Corymbia flavescens was first formally described in 1995 by Ken Hill and Lawrie Johnson from a specimens collected in 1925 by William Blakely and published the description in the journal Telopea. Blakely described the specimens as "a garden hybrid", but Hill and Johnson considered that there were "no characters indicating hybridism".

The French and Occitan languages gradually gave way to the native Italian. Hybridism recurred, but it no longer predominated. Comparative GISH showed that the genomes in the genus Leymus are fairly diverse. However, it was also found that chromosomes of species within this genus were able to undergo complete meiotic paring in hybridism with each other. Using the GISH technique, it was found that differences in sub-telomeric heterochromatin do not affect meiotic pairing. Because of this it can be understood that the differences between Leymus genus and Triticum (wheat) would not prevent successful hybridization.

Saúl also makes several more references to Gregor Samsa throughout the novel whenever he speaks of something or someone out of the ordinary. For example, Saúl would refer to the Machiguenga disfigured babies (who would be killed by their mothers) as "Gregor Samsas" (25). He even uses that term as a way to bring attention to his own disfigurement, his birthmark. In the stories he tells, he eventually fuses the idea of the thunder god Tasurinchi with Gregor Samsa in the later chapters -- "Gregor-Tasurinchi"—as an example of his eventual cultural hybridism.

At the invitation of the painter Lino António, his former teacher, Vespeira taught at the António Arroio School but had to leave due to pressure from the Ministry of Education. With a maximum of 650 individual plants remaining, Olearia adenocarpa had been mis- identified as Olearia odorata or Olearia virgata. However, with the development, new discoveries and advances in systematics, fueled by molecular technology have added species to lists of threatened species Olearia adenocarpa was described and named in 2004. As a result, this suggests natural hybridism may have taken place as it is frequent within the genus Olearia in New Zealand. Future population expansion is unlikely as Olearia adenocarpa essentially relies on natural disturbance in particular erosion or flooding for the colonization of fresh surface through seed dispersal from the surviving population.

46,XX/46,XY is an exceptionally rare chimeric genetic condition characterized by the presence of some cells that express a 46,XX karyotype and some cells that express a 46,XY karyotype in a single human being. The cause of the condition lies in utero with the aggregation of two distinct blastocysts or zygotes (one of which expresses 46,XX and the other of which expresses 46,XY) into a single embryo, which subsequently leads to the development of a single individual with two distinct cell lines, instead of a pair of fraternal twins. 46,XX/46,XY chimeras are the result of the merging of two non-identical twins. This is not to be confused with mosaicism or hybridism, neither of which are chimeric conditions.
