
Cookeville residents could now travel all the way to Minnesota via 10-hour train ride. After Baxter's death in 1904, the Tennessee Central continued to struggle with financing. It attempted lease arrangements with both the Illinois Central and Southern Railroad, but by 1908 these arrangements had been abandoned. In 1912, the Tennessee Central was placed in receivership, and in subsequent years was reorganized with more of a focus on freight traffic.

"Carroll shrugs off rumours", The Observer, 1 July 1990, The Observer, p. 26. The technically ambitious project to build the Galleria shopping centre above the A1(M) motorway at Hatfield, Hertfordshire, was budgeted at £50 million but cost £90 million by the time it was finished 18 months late. Carroll refinanced the project and injected £30 million. It opened in 1991 but bankers Samuel Montagu placed the scheme in receivership in 1992.
In January 2013 the company was sued by the FTC and the Attorneys General of Kentucky, Illinois, and North Carolina. The company's Kentucky offices were raided, and the company was placed in receivership. At that time the company reported having 160,000 independent representatives. The FTC's complaint alleged that the bulk of profit made by affiliates was from recruiting more affiliates, and not from sales, which is a defining trait of pyramid schemes.
That evening, the Guernsey subsidiary of Landsbanki went into voluntary administration with the approval of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. The administrators would later say that "The main reason for the Bank's difficulties has been the placing of funds with its UK fellow subsidiary, Heritable Bank." Guernsey's Chief Minister stated "the directors of Landsbanki Guernsey took appropriate steps by putting the bank into administration." The FME placed Landsbanki in receivership early on 7 October.
Hibernia Networks' transatlantic cable system was originally built in 2000 by Tyco Submarine Systems for 360networks for $962M. It was placed in receivership in 2001, purchased in 2003 and began carrying traffic in 2005. In 2007 Hibernia announced that Huawei Technologies USA had been selected to upgrade Hibernia's 24,520 kilometers of the submarine and terrestrial network throughout the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe. In December 2009, Hibernia Networks acquired managed network services company MediaXstream.
In 2000, the Starr County Historical Foundation sold KTLM to Sunbelt Multimedia, a division of the Starr Camargo Bridge Company, unrelated to Sunbelt Communications Company. Sunbelt Multimedia had been managing the station since its launch. On September 10, 2012, Sunbelt Multimedia put KTLM up for sale, with Patrick Communications managing partner Larry Patrick named to run the station while in receivership. Documents were forwarded to the FCC to officially put the station under Patrick's control.
Because David Snyder was chairman and CEO of both SIBG and Frederick Brewing Company, a special committee was created in order to evaluate the merger proposal. Sometime in 2001 SIBG took over the company. In 2001 Frederick Brewing Company was unable to pay the increased water and sewage fees that Frederick County was charging. In January of either 2002 or 2003 it was placed in receivership (along with Blue II) in Ohio.

Michigan's railroad commissioner assessed the company's situation thus in 1887: Indeed, the company remained in receivership for over two years, during which time it did not operate, until new investors bought the property on May 7, 1889. The reorganized company took the name St. Joseph Valley Railway. The new company rebuilt the line to standard gauge and ordered new rolling stock. Passenger service resumed on August 5, 1889.
Aigle Azur was a French airline based and headquartered at Paris Orly Airport. The airline operated scheduled flights from France to 21 destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, with a fleet of Airbus A320 family and A330 aircraft. The airline filed for bankruptcy and was placed in receivership on 2 September 2019. Takeover bids were received, but none proved viable and the airline was liquidated by the court on 27 September 2019.
In November 1972, the Securities and Exchange Commission sued Goldstein, Samuelson, Inc., charging fraudulent misrepresentations and omissions in the sale of some options. The suit was settled by a consent decree. The CGT split into the conservative Azopardo branch (named after the headquarters' address in Buenos Aires), and the CGT de los Argentinos (CGTA) following the annulment of left-wing graphist workers' leader Raimundo Ongaro as secretary general. The eventual Cordobazo of May 1969 led to the CGT-Azopardo's placement in receivership (the CGTA had been banned from the start), though in December, the order was lifted.Potash, Robert. The railway quickly fell into financial problems and on September 5, 1900 was placed in receivership. In July 1901 the SF&GC; was sold under foreclosure to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The ATSF quickly began construction of the fifteen remaining miles of track to extend the line to the Grand Canyon. The line to the Grand Canyon was completed on September 16, 1901, and was renamed the Grand Canyon Railway.
However, three years after approving the stipulation as an order of the court, the court conducted an evidentiary hearing that revealed the continued existence of appalling conditions arising from defendants' failure to provide adequate medical care to California inmates. As a result, the court ruled in June 2005 and issued an order on October 3, 2005 putting the CDCR's medical health care delivery system in receivership. The receivership became effect in April 2006.
Uchumi closed down, albeit temporarily, and was placed in receivership during June 2006 after 30 years of business. It was simultaneously de-listed from the NSE. At the time, its closure was described as "one of the greatest corporate disasters in independent Kenya history". A government-led rescue plan, however, was initiated and consequently five Uchumi outlets, all in Nairobi, were reopened on 15 July 2006 under interim management and a caretaker administrator.
The Industrial Savings Bank flourished during the 1920s, and in 1929 merged with the Union Trust and Savings Bank. The new bank, the Union Industrial Trust and Savings Bank, began construction on a new building (now the home of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation). The bank continued operations into the Great Depression, but like many banks experienced troubles, and closed permanently in 1933. The bank's assets, including the 1922 building, were placed in receivership.
When the C&EI; floundered in the early 1920s, Charles F. Propst purchased the Coal Road and in October 1922 incorporated it as the Chicago, Attica and Southern Railroad. The CA&S; was placed in receivership on August 5, 1931, and incremental abandonment occurred over subsequent years. The line through Pine Village was scrapped in the fall of 1945, and the rails were pulled up using a Belgian horse and a block and tackle.

The long-stroke engines encouraged by the tax regime, 72 x 102 later 72 x 114.5, had much greater low- speed torque than the bhp rating suggests.
The Federal Farm Loan Act of 1916 provided for the establishment of 12 FLBs to provide long-term mortgage credit to farmers and ranchers, and later to rural homebuyers. On May 20, 1988, the FLB of Jackson was placed in receivership and liquidated. On July 6, 1988, the 11 remaining FLBs merged with the Federal Intermediate Credit Banks in their respective districts to form Farm Credit Banks. The mergers were required by the Agricultural Credit Act of 1987.
For some lending, the interest was capitalised into the loan debt, so borrowers did not have to immediately fund interest payments. In June 2010, Allan Hubbard stood down as Chairman of South Canterbury Finance and was replaced by Bill Baylis. On 31 August 2010, South Canterbury Finance asked its trustee to place it in receivership after negotiations over a recapitalisation deal failed. The Government immediately paid out investors $NZ1.6 billion under the Government's Retail Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
The corporation was placed in receivership after an equity suit was instituted against it by the Monmouth Securities Company, a New Jersey holding company. The assets of J.B. Greenhut & Company amounted to $18,179,964 and its liabilities were a total of $12,703,364. The business' largest creditor was William Waldorf Astor, the lessor of the real estate on which J.B. Greenhut & Company's primary building was located. The lease was due to expire in 1925 and amounted to $562,069.
In September 2013, it was announced that Aigle Azur would start seasonal flights from Paris to Beja but the airline filed for bankruptcy and was placed in receivership on 2 September 2019. As of September 2012, the future of the airport remains uncertain. The authorities are studying the possibility of reconverting the airport to cargo use. While the airport has no scheduled passenger flights, it is used by Hi Fly and its Maltese subsidiary for parking aircraft.
In 1981, after leaving the House Banking Committee, Hyde went on the board of directors of Clyde Federal Savings and Loan, whose Chairman was one of Hyde's political contributors. According to Salon.com, from 1982 until he left the board in 1984, Hyde used his position on the board of directors to promote the savings and loan's investment in risky financial options. In 1990, the federal government put Clyde in receivership, and paid $67 million to cover insured deposits.
The building was completed on behalf of DFO's parent company Austexx by construction firm Contexx Pty Ltd in September 2008 at an approximate cost of $100 million. In March 2012, it was announced the Canberra DFO was being placed in receivership by its struggling parent company and offered for sale, however no announcement has been made to date about a buyer for the complex which continues to trade. In 2013, it was renamed Canberra Outlet Centre.

In 1982 and 1983, the nonprofit pioneered the use of receivership as a means of redeveloping abandoned property. An extensive legal analysis conducted by UMDC revealed that title to many abandoned but inhabitable properties was unclear. A large number of these properties had several owners, who often could not be located. Dstore went into liquidation for the second time in September 2015. The original dstore was established in January 1999 and was originally backed by some of the biggest names in Australian business including the founder of LookSmart, Evan Thornley, and Kerry Packer's ninemsn. It was sold for an undisclosed sum to the Harris Scarfe group in November 2000. In April 2001, Harris Scarfe was placed in receivership and dstore was offered for sale by receivers and managers, Ferrier Hodgson.
The company ran into trouble during the late 1990s due to rising debts and management issues. In April 2001, the business was placed in receivership. Unsecured creditors were owed $93 million, and the company was $50 million in debt. In June 2002, the company's former chief financial officer, Alan Hodgson, was sentenced to six years in jail, on multiple counts that included giving false information to the ASX, and failing to act honestly as a company officer.
By 2005, the situation was too much, and the brothers declared bankruptcy; the once-proud Novelo's Line went into receivership. Even in receivership the company remained unable to lift itself out of trouble, and it went down in December. Meanwhile, the brothers planned to get back into the transport business under a new name: National Transport. This new company would run mainly to the West and North, and in Belize City, under the name Belize In Transit Services.
The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), which covers the city except for Sheffield Village, operates most of Oakland's public schools. Due to financial troubles and administrative failures, it was in receivership by the state of California from 2002 to 2008. , the Oakland Unified School District includes 86 division- run schools and 32 charter schools; the district also manages several adult education programs. there are 48,181 K–12 students; among division-run schools, there are 4,600 plus employees.
Aigle Azur filed for bankruptcy and was placed in receivership on 2 September 2019, while it continued to operate flights. Flights to Mali, Brazil and Portugal were suspended as of 5 September, and ticket sales ceased for all flights after 10 September. Later on 5 September, the receiver decided to suspend all flights as of the evening of 6 September, citing the company's financial situation and operational difficulties. A deadline of 9 September was set for takeover offers.
However, the station soon encountered financial difficulties and the station was placed in receivership. In February 1984, the license was involuntarily transferred from the Davidson Broadcasting Corporation to Larry G. Womack, acting as receiver. The FCC approved the move on February 15, 1984, and it was consummated on March 9, 1984. A buyer was quickly found and in September 1984, Larry G. Womack filed an application with the FCC to transfer WHLP to Richard Wayne Durham.
On the 10 May 1999, Joyces 365 opened a new shop in Knocknacarra and in 2005 open a third store in Athenry. In June 2008, Joyces 365 became the supply chain of Nisa in Ireland. In November 2010 Joyces 365 announced that they would be opening a supermarket in the Tuam shopping centre. In July 2014, Joyces took over a SuperValu Store in Inverin, "Siopa an Phobail", that had been in receivership for more than two years.
Consequently, the deal finally collapsed and Saab was forced to file for bankruptcy. According to Spyker, the actions taken by GM were not legal. Since Saab had been in receivership since the bankruptcy, and would be until the deal with Nevs was closed, Spyker and the receivers of Saab Automobile had entered into an agreement where Spyker would bear the costs of the litigation in exchange for 90% of the claim if the case is successful.
With the parent company in receivership, a committee of bondholders and local supporters called for public control of the Rochester Lines. A reorganization plan was submitted to the courts in 1937, and in 1938 the new Rochester Transit Corporation (RTC) took over the operation of all former Rochester Railway Company bus and rail transit franchises. A year later, the Genesee, Lyell, South, St. Paul, Seneca Park, and Summerville lines were closed on May 23, 1939. Rochester Transit Corp.
Ogden thereafter took over the management of the company's operations. On 13 September 2004, nearly four months under Ogden's stewardship, East African Safari Air and East African Safari Air Express were placed in receivership, a month after only US$2,000,000 was purportedly paid in by Four Ninety Investments Limited, only one third of the US$6,000,000 required for the airline's recovery needs. At that time the airline was ferrying approx 25,000 passengers per month on various routes.
A spokesperson for the Singapore Flyer said: "The giant observation wheel in Berlin is separate from the Singapore Flyer and it is separately owned and operated. Great Wheel Corporation is also a separate entity from the Singapore Flyer. Any investigations relating to the Berlin wheel and Great Wheel Corporation have no effect on and no relationship with the Singapore Flyer's operations and finances." On 28 May 2013, the Singapore Flyer announced that it was in receivership.
The Apache Railway was incorporated in 1917, when it began construction of a rail line from Holbrook south, reaching Snowflake in 1918. It was extended south to McNary in 1920. From October 1, 1931, until 1936, amid the Great Depression, the APA was placed in receivership. A tourist railroad, the White Mountain Scenic Railroad, operated steam powered passenger excursions over the Southwest Forest Industries-owned line from McNary to the logging camp of Maverick, AZ, beginning in 1964.
The Bedford TK was a truck manufactured by Bedford. Launched in 1960 to replace the Bedford S type, the TK was scheduled to be replaced by the Bedford TL in 1981, but manufacturing of the TK continued as a cheaper alternative. A military 4x4 version, the Bedford MK (later MJ), was also produced. After Bedford's Dunstable factory was sold in 1987 to AWD, the TK restarted production for military only use until 1992 when AWD was placed in receivership.
In April 2005 it was reported that the partnership deal with SAIC was in trouble because the British Government had decided to withdraw its offer of a £120 million loan to keep the deal going. On 7 April 2005 the company announced that it was suspending production because of component shortages. Later in the day, it was announced by Patricia Hewitt, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, that the company was being placed in receivership.
Even though Seattle–Tacoma was big enough on paper to support two independent stations, channel 13 increasingly lost ground to KTNT-TV, which had a stronger signal and much wealthier ownership that could afford stronger programming. Plagued by numerous lawsuits from unpaid syndication suppliers who reclaimed most of their programming from the station, KTVW's ratings plummeted and remaining advertisers deserted the operation. Blaidon was forced into bankruptcy protection. Program suppliers had asked a district court judge to place the station in receivership.
After a financial audit in 1988, an executive of the trust assumed control of the operation. In the late 1980s rising costs and a shrinking market caused the closure of many boat manufacturers, including Quebec-based Tanzer Industries and Mirage Yachts. The day after the end of the 1990 Toronto International Boat Show, C&C; had announced that it needed a cash infusion. The company was again placed in receivership in September, with no prospective buyers and the creditors seeking payment of debts.
The House of Lords held there was no priority for the liquidator’s expenses, and that Re Barleycorn Enterprises Ltd was wrongly decided. Lord Nicholls gave the first judgment, saying that section 175(2)(b) and its predecessors had never authorised liquidators’ costs and expenses. Lord Hoffmann held that when a company was in receivership and liquidation, the company’s former assets were comprised in two separate funds, each with its own costs of administration. Neither should bear the costs of administering the other.
Hickory Street Capital, a venture of the Ricketts family, took a stake in the Down the Line Rooftop (3621-3625 Sheffield Ave.) along with right of first refusal in 2010. James and Camelia Petrozzini moved their share of Down the Line to a living trust then the Petrozzini died in 2014. Hickory Street sued that the trust transfer violated the right of first refusal. Ricketts family ventures outright purchased seven rooftop buildings while purchase the mortgages on three Sheffield rooftop properties in receivership.
The state's prison medical care system has been in receivership since 2006, when a federal court ruled in Plata v. Brown that the state failed to provide a constitutional level of medical care to its prisoners. Since 2009, the state has been under court order to reduce prison overcrowding to no higher than 137.5% of total design capacity. "The state spends millions of dollars each year in class-action litigation costs alone", often related to overcrowding or inadequate health care.
Jules Mastbaum, owner of a movie theater chain (The Stanley Company of America), acquired the building in 1925 and renamed it the Arena. In 1927 the Arena was purchased by Rudy Fried and Maurice Fishman who operated the facility until 1934, when their partnership was placed in receivership. In 1929, Peter A. Tyrrell (1896–1973) joined the Arena as boxing matchmaker and subsequently became the facility's publicist. In 1934 Tyrrell was named a friendly receiver-in-equity by George Welsh, a federal judge.
A second PA-14 was completed on 6 February 1948 and the first customer deliveries were made later that year. 238 examples were completed,Simpson pp. 230–231 most being sold to private owner pilots in the United States, but overseas sales included several to France. The aircraft was launched at a time of serious financial difficulty for the company, and indeed, soon after the release of the Family Cruiser, Piper was placed in receivership, from which it later successfully emerged.
The start of the Civil War shortly after the completion of the line saw it converted to military use and it quickly became a military target for both sides during the war. Following the conflict the M&O; had to be almost entirely rebuilt and was facing near total financial ruin due in part to an unpaid debt of $5,228,562 that had been owed by the Confederate government. It was placed in receivership in 1875 and did not emerge until eight years later.
Shortly after, Hunter took a position as a junior officer with the First Exchange Bank of Inglewood.Knowles. Hunter. p. 77. This bank was taken over by the state of California and placed in receivership in January 1932.Knowles. Hunter. p. 84. For the next two years, Hunter filled several odd jobs, including working as a bridge painter and a laundry detergent peddler. In 1934, he managed to get a position as a title examiner with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
Prison Industry Authority facilities The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) operates 35 prisons in California, with a design capacity of 85,083 incarcerated people. CDCR both owns and operates 34 of the state prisons; it additionally operates California City Correctional Facility, a prison leased from CoreCivic. The state's prison medical care system has been in receivership since 2006, when a federal court ruled in Plata v. Brown that the state failed to provide a constitutional level of medical care to its prisoners.
The company was placed in receivership, and the government seized GTR's stock. It was later alleged that Hays had deceived the company's London directors in 1903 by committing them to conditions in the railway's agreements with the Canadian government for the building of the GTP to which they did not agree. That scheme was blamed for the company's collapse. The railroad car in which his body was transported back to Montreal is preserved at the Canadian Railway Museum, near Delson, Quebec.
The SLS&E; was placed in receivership on June 26, 1893, and was sold in foreclosure on May 16, 1896., also to distinguish from following Speidel reported that Villard abruptly made a hostile takeover while the SLS&E; was a going concern in 1890, in the midst of maneuvering among railroad business magnate Henry Villard of the Northern Pacific, James J. Hill of what became the Great Northern Railway, and the Seattle Establishment (1873–1900 and later).Speidel, pp. 154, 166, 205.
An auction sale was advertised in July 1891, clearly with the intention of selling it as a going concern—there is information about a lease of the tramway right-of-way up to 1893. This time the Ballarat foundry is not included in the sale. Nobody turned up to this July 1891 auction. The railways were then asked to remove the tramway rails—which they in effect owned—and the company (in receivership) asked for more time to remove its equipment from the lease.
Simms was appointed consulting engineer to the new business but was not to be on the board of directors, possibly because he had become a director of the Cannstatt firm. One of the duties assigned to Simms was to find a suitable location for the factory. The CNoR entered financial difficulty during World War I and the IR&C; defaulted on interest payments for its debt on May 1, 1915. The IR&C; was placed in receivership under the National Trust Company and continued to operate the coal mines and railway much as before. On June 23, 1919 the Eastern Trust Company took over as receiver. The IR&C; saw the mines spun off by the receivers over the years and the coal loading port at Port Hastings declined in use.
The BHIR had long been in receivership and as part of a capital reconstruction it changed its name to the Brading Harbour and Railway Company (BHR) by Act of 14 August 1896. The railway part of the business was not much affected, but the United Realisation Company, a finance house which now owned the BHR, offered to sell the railway and quays to the IoWR. A price was agreed and the Isle of Wight (Brading Harbour and Railway) Act of 2 August 1898 session authorised the transfer.

Contrary to the administration's claims during the debate over the repeal bill, the repeal failed to restore investor confidence.Welch, 124 Hundreds of banks and other businesses failed, and 25 percent of the nation's railroads were in receivership by 1895.
A resort community of 225 lots was developed. Due to the recession of the early 80s the resort encountered financial difficulties and ownership was transferred to the provincial government via the British Columbia Development Corporation. A new company then acquired the ski hill, operating under the name Hemlock Valley Resorts Inc (HVRI). In 2004-2005 there was not enough snow for the resort to open."No snow closes Hemlock Resort for the season" The resort remained closed for the 2005-2006 season due to being in receivership.
Although there is some contention as to whether this strategy would have helped, the attempt was made moot by the 1987 stock market crash. Worlds of Wonder filed for bankruptcy protection and was liquidated in 1988NY Times article about the bankruptcy petition and went through a series of layoffs. The creditors continued to operate the company in receivership until finally closing its doors in late 1990. This period of operation only involved selling off existing inventory and no new toys were developed or manufactured.
Throughout the 1860s, Mabry consistently quarrelled with Knoxville attorney John Baxter, who accused Mabry of opportunism and profiteering during the war. In 1869, after the Knoxville and Kentucky was placed in receivership, Baxter sued Mabry, claiming that Mabry had practically pillaged the company. The two assailed one another in the press, and filed libel suits and counter libel suits against one another. Finally, on June 13, 1870, Mabry approached Baxter in front of the Lamar House Hotel, stated, "Business is business," and shot Baxter in the wrist.
N.S. announces wind turbine plant The venture operated at the site using the logo DSTN and manufacturing towers for wind turbines, subsea structures for tidal power facilities, and pressure vessels for the oil and gas sector. The company was put in receivership in the spring of 2016, owing the Nova Scotia government $56 Million. the receivers were still looking for a buyer, with the commitment of $150,000 per month from the government to maintain the property expiring at the end of the fiscal year.
Pie Face went in receivership again in late 2016, and closed eleven company-owned stores. As at 24 November 2016 approximately 26 franchised stores remained open. In January 2017 it was reported that the chain was nearing profitability, and now had 30 franchised stores and intended to expand overseas again with a focus on Japan and South Korea. However, it continued to have debts of $9 million, including $1 million owed to staff, and was facing a motion to be wound up for unpaid debts.
Preferred stock of the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad Company, issued 1. July 1882 On July 1, 1879, the F± went into receivership, owing $1,200,000 in unpaid interest on bonds with bonded interest accumulating at a rate of $385,000 a year. Gross revenues had declined every year since the Panic of 1873, a situation exacerbated by the crash of the lumber market in July 1877. The company remained in receivership until September 30, 1880, when it was reorganized as the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad.
Construction started in Chipley that year, initially using a few miles of right-of-way previously graded for the Dothan, Hartford and Florida Railroad. Approximately of track from Chipley to Macon, Florida were completed by 1908. The railroad was placed in receivership that year, and was still under receivership in 1927. Another of track were laid in late 1911 and early 1912, extending from Macon to Tiller, Florida, where a connection was made to a track owned by the Sales-Davis Company, a lumber company.
Almost immediately, the BL&R; had defaulted on its mortgage bonds and was placed in receivership in 1909. In 1911, Clifford D. Beebe (1866–1937) purchased the BL&R; and placed it under the common management of his other associated interurban lines, known collectively as the "Beebe Syndicate." That summer, service was extended to Olcott Beach over the tracks of International Railway Co. connecting to a leased steamship providing ferry service to Toronto. This service came to an end after the close of the 1914 sailing season.
The Syracuse and East Side Street Railway, an interurban rail in Syracuse, New York, was chartered on August 25, 1894, and was a successor to the Syracuse, Eastwood Heights and DeWitt Railroad Company. The company was also known as the Syracuse and East Side Railroad. The company went bankrupt and was placed in receivership on May 11, 1898, and on December 29, 1898, the property was purchased by the bondholders. The East Side Traction Company was chartered on January 14, 1899 after a reorganization.
After repeated violations of a stipulated agreement and order for injunctive relief, the CDCR was held in civil contempt and the medical health care system was placed in receivership. The case was consolidated with Coleman v. Schwarzenegger and assigned to a three-judge court on July 26, 2007 to hear motions for relief pursuant to the Prison Litigation Reform Act. An order to reduce the prison population was entered on January 12, 2010, which California claims is unconstitutional in its appeal before the Supreme Court.
In 2010, Pescarolo Sport did not race at all, the company being eventually disbanded on July 13 after having been in receivership in June. Though, OAK Racing, still partnered with Mazda France, competed in the Le Mans Series season, with two Evo chassis' in LMP2 category. On 15 October 2010, during the asset sale of Pescarolo Sport, OAK Racing owner Jacques Nicolet and Prestige Racing’s Joël Rivière joined forces to purchase the lots, later presenting them to Henri Pescarolo and thus allowing him to revive his team.
Abitibi Canyon Generating Station In 19271928, Abitibi financed a large redemption of its securities through a $55 million bond offering, while simultaneously promising an annual dividend of $4 million to its common shareholders. Between 1927 and 1934, newsprint prices fell from $70/tonne to $40/tonne. Abitibi was forced to run its mills at 28.4% of capacity in 1932 and 26.8% in 1933, as well as suspending its dividend payments. Abitibi defaulted on its mortgage bond interest payments on June 1, 1932, and was placed in receivership.

One of the main industries served was the Union-Buffalo Mills Company, which was also owned by Duncan.Wikipedia, WikiProject Trains, ICC valuations, Union and Glenn Springs Railroad In 1905 the line was placed in receivership, with Columbia, South Carolina, businessman Edwin Robertson serving as receiver.Legacy of Leadership, Edwin Wales Robertson The line was renamed the Buffalo Union- Carolina Railroad in 1922.
"Mount Vernon Street Design", Boston Redevelopment Authority, 2014 On March 30, 2015 the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate was dedicated by President Barack Obama, with Vice President Joe Biden in attendance. The Institute has been open to the public since March 31, 2015. In 2018, discussions opened up as to what to do with the two Boston Public schools on Columbia Point: Dever Elementary School, which was in receivership, and the McCormack Middle School. There were plans for a high school to be placed there.
They ran on-air announcements "The all-new 24 Hour, Twice the Power WKND 1230 AM". 1480 then took the WNEZ call letters from 1230 AM and became Urban Gospel-formatted "Heaven 1480" for a few months, and then became Spanish Oldies "La X 1480". WNEZ 1480 soon joined its sister stations WLAT and WKND at 330 Main Street in Hartford. Freedom Communications ended up in receivership, and in 2007, WKND and its R&B; Oldies format reverted to 1480, with 1230 going back to WNEZ and a Spanish language format.
Stargate: Resistance (abbreviated as SGR) is an online, third-person shooter owned and operated by Dark Comet Games, powered by the Unreal 3 engine, and based on the television series Stargate SG-1. It was announced in December 2009 and originally released in 2010 by Firesky and Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, however Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment has been in receivership since March 2010. Since then, Firesky entered into an agreement with Dark Comet Games for the maintenance, operation and development of Stargate Resistance. The game has sold over 51,000 copies and new downloadable content is being released.
A golf complex, previously the Citywest and Hibernian Golf Club, and now simply Citywest Golf Resort, was laid-out, and then the Citywest Hotel, the largest in Ireland, with over 764 rooms, was built adjacent. The hotel, golf resort and related developments were placed in receivership in mid-2010 but remained open. There are two 18-hole courses in the golf resort - both designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr - and it hosted the Irish Masters in 1994 and the Irish Ladies Masters in 1996. The hotel has a 4,000 seat convention centre.
This structure lasted three years, until December 1999 when the Board of Directors of the company resolved to dismantle the Fletcher Challenge and establish separate companies. In 2000 the Canadian pulp and paper assets were sold to Norske Skog to form NorskeCanada. In 2001 Fletcher Challenge was split into three companies, Fletcher Challenge Forests (later renamed Tenon), Fletcher Building (incorporating Fletcher Construction), and Rubicon. A September 1996 investment in Central North Island Forest Partnership ended in receivership and is said to have contributed to the break up of Fletcher Challenge.
Over time, the construction of modern roads and railways meant that small boats were mainly used for recreation, although in more remote areas they are still needed for transportation. In the late 2000s, a serious economic recession in North America left consumers with little money to spend on recreation. At the same time, the exchange rate between the Canadian and American dollar soared, making it expensive to buy raw materials and imported parts for boats. Many large longstanding companies went out of business, including Grew Manufacturing"Grew Manufacturing now in receivership".
KLUQ (93.3 FM) is a commercial radio station in Hermann, Missouri, broadcasting to the western suburbs of the Saint Louis, Missouri, area. KLUQ is currently in receivership after being repossessed from Twenty One Sound Communications, which was wholly owned by Randy Wachter, who founded the station. KLUQ is currently running on a Special Temporary Authority at a power of 1,000 Watts from a tower near Warrenton, Missouri and is simulcasting Americana music programming from KWUL 101.7 in Elsberry, Missouri. From 2017 to January 2019 it aired a format of hard Christian rock music.
This was done to give Polity the opportunity to concentrate on reforming the internal structure and governing documents without the burden of appropriating SAF money to student clubs and organizations. In 1995, several business people acquired a 60% stake in United Bank (Kenya), after paying approximately US$1.23 million (Kenya Shillings 95 million). At that time the bank's headquarters were located in the western town of Kisumu, approximately , by road, northwest of Nairobi, Kenya's capital and largest city. At that time, United Bank (Kenya) was in receivership and was under statutory administration by the Central Bank of Kenya, the country's banking regulator. Its paid-up capital, then, was approximately US$970,000 and it had an asset base valued at approximately US$1.9 million.
In 1837 they built a cotton mill and silk production facility on property purchased from the Ellicott brothers. The 100 employee mill building was built of locally quarried stone along with at least five stone buildings to support laborers and a general store. The company expanded production with the purchase of the Ilchester flour mill in 1882, but lost the facility in receivership in 1892. In 1895, the current owner and operator of the mill W.H. Kerr drowned when attempting to rescue his son who fell off his yacht in Annapolis.
Disc jockeys included George Scott, Jack Dey, Jim Hutton, Paul B. Mundt, and Jim Spero (who also served as program director). Van Dyke and Lavin sold KXIV in 1982 to local real estate developer Michael Levin, who relaunched the station with a news/talk format as KSUN, featuring personalities from ABC's TalkRadio Network, NBC's Talknet and audio from CNN2. The call letters had been sold to Levin by the previous KSUN in Bisbee, at the time silent and in receivership. Hourly discount auctions through a segment called "BarterBank" were also heavily advertised.
He also acquired a minority (15%) interest that year in Mike Weir Wines in Beamsville, Ontario, before buying full control in 2017. Mike Weir Wines was placed in receivership, owing $6.5 million ($2.2 to Weir and $4.3 to the Royal Bank of Canada), in February 2019. McCown has also been known for his 30-year standing bet with former Toronto Blue Jays president and CEO Paul Godfrey regarding an NFL team in Toronto. It was on a beach in the year of 1977 that the two men debated long hours about the subject.
David Bridgman and Colin McCloy of Price Waterhouse Coopers Limited were appointed receivers of the company that operated Zion Wildlife Gardens, Zion Wildlife Gardens Limited (In Receivership & In Liquidation), on 26 July 2011. Subsequent to this, the official assignee was appointed liquidator of the company on 22 August 2011, after the Inland Revenue made a successful application to the High Court to have Zion Wildlife Gardens Ltd placed into liquidation. On 31 January 2012 the receivers announced the sale of Zion Wildlife Gardens Ltd. to Zion Wildlife Kingdom Ltd.
The LNWR and Great Western Railway jointly leased the main line in 1862, whilst the modest Knighton branch would eventually be extended right through to Swansea by the LNWR over the course of the next decade. The Bishop's Castle branch, which spent its entire existence in receivership closed in 1935. The Much Wenlock line by contrast would remain little altered throughout its life, although the GWR did take control of it soon after opening; its passenger trains ceased in 1951. The station's locomotive shed closed in 1964 and goods traffic ceased in May 1968.
The attendance was approximately 24,000 (no official figure was recorded due to a computer problem). The first competitive match took place six days later and Leicester beat Watford 2–0 in front of a near-capacity crowd of 31,022. Brian Deane scored both goals, including the stadium's first in competitive games. Leicester ended the 2002–03 season promoted back to the Premier League, losing just two home games in the season, despite spending the early part of the season in receivership due to their huge debts, until a takeover deal was completed.
By 1885, the company had been placed in receivership; under this supervision, in 1907 three halts were opened, these being Thringstone Halt, Grace Dieu Halt and Snells Nook Halt. These were an attempt to improve the profitability of the line by increasing the customer base. The line was worked by the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) and was taken over by the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) in 1923. Passenger services ceased to operate on 13 April 1931, with freight services ceasing to operate on 12 December 1963.
Azopharma was closed and its assets were sold for $2 million. During the bankruptcy proceedings, AniClin, one of Azopharma's research facilities of which Thanedar was the sole owner, was abruptly closed; a 2010 USA Today article claimed that laboratory animals were abandoned at the facility after the company was placed in receivership. Later reports state that animal welfare organizations successfully facilitated the adoption of all animals in the facility and Thanedar denied claims that any animals were abandoned. Chemir remained profitable throughout the legal proceedings and was sold on March 31, 2011, for $23 million.
On August 1, 1903, the PJE&E; was sold to the New York and Pittsburg Central Railroad, an unincorporated railroad run by Langdon. However, suit was brought against the company by the A&PC; bondholders, including W.L. Shellenberger, president of the A&BC; and head of the stockholders whom Langdon had sued. They sought to have the A&PC; placed in receivership, terminating the PJE&E; operation. Legal skirmishing continued for the next several years, during which Langdon sold off two of the A&PC;'s new engines.

However, the deal did not proceed, being opposed by the federal government under its media foreign ownership policy. Continuing losses led to the sale of the UK division in September 1981 to Jeffrey Port, who quickly reorganized it as Ronson International. The losses continued, and the new company was in receivership by July 1982. Geoffrey Lord bought it in 1983, renamed it Ronson Exports Limited, and attempted to return to profitability by adopting the competition's approach of importing lighters produced cheaply in Asia. In 1994, Howard Hodgson of Halkin Holdings acquired Ronson Exports Ltd for £10 million, reorganizing it again into Ronson PLC and bringing in skilled management from outside.
After the landmark court decision Gautreaux v. Chicago Housing Authority (see below), the CHA was placed in receivership, which would last for more than 20 years. Things continued to deteriorate for the agency and its residents, and by the 1980s, the high concentrations of poverty and neglected infrastructure were severe. The Chicago Housing Authority Police Department was created in 1989 to provide dedicated policing for what had become one of the most impoverished and crime- ridden housing developments in the country, and was dissolved only ten years later in 1999.

In 2009, a group led by Mnuchin bought California-based residential lender IndyMac, which had been in receivership by the FDIC and owned $23.5 billion in commercial loans, mortgages, and mortgage- backed securities. The purchase price was a $4.7 billion discount to its book value. Mnuchin's investment group included George Soros, hedge-fund manager and former CEO of Goldman Sachs John Paulson, former Goldman Sachs executive J. Christopher Flowers, and Dell Computer founder Michael Dell. The FDIC agreed to retain some of the more problematic assets of the bank, and signed a loss-sharing agreement.
It was placed in receivership in 1977, and the mall has been considerably improved in the following decades. The cooperation that led to the boycott created a strong community sentiment that the right changes could be made along the business corridor. Many older buildings had been razed already to make space for more modern fast-food restaurants and drive-in banks, and there was concern that nothing would remain eventually of the streetcar suburb era corridor. When Glass was 19 years old, he moved with his father to Petersburg. However, when young Glass could not find a job as a newspaper reporter in Petersburg, he returned to Lynchburg, and went to work for former Confederate General (and future U.S. Senator) William Mahone's Atlantic, Mississippi and Ohio Railroad (AM&O;), which was in receivership from 1877 to 1880. Glass was a clerk in the auditor's office at the railroad's headquarters. Several years later, under new owners and with headquarters relocated to Roanoke, the railroad became the Norfolk and Western (N&W;).
The extent of the mall's financial problems was slowly revealed in late 2017. The nature and amount of Macy's actual rent payment was disputed by local politicians, with some stated that it actually was staying rent-free. Finally on January 12, 2018, the Circuit Court of Kanawha County placed the mall in receivership and appointed CBRE Group as its receiver. The mall was scheduled to be sold at auction on the Charleston courthouse steps on January 24, 2019, however the bank holding the largest note, U.S. Bancorp, was the only bidder.
As a result, an investigation by the Bureau of Hazardous Waste's was started which, "led to the suit filed against Chemical Control and its parent company, the Northern Pollution Control Company of New York. The owners of Chemical Control, Conlon and Albert, claimed that their company did not have sufficient funds to perform a cleanup. The Chemical Control records at the time showed only a few thousand dollars, so the state put the company in receivership." After being condemned in 1979, Peabody Costal Services was hired to commence the cleanup of the site.

The practical outcome of the restructuring was that the bank now owned the hotel, holding 114 of the 200 shares that remained following completion of the restructuring. A further 62 of the shares were held by the Cantonal Credit Institution ("Bündner Kreditgenossenschaft"), which had itself been in receivership since 1931, and which later during 1933 itself fell into the hands of the Graubündner Kantonalbank.
Deluxe Coachlines was formed in 1979. It gradually expanded and by 1988 was Australia's largest coach operator with a 50% market share operating across the country with nearly 200 coaches."Victorian Buses in the Eighties" Australian Bus Panorama 7/1 August 1991 page 3 A drop off in demand after World Expo 88 as well as the arrival of deregulated discount airlines, seen the demise of the Company. The failure to reduce its size to match a fall in revenue saw Deluxe placed in receivership in September 1990.
Several mechanical workers were hired by the Ministry of Defence, and others were registered at Labour Ministry employment exchanges in Havelock and Bendemeer Roads. The company was placed in receivership by the Chung Kiaw Bank on 21 December 1971. The STC's Upper Aljunied Road bus depot was purchased by the three Chinese bus companies in 1972 for about $2 million, and its Mackenzie Road property was taken over by the government. Unsuccessful efforts were made to salvage the company over the next five years, and it was wound up in 1978.

Strathfield is well known for its slogan and accompanying jingle Drive In and Jive Away. The master, responsible for monitoring BHA's compliance with the consent decree, gave approval for all major decisions made by the BHA board and administrator. In 1979, the judge ruled that BHA had failed to satisfactorily fulfill the terms of the consent decree and BHA was placed in receivership, with its board of commissioners and administrator replaced by a court-appointed receiver. Since 1990, when the receivership ended, BHA has been directed by an administrator whose activities are reviewed by a nine- member monitoring committee appointed by the mayor of Boston. Kathryn Bennett was named Acting Administrator in July of 2019.
The success of this new type of ferry led to other ship builders around the world using their yards to build large vehicle carrying aluminium catamarans. However many ferry operators preferred traditional monohull designs and the limited market for fast cats became crowded with manufacturers bidding low to keep their shipyards working. After the inevitable collapse of the industry, two builders of large catamaran ferries survived, Incat and its Perth based rival Austal. However Incat had needed to downsize and after a brief stint in receivership, the company continued building ferries and developing larger and more efficient designs.

At the end of 2000 Massow merged his company with another gay- orientated finance company, Rainbow Finance of Oxford, thereby creating Rainbow Massow, one of the largest independent financial advice firms in the UK. Massow took the role of chairman while Louis Letourneau, who had run Rainbow Finance, became managing director. The market value of the new company was £20m, and Massow predicted that turnover would rise from £2m per annum to over £3.5m. However, within one year the firm ran out of money and was placed in receivership. Both Massow and Letourneau blamed each other for the firm's demise.
In February 2011, Regions Financial Corporation filed a foreclosure petition on the church. The bank requested the church be placed in receivership, claiming the church owed $14.4 million on two loans. The elders of the church stated that even while the FFC was current in its monthly payments, Regions Bank accelerated the mortgage maturity from 30 to five years due to the 2008 banking crisis and demanded the full payment of the loan. The elder board stated that AG Financial made a cash offer to Regions Bank to finance First Family Church's mortgage, but Regions Bank rejected the offer.

Bineau was elected to the Constituent Assembly later that year, where he voted for the Constitution of the French Second Republic. In 1848 Bineau also taught general and statistical economics at the School of Administration. Bineau was reelected to the Legislative Assembly in 1849, where he supported all the measures of the Bonapartists in the legislature.
The Stock Market Crash of 1929 and subsequent Great Depression were particularly hard on the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC). The railroad declared bankruptcy and was in receivership by September 1931, just 18 years after Henry Morrison Flagler's death. Bus service began to be substituted for trains on the branches in 1932, and the Key West Extension was abandoned after the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. However, streamliners terminating in Miami nevertheless plied the rails between 1939 and 1968, including such famous trains as The Champion and The Florida Special jointly operated with the Atlantic Coast Line.
In 1982, the retail outlets broke with the A&R; and distribution divisions, after a decision to allow the shop staff buy out. The distribution wing found itself overtrading by 1991 and shortages of cash flow led to a filing for bankruptcy. The entire company ended up in receivership. Rough Trade Records was relaunched in 2000 as an independently owned entity, a partnership between Travis, Jeanette Lee (a former member of Public Image Ltd.), and minority partners Sanctuary Records, as a part of the Zomba Group until 11 June 2002 when BMG bought out this business.
By the beginning of the 20th century Michigan's railroad network covered much of the central and southern Lower Peninsula. The decades after the Civil War witnessed a massive expansion of Michigan's railroad network: in 1865 the state possessed roughly of track; by 1890 it had . These new lines were built by private companies and financed by a mixture of borrowed money, stock sales and, for a time, aid from local governments. During what one historian called "southern Michigan's railroad mania" many lines were built without a true appreciation of potential profitability, resulting in a financial landscape littered with bankruptcies and companies in receivership.
The electric automobile division of Baker, Rauch & Lang was sold to Raymond S. Deering, a Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts businessman who also owned the former factory and assets of the defunct Stevens-Duryea Motor Co. He reorganized that firm in 1919 as Stevens-Duryea Inc. and started production of a new Stevens- Duryea automobile. Using the Rauch & Lang trade name, Deering manufactured a small number of electric taxicabs in a new plant that was built next to the existing Stevens-Duryea factory. Unfortunately, a number of financial setbacks plagued the Deering enterprises and by 1922, both firms were in receivership.

Both the City and the District were placed in receivership in 1933. But the opening of the second road crossing, the Lions' Gate Bridge in 1938 was a significant factor in making the North Shore more accessible. And the war years led to an economic revival of North Vancouver, especially because of the many ships built in the Burrard Dry Dock at the foot of Lonsdale for the Canadian war effort. In the postwar years, the City and the District of North Vancouver boomed, with most of the growth taking place in the District because of its greater land resources.

Also in that year, the AM&O;, in receivership since the mid-1870s, was acquired by Philadelphia-based interests competing with the B&O; who also controlled the Shenandoah Valley Railroad, a parallel line also building up the Shenandoah Valley from the Potomac River which thereby achieved the connection with the original V&T; near Salem the B&O; had sought. At the junction, the new Norfolk and Western Railway turned a tiny flag stop named Big Lick into the new railroad city of Roanoke, Virginia, a few miles northeast of Salem.
The Auctioneer (now The Lost Hour), an unbranded Stonegate pub in Greenwich, London. The company was formed in 2010 by private equity firm TDR Capital, after it purchased 333 pubs from Mitchells & Butlers. Originally trading from rented offices near Birmingham airport it then moved its operations office to Capability Green in Luton in June 2011 when Stonegate bought the Town & City Pub Company who were in receivership, creating the largest privately held managed pub operator in the UK and acquiring the Yates's and Slug and Lettuce brands in the process. In August 2013, Stonegate acquired thirteen Living Room sites from Premium Bars & Restaurants.
In the early 80s, Time Off began distribution off-campus as a now free, newsprint edition. With a strong rock music bias, the magazine also focuses on cinema and the arts, and now has a separate dance music section. The magazine was edited/published for the bulk of its history by Sean Sennett who bought the magazine while it was in receivership in 1990 and successfully grew the paper over the ensuing period. For nearly twenty years Sennett oversaw the magazine taking it from 16pp to up to 72pp adding a glossy cover and expanding the magazine's print run and content.
The two narrow gauge lines would never be united. Heavy bonded indebtedness resulted in receivership for both divisions in 1881, and the Eastern Division was reorganized as the Peach Bottom Railroad, while the Middle Division became the York and Peach Bottom Railway. Although the York and Peach Bottom did reach the latter point in 1883, cars were never ferried between the two railroads, and they were never again under the same management. In 1889 the York and Peach Bottom was purchased by the Maryland Central Railway, and a new consolidated company was formed, the Baltimore and Lehigh Railroad, in 1891.
In the mid-1980s, 1049 Fifth Avenue was purchased by New York condominium developer Gerald Guterman, who then began renovations on the building and started purchasing the apartments of long-term tenants. Later, Guterman suffered substantial financial setbacks due to the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which significantly reduced the value of his real estate holdings, and also the 1987 stock market crash. Renovations to the building were halted, and Guterman was forced to declare bankruptcy. Despite an intensive legal struggle by Guterman to retain ownership of the building, it was placed in receivership and ordered sold.
Hain was first master mechanic and then general manager of the Manhattan Railway Company, which operated the elevated lines in Manhattan and the Bronx, from March 1880 until his death; in 1891 he became second vice- president.J. R. Stilwell, E. L. Wright, D. R. Cafferty, and A. H. MacFarlane, "Col. Frank K. Hain", Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers' Monthly Journal 30 (1896) 598-99, p. 598. Despite financial difficulties so severe that the company was in receivership for three months in 1881, and continuing problems with labor unions, he succeeded in cutting costs and making the company profitable.
Moody's Manual, 1921 Starting in 1874 portions of Westchester County were made part of New York City, a process that was complete by 1898, with the Bronx in its current configuration. This put much of the NYW&B; franchise under the control of the City of New York — meaning the New York Democratic organization, Tammany Hall. In 1901, while the NYW&B; still in receivership, the Harlem River & Port Chester Railroad (HR&PC;) was incorporated to build a route from the Harlem River to Port Chester, parallel to the NYW&B; route and the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad (NH) main line.
Local industrial magnate Samuel Coykendall eventually tried to salvage the Rosendale industry through mergers, combining all the local companies save the ones on the Snyder property into one. The Consolidated Rosendale Cement Company was no more successful than any of its component companies had been, and was in receivership by 1918. In 1911 an Ulster County court had forced the sale of the Snyder company from William Snyder to 21-year-old Andrew J. Snyder II after a disagreement over the sharing of profits. The younger Snyder dismantled one of the larger plants and built a smaller one in its place.
At the end of the 2015–16 Ligue 2 season, the club finished in the relegation places. The DNCG imposed an additional relegation for the subsequent season, which would place Evian in the fourth tier of the French football pyramid, the Championnat de France Amateur (CFA). On 2 August 2016 the club was placed in receivership, given a probationary period of two months to save itself, and assessed a further administrative relegation at the end of the 2016–17 season. On 9 August, the French Football Federation confirmed Evian's decision to cease operation in the CFA.
By this time, the company, perpetually undercapitalized by its own admission, faced mounting financial troubles. On July 10, the company had to post an indemnity bond to avoid the impoundment of President Arthur for a disputed bill owed to Morse Dry Dock for the ship's 1924 refit. The following month, President Arthur was used as collateral for $100,000 loan from a Bronx bank, but it was too little, too late. American Palestine Line was placed in receivership on September 11 by federal judge Thomas D. Thacher of the U.S. District Court after suit was brought by a creditor.
The Fort Smith and Western Railroad was incorporated in Arkansas in 1899 and began construction westward through Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory. On November 1, 1903, the railroad was opened between Fort Smith and Guthrie. The capital of Oklahoma was moved from Guthrie to Oklahoma City in 1910, and in 1915, the FS&W; acquired of trackage rights over the Missouri- Kansas-Texas Railroad from Fallis, Oklahoma to Oklahoma City. The U.S. District Court in Fort Smith placed the Fort Smith and Western Railroad in receivership on October 9, 1915, on petition by the Superior Savings & Trust Company of Cleveland, Ohio.
On 16 January 2013, HMV Ireland declared receivership, under Irish law; companies in receivership must close its stores with immediate effect and all Irish stores were closed until further notice. Deloitte Ireland was appointed receiver and are reportedly seeking a buyer for HMV's Irish stores. The National Consumer Agency in Ireland questioned the legal basis on which HMV in Ireland refused to honour gift vouchers and this criticism was later supported by accountancy agencies claiming that HMV Ireland Ltd. was not part of the HMV UK administration and refusal of vouchers was unlawful prior to receivership.
In his first season in charge, he guided Bradford to the Super League play- offs before the club were knocked out in the grand final eliminator by Hull Following an eighth consecutive defeat, the Bulls' worst run in Super League, McNamara's contract was mutually terminated on 13 July 2010. Lee St Hilaire was coach for the rest of the 2010 season. Mick Potter became coach in 2011. Despite the club being placed in receivership in 2012, the team was on the verge of making the semi-finals of Super League as Potter remained as unpaid coach.
In June 2012, the Sandringham Hotel was placed in receivership with management owing a reported $3.6 million to creditors. The impending closure of the popular venue caused fans to mobilise a rally to "Save The Sando" on 26 August. The event was publicly supported by musicians Angry Anderson and Tim Freedman and saw an estimated 3000 supporters gather on King Street outside the pub while The Angels former frontman Doc Neeson played to the crowd. In October of the same year, The Sando was purchased by the owners of popular Melbourne rock venue The Corner Hotel and renamed The Newtown Social Club.
In October 2013, Avon announced the closure of its branch in France at the end of that month. Its French employees accused it of keeping the workers in the dark for months and not acting in line with the company's publicly stated values of being a socially responsible company that upholds values of trust, respect and integrity and a culture of "open and candid communication." As of January 2014, Avon France was in receivership. This was followed by an announcement via Facebook on 15 February 2018, that Avon Australia and New Zealand would close by the end of the year.
While Lynch's principal business was the motion picture industry, he had dealings as a major financier in many other industries over the course of his life. While most of these activities do not merit special mention, one in particular stands out as an example of the tenacity and aggression Lynch displayed in his business dealings. For several years during the early 1950s, Lynch waged a furious court battle in an effort to take over control of the Florida East Coast Railway, which was then in receivership. Lynch ultimately lost out to Ed Ball representing the DuPont family interests.
In 1949 Sir James Lithgow set up Scottish Ore Carriers Ltd. In 1961 Lithgows took control of Ferguson Brothers (Port Glasgow) Ltd. at Newark (although it continued to trade as a separate entity). In 1963 the East Yard was merged with William Hamilton and Company's Glen Yard, so acquiring an Arrol 'Goliath' gantry crane and the David Rowan engine-building subsidiary was merged with Fairfield's enginebuilding to form Fairfield Rowan Ltd. In 1964 The Lithgow enginebuilding subsidiary of Rankin & Blackmore closed their Eagle Foundry in Greenock. Then in 1965 Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering was placed in receivership.
Adelpro having been in receivership since November 2003, the commercial court of Saint-Étienne decided to stop the group's activities. The garbage bags, technical films and checkout bags business had already been sold to Ribeyron SAS in May. In order not to completely cease the group's activity, the court agreed to keep Deltalène and Polyane together, and the new company will be called Prolène and will be managed by Jacques Valette, former CEO of the entity owned by the Verdoso group. Jacques Valette then undertakes to repay all his debts over eight years and his production estimates amount to forty million euros.
Harper's Magazine published an article about it describing the company and its aims: The investors' ambition exceeded even that description, as Grant obtained a concession from the Guatemalan government to continue the railroad a further 250 miles into that country. At the same time, Grant joined American President Chester A. Arthur in lobbying Congress to approve a free- trade agreement with Mexico, which they declined to do. Meanwhile, surveying of the Mexican Southern's route continued slowly and by 1883 construction had barely begun. In 1884, the company ran out of money and the northern segment was placed in receivership.
Just before Stewart's death in 1876, a financial backer of the CRRLI, rubber baron Conrad Poppenhusen, bought a majority share of the LIRR, with each of the newer railways leased to the LIRR. Declaring bankruptcy in 1877, the LIRR was placed in receivership that October. Austin Corbin bought possession of the system in 1881, and consolidated all the railroads on Long Island under the LIRR, forming the railroads intricate system of rail lines. In consolidating the lines the CRRLI would be fragmented into several branch lines that throughout the 1900s would serve the LIRR in a number of different ways.
The Northern New Brunswick and Seaboard Railway can lay claim to be the railway company with the fewest miles of standard gauge track in history. The province empowered it in 1904 to lay track between Nepisiguit Junction and Grand Falls, a distance of 16 miles, to serve the Drummond Iron Mines, which were discovered in 1897 by William Hussey. By 1903 the Austin Brook Iron Mine was formed, and operated under the name Drummond until 1913, when it went bust. It was in receivership for some short time until the Dominion Steel and Coal Company purchased the right to operate the mine from Canadian Iron Industries, who held the lease.
Ten-year government bonds were issued below 6%, lower than some of the PIIGS nations in the EU (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, and Spain). Tryggvi Thor Herbertsson, a member of parliament, noted that adjustments via currency devaluations are less painful than government labor policies and negotiations. Nevertheless, while EU fervor has cooled the government continued to pursue membership. Iceland elected a new government in April 2013, which as one of their top priorities wanted to negotiate a debt haircut towards foreign creditors of the three failed Icelandic banks now in receivership, as part of a deal to lift the long enforced (since November 2008) capital controls.
It later turned out that Glitnir had US$750 million of debt due to mature on 15 October. However, the nationalization of Glitnir never went through, as it was placed in receivership by the FME before the initial plan of the Icelandic government to purchase a 75% stake had been approved by shareholders. The announced nationalisation of Glitnir came just as the United Kingdom government was forced to nationalise Bradford & Bingley and to sell its retail operations and branch network to Grupo Santander. Over the weekend of 4–5 October, British newspapers carried many articles detailing the nationalisation of Glitnir and the high leverage of Iceland's other banks.
In 1991, a new 669-square-metre day lodge was under construction when a group of seven investors purchased the ski village. "Dime Savings Bank Designation Report" New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (July 19, 1994) Dime was acquired by Washington Mutual in 2002, which subsequently failed in 2008. Dime was included in the assets that were sold to JPMorgan Chase by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation after Washington Mutual was seized and placed in receivership. In December 2015, developers Michael Stern and Joe Chetrit completed purchasing the building for $90 million, having entered contract talks with JPMorgan Chase the previous summer. They plan to incorporate the landmark building into a new super-tall skyscraper, using the of air-rights that come with the Dime Savings Bank property.

Ferrier Hodgson then tenaciously pursued ANZ Bank and Merrill Lynch for restitution in relation to their dealings with the companies immediately prior to and in receivership. This effort was supported by ASIC. The actions of ASIC and Ferrier Hodgson resulted in a settlementMR09-37 Opes Prime: proposed settlement and ANZ enforceable undertaking, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, 6 March 2009.
By February 1856 the Tipperary Bank was insolvent, owing to Sadleir's overdraft of £288,000. His own financial affairs were ruinous, and in his efforts to solve his problems he milked the London Bank, ruined a small Newcastle upon Tyne bank, sold forged shares of the Swedish Railway Company, raised money on forged deeds, and spent rents of properties he held in receivership and money entrusted to him as a solicitor. In this way he disposed of more than £1.5 million, mainly in disastrous speculations. Unable to face the consequences, he committed suicide near Jack Straw's Tavern on Hampstead Heath on 17 February 1856 by drinking prussic acid.
President Onganía had already ordered eight of the 62 CGT unions into government receivership (including the second-largest, the railway workers') and CGT elections in March 1968 pitted the steelworker's Vandor against Perón's own choice, Raimundo Ongaro. Vandor's steelworkers' union was the largest in the CGT and he still had allies such as Alonso and Coría; but Ongaro's allies now included the rail workers' Lorenzo Pepe and the telecom workers' Julio Guillán, both of whose unions were in receivership. Where Ongaro had Perón's own support, Vandor could only boast the endorsement of Onganía's new Labor Minister, Rubens San Sebastián, the architect of the President's "divide and conquer" strategy towards the CGT.

Accounts of the years from 1962 to 1967 differ somewhat on the gravity of ABC's situation, but they don't differ on the broad challenges that characterized this period: the financial strain due to a capital building project and differences among trustees as to ABC's relationship with the All Canada Committee of the Disciples of Christ. The situation was not helped by President Hansell's sudden decease from a heart attack in autumn, 1965. By the 1966-1967 school year, enrolment fell to ten students. The college was technically in receivership except for the patience of its main creditor, the Church of Christ Development Company led by John Bergman, an ABC alumnus.
In November 2010, the Police and the Department of Labour began investigating the accident for grounds for prosecution. The investigation involved a team of up to 15 staff who conducted more than 200 interviews. In November 2011, the Department of Labour formally initiated the prosecution of three parties under the Health Safety and Employment Act: Pike River Coal Limited (in receivership), VLI Drilling Pty Limited (Valley Longwall International) and Peter William Whittall for 25 charges of alleged health and safety failures associated with the accident. On 31 July 2012, the contracting company Valley Longwall International pleaded guilty in the Greymouth District Court to three health and safety charges.
San Quentin State Prison The California State Prison System is a system of prisons, fire camps, contract beds, reentry programs, and other special programs administered by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Division of Adult Institutions to incarcerate approximately 117,000 people as of April 2020. CDCR owns and operates 34 prisons throughout the state and operates 1 prison leased from a private company. California "Corrections and Rehabilitation" had a $15.8B budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year, which was 7.4% of the state budget. The state's prison medical care system has been in receivership since 2006, when a federal court ruled in Plata v.
There is evidence that in the early years of the MS&WJR; and its constituents, managerial control of the Company's activities was poor, and receipts were weak while the interest on loans was crippling; indeed the Company was in receivership. This was recognised by the directors and in 1891 they approached the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) for advice. The LSWR were supportive and seconded Sam Fay, then 35 years old, to the Company; he became General manager and Secretary. In five years Fay increased receipts by 63% while working expenses increased by only 13%; Fay was able to obtain discharge from bankruptcy for the Company on 10 November 1897.
C. Jared Ingersoll was a majority owner of the Midland Valley since its beginning on February 1, 1903, but the Muskogee Company took ownership of the line after its 1923 formation. The Osage Railway, which was affiliated but independently owned and operated, was built during the early 1920s to accommodate traffic from the oil fields located in the Osage Nation. The Kansas, Oklahoma and Gulf was in receivership when acquired by the Muskogee Company in 1926. Finally, the Oklahoma City-Ada-Atoka Railway was purchased by the Muskogee Company in 1929, at which point the Ingersoll interests owned and operated four different railways with a total of 756 miles of trackage.
In 1934, he was named as an assistant on the staff of the Northern Pacific's Vice-President (Operations) Howard E. Stevens (Stevens himself was a trained civil engineer). In 1934, during the depths of the Great Depression, Perlman was "borrowed" by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation as a consultant about financially ailing railroads, including the Denver and Rio Grande Western. Next, Perlman joined the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad as an assistant engineer in 1935, helping reconstruct lines in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas damaged by heavy flooding. Working on the Burlington in Colorado brought Perlman into close proximity with the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, then struggling in receivership.
Wrigley's continued building, among other products, engines and gearboxes. At the end of 1923 it was placed in receivership following the failure of principal customer (undercut by Morris), Angus-Sanderson for whom they had geared up for large-scale production. On 1 January 1924 William Morris bought from the receiver the complete assets, including the buildings, and on 4 February of that year, the former Wrigley business, now incorporated as Morris Commercial Cars Limited, began the manufacture of light commercial vehicles with a 1-ton truck. By 1930 trucks of from 10 cwt up to 5 tons capacity were being made and Dictator and Imperial single and double-decker buses.
William E. Stewart retained the Flint Body Company, while Samuel Sidney Stewart took over the W.F. Stewart Company. By the spring of 1912 Flint Body was in receivership, with liabilities of US$64,000. William E. Stewart eventually recovered from the loss and started the W.E. Stewart Manufacturing Company, becoming a Buick and General Motors supplier. By 1916, during the First World War, the W.F. Stewart Company had doubled its size and Samuel Sidney Stewart was appointed to serve as a board member or officer of several companies, including as vice president of the Union Industrial Trust Company and on the boards of the Union Industrial Bank and Union Trust Savings Bank.
In August 2006, in a survey of healthy food available at leading tourist attractions in the United Kingdom, Camelot came joint bottom, scoring only one point. In February 2009, Prime Resorts announced that the park was in receivership, and would not reopen for the season of 2009. The hotel was bought by Lavender Hotels in March 2009, and in April 2009, it was announced that a buyer had been found for the park and that it would reopen in May 2009. The theme park was purchased by Story Group, a construction company based in Carlisle and leased to Knight's Leisure who ran the park.
After World War I the Government considered the future of the railways of Great Britain, and passed the Railways Act 1921. In a process referred to as the "grouping", this set up four new railway companies which were to take over nearly all the existing companies. The Southern Railway absorbed all lines on the Isle of Wight from 1 January 1923, except for the FY&NR.; The compensation to shareholders was to be negotiated, and although the FY&NR; was in receivership, it argued that its prospects were good because of the hoped-for Lymington tunnel connection, and it attempted to obtain a better financial settlement.
Secker & Warburg was formed in 1935 from a takeover of Martin Secker, which was in receivership, by Fredric Warburg and Roger Senhouse. The firm became renowned for its political stance, being both anti-fascist and anti-communist, a position that put them at loggerheads with the ethos of many intellectuals of the time. When George Orwell parted company with Communist Party sympathizer Victor Gollancz over his editing of The Road to Wigan Pier (1937), he took his next book Homage to Catalonia to Secker & Warburg, who published it in 1938. They also published, after 18 months of rejections and setbacks, Animal Farm (1945), and Orwell's subsequent books.
KPMG were announced as administrators of the Bank and were given six months to manage the bank after which it was to revert to an unnamed private organization. It was reported at the time that the bank had a negative capital adequacy of -24% at December 2017 and had been reliant on more than 2.2 billion cedis (US$498m at the time) of liquidity support from the BoG. Following a confidential report by KPMG, the bank was placed in receivership under KPMG. 0n 1st August 2018, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) announced that it was creating the Consolidated Bank Gh. Ltd to take over the bank with four other struggling banks.
The South Lotts includes the area south of Gordon Street which has been developed by an Irish property developer (now in receivership) into an area called The Gasworks. It includes a flat complex as well as the home of Google's European headquarters in the Gasworks House and Gordon House - along with the Google Docks (previously the Montevetro) building, Dublin's tallest commercial building - across Barrow Street in the Grand Canal Dock area. gasometer frame The flat complex includes the Alliance building - originally a gasometer, converted into a block of apartments. The building was owned by Liam Carroll's Zoe Developments originally, but the company went into receivership.
Mutual Security became insolvent in August 1990 and moved its headquarters to Lincoln, Nebraska and Dallas, Texas; its Indiana business was seized by state regulators, prompting BusinessWeek to describe 130,000 policyholders as "in limbo". Also in 1990, another of Fail's insurance companies, Farm and Home Life Insurance, failed and was placed in receivership by the Arizona Department of Insurance. In March 1992, Arizona sued Fail and his deputies for civil racketeering fraud in an amount in excess of the company's $101 million insolvency, alleging that "Mr. Fail and others were engaged in an elaborate scheme to drain millions of dollars out of the company...", resulting in its failure.
In August 2009, South Canterbury Finance announced a net loss after tax of NZ$67.8 million for the year ended June 30, 2009 and reported that it had been in breach of lending covenants. Standard and Poor's downgraded SCF's credit rating from BBB- to BB+. By May 2010, perpetual preference shares in SCF with a face value of $1, which were not covered by the government retail deposits guarantee scheme, were trading at 30 cents, reflecting a high perceived risk of default. On 31 August 2010, South Canterbury Finance asked its trustee to place it in receivership after negotiations over a recapitalisation deal failed.
After Cunliffe-Owen was placed in receivership in 1947, the factory was bought in 1949 by Briggs Motor Bodies, who supplied Ford of Britain with bodies for their vehicles. In 1953 Ford acquired Briggs, and hence gained control of the Southampton plant. The factory now specialised in building truck bodies, which were attached to the chassis that had been produced at Slough. From 1965, Ford had started to produce the Ford Transit in Great Britain, with bodies sent by road from Swaythling to be mated with chassis at the Langley, Berkshire factory, near Slough. In 1972, Ford of Britain invested £5M in the Southampton plant, enabling it to make the complete Transit van.
World Market Center is owned by International Market Centers, L.P. (IMC). On May 3, 2011, Bain Capital, Oaktree Capital Management, The Related Companies, and other investors announced the formation of International Market Centers, a venture that combines properties in High Point and Las Vegas and would control 11.5 million square feet of showroom space. At that point, two of the World Market Center buildings and two of the High Point showroom complexes had been in receivership for several months. In a deal completed September 26, 2017, Blackstone Real Estate Partners, Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and Fireside Investments purchased IMC, which at the time owned 5.4 million square feet in three Las Vegas locations.
The DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) was an American automobile manufacturer formed by automobile industry executive John DeLorean in 1975. It is remembered for the one model it produced — the stainless steel DeLorean sports car featuring gull-wing doors—and for its brief and turbulent history, ending in receivership and bankruptcy in 1982. In October 1982, John DeLorean was videotaped in a sting operation agreeing to bankroll drug trafficking, but was acquitted on the basis of entrapment. The DeLorean was memorably featured in the Back to the Future movie trilogy (1985, 1989 & 1990) as the model of car made into a time machine by eccentric scientist Doc Brown, although the company had closed down before the first movie was made.
In 1997 CIGNA made a decision to divest itself of its "owned delivery system" or "staff model" (see HMO – staff model) and sold their operations to MedPartners. The sale to MedPartners also caused a new name change of the CIGNA "owned delivery system" in Southern California, The system became merged into the recent purchase in Southern California by Medpartners of the Friendly Hills Medical Group. In 1999, MedPartners was placed in receivership for its inability to manage the combined operations of its Southern California subsidiaries Friendly Hills Medical Group, Talbert Medical Group, Mullikan Medical Group, Vineyard Medical Group, and Riverside Medical Clinic. Those MedPartners-owned facilities were divested and sold to physician-owned delivery systems or closed.
On 7 March 1848, the French Provisional Government founded the Comptoir national d'escompte de Paris (CNEP) in response to the financial shock caused by the revolution of February 1848. The upheaval destroyed the old credit system, which was already struggling to provide sufficient capital to meet the demands of the railway boom and the resulting growth of industry. The CEP grew steadily in France and overseas, although in 1889 there was a crisis in which it was temporarily placed in receivership. Separately, on 18 April 1932, the French government replaced Banque nationale de crédit (BNC), which failed as a result of the 1930s recession, with the new bank Banque nationale pour le commerce et l'industrie (BNCI).
Under the reorganization plan the F± issued $6,500,000 in preferred stock. No common stock was to be issued to holders of certificates of old common stock until five consecutive dividends of 7 per cent had been paid on preferred stock. In the event, this never occurred, as there were only two consecutive years (1883 and 1884) in which a 7 per cent dividend was declared on preferred stock. While in receivership the company built two new lines in 1879: a narrow gauge branch from Cole to Mount Pleasant, , as the Saginaw and Mount Pleasant Railroad (converted to in 1884), and a standard gauge branch from Clare to Harrison, , as the Saginaw and Clare County Railroad.

The hotel was later purchased at auction, and space was leased to not-for-profit Educational Housing Services in the mid-1990s. Much of the space was under sublease to the School of Visual Arts except for apartments still occupied by original (non- student) tenants who pay stabilized rent, and who are still protected under NYC rent laws. SVA broke sublease and built a new dorm on 24th Street in mid 2016.
The Llanelly Railway and Dock network after the separation of the New Lines in 1873The New Lines being in receivership, there arose criticisms that the solvent original line was funding the deficit of the New Lines, and a receiver, John Henry Koch, was appointed in 1870. He moved to create a truly independent company, the Swansea and Carmarthen Railway, which was incorporated on 16 June 1871. The New Lines were worked by the LNWR from 1 July 1871. A series of petty disputes over working arrangements and charges arose, and the LNWR announced that it (through the Swansea and Carmarthen Railway) would start operating the train service on the Vale of Towy line.
Fish is perhaps best known for his work revitalizing The Nation magazine, and its sister foundation, The Nation Institute. In 1977, Fish teamed up with Victor Navasky and began the work of recruiting investors to acquire the magazine, then in receivership. Together with the help of a group of limited partners that included E. L. Doctorow, Norman Lear, Alan Sagner, and Dorothy Schiff, Fish and Navasky began a decade- long partnership as Publisher and Editor of the country's oldest political weekly. During their stewardship, The Nation experienced steady growth, modernized its publishing operation, prospered in many respects during the Ronald Reagan years, and caused a measure of mayhem worthy of an independent political journal.
Bond of the Pittsburg, Shawmut and Northern Railroad Company from the 1st February 1902 The Pittsburg, Shawmut & Northern Railroad also known as the Shawmut Line, was a Class I railroad company operating passenger and freight service on standard gauge track in central Pennsylvania and western New York. The line was financially troubled for its entire life span and declared bankruptcy after just six years of operation. It would spend the remaining 42 year of its existence in receivership or trusteeship, one of the longest bankruptcy proceedings in American railroading history. The Pittsburg, Shawmut & Northern Railroad is often confused with the similarly named Pittsburg and Shawmut Railroad which was a spinoff company from the PS&N.
The expense of connecting the divisions and upgrading the physical plant to handle through coal trains coupled with the failure of the PS&N;'s principal bond underwriter forced the company to declare bankruptcy in 1905. The company would continue to operate in receivership until 1946 when the bankruptcy was converted to a trusteeship. The spelling of Pittsburgh as Pittsburg in the company name derives from the company’s original 1899 charter. At the time, the name of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was commonly spelled without the h. The United States Board on Geographic Names advocated the h-less spelling from 1891 to 1911 as part of an effort to standardize the spelling of place names in the United States.
A public hearing was called to cancel the mines' license and to begin a cleanup. In 1999, the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND) awarded a one-year, $2 million contract to a consortium of aboriginal businesses from DetonÇho Corporation, the Dogrib Rae Band and the North Slave Métis Alliance to undertake final reclamation activities at the Colomac Mine. The consortium conducted studies into contamination and took responsibility for on-going environmental monitoring and maintenance of the site. After the contract was awarded, Royal Oak Mine was finally charged under the Water Act and the Fisheries Act for the pollution it had caused, this was much too late, since the company was already in receivership.
The Llanelly's New Lines Company was in receivership, being unable to service its debts, and the New Lines were rescued by being worked by the LNWR from 1 July 1871. The Great Western Railway was alarmed that the LNWR now had access to Swansea, and quickly took steps to take over the Llanelly company's Original Lines from 1 January 1873. Thus the Llanelly company ceased to control its network, and the LNWR had acquired the New Lines and the GWR controlled the Original Lines. The lease of the Vale of Towy Railway was joint between the LNWR and the GWR, and it was converted to full joint ownership by the GWR and LNWR by Act of 28 July 1884.
In this instance an employee had obeyed the order of a superior and as a consequence of doing so had suffered injury. The ruling was that the injured employee had stepped outside the Workmen's Compensation Act by doing something which he knew to be outside the scope of his duties but, nonetheless, obedience was also a duty and that obedience took precedence. The company was placed in receivership on the application of its debenture holders in 1912, despite the business being "much more promising than for some time past". The cause of this was a proposal to issue prior lien debentures to the value of £50,000, a move which would dilute the position of existing debenture holders.
The entrance to the site in 2007 Peter and Jose Young retired to Spain and sold Poldark Mine to John McLeod who ran it until it was placed in receivership in 1999. In 2000 the property was purchased by a company set up by Richard Williams who was reported to have "put all of his efforts into developing this into one of the most atmospheric tourist underground mine experiences in Europe". At this time one of the attractions was Evening 'Ghost Tours'; the site was licensed for the holding of civil weddings; and it was twinned with the Llywernog Silver-Lead Mine in Wales. Following Williams' death in 2012, the attraction again declined in popularity until it went into administration in 2014.
In 2005, the JCPenney store closed and the space was demolished, which made way for many smaller shops and restaurants, including Borders (currently V-Stock), The Cheesecake Factory, an American Girl store (closed as of 2018), a food court, and a 14-screen AMC Megaplex, which took up a new third floor. The mall was bought by Hull Property Group in 2018, after a (reverse) progression of ownership by CBL & Associates Properties (from 2007), the Westfield Group (from 2002), and Richard E. Jacobs Group initially. The mall was placed in receivership in the third quarter of 2016, pending foreclosure, with management transferred to Madison Marquette while a new owner was sought. The foreclosure finalized in June 2017, making C-III Capital Partners the temporary owner.
The Colorado Central Railroad, because of the poor economy at the time, fell behind on the interest payments it owed on the rolling stock it had purchased from railroad magnate and financier Jay Gould. Gould wanted to take over the railroad, so he planned to petition the court to place the railroad in receivership, with David Moffat as the receiver. In August 1876, to prevent the railroad from going into receivership, a group of men with direct and indirect interests in the railroad decided to kidnap the judge to prevent him from appointing a receiver for the railroad. The judge was Amherst W. Stone, and the court was a circuit court that met only once every three or four months.

He was sentenced in his absence to six months imprisonment.
Alexander's original offer was to keep the team in Edmonton on the condition that the lease be terminated, attendance remained at acceptable levels, a local ownership group was eventually found and an expansion team be granted to Alexander in Houston. The Edmonton City Council rejected these terms, believing they gave Alexander too much discretion to move the Oilers to Texas. The city believed the lease they negotiated with Pocklington was still the best chance they had of keeping the team in Edmonton in the long term. Alexander then offered the ATB (which had the team in receivership by then) US$85 million (C$120 million) to purchase the team and move it to Houston, and submitted a US$5 million (C$7 million) deposit.

His design concept marked a departure from his company's conservative motoring past and Austin received considerable opposition from his board of directors and creditors. Because the company was in receivership, Austin decided to carry out the project himself, and in 1921 hired an 18-year-old draughtsman, Stanley Edge, from the Austin factory at Longbridge, Birmingham to aid in the drawing of detailed plans. This work was carried out in the billiard room of Austin's Lickey Grange home. Edge convinced Austin to use a small four-cylinder engine. The original side valve engine design featured a capacity of 696cc (55mm x 77mm) giving a RAC rating of 7.2 hp, the cast cylinder block featured a detachable head and was mounted on an aluminium crankcase.

In 1986, with the club again in receivership, a deal saw Wolverhampton City Council purchase the stadium and surrounding land, while a local developer paid off the club's outstanding debts in return for planning permission to develop the land adjacent to the stadium. The 1986–87 season saw Wolves' first-ever campaign in the Fourth Division, where, with the guidance of new manager Graham Turner and the goals of Steve Bull, who would ultimately score a club record 306 goals, the team reached the final of the inaugural play-offs but were denied promotion by Aldershot. Brown is a federal class action civil rights lawsuit alleging unconstitutionally inadequate medical services, and as a result of a stipulation between the plaintiffs and the state, the court issued an injunction requiring defendants to provide "only the minimum level of medical care required under the Eighth Amendment." However, three years after approving the stipulation as an order of the court, the court conducted an evidentiary hearing that revealed the continued existence of appalling conditions arising from defendants’ failure to provide adequate medical care to California inmates. As a result, the court ruled in June 2005 and issued an order on October 3, 2005 putting the CDCR's medical health care delivery system in receivership, citing the "depravity" of the system.

Air and Space Manufacturing, Inc., of Muncie, Indiana, to commence production. In early 1965, the FAA awarded the corporation a production certificate for the Air & Space Model 18A gyroplane, a model which had only minor differences from the Umbaugh U-18. By late 1965 sixty-eight gyroplanes had been completed and delivered, 14 more were near completion, some were later stolen when Air and Space Manufacturing was in receivership. Air and Space Manufacturing, Inc., was again faced with dealer pressure for aircraft and commenced efforts to raise $2.5 million for expansion. The fund raising resulted in accusations of stock irregularities by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and though those concerned were eventually cleared of all charges, the associated costs and delays resulted in the collapse of the company in 1966.
