A web browser (commonly referred to as a browser) is a software user agent for accessing information on the World Wide Web. To connect to a website's server and display its pages, a user needs to have a web browser program. This is the program that the user runs to download, format and display a web page on the user's computer. In addition to allowing users to find, displaying and moving between web pages, a web browser will usually have features like keeping bookmarks, recording history, managing cookies (see below) and home pages and may have facilities for recording passwords for logging into web sites.

Despite the benefits, a self-service password reset that relies solely on answers to personal questions can introduce new vulnerabilities, since the answers to such questions can often be obtained by social engineering, phishing techniques or simple research. While users are frequently reminded never to reveal their password, they are less likely to treat as sensitive the answers to many commonly used security questions, such as pet names, place of birth or favorite movie. Much of this information may be publicly available on some users' personal home pages. Other answers can be elicited by someone pretending to conduct an opinion survey or offering a free dating service.

In July 2005, ITtoolbox unveiled ITtoolbox Wiki, offering a collaborative IT reference guide created and edited by the community. In September 2006, ITtoolbox launched ITtoolbox Professional Networking, allowing users to create home pages representing them, find and connect with similar experts, and share IT knowledge. Just prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting held in Colombo in November 2013, a book entitled Corrupted Journalism appeared. This book is published and written by a mysterious group called "Engage Sri Lanka" but is widely believed to be a product of the Sri Lankan government and is widely believed to be an attempt to propagate the Sri Lankan government line that the allegations made in the film and the previous two documentaries shown on UK television by Channel 4 are false. This book was widely distributed and was even included in the delegate pack at the conference until removed at the insistence of the Commonwealth secretariat. Links to the publication also appeared on the Home pages of Sri Lankan Embassy websites around the World.

Parks and Archey-Ladas (2003) found that despite the freedom afforded to users to create identities online, people quite frequently had many linkages between their online and offline lives on their personal home pages. While it is suggested by Parks and Archey-Ladas (2003) that people present verifiable information online, it is assumed that the information is honest, as Parks and Archey- Ladas did not actually follow up with an attempt to contact owners of pages. As such, this study only demonstrates people present verifiable information, but did not actually find out to what extent the present information was actually true. Warkentin, Woodsworth, Hancock, and Cormier (2010) wondered if warranting potential in a medium influenced the presence of deceptive practices.

Morrison was a consultant and member of the Institute of Neurological Sciences, University of Pennsylvania, a member of the executive board at the Human Clinical Sleep Research Center, was on the executive committee and advisory board, Center for Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology, and the executive committee of the Penn Sleep Academic Award (NIH Program). He also chaired the advisory board of the Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology. In addition to these roles Morrison is: the chairman of the Sleep Home Pages Board of Governors, sits on the Environmental Economists Advisory Council to The National Center for Public Policy Research and is on the External Scientific Advisory Board for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research PRET Center on Countermeasures for Jet Lag and Sleep Deprivation.

It is stated several times that Sunnydale is approximately two hours' drive north of Los AngelesIn "Sanctuary" (Angel 1.19), cops refer to Sunnydale as being "up north", although it is also mentioned that Buffy's dad comes "down" from L.A. to visit In "Nightmares" (1.10), Buffy states "He's still in L.A. He, like, comes down for weekends sometimes.", implying that Sunnydale is south of L.A. In the final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer ("Chosen"), and also in the first issue of the Buffy: Season Eight comic book, Sunnydale is depicted being surrounded by desert terrain.At the end of "Chosen" (7.22) the town has sunk into a large pit, and the pit is completely surrounded by desert. It is shown this way in the comic book Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight #1, "The Long Way Home", pages 14-15.
