Achterberg et al., 2004 interpreted the text as Anatolian hieroglyphic, reading inwards, A-side first. The research group proposes a 14th-century date, based on a dating of PH 1, the associated Linear A tablet. The resulting text is a Luwian document of land ownership, addressed to one na-sa-tu ("Nestor"; Dative na-sa-ti) of hi-ya-wa (Ahhiyawa).

Her first husband was Charles John Lepsch. Logan met her second husband, film writer and producer Fred Finklehoffe, a playwright and producer, when he was co- librettist for the 1940 musical Hi Ya, Gentlemen. They were married in 1942, had one daughter, Binnie Quinn, and divorced in 1954. Her niece is the actress/chanteuse Annie Ross and her nephew was Jimmy Logan, a Scottish actor.

It was released in the U.S. in October 2007, on City Salvage. Uncut Magazine gave it four stars, while Mojo gave it five stars. His sixth album, California, was released in November 2009 by Tin Angel Records in the United Kingdom, and in April 2010 through Hi-Ya in the United States. The "Hometown Release Concert" for the album was held August 7, 2010 at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia.

In her early days, she sang at the Astor Roof in New York City. After singing with her sister's orchestra in 1938, she was part of the Winston Trio, the Quintones, and the Sande Williams Band. She appeared with the Quintones in Hi Ya, Gentlemen, a failed musical with boxer Max Baer. In 1941, she became the female vocalist for the Stardusters, the singing group of Charlie Spivak & His Orchestra.

In the lyrics of "Only a Dream", the singer falls in love with whom he describes as "a young executive." He doesn't expect her to "even look at [him] or bother to glance [his] way, but she actually smiled at [him] and said 'Hi-ya handsome, have a good day.'" He starts to wonder if the event was real or "only a dream." On another day, the singer awaits his love to return, only to see her talking to another man, ignoring him entirely.

By the early 1930s and the advent of talkies, Edwards was already in his 60s, suffering from crippling arthritis but remaining active until his last role, a part in the 1931 William A. Wellman-directed crime drama The Public Enemy opposite actors Jean Harlow, James Cagney, and Joan Blondell. Originally, the part was a significant one, but the first scenes shot were in driving rain, causing Edwards to become severely ill. In the surviving film, he appears in only a few scenes (breezily saying "Hi ya, boys" to the juvenile Cagney and pal in the beer parlor, dropping a dime into a pay phone to rat out Cagney, refusing to open the door to Cagney after his first big job at the fur warehouse goes bad). Edwards died of natural causes on May 1, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 69.

Before dawn on the second day, four brush-covered arbors are set up on the edges of the ceremonial grounds, one in each of the sacred directions. For the first dance of the day, the women of the community participate in a Ribbon or Ladies Dance,Ribbon Dance which involves fastening rattles and shells to their legs perform a purifying dance with special ribbon-clad sticks to prepare the ceremonial ground for the renewal ceremony. The ceremonial fire is set in the middle of four logs laid crosswise, so as to point to the four directions. The Mico “Mekko” (Chief of Ceremonial Grounds or Tribal Town ) takes out a little of each of the new crops (not just corn, but beans, squash, wild plants, and others) rubbed with bear oil, and it is offered together with some meat as "first-fruits" and an atonement for all sins. The fire (which has been re-lit and nurtured with a special medicine by the medicine man or “Heleshayv” hilis- hi-ya ) will be kept alive until the following year's Green Corn Ceremony.
