Rim Drive continues along the outer edge of Sun Meadow to a parking area in front of Vidae Falls, a cascade. Vidae Falls has a picnic area and a trailhead to a cinder cone called Crater Peak. The final two miles (3 km) of Rim Drive passes by the Castle Crest Wildflower Garden. The half mile long Castle Crest Nature Trail takes visitor through a wetland wildflower meadow.

At one point in time, the park also had a LVTP-5 landing vehicle, tracked, personnel and a M41A3 Walker Bulldog light tank on display. The park has a picnic area, and fishing is allowed on the pier for a small fee. There is also pedestrian access to the shoreline on either side of the park where anglers can fish for free.

The local church is dedicated to St. Margaret and was originally built in the 13th century despite having a Victorian bell tower with a solitary bell. Village amenities include a primary school and a piece of land next to the church which was purchased in 2004 on behalf of the village for common use and now has a picnic bench and BBQ with disabled access. The local shop and post office have closed in recent years. Hapton Hall is located close to the village and the Norwich-London Liverpool St. mainline.

Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Lepaqoa Valley, the visitor centre has a picnic site and interpretative trail to the top of the Lepaqoa Falls, as well as guides and horses for hire. There is also a two- to three-day hike along the alpine plateau to Ts'ehlanyane National Park to the north. The reservoir has a picnic area, two free car parks and there are also some benches around the lake that provide a quiet place of reflection. There are two main walking routes, the long walking route is and goes as far as Blackpool Bridge in Holmfirth. Qu'Appelle Hockey rink, 1903 Dealing again with Qu'Appelle's lively historical past, horse racing and harness racing were the earliest recreational activities in the area, with several avid horsemen competing in annual events. Cricket matches and hockey games were early community activities; lantern slides and movie shows were enjoyed in the late 19th century and onward when church halls and, later, when in the 1900s through the 1950s the town cinema on Main Street provided movies. Moving to today's diminished liveliness within the town, the Recreation and Culture Committee oversees the activities at the skating rink, Centennial and Capital Day Parks, Community Hall, tennis court and library. The Mclean Recreation Site 17 km (11 mi) west of Qu'Appelle has a picnic area.
