When using belts and lifting straps for tourniquet, the amount of pressure on the vasculature cannot be controlled and there are reports of rhabdomyolysis cases due to VOT(Vascular Occlusion Training).Big Ass Mass: Occlusion Training, Bryan Haycock, FLEX A proponent of the method, Dr. Yoshiaki Sato, risked his life in 1967 after uncontrolled sessions of VOT, leading him to focus more on control and adjustment of the pressure applied on the vasculature.
The main watershed runs broadly westwards from Great Gable, dividing the headwaters of Ennerdale and Wasdale. Travelling in this direction the principal hills are Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell. Scoat Fell throws out a long southern ridge terminating in Yewbarrow and Red Pike stands part way along. The Red Pike ridge occupies a broad area of high country between Nether Beck in the west and Mosedale in the east.
The band released a music video of another track called "St. Jude" on 23 March, choreographed by Ryan Heffington and directed by Vincent Haycock, continuing the narrative from the previous video of What Kind of Man. On 8 April the album's second single titled "Ship to Wreck" premiered on Huw Stephens' show on BBC Radio 1. The accompanying music video was released a week later on 13 April, continuing the storyline of past two videos.
From Ennerdale the natural line follows the unnamed spur to the west of Deep Gill, footpaths having been created through the forestry. A longer route follows the opposing spur of Tewit How, turning right when the col is reached. Netherbeck Bridge provides access from the shore of Wast Water, following the stream around the base of Middle Fell. Once Ladcrag Beck is reached, a more direct line can be taken up Haycock.
Seatallan begins at the Pots of Ashness, a broad grassy depression to the south of Haycock. From here a stiff ascent up what may have been a landslip leads directly to the summit. The top of the fell resembles a truncated cone, cut off at an angle and sloping away to the south. This cone in turn stands upon a much broader upland plateau which stretches away five miles to the south west.
It was of brick with stone dressings, and had the entry under a pinnacled west tower to a galleried nave with four round-headed windows a side. The church was largely rebuilt by his grandson, Edward Haycock, Junior in 1876. It consists of a nave, aisles, chancel, north porch, and west tower The west tower has the doorway blocked, stone facing for brick, and Gothic windows, except for the circular ones on its second stage.
The main watershed runs broadly westwards from Great Gable, dividing the headwaters of Ennerdale and Wasdale. The main fells in this section are Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell, followed by the lower Lank Rigg group. Kirk Fell sits squarely at the head of Wasdale, rising between the main headstreams of Mosedale and Lingmell Becks. From this direction it appears as a truncated cone, steep sided with a wide level top.
Vix recorded a further EP called "Seduction Songs" on Fierce Kitten Records with Robin George, Pete Haycock (Climax Blues Band), Mark Sheppard (the Offering), Mel Collins (Bryan Ferry/ King Crimson/ Meat Loaf), Jacquie Williams (Sister Sledge), Joy Shannon (Joy Shannon and the Beauty Marks, The Birmingham Women in Music and the LovePower & Peace Kids Choir in 2013). Vix released a gospel-tinged pop single called "Believe Me" with the Offering in 2014.
Lake Nockamixon is also fed by two other creeks known as Haycock Run, which feeds in at the northernmost point, and Three Mile Run, which feeds in at the southernmost point. In the winter, the water generally freezes over, allowing for ice skating and ice fishing. Visitors to the lake can stay in one of several cabins or at a nearby youth hostel. Another recreational activity at the park is whitewater kayaking.
The road begins at SR 189 in Lubec. The route heads south, then west, passing near Haycock Harbor, Moose Cove, Sandy Cove, and Money Cove along Machias Bay. SR 191 then enters Cutler, providing a ferry to Machias Seal Island and passes by the Cutler Naval Station. Entering the town of Machias, SR 191 turns north and runs along the Machias River to US 1 where it runs southwest concurrently with it.
The main watershed runs broadly westwards from Great Gable, dividing the headwaters of Ennerdale and Wasdale. The main fells in this section are Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell. The surrounding valleys gradually diverge until at Caw Fell they are 6 miles apart and other rivers spring up to drain the intervening country. The Bleng rises to the south of Caw Fell, while Worm Gill drains the western slopes.
The music video for "Feel So Close", directed by Vincent Haycock, premiered on Harris's official YouTube channel on 14 July 2011. As well as depicting Harris watching and sitting with a girl, it also shows various groups of youths dancing, as was the theme of the previous video. It also features the rancher cowboy and his horse, who are featured on the single cover. It was filmed in and around Kern County, California.
The BNP's first electoral success came in 1993, when Derek Beackon was returned as a councillor in Millwall, London. He lost his seat in elections the following year. The next BNP success in local elections was not until the 2002 local elections, when three BNP candidates gained seats on the Burnley council. The BNP's first councillor for six years was John Haycock, elected as a parish councillor for Bromyard and Winslow in Herefordshire in 2000.
Jane Haycock Woods (born October 10, 1946) is an American educator and Republican politician who served as a member of the Virginia Senate and Virginia House of Delegates. She was for many years an elementary teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools. In 1999, Woods lost her Senate reelection bid against former U.S. Representative Leslie L. Haycock, A Crisis of Brilliance (2009), p. 254 His marriage ended in 1918 when he had an affair with Gwen Wilson who later married Henry Mond in 1920 while Cannan was lecturing in the United States. Unconventionally, Cannan lived with Wilson and her new husband in a ménage à trois in their home, Mulberry House, in Smith Square, Westminster. After the war Cannan devoted himself to writing, translation work and travel but another mental breakdown in 1923 proved untreatable.
The band continued to tour Germany and the UK in 1992 with Louis Clark playing keyboards to emulate the strings of the absent orchestra. In 1993 Haycock and Lockwood left the band, and were replaced by guitarist/vocalist Phil Bates, who had been in the band Trickster, one of the opening acts for ELO's 1978 world tour. A world tour was undertaken by ELO Part Two in 1993, including dates in the USA and Eastern Europe.
1812) in Ceredigion, may also be the work of Haycock. At Brynkinalt in Denbighshire the addition of castellated towers and other feature (now removed) on a late 17th-century house was the work of another Shrewsbury architect Joseph Bromfield. However, the Gothic entrance gate that can be attributed to Bromfield survives. Cyfartha Castle Castellated Gothic was the style employed by Robert Lugar when he built Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr Tydfil for the iron master William Crawshay, in 1824–1825.
Groes was a village south of Port Talbot in the county of Glamorgan, Wales. It was demolished in 1976 to make way for Junction 39 of the new M4 motorway. The village was built in the 1830s, designed by the architect Edward Haycock. It included the octagonal Beulah Calvinistic Methodist Chapel (built in 1838) and later a school (built in 1860); the school was paid for by Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot, then owner of Margam Castle.
French locomotive L'Aigle A haycock boiler is an early form of steam locomotive boiler with a prominently raised firebox of "Gothic arch", "haystack", or "coppernob" shape. The term haystack is most commonly used, but is avoided here as it is confusingly used for three quite different forms of boiler. This particularly large outer firebox served as the steam dome and was often highly decorated with polished brass. These were popular for early railway locomotives, from 1840 to the 1850s.
GWR locomotives after this, from the Pyracmon class, used Gooch's stronger round-topped firebox with its wrapper raised above the boiler barrel. One well-known locomotive that no longer uses a haycock boiler, despite its external appearance, was the L&MR; Lion of 1838. This survived by spending many years as a stationary pump in Liverpool docks. It was re- boilered around 1880 with what was then a typical contemporary design, a round-topped boiler with raised firebox.
In the course of his journeyings Byng provides much information about the inns and alehouses of the time. Often included in his diaries are the bills he has paid at his various stopping-places. Partly because they were so often on his routes, there were four inns he especially liked: the Sun at Biggleswade, the Haycock at Wansford, the Ram's Head at Disley, and the Wheatsheaf at Alconbury (Hill). People travelled with their own bed-sheets,11 August 1787.
The southern section coastline is metamorphic and Devonian in age, with some heavily folded sections at Red Point, near Boyd's tower.Wright, p. 220. The park is fairly flat, with none of the northern section exceeding 100 metres in elevation, and the southern section not much higher; the tallest peak is Haycock Hill at 252 metres. The region is particularly windy, dry and cold, and the headlands are covered in a low ground-hugging heathland community of plants.
Cole filmed two music videos for "3 Words". The first music video was a viral version directed by Vincent Haycock, in the week beginning 19 October 2009 "on the only rainy night in Los Angeles in six months." The second version was the official "split screener", directed by Saam, that premiered on 27 November 2009. The video was described as being distinctly different from that of previous single "Fight for This Love", drawing comparisons to Madonna and Lady Gaga.
In the 1922 general election he stood as Labour candidate at Winchester, but failed to be elected in this safe Conservative seat. In the following year the prime minister, Stanley Baldwin, called an election on the issue of tariff reform. Haycock was chosen to contest the constituency of Salford West, and managed to unseat the sitting Conservative member of parliament, Lieutenant-Commander Frederick Astbury. Following the election, a minority Labour government under Ramsay MacDonald was formed.
He subsequently announced he was considering standing aside, and had invited J B Priestley to stand in his place. He claimed that his doctor had told him "this campaign will kill me". Priestley, however, denied any interest in contesting the election. In January 1958 Haycock stood aside, feeling his position was very close to that of the TUC and the official Labour Party and he did not want to "score a goal for the other side".
She was the youngest of three daughters born to James David Haycock, a miner and his wife, Alice Maud. She was educated locally at Cwm-ffrwd-oer Primary School and Pontypool Grammar School for Girls, entering Cardiff Technical College. She worked as a black and white illustrator but had success with her poetry, winning at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Port Talbot in 1932. She decided to forsake a career as an art teacher for that of a freelance journalist.
The contemporary art collector Michael Sadleir described him as 'blazing with genius'; others likened him to a character in a Dostoevsky novel.David Boyd Haycock, A Crisis of Brilliance (2009), 110-11, 115-17 Shortly before the start of World War I he travelled to France, painting for a time in Brittany. Currie had previously abandoned his wife and young son to begin a long and tempestuous affair with an attractive Irish model, Dolly Henry. The music video for "What Kind of Man" was directed by Vincent Haycock and choreographed by Ryan Heffington. It premiered on 12 February 2015. The video is a short film that includes dialogue about the unifying power of tragedy in a relationship between a couple as they drive down a country road. Scenes of the couple driving at various points in their relationship are interspersed with examples of the woman and her relationships with different men, often taking on a smothering quality.
In this appeal, investment in property bought by another man, D. O. Mills, where Tukey was also an investor came before the court. The issue at hand was that Tukey was an investor on real estate property of lot 4 between J and K streets and Fourth and Fifth streets in Sacramento. The third that was in the possession of Judson and George B. Haycock was sold to Mills. During which time, the taxes had not been paid on the property.
The River Bleng forms the entire western boundary, beginning on the slopes of Haycock and then flowing out in a huge loop to the south west. It finally joins the Irt and continues on to the sea at Ravenglass. The extremity of the Bleng's circuit, near to Gosforth, is given over to lowland cultivation and although belonging topographically to Seatallan could hardly be termed fellside. Higher up the south western shoulder are conifer plantations, both along the Bleng and above the Irt.
The main watershed runs broadly westwards from Great Gable, dividing the headwaters of Ennerdale and Wasdale. The principal fells in this section are Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell, followed by the lower Lank Rigg group. Pillar stands on the southern wall of Ennerdale, three miles from the head of the valley. Two tiers of impressive crags run the full length of the fell from Wind Gap in the west to Black Sail Pass in the east.

The Burton family had owned the land at Longner since mediaeval times. The gardens were landscaped at the same time by Humphrey Repton. The estate was inherited in 1841 by banker Robert Burton, head of the banking firm of Burton, Lloyd, Salt, How and Co (otherwise known as the Salop Bank) and Mayor of Shrewsbury for a period in 1835 and again in 1843–44. He commissioned the Shrewsbury architect Edward Haycock to alter and extend the house and outbuildings in 1838.
Poor steering from Haycock combined with determination from Oxford to stay in touch kept the Cambridge from moving too much further ahead; the Light Blues passed the finishing post in 18 minutes and 9 seconds, lengths and 20 seconds ahead of the Dark Blues. It was Cambridge's first back-to-back victory since 1973. The race was umpired by former Cambridge Blue John Garrett. In the reserve race, Cambridge's Goldie won by thirteen lengths over Isis, their seventh victory in eight years.
The average wettest month is July which corresponds with the annual peak in thunderstorm activity. During the winter months, episodes of extreme cold and wind can occur with wind chill values < . The plant hardiness zone at Haycock Mountain, elevation 968 ft (295 m), is 6b with an average annual extreme minimum air temperature of . The average seasonal (Nov- Apr) snowfall total is between 26 and 36 inches (66 and 91 cm) depending on elevation and distance from the Atlantic Ocean.
In 1895 he became a minor canon of Westminster Abbey, and from 1902 to 1909 was Custodian of the Abbey and Precentor from 1902 to 1912. He was later appointed a vicar of Christ Church Greyfriars and rector of St Leonard, Foster Lane, both in the City of London, posts he would hold for 40 years. Hine-Haycock served in the Ecclesiastical Household as a Priest-in-Ordinary from 1905. He was appointed as senior Priest-in-Ordinary for Elizabeth II in 1952.
The replacement building was said to be "in the style of Edward Haycock Snr, of Shrewsbury, who designed Clytha House, Monmouthshire". Its owner, Reverend John Montgomery Traherne, during the 19th century, was a notable scholar and collector of scientific manuscripts. During the 1880s, Coedarhydyglyn was reportedly a breeding centre for the golden oriole. Sir Cennydd Traherne, born here on 14 December 1910, was a notable owner in the 20th century; he was Lord Lieutenant of Glamorgan from 1952 to 1974.
In the extreme case, this gave rise to the haycock boiler, where the firebox was raised into a vaulted dome. In most cases though, the firebox was merely larger by the width of the internal iron framing section. Around 1850, at the instigation of Crampton, the firebox adopted the flush-topped firebox casing, where it was of the same diameter as the boiler barrel and joined to it by riveted lap strips. The early boiler fireboxes had flat parallel sides (see figure 1).
95 The nature of the Widmerpool–Jones relationship is not made explicit; it culminates in his paying for an abortion, even though he is not responsible for her condition and apparently receives no favours from her in return.Birns, p. 106 His actions in this respect haunt Widmerpool for a long time thereafter; he vows that he will never again allow a woman to take his mind off his work. When he is about 30, Widmerpool becomes engaged to a considerably older widow, Mildred Haycock.
The official music video for "Pour It Up" was filmed in May 2013. In September 2013, the director Vincent Haycock, tweeted that he was no longer involved with the project due to "creative differences", Rihanna later replied to him by stating: "Just take your name off the check while u at it! Whatever your issue is leave my fans out of it". That same month, Rihanna posted new behind the scenes pictures from the shoot and stated that the video would be released in October 2013.

On 10 February 2015, Florence and the Machine released a music video featuring a snippet of the album's title track, "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful". The video, which showed Welch dancing with her look-alike, was directed by Tabitha Denholm and Vincent Haycock, and served as an album teaser. Florence and the Machine performed "What Kind of Man" and "Ship to Wreck" on Later... with Jools Holland on 28 April 2015. On 9 May, the band performed both songs on Saturday Night Live.
Touro Infirmary was founded in 1852 by an endowment from Judah Touro. Edward Haycock, Sr., of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England won first prize for his plans for the building.Obituary, which states: "As evidence of his great skill we may adduce that he obtained first prizes for plans for the Birmingham [England] and New Orleans Infirmaries..." Not mentioned in Haycock's sketch in Howard Colvin's Dictionary of British Architects. Touro is best known for its Family Birthing Center and for founding the first rehabilitation program in New Orleans.
Many longtime residents share ties with the Saucon Valley (the nearby Coopersburg and Hellertown areas of the Lehigh Valley.) Most of the township enjoys mutual local calling with the Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton as well as Quakertown telephone exchanges. Many township residents have Coopersburg, Quakertown or Hellertown addresses. Natural features include Bitts Hill, Buckwampum Mountain, Cooks Creek, Cressman Hill, Gallows Hill, Gallows Run, Haycock Creek, The Lookout, Rocky Valley, Slifer Valley, Spring Garden, and Tohickon Creek. Springfield has three numbered routes: Pennsylvania Routes 309, 212, and 412.

In 1987 he rejoined Wishbone Ash and with them recorded "Nouveau Calls" for Miles Copeland III's No Speak label. In the spring of 1988, the original Wishbone Ash toured England and Europe for the first time in 15 years, and in the autumn of that year Turner and Andy Powell were invited to join Copeland's "Night of the Guitar" tour. That group included such guitar legends as Randy California, Peter Haycock, Steve Howe, Steve Hunter, Robby Krieger, Leslie West, Alvin Lee and Jan Akkerman.
PA 563 comes to an intersection with PA 313, where it turns northwest to form a concurrency with that route on Dublin Pike, with Ridge Road continuing northeast. The two routes head through more rural land, crossing Threemile Run, before PA 563 splits from PA 313 by turning northeast onto Mountain View Drive. Along this road, the route heads into forested areas with occasional homes and enters Nockamixon State Park, a park which contains Lake Nockamixon. Upon crossing the Tohickon Creek, the road continues into Haycock Township.
The Hanbury Church Hill with St Mary's The plate on the toposcope in the churchyard The church originally dates from the 13th century on an older site. It was altered in the 14th century and was rebuilt in the late 18th by Thomas Johnson of Worcester. As part of the works by Johnson, the old tower with its spirelet, known locally as the "Hanbury Haycock", was removed and replaced with the current bell-tower. The church was restored in about 1860 by George Edmund Street.

Haycock failed to attend any council meetings for six months and was later disqualified from office. The party had 55 councillors for a time in 2009. After the 2013 local county council elections, the BNP was left with a total of two borough councillors in England: As of 2011, the BNP had yet to make "a major breakthrough" on local councils. The BNP's councillors usually had "an extremely limited impact on local politics" because they were isolated as individuals or small groups on the council.
English translations, in whole or in part, have been published by R. Williams (in William Forbes Skene's Four Ancient Books of Wales), by Robert Graves in The White Goddess and by Roger Sherman Loomis, Herbert Pilch, John T. Koch, Marged Haycock, John K. Bollard, Sarah Higley. At some points it requires individual interpretation on the part of its translators owing to its terse style, the ambiguities of its vocabulary, its survival in a single copy of doubtful reliability, the lack of exact analogues of the tale it tells and the host of real or fancied resonances with other poems and tales. A number of scholars (in particular, Marshall H. James, who points out the remarkable similarity in Line 1, of Verse 2 in "Mic Dinbych", from the Black Book of Carmarthen), have pointed out analogues in other medieval Welsh literature: some suggest that it represents a tradition that evolved into the grail of Arthurian literature. Haycock (in The Figure of Taliesin) was the first to point out that the poem is "about Taliesin and his vaunting of knowledge", and Higley calls the poem "a metaphor of its own making—a poem about the material 'spoils' of poetic composition".
In 1993, Bates met up with old friend Kelly Groucutt, who had been ELO bassist, resulting in Bates joining ELO Part 2, replacing Pete Haycock and Neil Lockwood. ELO Part 2 took the music of ELO around the world, often playing with symphony orchestras in large venues around the globe. Extensive touring in Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, US, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, South Africa, UK followed ... until 1999, when Bates quit to spend more time with his family, and to pursue a long-held ambition to study for a degree.
Kaminski, former ELO cellist Hugh McDowell, and former ELO bassist Kelly Groucutt were part of the live band, with Groucutt sharing lead and backing vocals with Troyer, Haycock and Lockwood. Kaminski, McDowell and Groucutt were initially appearing as guest artists from a band they had formed called OrKestra, itself a vehicle to exploit their past association with ELO, but eventually dissolved it and joined ELO Part Two full-time by 1993. McDowell's tenure with the band was short. Plans to tour the USA with the MSO were cancelled as costs became prohibitive.
The southern arc of the group travels due west from Great Gable, the main ridge consisting of Kirk Fell, Pillar (named for its great out-thrust of rock), Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell. A number of outliers line the side valleys of Wasdale, namely Yewbarrow, Red Pike (Wasdale), Seatallan, Middle Fell and Buckbarrow. Beyond Caw Fell is the lower Lank Rigg group, consisting of Lank Rigg, Crag Fell and Grike. The northern arc begins with Great Gable's lesser sibling, Green Gable, and Brandreth, before turning north west above the shore of Buttermere.
The official music video was uploaded to Harris's Vevo account on 15 July 2013. It was directed by Vincent Haycock and filmed in Los Angeles off the coast of Santa Catalina Island. The video features a pool party, a rave, a boat party (which Marar is on) being hijacked by Somali pirates, a couple having sex on a plane and a beaten-up teenage boy taking out revenge by badly beating up the guy who did it to him. The video also features an appearance from Hurts member Theo Hutchcraft.
The town's revenues were mortgaged to pay for the re- casting of the four broken church bells and the addition of four new ones. In 1848 a charitable call was made by the church for necessary "re-pewing and re- paving", with a target of £250 requested, much of the money coming from wealthy parishioners. That same year some chancel windows were re-opened and glazed by Edward Haycock. Between 1850 and 1852 the church underwent a substantial renovation to the sum of £1,800, contracted to John Prichard of Cardiff.
However, during construction a third storey was added, which removed the flying bridge and the glass arcade ceiling. The finished building, of brick and reinforced concrete with terrazzo and tiled floors throughout, had an arcade and shops on the ground floor. The four shops along the street frontage initially included a cafe, a dress shop, a casket agency and a photographer, and there was a hairdresser within the arcade: Joan Haycock, who was first listed in the Post Office Directory at Marine Parade (later Redcliffe Parade) in 1947. Mr Cassimatis ran the casket agency.
The architect was Edward Haycock Snr, with modifications mainly to the pedestal by Thomas Harrison. The pedestal is square with a pier of buttress at each angle, on which are placed recumbent lions, worked of Grinshill stone (the same as the column) by John Carline of Shrewsbury. The statue of Lord Hill was modelled in Lithodipyra (Coade stone) by Joseph Panzetta who worked for Eleanor Coade. The first stone was laid on 27December 1814 by the Salopian Lodge of Free Masons assisted by deputies from adjoining lodges, on the festival of St. John the Evangelist.
St Mary's Church in the centre of Chapel Lawn was designed by Edward Haycock Snr in the lancet style and erected in 1844. It was planned to provide 232 sittings, of which 162 were declared free and unappropriated forever. Originally a Chapel of Ease of Clun parish, without an adjoining vicarage and resident priest, it was built to save parishioners the long walk to Clun. Built of stone in the style of the period, it displays the typical plain lancets, flat buttresses, and western bell gable with a wide queen post roof.
A draft cover was developed, but the band broke up before there was a chance for the single to be produced. A new band, Ophiuchus rose out of the ashes of Random Gender, and it was this band that went on to record their first single Serpent and the Bearded King with Pete Haycock as producer. The original line up of Ophiuchus included the Cousins Brothers and Pat D’Arcy. But this was short lived with Simon Cousins leaving to join Mike Badger who formed The Onset in December 1986.
Chris Bucknall also appeared as a keyboardist on Pete Haycock's 1987 album Guitar and Son,Discogs, Pete Haycock - Guitar And Son and DJ Angel's two albums, Love Thing and Tell Me On Sunday, both issued in Germany in the mid-2000s.Discogs, Love Thing Tell Me On Sunday John Briley produced a compilation album, entitled Brainwaves, issued in the United Kingdom in 1978.Discogs, Brainwaves John Briley started his musical career as a vocalist with various bands. Bev Bevan (under an agreement with Lynne, who co-owned the ELO name with him) continued on in 1989 as ELO Part II, initially with no other former ELO members, but with ELO's main orchestra conductor, Louis Clark. Bevan also recruited Eric Troyer, Pete Haycock, and Neil Lockwood. ELO Part II released their debut album Electric Light Orchestra Part Two in May 1991. Mik Kaminski, Kelly Groucutt and Hugh McDowell, at the time working in a group called OrKestra, joined the group for their first tour in 1991.
While McDowell did not stay, Groucutt and Kaminski became fully-fledged members. In 1994, after the departure of Haycock and Lockwood, the remaining five recorded Moment of Truth with their newest member, Phil Bates. This lineup toured extensively up to 1999. Bevan retired from the lineup in 1999 and sold his share of the ELO name to Jeff Lynne in 2000, after Lynne had expressed his dismay that in certain areas the band were billed as 'ELO', rather than with '...Part II' added, suggesting it was the original outfit.
Born in London, Ali Forbes began his professional career in February 1989 at the age of 28 with a win over David Haycock. Unbeaten in his first seven fights he suffered his first defeat in March 1992 when he challenged Ian Strudwick for the BBBofC Southern Area super middleweight title, losing on points. When Strudwick vacated the title Forbes got a second chance in March 1994 against Richard Bustin, this time winning on points. In January 1995 he beat Fidel Castro Smith on points at the York Hall to become British super middleweight champion.
The architect was Edward Haycock, but Harrison did make alterations to the design, changing the style of the column, and adding a pedestal with statues of lions; and Harrison did supervise the construction. Harrison designed The Marquess of Anglesey's Column in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey to commemorate the feats of Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey. This was constructed in 1816–17 at a cost of nearly £2,000 (). His last memorial was a ceremonial gateway, the Admiralty Arch, at Holyhead, also on Anglesey, to commemorate the landing there of George IV in 1821.
The Championship Course along which the Boat Race is contested Oxford were strong pre-race favourites, having won 16 of the last 17 races. Cambridge won the toss and elected to start from the Surrey station. Two minutes after the start, and in cold, overcast conditions, Cambridge's cox Martin Haycock was level with Oxford's Jo Michels who occupied the number two seat in the Dark Blue boat. Responding to a call to push on, Cambridge were clear upon reaching the Mile Post in record time, and moved in front of Oxford.
The song marked Del Rey's eighth top 40 hit on the UK Singles Chart where it peaked at number 21. An accompanying black-and-white music video, directed by Vincent Haycock, was released on May 7, 2014. Shot at Marina del Rey, California and Venice, Los Angeles, it uses a minimalist and melancholy approach to depict Del Rey torn between two love interests, one of which is portrayed by Hollywood tattoo artist Mark Mahoney. The clip was well received by critics and was nominated for a 2014 MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography.
1790, d. 1870)', Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004 He was mayor of Shrewsbury in 1842. Haycock also played an active part in the political life of Shrewsbury as a Conservative: he sat on the council for thirty-four years, rose to become an alderman, and served as mayor in 1842.Hobbs J L. 'The Haycocks', Shropshire Magazine, 11 (Feb 1960), 17–18 He was a friend of the Shrewsbury architect John Carline and also of Dr Robert Waring Darwin, the father of the naturalist Charles Darwin.
He commissioned the architect Edward Haycock Snr in the early 1830s to build the present entrance hall and adjacent large room on the north side of the house. In 1881 Frank Ash Yeo, Chairman of the Swansea Harbour Trust, added the dining room to the east of Dillwyn’s entrance hall. Richard Glynn Vivian, an art lover from the Vivian family who gave the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery to Swansea, bought the Hall in 1898 as his home. He added the balconies and masks of Italian marble, laid out the ornamental gardens and installed the gazebo tower on the roof.
Tooth of a juvenile C. ricki from the Haycock Marl in West Australia Like all mackerel sharks, Cardabiodon grew a growth ring in its vertebrae every year and is aged through measuring each band. However, few Cardabiodon individuals were aged due to the rarity of well-preserved vertebrae. The ontogenetics of C. ricki was calculated using the vertebrae of three different preadult individuals as well as an isolated tooth of a newborn. When compared with the ontogenetic records of Cretoxyrhina mantelli and Archaeolamna kopingensis, the vertebrae of C. ricki suggested that total length at birth was smaller than the two sharks at between .
Because of the heroism of the lower ranks who did have many casualties, the Distinguished Conduct Medal was dispatched to the following on 3 July by Queen Victoria herself at Windsor: Colour-Sergeant Charles Wake, Colour-Sergeant Hayward, Sergeant Henry Phipps, 19th Hussars, Frank Webb, Lance-Sergeant John Doyle, Lance-Sergeant Henry Haycock, Lance-Sergeant Henry James, Corporal Henry Baxter, Corporal David Dossett. The battle was part of the escalation of the conflict in the Sudan, a conflict which led to the reconquest of Sudan in 1898, Herbert Kitchener, involving 25,800 men, 8,600 of whom were British, including Winston Churchill.
The Western Fells occupy a triangular sector of the Lake District, bordered by the River Cocker to the north-east and Wasdale to the south-east. Westwards the hills diminish toward the coastal plain of Cumberland. At the central hub of the high country are Great Gable and its satellites, while two principal ridges fan out on either flank of Ennerdale, the western fells in effect being a great horseshoe around this long wild valley.Alfred Wainwright: A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, Volume 7 The Western Fells: Westmorland Gazette (1966): Haycock stands on the southern arm.
"I Love You" song was covered by American band Lazlo Bane for their 2007 album Guilty Pleasures. It was covered by the band Nine Days for the soundtrack album to the film The New Guy, and by the band Tesla for their 2011 acoustic album Twisted Wires & the Acoustic Sessions. "I Love You" was also covered by the band the H Factor, and was released as a single, from their 1989 sole eponymous album. Two members of the H Factor, Pete Haycock and Derek Holt, were members of the Climax Blues Band before forming the H Factor with Steve Hunter.
Governor's order- Retrieved 2015-01-25 In January 2011 a report was issued, mentioning the 2010 flood, and the result was for municipalities to change their master plans and change local flood damage prevention ordinances, which would include such things as elevating structures, and to stop expansion into flood zones. The areas considered prone to continual flooding are Acid Brook, Buttermilk Falls, Haycock Brook, Mahwah River, Masonicus Brook, Packanack Brook, Pequannock River, Plog Brook, Pompton River, Ramapo River, Third River, Wanaque River and Wolf Creek. On August 30, 2011 there was another flood with a crest.
The Barbados Slave Code allowed slave owners to punish their slaves with extreme violence, nor was her running of a brothel controversial. Marisa J. Fuentes, a scholar who studies enslaved women of the Caribbean, has evaluated how formerly enslaved women became dependent upon the slave economy and thus perpetuated the system of exploitation of others. For example, in 1780 Polgreen sold a woman named Joanna to a soldier, Joseph Haycock, who then manumitted her. Unable to support herself as a free woman, three years later, Joanna indentured herself to Polgreen for twelve years in exchange for clothing, food and drink.
Stone Broken was formed in early 2013 when Richard Moss and Robyn Haycock decided to start a new band following the death of the guitar player in their previous band, Black Lake, as a consequence of alcohol addiction. They were joined by bass player Kieron Conroy, who had previously been in a band called Black Diamond Bullet. Kieron introduced his new bandmates to guitarist Chris Davis, who had also played in Black Diamond Bullet. The name Stone Broken was decided upon after drummer Robyn noted that the money required to get the band established would in all probability leave them ‘stone broke’.
Thomas Hopper (1776–1856) was an English architect of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, much favoured by King George IV, and particularly notable for his work on country houses across southern England, with occasional forays further afield, into Wales and Northern Ireland. He was involved with improvements to the Shire Hall in Monmouth under "Royal assent" where he and Edward Haycock made the building extend down Agincourt Street creating room for a new staircase and larger courts. Hopper took up residence in Monnow Street in Monmouth whilst this was happening. In 1840 he exhibited designs for Butterton Hall in Staffordshire.
The façade of Nanteos Mansion Nanteos (Welsh: Plas Nanteos, Nanteos Mansion) is an 18th-century former country house in Llanbadarn-y-Creuddyn, near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales. A Grade I listed building, it is now a country house hotel. The current building was constructed between 1738 and 1757 for the Powell family, with the Shrewsbury architect Edward Haycock Sr. designing the stable block in the 1830s, and William Ritson Coultart designing the east wing and rear offices in 1841. The family occupied the house for some 200 years up until the last of the Powells, Margaret Powell, who died in 1951.

Arrington and published by Deseret Book in 1986.
He then punches Hades into the River Styx, and returns Meg's soul to her body. He is invited by Zeus to live in Olympus, but he decides to live his life on Earth with Megara. In originating the design for the infant version of Hercules used in the film, animator Randy Haycock drew inspiration by videotaping a friend's six-month-old and by renting movies with babies in them, while the curly hairstyle for baby Hercules was derived from the appearance of Haycock's infant daughter. He adds, "Hercules' mannerisms come right off things I've picked up from her", even though Hercules is more caricatured than a real baby.
These tons of hay can also be moved by one person, again with the right (expensive) equipment, as loaders with long spikes run by hydraulic circuits pick up each large bale and move it to its feeding location. A fence may be built to enclose a haystack and prevent roaming animals from eating it, or animals may feed directly from a field-constructed stack as part of their winter feeding. Haystacks are also sometimes called haycocks; among some users this term refers more specifically to small piles of cut-and-gathered hay awaiting stacking into larger stacks. The words (haystack, haycock) are usually styled as solid compounds, but not always.
Alongside their Stand By Me cover, they also composed two original songs for Final Fantasy XV, entitled "I Will Be" and "Too Much Is Never Enough", which were also released on 12 August 2016. In April 2016, the band released The Odyssey, a short film by Vincent Haycock and Welch which consisted of all music videos shot within the How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful era, together with some interconnecting sung and spoken scenes. The premiere took place at London's Rio Cinema on 20 April 2016, and was followed by an unrecorded Q&A.; The online world premiere on 21 April 2016 was delayed to the 24th due to Prince's death.
Map of Funk Island showing concentration of Great Auk remains, 1887 The name Funk, which means evil odour or vapour, is thought to have been given to the island because of the foul odour which predominates there. The smell arises from the nitrate and phosphate concentrations found in the guano deposited by the many millions of birds which have nested there over the centuries. Some contend that the name may be traced to a Norse or Icelandic word for a haycock which the island resembles. This hypothesis appears unlikely, since the name Funk did not often appear on maps until the late 18th century.
Dissenters from the Anglican Church emerged in the 18th century. In 1712 there were around 12 Presbyterians, 3 Anabaptists, and 3 Quakers reportedly living in Great Glen and nearby. Between 1714 and 1726 six different houses in Great Glen were licensed as meeting- houses for these dissenters.British History onlineBritish History Online Most of the leading artisan families in Great Glen were Methodist "dissenters", and prominent people in the Weslyan church congregation included William Edgley - Miller, Thomas Batchelor - Bricklayer, Daniel Allen - Blacksmith, Solomon Banks - Watchmaker, Joseph Smeeton - Framework Knitter, Thomas Smeeton - Carpenter, John Hawley - Grocer, John Haycock - Builder, Robert Holyoak - Tailor, Robert Scampton - Carpenter and William Scott - Tailor.
The fell is therefore the end of the westerly run of the ridge, and the watershed curves north around the head of Worm Gill, crossing the subsidiary top of Iron Crag on the transit to Crag Fell and Lank Rigg. The unnamed col connecting Caw Fell to Haycock is flat topped and carries the Ennerdale Fence, in this section a substantial dry stone wall. Tongue Gill, the principal headwater of the Bleng, flows from the southern side of the saddle while on the opposite side is the steep headwall of Silver Cove, a deeply enclosed side-valley running into Ennerdale. The heathery spur of Tongue End runs parallel to the east.
In 1954 he was one of eighteen Canadian artists commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway to paint a mural for the interior of one of the new Park cars entering service on the new Canadian transcontinental train. Each the murals depicted a different national or provincial park; Jackson's was Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. Jackson moved to the Ottawa region in 1955, settling in Manotick. In his later years, he was often accompanied on his painting trips into the Ottawa Valley region, the Gatineau Hills, the Lievre River Valley and Ripond by friend, painter and former student Ralph Wallace Burton, and fellow painters Maurice Haycock and Stuart D. Helmsley.
The square in Barcelona renamed in Orwell's honour Orwell set out for Spain on about 23 December 1936, dining with Henry Miller in Paris on the way. Miller told Orwell that going to fight in the Civil War out of some sense of obligation or guilt was "sheer stupidity" and that the Englishman's ideas "about combating Fascism, defending democracy, etc., etc., were all baloney."Haycock, I Am Spain (2013), 152 A few days later in Barcelona, Orwell met John McNair of the Independent Labour Party (ILP) Office who quoted him: "I've come to fight against Fascism".John McNair – Interview with Ian Angus UCL 1964 Orwell stepped into a complex political situation in Catalonia.
Thomas Penson had trained under Thomas Harrison in Chester, and his most notable building in the classical style was the Flannel Exchange in Newtown of 1832, which although still standing, was badly defaced by its conversion into a cinema in the early 20th century. The Shrewsbury architects, Joseph Bromfield and the Haycock family had been influenced by the talented Farnolls Pritchard, the original designer of the Iron Bridge. While this group of architects worked in various styles, they particularly developed the classical style in Wales. Edward Haycock's most important works were Glynllifon near Caernarfon, the facade to Nanteos stables and Clytha Park near Abergavenny, and the laying out of the small town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion.
In May 2012, the Major League Productions Ltd record label released an until-then unknown vault recording of a 1976 live performance, featuring the Climax Blues Band at the top of their game: Climax Blues Band / World Tour 1976. Haycock provided some insightful liner notes for the CD's insert, and the recording further demonstrates the tight musicianship that was found in the band's line-up at that time. In March 2015, a 4-CD retrospective was released entitled Live, Rare, and Raw 1973-1979, featuring the band at the height of their powers, in a variety of Live settings. This release would parallel the ferocity and acclaim of Climax Blues Band's 1973 album, FM/Live.
Thompson played on the eponymous debut album by the commercial fusion act Animal Logic, the brainchild of Police drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Stanley Clarke. Thompson shared guitar duties with Peter Haycock (Climax Blues Band) and Steve Howe (Yes, Asia, GTR). Clarke and Copeland both went on to successful careers composing film scores for which they continued to tap Thompson for guitar work, and he has also worked on film scores by Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard and Randy Edelman. Just as Thompson's session career was hitting its stride, 1980s studio guitar staple Dann Huff left L.A. for Nashville and put out the word that producers and contractors who wanted him should instead call Michael Thompson.
Chirbury church in 1795 St Michael's Church, as pictured in the infobox above, is the only church in Chirbury, and is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. It is Church of England (Diocese of Hereford) and the Chirbury ecclesiastical parish covers a smaller area than the civil parish, including Wotherton, but not Brompton, Marton or Middleton.Church of England A Church Near You Originally an Anglo- Saxon church, founded in 915 (with the building of the fort) or possibly earlier, the current building largely dates to the late 12th century with the tower constructed around 1300, and a short chancel added in 1733. The church was restored in 1871–72 by Edward Haycock junior.
These robes have been worn since 1988, when the High Court abandoned the previous court dress of black silk robes, bar jackets, jabots or bands and full-bottomed wigs and lace cuffs on formal occasions and bench wigs for ordinary business attire. In the High Court of Australia, barristers wear the same dress as is required by the Supreme Court in their jurisdiction. In the Federal Court of Australia, judges no longer wear traditional court dress, but wear black wool robes with a black trim for 'first instance' work, and black wool robes with a red trim for appeal cases. These robes were adopted in 1997 and were designed by Bill Haycock.
Buckbarrow is not really a separate hill, but just the craggy end of the southern ridge of the neighbouring fell of Seatallan, which reaches a height of 692 m (2,270 ft). Seatallan itself lies to the south of the main ridge, connecting to Haycock across the Pots of Ashness depression. Seatallan's south-western ridge falls gently at first across the broad green expanse of Nether Wasdale Common, finally narrowing to a point at Cat Bields (500 m or 1,640 ft), a mile from the summit. From here the slope continues in the same direction to the Greendale- Gosforth road, its progress only briefly interrupted by the few desultory rocks of Gray Crag.
The accompanying music video for "West Coast" was directed by Vincent Haycock, and shot at Marina del Rey, California and in Venice, Los Angeles, in early April 2014. Aside from Del Rey, the clip also features Hollywood tattoo artist Mark Mahoney who plays the singer's love interest in the clip's chorus segment, and American model Bradley Soileau who plays the same role in another scene. Del Rey described Mahoney as her confidante, lover and procurer in the video. In an interview with Clash, the singer mentioned, "Like the record, [the music video is] atmospheric, and you catch a directional vibe, but it's not that pointed, and it's hard to tell what is going on".
In 2015, Truesdell made appearances in music videos by Jordin Sparks, Christian Rich, and Big Sean. Original ELO co-founder Roy Wood was approached about joining the band, but declined. Bevan recruited longtime ELO string conductor and co-arranger Louis Clark into his new band, but not as an official member (Clark was never an official member of the original ELO either.) The first line-up comprised Bevan, plus three musicians completely unrelated to ELO: Eric Troyer (keyboards and vocals), Peter Haycock (guitar and vocals) and Neil Lockwood (guitar and vocals). John Payne had also been recruited as a member early on but dropped out, eventually to join Asia in 1991, and Jim Steinman was also in the frame at the beginning as producer before himself leaving the project but suggesting his friend Troyer as a possible member.
Though another group of musicians, which at one time was led by late former bandmate Colin Cooper, is currently calling themselves "Climax Blues Band", their lineup does not consist of any founding members, and has not found the commercial success or following that the original, "true" Climax Blues Band enjoyed during Haycock's years with the band. Cooper died in 2008. In 1984, the band members went their separate ways, and Haycock went on to record several solo projects, the first of which was the album Total Climax (1986) recorded with his new band, Pete Haycock's Climax. Pete Haycock's Climax toured extensively in Europe, including Communist East Germany, as well as a well-received tour in Australia, also releasing The Soft Spot (1987).
On 4 June 2014, Welch told NME that the band's third studio album was in the works. In January 2015, a fansite posted a photo showing Florence and the Machine's upcoming album being mixed in a recording studio. On 9 February, the band played all the songs from the new album in full, amongst them "Ship to Wreck", "Caught", "Delilah" and the album's first single, "What Kind of Man" in a private London show. The next day, on 10 February, the band released a short music video for the title track of their studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, which also acted as the official album teaser, directed by Tabitha Denholm and Vincent Haycock and shot in Mexico.
Built in 1848 by Rogers, Ketchum & Grosvenor in Paterson, New Jersey, the Yonah was the third 4-4-0 locomotive purchased by the Western and Atlantic Railroad. Very little is known about the engine's service life, but it is assumed to have served as a construction train as the railroad was being built from Atlanta, Georgia to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was believed to have been the first engine to arrive in the latter city. The engine was likely used for both freight and passenger service for the Western and Atlantic. The Yonah was an example of an early 4-4-0 design, featuring a Haycock firebox design and having its pilot wheels closely spaced with the cylinder placed above at an angle.
John Hodgson, in a memoir published in 1831, held that Horsley was born in 1685, at Pinkie House, in the parish of Inveresk, Midlothian, and that his father was a Northumberland nonconformist, who had migrated to Scotland, but returned to England soon after the Glorious Revolution of 1688. John Hodgson Hinde, in the Archaeologia Aeliana of February 1865, held that he was a native of Newcastle-on-Tyne, the son of Charles Horsley, a member of the Tailors' Company of the town. David Boyd Haycock writing in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography comments that none of the suggestions made for Horsley's background is verifiable. He was educated at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle and at Edinburgh University, where he graduated MA on 29 April 1701.
Over a ten-year period from 1830, Talbot set about redeveloping the family estate at Margam Castle. The mansion was designed in the Tudor Gothic style by architect Thomas Hopper (1776–1856), while Edward Haycock (1790–1870) was supervisory architect and designed parts of the interior and exterior of the house, the stables, terraces and lodges. Talbot also took a keen interest in the project, encouraging his architects to borrow elements from Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire (ancestral home of the Talbots and home to his cousin William Henry Fox Talbot) and Melbury House in Dorset (home of his mother's family, the Fox- Strangways, Earls of Ilchester). Margam Castle is a Grade I listed building owned by Neath and Port Talbot County Borough council.
Players such as Denis Hickie, who captained his St. Mary's College team to win the cup in 1994, and Gordon D'Arcy have impressive senior cup records. The most international players produced have come from Blackrock College, with players such as Hugo MacNeill, Brendan Mullin, Brian O'Driscoll, Victor Costello, Shane Byrne, Bob Casey, Leo Cullen and more recently Luke Fitzgerald, Ian Madigan, Jordi Murphy, Garry Ringrose and Joey Carbery. Terenure College has also produced many Irish international players including Mick Hipwell (also Lion's 1971), Kevin Flynn, Paul Haycock, Niall Hogan (Irish Captain 1995), Conor O'Shea (former head coach Italian national team), Ciaran Clarke, and Girvan Dempsey. De La Salle Churchtown produced the following Internationals - Des Fitzgerald (34 caps) played in 2 RWCs.
These efforts on behalf of the church were rewarded and on 4 December 1830 Reverend Roberts was able to submit a plan and particulars of the proposed sanctuary. The church designed by Edward Haycock of Shrewsbury is a neat Cruciform structure built in the later style of English architecture and contains accommodation for 470 people of which 230 places were to be free, in consideration of a grant of £300 from the Incorporated Society for Building and Repairing Churches and Chapels. The church was built at the southern end of Barmouth, on a site that was formerly a ship building yard. At the time of the erection of the church there was a great deal of opposition to the site; the opposing faction contending that sand-drifts would make the approach practically inaccessible.
Recruiting French bassist Xavier Tutein in February 1987, Jon Cousins and Pat D'Arcy enlisted the ex-Gender drummer Myke Vince and sound engineer Glenn Wardle (now 'front- of-house' on hammered dulcimer and bagpipes) - completing the Ophiuchus line- up with the melodeonist Pete Causer. In the summer of 1987 Cousins and D'Arcy approached Pete Haycock to produce Ophiuchus's debut double A-side single "The Serpent & the Bearded King" / "Song for Pym". The single was recorded in July and released on 11 September 1987 - on the group's own label Ophiuchvs Records - to enthusiastic reviews: "a belting bit of English pop." During the winter of 1987/spring 1988 group toured heavily throughout UK, attracting the attention of both national and independent record companies - and a growing reputation for live performances, and 'crusty' image.

According to local folklore, related in Defoe's A tour thro' the whole island of Great Britain (1724), the name Wansford-in-England comes from the tale of a local man who fell asleep on a hayrick and upon awakening found himself floating down the River Nene towards the sea. He asked a traveller on the riverbank where he was, and upon hearing the reply "Wansford", asked, "Wansford in England?". The name stuck and the Haycock Hotel takes its name from the legend. This version of the story seems to be derived by oral transmission from "Barnabæ Itinerarium, or Barnabee's Journal", an account of four long and often drunken journeys north through England published by Richard Brathwait in 1638 and reprinted in 1820, with extensive notes, by Joseph Haslewood.
The Church of England parish church of St Edith, built of mauve rubblestone with Grinshill stone dressings, has an ornate west tower of 1773, but most of the present building, the nave and chancel, was restored in 1852-53 and a north aisle added by Shrewsbury architect Edward Haycock. Inside is a plain wooden west gallery and box pews, besides a framed Roll of Honour to parish men who served in World War I, and electric lighting that was fitted in memory of five men of the parish who died serving in World War II. The churchyard contains a Commonwealth war grave of a Canadian airman of World War II. CWGC Casualty record. On a hill to the south of Pulverbatch are the earthwork remains of Castle Pulverbatch, a medieval motte-and-bailey castle.

There are likewise several other peaked > hills inland to the northward of these but they are not nearly so > remarkable. Nearly thirty years later, Lieutenant (later Captain) Matthew Flinders sailed up the coast in the sloop Norfolk. In his report to the Governor of New South Wales, Captain John Hunter, dated 14 July 1799 he wrote: > At dusk Cape Moreton bore west two or three miles, and the highest glass > house, whose peak was just topping over the distant land, had opened around > it at 3 degrees west or 4 degrees north. Legendary Poems from the Book of Taliesin ed. Marged Haycock CMCS, 2007 p.296 Giraldus Cambrensis referred to those inspired by the awen as 'awenyddion' in his Description of Wales (1194): :THERE are certain persons in Cambria, whom you will find nowhere else, called Awenyddion, or people inspired; when consulted upon any doubtful event, they roar out violently, are rendered beside themselves, and become, as it were, possessed by a spirit. They do not deliver the answer to what is required in a connected manner; but the person who skilfully observes them, will find, after many preambles, and many nugatory and incoherent, though ornamented speeches, the desired explanation conveyed in some turn of a word: they are then roused from their ecstasy, as from a deep sleep, and, as it were, by violence compelled to return to their proper senses.
Scholar Marged Haycock has suggested this battle can be identified with the Cad Goddeu, the "Battle of the Trees", best known from the tenth-century poem Cad Goddeu. Arthur is mentioned towards the end of this poem, and a fragment of a story about the battle preserved in manuscript Peniarth 98B states that the battle had an alternate name, Cad Achren, which suggests a connection with the Caer Ochren raided by Arthur in the earlier poem Preiddeu Annwfn. Various writers have asserted that this chapter supports a historical basis for King Arthur and have tried to identify the twelve battles with historical feuds or locales (see Sites and places associated with Arthurian legend). On the other hand, Caitlin Green argues that the only identifiable battles linked explicitly with Arthur in Old Welsh sources are mythological, undermining any claims that the battles had a basis in history.
The band switched labels to Harvest Records in 1970 and subsequent records had a more rock-oriented feel. John Cuffley replaced Newsome in 1971. Albums issued in the 1970s include FM/Live (1973), a double set recorded at a concert in New York, and the studio albums Stamp Album (1975) and Gold Plated (1976), featuring the single "Couldn't Get It Right". In the 1970s, the band's concerts in the US were attended by up to 20,000 people. By 1981 the band was moving towards a pop-rock sound. Holt and Cuffley left in 1983. A previously unknown recording of a live performance was released as Climax Blues Band/World Tour 1976 by the Major League Productions (MLP) record label. The album Sample and Hold was recorded for Virgin Records in 1983 by Haycock, Cooper, and Glover, with a rhythm section composed of the session musicians Dave Marquee and Henry Spinetti.
Three of the songs – The Sin, The Death of Pryderi, and The Punishment, featured a full Random Gender line up of Jon Cousins, Simon Cousins, Myke Vince and Richard Hughes. In the August 1984 Jane Hicks qualified for her Equity card and left the band, leaving the five members of its final line up: Jon Cousins, guitar and vocals; Simon Cousins, bass and vocals; Myke Vince on drums and vocals; Richard Hughes, keyboards and vocals; and Pat D’Arcy on saxophone and vocals. Random Gender became a firm favourite at Bristol's The Thekla, which was run by Ki Longfellow and her husband Vivian Stanshall, who is best known as the singer with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Among Random Gender's regular audience members at The Thekla was the actor David Rappaport, who would take great delight in introducing them onto stage. 31 December 1984 saw Pat D’Arcy and Simon Cousins travelling to Stafford to play at a New Year's Eve bash with Pat's friend Pete Haycock from the Climax Blues Band.
Their distresses were humanely relieved by the Commandant of Newcastle; Having obtained passage on the sloop Windsor back to Sydney, Hibbs, George and his passenger were again wrecked at Long Reef (near Collaroy Beach) and again had to walk along the coast with the crew and other passengers of the Windsor until able to obtain a further passage to Sydney, there being none of the modern bridges across Port Jackson that today would have allowed them to walk all the way: :and obtaining a passage for Sydney in another small vessel, the sloop Windsor, of about twenty two tons burthen, belonging to Henry Major, were again cast away, this vessel having been unfortunately wrecked upon the Long Reef, from whence they walked in.
