The descent down the eastern slope contains a dangerous hairpin curve that has been the site of many accidents over the years. After passing under Schlicher's Covered Bridge and a pedestrian footbridge, the Jordan Creek makes a hairpin curve, ultimately turning to flow straight south. To the east of the creek, in this section, arises Elk Ridge—the last and easterly most rise of the Schochary Ridge. The elevation rise from Jordan Creek to Elk Ridge is the steepest gradient and largest elevation gain in the park. The Jordan continues under a second pedestrian bridge—erected in 1997—and over the Zoo's ford.

From Cadiz, US 250's name changes to Cadiz-Harrisville Road, heading south-southeast. Shortly after exiting the city, US 250 begins to curve and wind sharply, with several hairpin turns. For much of this distance, the road is surrounded by dense residential areas and runs on ridge tops. After it passes through Harrisville, the road becomes less curvy but is fronted densely with homes for almost the remainder of its route within the state, save the forest at its south end, where it features another hairpin curve.

However, trucks are required to use newer alignment (SR 341) due to 15% grades and hairpin curves. The route begins just south of Gold Hill, at the junction with SR 341. Both routes have Virginia City listed as the first control city, however all trucks are directed to use SR 341 instead of SR 342.

As it heads south, it passes a rest stop at Parres, a small town within Mexico City limits, with amenities such as a Federal Police booth, restaurants and convenience stores. At kilometer 47, the road passes into Morelos, arriving in Tres Marías later after a rest stop at Covadonga. The road turns east and then makes a hairpin curve dubbed La Pera (The Pear), bending for the southwest and toward Cuernavaca. As Tres Marías has a large motorcycling community, the highway in this area is sometimes used as a motorcycle race track, with fatal consequences for those who fall off at the curve.

Northernmost entrance to I-476 near Clarks Summit Past this interchange, I-476 enters Lackawanna County and crosses built-up areas of the Wyoming Valley as it skirts around Scranton, with a mainline all-electronic toll plaza, where tolls can be paid with E-ZPass or toll-by-plate, and an exit to Keyser Avenue. North of Scranton in Clarks Summit, the route crosses a valley on the , John E. Fitzgerald Memorial Bridge, comes to a hairpin curve, and ends at an interchange with connections to I-81, US 6 and US 11\. US 6 joins the turnpike for less than to connect between I-81 and US 11. As this is beyond the Clarks Summit all- electronic toll plaza, no toll is collected on this short segment.

Lake Washington Boulevard E. Another hairpin curve in the boulevard Lakeview Park is a 4.5 acre (18,000 m²) park in the Denny-Blaine neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, designed as part of the Olmsted Brothers park system in Seattle. It is located on both sides of Lake Washington Boulevard E. as it winds down a hillside toward Lake Washington. The western half is a bowl-like park with grass and trees along Dorffel Drive E. and E. Harrison Street; the eastern half incorporates a lookout at the end of E. Harrison Street and undeveloped hillside between Hillside Drive E. and McGilvra Boulevard E. The upper campus of The Bush School is located across E. Harrison Street and Hillside Drive E. from the park. This Seattle Park is also known to many as Mud Park because in the rain it becomes somewhat of a mud pit.
