Whatever the case, the Huzza acquisition marks the second ever for Kickstarter, following the purchase of music community service Drip back in March.

As for the existing Huzza service, that will be sunsetting by the end of the month as the team shifts its focus entirely to Live.

He stood for election as Lord Provost of Edinburgh in 1833 in succession to John Learmonth of Dean. He stood against James Aytoun (an advocate and uncle of William Edmondstoune Aytoun) in the important first election following the Burgh Reform Act of 1833. In the election campaign of 1833 there were both pro-Spittal and anti- Spittal election songs created. The pro song was entitled "Huzza for Provost Spittal".

The song alludes to his having recently purchased a country house called Justice Hall in Lauder in Berwickshire from James Justice Esq. Of the different words or rather sounds that are used in cheering, "hurrah", though now generally looked on as the typical British form of cheer, is found in various forms in German, Scandinavian, Russian (ura), French (hourra). It is probably onomatopoeic in origin. The English hurrah was preceded by huzza, stated to be a sailors word, and generally connected with heeze, to hoist, probably being one of the cries that sailors use when hauling or hoisting.

65 Cumberland's army had struck camp and were underway by leaving the main Inverness road and marching across country. By the Jacobites finally saw them approaching at a distance of around at from the Jacobite position Cumberland gave the order to form line, and the army marched forward in full battle order.Pittock (2016) p.79 John Daniel, an Englishman serving with Charles's army, recorded that on seeing the government troops the Jacobites began to "huzza and bravado them", though without response: "on the contrary, they continued proceding, like a deep sullen river".

In a later age, Byron, who excelled in so many departments of poetry, was an occasional writer of brilliant vers de société, such as the epistle Huzza, Hodgson, but to find a direct successor to Prior it is necessary to pass Henry Luttrell and W. R. Spencer, and to come down to W. M. Praed. A certain character was given to English vers de société by Hood and R. H. Barham, but the former was too much addicted to a play upon words, the latter was too boisterous, to be considered as direct continuers of the tradition of Prior. That tradition, however, was revived by Frederick Locker-Lampson, whose London Lyrics, first printed in 1857 and constantly modified until 1893, is in some respects the typical modern example of pure vers de société. He was a simple, clear and easy writer; he successfully avoided the least appearance of that effort which is fatal to this kind of verse.
