When in 2000 the Bundesliga was incepted TuS did not manage to qualify. While the champion of the southwest would have been eligible they were tied for first place with TuS Niederkirchen and lost the decider 0–1 to Niederkirchen. More qualifications for the Bundesliga were handed out in a promotion round, but again Wörrstadt was not able to overcome the opposition consisting of SG Praunheim, TuS Ahrbach, and SV Jägersburg. As a result, several of the club's core players left Wörrstadt to play for clubs that had qualified for the Bundesliga.

ONGC 2010–11 Review ONGC began their mission for a comeback to the I-League by entering the 2012 I-League 2nd Division. Having ended his career as professional soccer player David Nascimento started in season 2004-05 as coach of the C Juveniles of Sparta Rotterdam. With this team he won the Nike Tournament and therefore qualified to compete other European Tournament winners such as Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United en Juventus. As the eighth and ninth team places respectively, Team 8 and Enemy eSports were obligated to play in a promotion tournament against the second and third place Challenger teams, who were Team Coast and Team Imagine respectively. Enemy was relegated after losing to Coast 3–0, but Team 8 beat Imagine 3–1 to remain in the LCS. Paul Douglas Watson (born 4 January 1975) is an English former footballer. During his career, Watson played for Gillingham, Fulham, Brentford, Coventry City and most notably for Brighton & Hove Albion before dropping into Non- League and playing for Woking, Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley Town and finally Bognor Regis Town. After retiring from football, Watson studied a part-time course at Brunel University in physiotherapy. Watson was appointed as Brighton & Hove Albion's assistant physiotherapist on 11 June 2009.. After being involved in a promotion into the Championship, three unsuccessful Championship play-off seasons, Paul was involved in the Brighton set-up that finally gained promotion to the Premier League in 2016-17.

There are 8 regional leagues based on the former Provinces of Kenya, some of which are further divided into a number of zones. Vosper exhibited 'Salem' in 1909 at the Royal Academy in London where it came to the attention of the industrialist William Hesketh Lever. Lever bought the painting for £105 and the original can be seen today in the art gallery he established at Port Sunlight. The painting may have remained obscure in his private collection had Lever not decided to use the painting in a promotion of the Lever Brothers' popular product Sunlight soap. German football was reorganized in 1933 under the Third Reich into 16 top-flight divisions known as Gauligen. BC finished second in regional second division that following year and beat FC Memmingen 3–2 in a promotion playoff to win its way into the Gauliga Bayern for the 1934–35 season. Kelly married his wife, Chris, in June 1958 and started his journey in pro-wrestling the following year in Louisville, Kentucky. Dicker was signed by manager Jim Gannon for Stockport County on 29 May 2007, for a fee of just £40,000, signing a contract until 1 July 2010. He played a regular part in Stockport's 2007–08 League Two campaign and took part in a promotion for the second time in his career as County successfully negotiated their way into League One via the playoffs. Dicker was a fan favourite during his time at Stockport for his passing ability and off the ball work rate. In the 1950s, East Molesey played host to both the Australian cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team in warm up matches during their respective tours of England. Alan Durban continued his good start at Stoke and they were involved in a promotion race from the start of the campaign. York City Knights won automatic promotion to the 2019 Championship by beating Whitehaven on the last day of the season and ending the season two points ahead of nearest rivals, Bradford Bulls. Bradford were also promoted after beating Workington Town 27–8 in the promotion final on 7 October 2018. Defeat for Workington gave them a further shot at promotion in a promotion play-off final on 14 October against Swinton Lions, who finished last in the Championship Shield.

The Western Transvaal Rugby Union had its origin from the Transvaal Rugby Union in 1920 when it became the 10th member of senior rugby unions forming the South African rugby landscape. For most of their history they've played in the second tier of the Currie Cup, but they were promoted to the Premier Division for the 2009 season after defeating the in a promotion-relegation playoff in October 2008. They remained in the Premier Division of the Currie Cup until the end of 2011 season after beating the from the Southern Cape in promotion/relegation matches at the end of 2009 and 2010. They clinched the runners up spot on the final day of the season before winning the play-offs and Super play-offs to earn themselves a place in the National League North for the 2019/20 season. Despite being relegation favourites and suffering a 3-0 defeat to Guiseley on the opening day of the season; Culverhouse and his team defied the odds and found themselves embroiled in a promotion battle with York City. When the season was suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak; King’s Lynn were in 2nd position, two points behind York but crucially had two games in hand. At the bottom, the bottom two clubs in each division, Beitar Nahariya, Maccabi Umm al-Fahm (from North division), Maccabi Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Kiryat Malakhi (from South division) were all automatically relegated to Liga Bet, whilst the two clubs which were ranked in 14th place in each division, Hapoel Asi Gilboa and Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa entered a promotion/relegation play-offs.

Born in Lourinhã, Lisbon District, Veloso graduated from Sporting CP's youth system, and joined C.F. Os Belenenses for his first year as a senior after a trial in England with Blackburn Rovers. He acted as a backup to Matt Jones during his first season in a promotion to the Primeira Liga, his only appearance coming on 18 May 2013 in a 2−1 home win against S.C. Freamunde where he came on as a late substitute for Filipe Mendes; he added a further two league matches in the top level, one after replacing sent off Jones early into an eventual 2−3 home loss to C.D. Nacional also at the Estádio do Restelo. On 25 August 2014, Veloso was loaned to Deportivo de La Coruña's reserves in a season-long deal. He returned to his homeland the following summer, signing with Clube Oriental de Lisboa in the same situation.

The 1955–56 Beitar Jerusalem season was the club's 20th season since its establishment, in 1936, and 8th since the establishment of the State of Israel. At the start of the season, the league which started during the previous season was completed, with the club finishing 11th (out of 14), which meant the club had to compete in a promotion/relegation play-offs against the 12th placed club, Hapoel Kfar Saba, and the two Liga Bet winners, Maccabi Jaffa and Hapoel Kiryat Haim. The club lost all three play-offs matches and was relegated to the second division, which was renamed Liga Alef, and played in this division during the remainder of the season, finishing 10th (out of 12), which meant that the club had to face another promotion/relegation play- offs, which were delayed and were played at the beginning of the next season.

Despite finishing second, Amorebieta clinched the first promotion of its history, rising one step inside the Biscayan Regional category to play, the next year, in the Preferente C division. In 1962–63, Amorebieta played in the Spanish Amateur Championship semifinals against Real Madrid's farm team, losing 0–2 in Vallecas and managing a 2–2 draw in the second leg, thus being eliminated. Eighteen years later, the team finished second in Preferente, and played in a promotion play-off against Mondragón CF, which won 4–3 in the first leg; however, a 2–0 home triumph in the second match promoted, for the second time in its history, the club to the fourth division, where it remained for the following three decades. On 29 May 2011, Amorebieta promoted for the first time to Segunda División B after beating CD Manacor in the 2011 Tercera División play-offs.

Season 2005–06 under the new management of Jamie Burton and Barry Granger was the most successful to date finishing third in a promotion place and reaching the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup losing to Ardley United over two legs. Season 2006/2007 was the third season in the Hellenic league and the team were striving for a top three position all season, however they finally finished 5th again under the guidance of Jamie Burton and Barry Granger. In 2007/08 Rocks had a good start to this season maintaining a run of good form leading up to the new year, when they were in 6th position and decided to apply for promotion to the Premier League, however over the course of the remaining season they were drawing too many matches and with only four matches left the Manager Jamie Burton resigned and Barry Granger took over the reins for the remainder of the season. In Baccalaureate, the best Baccalaureate academic record of the entire promotion is awarded with Honours, recognizing the excellent academic performance of the awarded student and entailing a discount on the university fees of the following year. Spanish legislation establishes that each Baccalaureate school can grant an Honours for every twenty students, if a school, in a promotion, has 100-110 students, there would be 5 Honours to be distributed among those students with the best Baccalaureate academic record of that promotion. Obtaining mentions of Honours or other high qualifications may mean, at the end of the studies, obtaining the "Baccalaureate Extraordinary Award", access to the "Scholarships for Academic Excellence" of the Government and the "National Excellence Award" of the Ministry of Education (upon request of the person concerned). After a shaky start to 1985–86, the team climbed into the top three by mid-October; were still in a promotion spot in early March; and eventually faded slightly to finish in seventh place. Any hopes that Horner might lead the club to promotion faded shortly after the start of the 1986–87 season. After drawing the first four games of the season, Pools then lost the next four before finally recording their first win against Lincoln City in the ninth game; a further six games without a win were enough to see the club looking in serious danger of being the first club to be automatically relegated from the Football League and saw Horner depart. He was replaced by John Bird, a former player at the club. Form improved slightly, but although the team eventually finished in relative safety in 18th, they were only three points ahead of Lincoln City who suffered relegation.

Mikael Boman was born and raised in the small town of Kungsbacka in northern Halland and started in an early age in the local club Kungsbacka IB in Division 6. At the age of 14 he was given the chance in the senior team, this was followed by offers from IFK Göteborg and Örgryte IS to play in their youth teams, which he rejected, he also rejected to represent Halland on the Elitpojklägret (Elite youth camp), a youth camp from which youngest of Sweden U17's teams is selected from. Boman then signed for IFK Fjärås in Division 3, his first season with the club went poorly as the club was relegated, however the following season Boman helped the club return by scoring 10 goals and the success continued as Boman became top goalscorer in the Division and Fjärås came in second place, which resulted in a promotion playoff against Sävedalens IF, a 3–8 defeat totally.

Changes were afoot both on and off the pitch at York Road during the 1901 off-season, with 'The Brentford Football And Sports Club' being registered as a limited liability company and virtually an entirely new team being assembled. Deprived of new captain Bob Stormont for a time due to injury and a suspension for fighting during a match, the Bs finished 1901–02 15th in the 16-team division and were spared relegation after drawing 1–1 with Grays United in a promotion/relegation test match, which Grays forfeited after refusing to play extra time. Throughout the remainder of the 1900s, a lack of financial clout meant that successive managers William Lewis, Dick Molyneux and William Brown were unable to produce better than mid-table finishes in the First Division. Manager Molyneux changed Brentford's colours in 1903 to dark blue and gold stripes, the racing colours of Walter Rothschild, a patron of the club. Brentford moved to Griffin Park, its first permanent home, in time for the beginning of the 1904–05 season.

The teams finishing in second place in the Third Amateur Division A and Third Amateur Division B will take part in a promotion playoff first round together with three period winners from both divisions. These 8 teams from the VFV will play the first round of a promotion-playoff, with normally only teams promoting to the 2017–18 Belgian Second Amateur Division. Depending on the number of VFV teams relegating from the 2016–17 Belgian First Amateur Division, more teams might get promoted which was the case this season as before the play-offs it was already known that on the VFV side at least four teams would gain promotion through the play-offs, due to the fact that Coxyde vacated its place and the upcoming merger between Izegem and Ingelmunster to form Mandel United. As a result, the four winning teams in the VFV Round 1 immediately received promotion, while the other teams continued the play-offs to determine the order in which possible further places would be awarded.

Following the closure of the Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA) after FWA v IPW:UK Final Frontiers at Orpington Halls, Kent on 25 March 2007, Greg Lambert called a press conference announcing that he was unhappy with the circumstances of the FWA's defeat, blaming Robbie Brookside for interfering and costing Flash Barker the Losing Promotion Must Close match with IPW representative Martin Stone. Lambert stated that he intended to start a new promotion, the XWA. In reality, Lambert had wanted to change the name of the promotion from FWA to XWA so he could run the promotion as a storyline-based, family-friendly product centred on its British stars, rather than the more 'American indie-style' company geared towards young adults and with a heavy reliance on overseas imports which the FWA had always been. In summer 2006, Lambert and his business partner Mark Kay agreed to 'put IPW:UK over' in a promotion versus promotion feud to give IPW a boost, and also to give a storyline reason for the demise of the FWA so they could make a completely fresh start.

CSO Plopeni was established in 1947 under the name of Metalul Plopeni and played for 20 years only at county level, fourth tier. In the summer of 1967, third tier side Rapid Mizil merged with Metalul Plopeni, the new formed entity was named Rapid Plopeni and continued the legacy of the football club based in Plopeni, but at the level of Divizia C. In the summer of 1968, after a first season ended on the 4th place, Rapid Plopeni was renamed as Metalul Plopeni and won its Divizia C series at the end of the season, but failed to promote in the Divizia B, after it was ranked only 3rd in a promotion play-off group consisting of Metalul Târgoviște, Știința Bacău and IMU Medgidia. Next season, Metalul won again its series, but failed to promoted for the second consecutive year, after a new 3rd rank in the promotion play-off group, this time a group consisting of ȘN Oltenița, CFR Pașcani and Autobuzul București. In May 2008 Gateshead hosted Buxton in a promotion play-off and won 2-0 in front of 1,402 spectators, the largest crowd to watch the club at the ground in 14 years. That record was broken a year later when 4,121 saw Gateshead defeat Telford United 2-0 on 9 May 2009 to win promotion to the Conference Premier league. The current record attendance for a competitive fixture stands at 8,144, set on 4 May 2014 when Gateshead played host to Grimsby Town in the second leg of the Conference Premier play-off semi-final.

Schalke announced a new roster on 13 January 2017, with SmittyJ, loulex, SELFIE, Upset and Vander joining the team. SELFIE and Vander left Schalke on 30 April 2017. Schalke returned to the EU LCS on 25 August 2017, after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas 3–0 in the 2018 EU LCS Spring Promotion tournament. On 30 September, Schalke released most of its roster: SmittyJ, Memento, Caedrel and Norskeren all announced their free agency via Twitter. On 21 November 2017, Schalke announced the addition of Vizicsacsi, Pridestalker (now Pride), and Nukeduck to their roster as top laner, jungler, and mid laner respectively. Vander rejoined on the same day as Support. The team ended the 2018 EU LCS Spring Split in eighth place, but did not have to play in a promotion tournament as EUCS was abolished prior to the split. Amazing joined Schalke as starting jungler on 31 May 2018, after Pride was moved to a substitute role on 3 April.

They later became simply a gymnastics club known as Turnverein Kaufbeuren and in 1909 a football department was established. This department became independent as Spielvereinigung Kaufbeuren in 1920. The footballers have played quietly as a local side for most of their existence. In 1939 they took part in a promotion playoff for the Gauliga Bayern, one of sixteen top-flight divisions created in the 1933 re- organization of German football under the Third Reich. The attempt to advance failed as they went down 1–11 and 1–7 to TSV Schwaben Augsburg. The team also made an appearance in 1941 in the preliminary round of play for the Tschammer- Pokal, predecessor of today's DFB-Pokal (German Cup), that ended in a 0–4 defeat to Bayern Munich. From 1959 until the 1963 formation of the Bundesliga, SpVgg played in the third division Amateurliga Südbayern where their best result was a second-place finish in 1958–59. Through the 60s and 70s the team moved frequently between the Landesliga Bayern-Süd (IV) and the Amateurliga Bayern (III) capturing Landesliga titles in 1965, 1968, and 1974. Kaufbeuren's performances fell off through the early 80s, being relegated from the Landesliga in 1986 and only making brief returns to this league in the 1994–95 and 1998–99 seasons.
