Series co-creator Brad Falchuk wrote and directed this episode. The first part of the two-parter had been directed by Paris Barclay, and written by Falchuk along with the other two co-creators, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. The show made a list of thirty songs that had previously been performed on the show, and invited fans to vote on which ones should appear in the 100th episode in a promotion called "Gleek's Choice" that was run at the end of November 2013. At least ten of these, which were not immediately announced, were set to be featured in this episode, though not necessarily sung by the same artists as before.
Mulvenna was given a senior contract with Dundalk by manager John Gill in 2006 following a striker crisis at Oriel Park. In November 2006, Mulvenna was an unused substitute in a promotion/relegation play-off against Waterford United at the RSC. He had to wait until May 2007 to make his debut for the club when he came on as a substitute in the last five minutes against Athlone Town in a First Division match which Dundalk won 2–0 at Lissywoollen thanks to goals from Shaun Williams and Philip Hughes. His first ever career goal came at Oriel Park in September 2007 when he netted in a 4–0 win over Kilkenny City in the First Division.
She then continued to publish moral tales and in a promotion of Annals of the Family of McRoy she restated her "earnest desire to contribute toward improving the principles and correcting the errors of the rising generation". Nevertheless, in Annals of the Family of McRoy she changed her focus to older characters, in this case following two women leaving their maternal home, so as to provide "instruction and amusement" to older audiences. Most of her novels are set in Scotland. Moncrieff explained that she did this in order to get English readers to have a sense of "the manners and habits of their northern neighbors" and to impress them with "the grandeur of the Scottish scenery".
In 1795, the first ever recorded LBW decision was made at Moulsey Hurst, 500 metres from the site of the current ground. In the 1950s, East Molesey played host to both the Australian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team in warm up matches during their respective tours of England. More recently, in 2003 the club organised a game with Lashings, in which many former test players took part, including Mark Waugh, Richie Richardson and Chris Harris. In 2011, a fantastic flurry of victories that culminated in a promotion-winning six hit by Henry Glynn meant that East Molesey were promoted back into the ECB Premier Division for the 2012 season.
Further, Blizzard gave the opportunity to the top eight teams from the Open Division within each region to compete in Contenders Trials, which would be held at the end of each Contenders season; the qualified teams would take place in a promotion-relegation tournament for the chance to compete in the next Contenders season. For its second year in 2019, Blizzard adjusted the format by reducing the number of teams in each region to eight, while dividing the North American region into East and West divisions. Blizzard also added a regional limit of the number of "import players", which are those that live outside the division's region, to a maximum of three. Blizzard made several changes for Contenders for the 2020 year.
The 1978–79 season was Stoke City's 72nd season in the Football League and the 25th in the Second Division. Alan Durban continued his good start at Stoke and they were involved in a promotion race from the start of the campaign. It proved to be a very exciting season with four clubs all keeping pace with each other meaning that it went down until the final match of the season. Stoke needed to beat Notts County at Meadow Lane to gain promotion and despite a large Stoke away following it seemed that County would spoil the party but with just two minutes remaining Paul Richardson scored the winning goal and Stoke took the final promotion position in the most dramatic way.
He spent one season at the Roman club, but could not earn himself a regular spot in the starting XI, due to heavy competition from players such as Aron Winter and Roberto Di Matteo, for the first time in his career. He was subsequently sold to his hometown club Napoli, where he performed decently during the 1996–97 season, before unexpectedly being sold to Hellas Verona in the midst of the league campaign. Following his time in Serie B with Verona, he returned to Napoli the following season, although the club had been relegated in 1998. Esposito's second foray at Napoli in Serie B did not result in a promotion, and he left for Serie A club Perugia at the end of the season.

Athlético Marseille finished in a promotion place, but were initially denied promotion by the Commission Régionale de Contrôle des Clubs (CRCC) of the Ligue de Méditerranée and additionally administratively relegated to Régional 2 for financial irregularities. Their place was to have been taken by Aubagne. On 6 July 2020, the appeal committee of the Direction National du Controle de Gestion overturned this decision, and returned the file to the CRCC for reconsideration, putting the promotion position in Group D on hold.

Olsen signed a three- year guaranteed contract that made him United's seventh head coach in club history and youngest full-time head coach in the league's 15-year history. The club moved quickly to secure a replacement and from October 2014 until August 2017 were managed by former Dunfermline Athletic midfielder, Chris McGroarty. Despite losing several key players, Chris was successful not only in keeping the club in the 1st Division in his first season but also in building an attractive team which was to mount a serious challenge for further promotion in season 2015/16, only to miss out on this by a single point. The team started season 2016/17 well and having been drawn against Cumnock Juniors at home in the 1st Round of the Scottish Junior Cup then defeated the Premier League side by two goals to nil. However, the club failed to end the season in a promotion position.
The teams finishing in second place in the Third Amateur Division A and Third Amateur Division B will take part in a promotion playoff first round together with three period winners from both divisions. These 8 teams from the VFV will play the first round of a promotion-playoff, with two teams promoting to the 2018–19 Belgian Second Amateur Division. Depending on the number of VFV teams relegating from the 2017–18 Belgian First Amateur Division and possible mergers and bankruptcies, more teams might get promoted. As a result, the two winning teams in the VFV Round 2 immediately received promotion, while the other teams continued the play-offs to determine the order in which possible further places would be awarded.
The team finishing in second place in the Third Amateur Division C and Third Amateur Division D will take part in a promotion playoff first round together with three period winners from both divisions. In Division C, Couvin- Mariembourg and Onhaye managed to each win one period. As the other period was won by champions La Louvière, the remaining spots in the play-offs went to second placed Francs Borains and fourth placed Tournai.

Players such as Rustichelli (now captain), Montecchi, Fuss and Zonta helped Pallacanestro Reggiana reach the professional ranks with a win in a promotion play-off played in Udine over Necchi Pavia that opened the gates of the second division Serie A2 at the end of the 1981–82 with thousands of young supporters invading the basketball court to celebrate. President Enrico Prandi kept Gianni Zappi as coach and recruited Americans Roosevelt Bouie and Rudy Hackett, father of future Italian national team player Daniel Hackett. These players, along with Pino Brumatti among others under new coach Gianfranco Lombardi, would help reach the Serie A anew. Despite being relegation favourites and suffering a 3-0 defeat to Guiseley on the opening day of the season; Culverhouse and his team defied the odds and found themselves embroiled in a promotion battle with York City. When the season was suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak; King’s Lynn were in 2nd position, two points behind York but crucially had two games in hand. However, the facilities at their ground, Hithercroft, did not meet the standards of the Isthmian League and thus they were denied further promotion. A Football Association grant of £100,000 was used to fund ground improvements which would make promotion possible if they were to again win the Combined Counties League. However, after disruption caused by heavy player turnover (with several leaving for Didcot Town, who then won the FA Vase), the 2004–05 season saw AFC Wallingford unable to avoid last place and relegation. The 2005–06 season saw an upturn in fortunes for the club, with a runners-up finish in the Combined Counties League Division One, which resulted in a promotion and with it a switch to the Hellenic League Premier Division, a league deemed better suited to AFC Wallingford's geographical location in Oxfordshire.

The club lost all three play-offs matches and was relegated to the second division, which was renamed Liga Alef, and played in this division during the remainder of the season, finishing 10th (out of 12), which meant that the club had to face another promotion/relegation play- offs, which were delayed and were played at the beginning of the next season.

This was an emergency response initiative of Rosie's For All Kids Foundation with the help of many local nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses, all efforts were to assist the families displaced by Hurricane Katrina. San Francisco public relations firm Fineman Associates awarded top prize to Procter & Gamble's designation of O'Donnell as "unkissable" in a promotion for Scope mouthwash on the 1997 annual list of the nation's worst public relations blunders. In response to the promotion, O'Donnell partnered with Warner–Lambert's competitor Listerine, who donated bottles of mouthwash to the studio audience and donated $1,000 to charity every time a hosted guest would kiss her in exchange for O'Donnell promoting their product. In Baccalaureate, the best Baccalaureate academic record of the entire promotion is awarded with Honours, recognizing the excellent academic performance of the awarded student and entailing a discount on the university fees of the following year. Spanish legislation establishes that each Baccalaureate school can grant an Honours for every twenty students, if a school, in a promotion, has 100-110 students, there would be 5 Honours to be distributed among those students with the best Baccalaureate academic record of that promotion. Obtaining mentions of Honours or other high qualifications may mean, at the end of the studies, obtaining the "Baccalaureate Extraordinary Award", access to the "Scholarships for Academic Excellence" of the Government and the "National Excellence Award" of the Ministry of Education (upon request of the person concerned). Students who enter the university from Baccalaureate studies will have free tuition fees for the first year if they have obtained a global Honours calification in 2nd year of Baccalaureate or if they have obtained the "Baccalaureate Extraordinary Award".
After a shaky start to 1985–86, the team climbed into the top three by mid-October; were still in a promotion spot in early March; and eventually faded slightly to finish in seventh place. Any hopes that Horner might lead the club to promotion faded shortly after the start of the 1986–87 season. After drawing the first four games of the season, Pools then lost the next four before finally recording their first win against Lincoln City in the ninth game; a further six games without a win were enough to see the club looking in serious danger of being the first club to be automatically relegated from the Football League and saw Horner depart. He was replaced by John Bird, a former player at the club. Form improved slightly, but although the team eventually finished in relative safety in 18th, they were only three points ahead of Lincoln City who suffered relegation.
The 2015–16 Liga Alef season saw Ironi Nesher (champions of the North Division) and Maccabi Sha'arayim (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. The clubs which were ranked between 2nd to 5th places in each division competed in a promotion play-offs, in which the winners, F.C. Kafr Qasim, advanced to the final round, where they lost 1-3 on aggregate to the 14th placed club in Liga Leumit, Hapoel Jerusalem. Thus, F.C. Kafr Qasim remained in Liga Alef. At the bottom, the bottom two clubs in each division, Maccabi Sektzia Ma'alot-Tarshiha, Ihud Bnei Majd al-Krum (from North division), Bnei Eilat and Hapoel Morasha Ramat HaSharon (from South division) were all automatically relegated to Liga Bet, whilst the two clubs which were ranked in 14th place in each division, Maccabi Daliyat al-Karmel and Maccabi Ironi Amishav Petah Tikva entered a promotion/relegation play-offs.
Mikael Boman was born and raised in the small town of Kungsbacka in northern Halland and started in an early age in the local club Kungsbacka IB in Division 6. At the age of 14 he was given the chance in the senior team, this was followed by offers from IFK Göteborg and Örgryte IS to play in their youth teams, which he rejected, he also rejected to represent Halland on the Elitpojklägret (Elite youth camp), a youth camp from which youngest of Sweden U17's teams is selected from. Boman then signed for IFK Fjärås in Division 3, his first season with the club went poorly as the club was relegated, however the following season Boman helped the club return by scoring 10 goals and the success continued as Boman became top goalscorer in the Division and Fjärås came in second place, which resulted in a promotion playoff against Sävedalens IF, a 3–8 defeat totally.
Eventually, the club returned to the original name of the gymnastics club, TSG. The club did not break through to the higher reaches of German football until 1965, when it earned promotion to the tier-three Amateurliga Nordwürttemberg, where it finished fifth in its first season.Süddeutschlands Fussballgeschichte in Tabellenform author: Ludolf Hyll, page: 229, accessed: 6 April 2009 The year after, the TSG came second in the league, behind the VfB Stuttgart Amateure, the second team of VfB which was not entitled to promotion to the professional Regionalliga Süd. It was therefore TSG Backnang who took their place in the promotion round, where the team finished first on equal points with the Offenburger FV. In a promotion decider, TSG won 1–0 and earned promotion to the second division.Die Deutsche Liga Chronik publisher: DSFS, page: I 54, accessed: 6 April 2009 On 21 November 1967, the club separated into four independent departments, one of them the football department.
Changes were afoot both on and off the pitch at York Road during the 1901 off-season, with 'The Brentford Football And Sports Club' being registered as a limited liability company and virtually an entirely new team being assembled. Deprived of new captain Bob Stormont for a time due to injury and a suspension for fighting during a match, the Bs finished 1901–02 15th in the 16-team division and were spared relegation after drawing 1–1 with Grays United in a promotion/relegation test match, which Grays forfeited after refusing to play extra time. Throughout the remainder of the 1900s, a lack of financial clout meant that successive managers William Lewis, Dick Molyneux and William Brown were unable to produce better than mid-table finishes in the First Division. Manager Molyneux changed Brentford's colours in 1903 to dark blue and gold stripes, the racing colours of Walter Rothschild, a patron of the club. Brentford moved to Griffin Park, its first permanent home, in time for the beginning of the 1904–05 season.
The teams finishing in second place in the Third Amateur Division A and Third Amateur Division B will take part in a promotion playoff first round together with three period winners from both divisions. These 8 teams from the VFV will play the first round of a promotion-playoff, with normally only teams promoting to the 2017–18 Belgian Second Amateur Division. Depending on the number of VFV teams relegating from the 2016–17 Belgian First Amateur Division, more teams might get promoted which was the case this season as before the play-offs it was already known that on the VFV side at least four teams would gain promotion through the play-offs, due to the fact that Coxyde vacated its place and the upcoming merger between Izegem and Ingelmunster to form Mandel United. As a result, the four winning teams in the VFV Round 1 immediately received promotion, while the other teams continued the play-offs to determine the order in which possible further places would be awarded.
Following the closure of the Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA) after FWA v IPW:UK Final Frontiers at Orpington Halls, Kent on 25 March 2007, Greg Lambert called a press conference announcing that he was unhappy with the circumstances of the FWA's defeat, blaming Robbie Brookside for interfering and costing Flash Barker the Losing Promotion Must Close match with IPW representative Martin Stone. Lambert stated that he intended to start a new promotion, the XWA. In reality, Lambert had wanted to change the name of the promotion from FWA to XWA so he could run the promotion as a storyline-based, family-friendly product centred on its British stars, rather than the more 'American indie-style' company geared towards young adults and with a heavy reliance on overseas imports which the FWA had always been. In summer 2006, Lambert and his business partner Mark Kay agreed to 'put IPW:UK over' in a promotion versus promotion feud to give IPW a boost, and also to give a storyline reason for the demise of the FWA so they could make a completely fresh start.
CSO Plopeni was established in 1947 under the name of Metalul Plopeni and played for 20 years only at county level, fourth tier. In the summer of 1967, third tier side Rapid Mizil merged with Metalul Plopeni, the new formed entity was named Rapid Plopeni and continued the legacy of the football club based in Plopeni, but at the level of Divizia C. In the summer of 1968, after a first season ended on the 4th place, Rapid Plopeni was renamed as Metalul Plopeni and won its Divizia C series at the end of the season, but failed to promote in the Divizia B, after it was ranked only 3rd in a promotion play-off group consisting of Metalul Târgoviște, Știința Bacău and IMU Medgidia. The family returned to Columbia, Missouri, when he accepted a position as an associate professor of Greek at the University of Missouri for the 1891–92 school year. In the fall of 1891, Miller received both a letter and a telegram from Stanford University President David Starr Jordan offering him a position with the newly formed Classics Department. A quick discussion with the executive committee of the Missouri Board of Curators resulted in a promotion in both rank and salary, with the promise of a full professorship of archaeology the next academic year.Stanford University Department of Special Collections, David Starr Jordan papers, SC058 (box 2 folder 15) Nonetheless, in 1892 he was appointed professor of Latin and archaeology at Stanford University. For the next ten years he served Stanford, as professor of archaeology (1894–96), professor of classical philology (1896–1902) and also as secretary of the faculty from 1897 to 1901. They later became simply a gymnastics club known as Turnverein Kaufbeuren and in 1909 a football department was established. This department became independent as Spielvereinigung Kaufbeuren in 1920. The footballers have played quietly as a local side for most of their existence. In 1939 they took part in a promotion playoff for the Gauliga Bayern, one of sixteen top-flight divisions created in the 1933 re- organization of German football under the Third Reich. The attempt to advance failed as they went down 1–11 and 1–7 to TSV Schwaben Augsburg. The team also made an appearance in 1941 in the preliminary round of play for the Tschammer- Pokal, predecessor of today's DFB-Pokal (German Cup), that ended in a 0–4 defeat to Bayern Munich. From 1959 until the 1963 formation of the Bundesliga, SpVgg played in the third division Amateurliga Südbayern where their best result was a second-place finish in 1958–59. Through the 60s and 70s the team moved frequently between the Landesliga Bayern-Süd (IV) and the Amateurliga Bayern (III) capturing Landesliga titles in 1965, 1968, and 1974. Kaufbeuren's performances fell off through the early 80s, being relegated from the Landesliga in 1986 and only making brief returns to this league in the 1994–95 and 1998–99 seasons.
