Ginger was of great help to Pedrick in developing his inventions. Unfortunately, it is recounted in some of the patents how Ginger was unable to secure financing to put the inventions into practice.
"Her focused approach, hard work, sacrifice and consistent commitment has paid of", says her mother who has encouraged her and has been a great help in looking after the kids when Aparna is out on Expeditions. I don't think it would have been possible without mom's selfless contribution. Her children, ten-year-old Spandana and five-year-old Neelkantha are ecstatic and say that "We are Proud of Mom and are happy that now Mom shall be returning home soon with some gifts and souvenir for us".
He was elected as Member of Parliament for Sheffield on 7 July 1852 and continued to represent it until 29 January 1874. In parliament he acted with the advanced liberal party. He spoke frequently in the House of Commons, and his advice on matters relating to legal reform was much appreciated. He introduced the act relating to the registration of judgments, gave great help in passing the Common Law Procedure Act of 1854, and was the author of the Qualification for Offices Abolition Act of 1866.
A ringtest is part of an external quality assurance programme for a measuring method. Usually a reference institute sends identical samples which have to be analysed for special parameters to different laboratories. The industrial, medical or research laboratory gets a limited time with a deadline to send in the analysis results. The statistical evaluation and interpretation of the laboratories’ results is a great help for all participating labs as it opens the possibility to assess the quality of their analysis compared to other laboratories.
On February 3, Olviopol (now Pervomaisk) and Ochakov (now Ochakiv) were captured. On February 6, the Red Army approached Odessa. Early in the morning of February 7, they broke into the city, and on February 8, Odessa was completely captured by the Red Army. Great help to the Red Army in taking the city was provided by the Odessa workers, who, on the orders of the Revolutionary Committee, had taken up arms and seized critical points in Odessa just before the approach of the regular units.
Goddard left, keeping some guards in charge of the fort, but they too left after a year. There was peace at the fort for the next 100 years or so, which was at last broken at the time of the First War of Independence in 1857. Amar Singh, the brother of Kunwar Singh, together with his companions took refuge here. There were many encounters with the British where the latter were at a disadvantage, for the jungles and the tribal in them were of great help to the Indian soldiers.
Sound associations for words are indelibly imprinted on the nervous system--even of deaf people, since they will have associated the word with the mechanism for causing the sound or a sign in a particular sign language. At the slower reading rates (100–300 words per minute), subvocalizing may improve comprehension. Subvocalizing or actual vocalizing can indeed be of great help when one wants to learn a passage verbatim. This is because the person is repeating the information in an auditory way, as well as seeing the piece on the paper.
The first Thai convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was Nangnoi Thitapoora who was baptized on September 11, 1966. The first Thai male convert was Anan Eldredge, who was baptized on December 24, 1967. The surname Eldredge comes from the surname of a Latter-day Saint family working in Thailand who offered to adopt him so he could attend college in the United States. Anan was a great help to the missionaries working in Thailand after his baptism, helping them with the language and translation of church materials.
Barbara Pym's characters often reappear or are referenced in later novels. In Jane and Prudence (1953), one of the characters mentions that "nice Miss Lathbury" has married an anthropologist (presumably Everard). In Less than Angels (1955), Everard reappears as a character, described as "having married a rather dull woman who was nevertheless a great help to him in his work; as a clergyman's daughter she naturally got on very well with the missionaries that they were meeting now that they were in Africa again." Later Pym writes "Everard's wife Mildred would do the typing".
In Cuttack, Begum Badar proved to be of a great help to her husband, they both started to work for the upliftment of the muslim society. She helped Sayeed establish the Muslim Seminary at Cuttack. After Sayeed's early death in 1922, Begum Badar un nissa was debarred from the family property and title as per the Shariat, nevertheless she did not let this or her widowhood come on her way in carrying forward her husband's legacy. In the early 1900s the idea of female education was still new in Odisha.
The former East Bosnian railway with a gauge of was an important part of the former narrow- gauge main line from Sarajevo to Belgrade and closed in 1974. Between 1999 and 2003 the section over the Šargan pass was rebuilt by the Serbian Ministry of Tourism and the Yugoslav state railway JŽ, now the Serbian railways (Železnice Srbije) with great help from Emir Kusturica, a famous film director who had the town of Drvengrad (near the Šargan Eight station on Mokra Gora) built for one of his movies.
The cinematographer Arthur Miller remembered Anton Grot: > "a gifted and talented artist who made beautiful charcoal drawings...of the > set before it was completed. All his compositions showed a full shot of each > set, with all the delicate tones and shadings that suggested ideas for > lighting and, in general, were of great help to me as a cameraman." Grot arrived in Hollywood to assist Wilfred Buckland with the sets for the Douglas Fairbanks Robin Hood (1922); and stayed on, to work with Cecil B. DeMille and William K. Howard.
An early F4U-1 showing the "birdcage" canopy with rearwards production cockpit location. In 1943, he was responsible for the establishment of a research and development department in the company. The department developed various items which would be of great help to the United States military during its involvement in World War II. Among the items produced were the first practical airplane tire, long-haul conveyor belts, hydraulic disc brakes for airplanes, the first pneumatic truck tire, and a bullet-sealing fuel tank for military airplanes. The research department provided work for 250 research scientists.
Primary hepatocytes are commonly used in cell biological and biopharmaceutical research. In vitro model systems based on hepatocytes have been of great help to better understand the role of hepatocytes in (patho)physiological processes of the liver. In addition, pharmaceutical industry has heavily relied on the use of hepatocytes in suspension or culture to explore mechanisms of drug metabolism and even predict in vivo drug metabolism. For these purposes, hepatocytes are usually isolated from animal or human whole liver or liver tissue by collagenase digestion, which is a two- step process.
As in the previous editions particular attention was given to fixed expressions and idioms, elucidated and grouped in a set fashion at the end of a lemma. HAT3 was the first Afrikaans dictionary in which the compiler tried to give a proper explanation of the modus operandi and the theoretical principles on which a dictionary is based. Still lacking was a schematic representation of the various components of a lemma, something which could be of great help to the user. This was rectified in HAT4 and even more so in HAT5.
Both spoke Hindustani, which greatly facilitated the travel in the interior as Bombay spoke several native languages beside Swahili. Speke was much attached to Bombay and spoke highly of his honesty and conscientiousness. Bombay's efforts in dealing with hostile tribes, interpreting and keeping the safari crew on track was a great help to the expedition. Less is known of Mabruki, the other caravan leader, but he was later known as Mabruki Speke, and like Bombay became one of East Africa's great caravan leaders and was also a member of the Yao tribe like Bombay.
They grew barley and wheat, which they brought by barge (M71) to the Mill in Waterford in the late winter time. Later on they grew potatoes and sold them in their shop "The Gourmet" which they started in Lombard street (1963-6) (extant summer 2014). All machinery was carried across the river in a "cattle boat", the remains of which can be seen lying on the mud just down-river from the landing place. In this time, they received great help from the Grant and Carslake families who lived and worked on the farm.
The woman falls into the water and is lost to them, leaving Lazaro with little reason to refuse Juan's plea for him to stay, and that Juan needs his sidekick. To Camila's dismay, Juan's idea to take advantage of the situation is revealed: He starts a business, which he rationalizes will also be a great help for other survivors, with the slogan: "Juan of the Dead: we kill your beloved ones. How can we help you?" For a price, the five men in the group enter homes and slay the zombified residents.
As of June 10, 2010, the project is in very advanced stages and said to be completed by the end of 2010. This project combined with the current construction of Line 2 of Santo Domingo Metro would be of great help for the crosstown commuters that live in Los Alcarrizos and Santo Domingo Oeste and need to travel east into the Distrito Nacional or Santo Domingo Este. Currently many traffic alterations and re-routing are taking place as these projects remain in construction causing temporary discomfort and delay to citizens.
He has worked for over ten years as a literary translator with Random House Mondadori, S.A., a leading Spanish language publisher. Some of the authors he has translated are David Sedaris, Jonathan Safran Foer, Glenway Wescott, Rosie Alison, Peter May, Rabih Alameddine and A. L. Kennedy. His work as a translator was a great help in writing his first novel, as it exposed him to many books and diverse writing techniques. He has always been a supporter of thriller novels, and has read Agatha Christie’s books since he was a child.
And after his death George Lambton said, "Even when quite a boy he was courted and flattered by every kind of man and woman, and early in life he became the idol of the public... and yet he never suffered from that prevalent and disagreeable complaint, 'swollen head'. I think the shrewd, hard common sense of Mat Dawson, for whom he had the greatest affection and respect, was a great help to him." Dawson was not entirely complimentary about him, calling him "that damned, long-legged, tin-scrapping young devil".
The Vorontsov Palace in Saint Petersburg, designed by Rastrelli, remains a monument to his power. During the reign of Peter III of Russia (January to July, 1762), Mikhail Vorontsov was the most powerful man in Russia, as his niece Elizaveta Vorontsova became the Emperor's mistress. Peter's wife Catherine, alarmed by her husband's plans to divorce her and marry Elizaveta Vorontsova, deposed her husband, with great help from her bosom friend, Yekaterina Romanovna Vorontsova-Dashkova, the wife of Prince Dashkov and Elizaveta's own sister. Yekaterina Dashkova's brothers, Alexander and Semyon Romanovich, both became notable diplomats.
Yet Vince did not expect that this time, James is asking help not in his school requirements but in texting and getting to be friends with the girl they both admire, Kath. James initially didn't receive any reply from Kath after messaging her which he didn't know was due to Kath not having an internet connection. James also found out that Vince helped another schoolmate Clinton to have a girlfriend so he thinks that Vince would really be a great help to make Kath notice him. Vince agrees reluctantly to James' request.
But in terms > of actual military power, the West's advantage does not seem to have been > made use of. It is at least matched, and many would say overmatched, in the > nuclear field; the Western forces in Europe have less than half the striking > power of their opponents. It is no good our being more advanced than they > are if this is not translated into power—both military power and political > willpower." In 1986, Conquest affirmed that "a science-fiction attitude is a great help in understanding the Soviet Union.
From base camp in a spot they called Paradise Valley, they decided to attempt the mountain from the south rather than via the west ridge. Due to deep snow, they realized that skis and snowshoes would be of great help so Carpe and Moore made the round trip to fetch them from Lituya Bay. They ascended the glacier from base camp and setup camp at on the mountain's south face. On May 25, they established high camp at after making significant progress up a ridge on a rare day of good weather.
"Cott, p. 231 Barbara Lesko wrote, "She was a great help to Egyptian scholars, especially Hassan and Fakhry, correcting their English and writing English language articles for others. So this poorly educated Englishwoman developed in Egypt into a first rate draughtswoman and prolific and talented writer who, even under her own name, produced articles, essays, monographs and books of great range, wit and substance." William Golding wrote of the Egyptologists he met in his travels through Egypt in the 1980s who were "as well disposed to the Mystery as any child could have wished.
He also held a notable position at the University of Florence. While Pulci's husband did come from a distinguished family, Bernardo Pulci's family was eventually bankrupted by the eldest son's thoughtless investments. When the eldest son died in 1470, Bernardo and his other brothers were left to face the dishonor on their family; they had to take on the responsibility of supporting their family financially. So, Antonia's dowry of a thousand florins was of great help for solving the financial difficulties that Bernardo was forced to deal with.
Group and individual therapy is used to help ease symptoms and treat the phobia. In mild cases of autophobia, treatment can sometimes be very simple. Therapists recommend many different remedies to make patients feel as though they are not alone even when that is the case, such as listening to music when running errands alone or turning on the television when at home, even if it is just for background noise. Using noise to interrupt the silence of isolated situations can often be a great help for people suffering from autophobia.
This is how he met Salah Rahoui (in Arabic صالح رحوي) who had written songs for Khaled, Cheba Zahouania, Cheb Sahraoui, Cheb Akil, Gipsy Kings. The resulting independent debut album of Najim in 2004 Kount Enhawes won great accolades and sold 8000 copies. Most of the material appears again in his first official studio album Hasbtak ana. In 2007, with being signed to Virgin Music France, Najim came back with his second official studio album Saba again produced by Salah Rahoui retro and modern sounds with great help from established names in raï.
Some of the men in Dr. Thompson's church saw his Bible and > told him this would be a great help to them in their Bible study too. They > encouraged Dr. Thompson to have his Bible, with marginal references, > published so that everyone could enjoy the blessing of this helpful study > tool. The first version of Thompson's study Bible was published in 1908 by the Methodists Book Concern of Dobbs Ferry, New York. Five years later, in 1913, Dr. Thompson was joined by B. B. Kirkbride, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
R. Keyserlingk wrote that the Declaration brought the Allies more harm than good. The operation of British propagandists among Austrian soldiers at the Italian front failed : the Moscow Declaration has not influenced the fighting spirit of German troops and, probably, merely was a great help for Goebbels' counterpropaganda. Austria was far behind the lines of belligerent Germany and the reaction of Austrian civilians on the Moscow Declaration was twofold. On one hand, people made a false conclusion that the status of "the first victim" will help Austria to avoid allied bombings.
The victory of the Chinese Communists in the civil war of 1946-1949 relied on the great help of the USSR (see Chinese Civil War). Trotsky, and others, believed that the revolution could only succeed in Russia as part of a world revolution. Lenin wrote extensively on the matter and famously declared that Imperialism was the highest stage of capitalism. However, after Lenin's death, Joseph Stalin established 'socialism in one country' for the Soviet Union, creating the model for subsequent inward looking Stalinist states and purging the early Internationalist elements.
Lord's grave in the family plot at Green Mount Cemetery Lord, a lifelong bachelor, died at age 84 on May 19, 2002, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, at his Manhattan home. Noted historian David McCullough said of Lord at his death, "He was one of the most generous and kind-hearted men I've ever known, and when I had stars in my eyes and wanted to become a writer, he was a great help. I'll always be indebted to him." Lord is buried in his maternal family's plot at historic Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore.
In June 1946, the Prioress General of the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, Rev. Mo. Natividad Pilapil, OP, received another invitation from the Bishop of the Diocese of Calbayog, Most Rev. Miguel Acebedo, DD. The request was to open a school in Catarman that would be of great help to the Church's mission of teaching its doctrines and practicing its morals. In answer to the request of the Bishop, the prioress general instructed three Sisters assigned in La Milagrosa Academy in Calbayog City, Samar to proceed to Catarman and administer the opening of a new school.
The use of mediums to communicate with spirits is an important practice in traditional Chinese culture, and is closely linked to ancestor worship. The medium (mun mai poh, ) or "ask rice woman" helps to ask the ancestor what they require on the other side, and these needs can be provided through the burning of paper effigies. In return, the spirit can be of great help in matters such as winning the lottery or being admitted to low-cost government housing. The person visiting the medium will take a cup of rice from their kitchen to identify the family.
Graham's old friend, Jamie McDougall (Gordon Richards), asks him to stand again for Parliament. Graham is reluctant to do so and shows an old newspaper clipping to McDougall, reminding him that Graham ended his political career to avoid public disgrace after his wife ran off with a "sportsman." McDougall burns the clipping in the fireplace and tells Graham it all happened 15 years ago and will not be remembered. Graham is convinced to travel to Suffolk to meet a man who could be of great help in his election bid, with Peabody acting as his chauffeur.
Rory's status as a demigoddess entails that she cannot die and can recover from any wound; upon her 1,000th birthday, she will ascend and become a full goddess. She's superhumanly strong, which allows her to wield her extremely heavy signature halberd with ease, and very fast and agile, with centuries of combat experience. Her presence and status as an Apostle are also a great help to Itami's group in establishing social relations within the Special Region. Her only major weakness is her fear of going underground, due to her dislike for Hardy, who desires Rory as her bride.
Employees of the ASAN service monitor the work of the state bodies, check for compliance with ethics rules and manage the queue system. Monitoring report by OECD has praised Azerbaijan "for advancing Azerbaijani Service and Assessment Network (ASAN) centers, which has contributed to eliminating the conditions that are conducive to corruption when delivering various administrative services to the public". Azerbaijan 2016 report by EEAS acknowledged ASAN services have been a great help in the elimination of corruption and bribery, as well as removing bureaucracy in public service delivery. A similar institution is planned to be established in Afghanistan as well.
She was to great help to her husband and governed the state during his rule. She was loyal to her husband and state, and it was she who persuaded the nobles at an assembly in Arad to execute 68 Hungarian aristocrats who had plotted with King Coloman to blind her husband. According to contemporary sources she was attending the execution with her son Bela, in order to secure the death of her husband's enemies. Serbian Kovin Monastery was founded by Helena She settled Serbs in Csepel Island, and Ráckeve, where she built a monastery and church which exist still today.
The Commission was responsible for the collection of preservation of Irish folk tradition of all forms, with the additional tasks of cataloguing the material under classification, their study and exposition. With funding at a limit, the Commission was often limited to six to nine collectors. While graduate and university students could be of great help as collectors, the Commission was focused on Ireland's diverse populations. They went to fisherman, primary teachers, as well as professional collectors with the idea that "anyone who does go among the people must go among them as one of themselves and have no high-faluting nonsense about them".
In 1999, output increased for only the second time since 1991, by an officially estimated 6.4%, regaining 4.6% drop of 1998. This increase was achieved despite a year of potential turmoil that included the tenure of three premiers and culminated in the New Year's Eve resignation of President Boris Yeltsin. Of great help was the tripling of international oil prices in the second half of 1999, raising the export surplus to $29 billion. On the negative side, inflation rose to an average 85% in 1998, compared with an 11% average in 1997 and a hoped-for 36% average in 1999.
John Redmond MP, first leader of the United Irish League. Around 1900 O'Brien, an unbending social reformer and agrarian agitator, was the most influential and powerful figure within the nationalist movement, although not formally its leader. The period was marked by considerable political development in which Davitt had been of great help during the crucial years of the League's existence, but in February, worn out and ill, he left for abroad.O'Brien, Joseph V.: pp.111&119 The settlement of the party leadership question now focused on the two most important men in Irish politics, O'Brien and Redmond.
Nothing is known about early life of Shashigupta. He was presumably a military adventurer, a leader of corporation of professional soldiers (band of mercenary soldiers) whose main goals were economic and military pursuits. In all probability, Shashigupta was a professional soldier and led a corporation of mercenary soldier to help Persians especially Bessus, the Iranian Satrap of Bactria but once his case was lost, Shashigupta, along with band of warriors (obviously as mercenary soldiers), threw his lot with the invaders and thereafter, rendered a great help to Alexander during latter's campaigns of Sogdiana and later also of the Kunar and Swat valleys.
A carrier box or shooting box can be of great help for convenient transporting of the firearm from station to station on the range. Clothing such as commercial-type trap and skeet vests (sleeveless) and shotgun shooting shirts are permitted as well as clothing normally suitable for existing climatic temperatures. Shooting coats, unnecessarily heavy clothing, or anything that would provide artificial support such as clothing having excess padding or stiffening material or which restricts or supports the body in the shooting position may not be worn. In black powder cartridge rifle competitions only period costumes are permitted.
This man, who had learned the main principles of European treatment, received great help from Dr. Livingstone, a friend of Morrison's, who was much interested in this attempt to alleviate the sufferings of the poorer Chinese. The college in Malacca, Malaysia in 1834 Anglo-Chinese College campus was located in the British Straits Settlements of Malacca, Malaysia. Morrison and Milne also established a school for Chinese and Malay children in 1818. The school, named Anglo-Chinese College (later called Ying Wa College), was moved to Hong Kong around 1843 after the territory became a British possession.
As well as the schools they got great help from, the British Army helped and the club used Army Junior Units as venues for the Cross Country Leagues. In conjunction with the former Aldershot Borough Council, evening sports meeting were arranged which was often the introduction for young school children and young servicemen to the sport. The Aldershot Council also helped to buy an old Army hut which we re-erected in Aldershot Park as the club headquarters at the new grass track. The Aldershot Club was very much on the up and one of the most talked about clubs in the country.
Fr. Glatzel single-handedly funded and supervised the construction of the school's major classroom blocks and its first ever staff bungalow. Some notable teachers who were of great help to the school in its teething years include; Charles Oko Agyeman, Reverend Father John McVoy (became 2nd rector), Rev. Sr. Gerald (Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit), the first female teacher, Monsignor John Oppong Baah, Reverend Brother Joe Tsiquaye (Congregation of Holy Cross), among others. The school trained seminarians through Ghana's old educational system and participated in the West African Examinations Council's General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level Exams.
After the fort was built, the colonial Portuguese used it for a year, mainly as a military establishment and as a regular watering stop for their ships. The military operations launched from this location helped Almeida subdue initial enemies like Timoja (a Hindu privateer who served the Vijayanagara Empire and later became of great help for the Portuguese). Subsequently, when Adil Shah of Bijapur attacked with a large force, there was intense bombardment and fierce strategic attacks in which the Viceroy's son D. Lourenço also took part. After four days of intense fighting, Adil Shah of Bijapur retreated.
The sincere, loyal > friendship of almost half a century and the many vicissitudes and memories > that we shared make this loss deeply painful, irreparable. Arrivabene's friendships with the literary and musical figures of the day and his work as a critic for the prominent theatrical journal Figaro had been a great help to Verdi at the beginning of his career, and he later advised the composer on plays that might be suitable for his operas. However, their correspondence ranged far wider than artistic subjects. They wrote to each other on everything from gastronomy to politics (where both adhered to the liberalism of Cavour).
When properly controlled; however, the land otter can be of great help to fishermen who penetrate the sacred realm beyond social boundaries. Those drowned and married to land otters (and their land otter children) can return to their human relations and assist them, usually by helping them catch abundant supplies of seafood. The land otters can only eat raw food, for if they eat cooked fish they will die; and as supernatural beings, after being out on the water they must regain land and find shelter before the raven calls or they will die. Those that drown and are saved by the Kushtaka are known as Kushtakakhaa.
His grandson, William G. Temple, was an ordained priest in the Roman Catholic Church and was the first priest at St. Elizabeth's Parish in Wilmington. An obituary reads: > He was emphatically a man of the world, possessing those rare qualities > calculated to win every man and repel none. Frank, generous, familiar and > courteous, he possessed the key to unlock the hearts of men and blend their > interests with his in the prosecution of the public interest. Certainly he > was a very pure minded, honorable man, a man of soul and feeling, a friend > of all and a great help to many in times of need.
When Adelard's influence on the study of philosophy is considered, it is clear that his ideas most notably manifested in the later works of Robert Grosseteste and Roger Bacon.Gracia, Jorge J. E. and Timothy B. Noone (eds.). A Companion to Philosophy in the Middle Ages (Malden, MA: Blackwell, 2003) While his work in natural philosophy is probably overshadowed by Aristotle, it still helped lay the foundations for much of the progress that was made in the later centuries. His work surrounding Euclid's Elements, for example, was of great help in providing training that would help future scholars understand the relationships between demonstrative and geometrical proofs.
Hi-tech mobile and wireless equipment were used for the invasion and the broadcasting once again. Dancing an illegal wireless roboballet in the kitchen of the Teatro alla Scala was a challenge to the Intima Virtual Base, as a result the preparations have been taken seriously, safety procedures have been taken, and the previous experience from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow has been a great help. In November 2004, Teatro alla Scala was temporarily closed for the public due to renovation works; therefore all the performances took place at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi. So the project was not affected by any means from the theatre management.
The new reservoir, which was named Loch Faskally, was built across the River Tummel, flooding a large area upstream. The concrete dam incorporates massive steel floodgates to control water levels, with a walkway across the top with viewing windows to the powerhouse. Despite considerable local opposition to the construction of the new loch and power station, it became an instant attraction and now includes a visitor centre, explaining hydro-electric generation and the lives of the gangs of workmen who built the system. The chain of reservoirs and dams has been a great help in controlling the flooding problems of the Tay valley to the east.
The collision resulted in Georg Stage sinking, causing the deaths of 22 sailors in the program. Following the collision an eyewitness noted the following: > It was a great help for us, when the Swedish steam ship Irene, put light on > the collision site, using her fine lights, which eased the rescue operation > a lot. Our own great boat was put into the water, but rolled over and some > of the sailors in training had to hold onto the great boat, until the boat > from Ancona reached us. The Georg Stage was raised, refitted and continued as a training ship until 1934, when it was put into retirement.
Georg Friedrich Grotefend The Akkadian language began to be rediscovered when Carsten Niebuhr in 1767 was able to make extensive copies of cuneiform texts and published them in Denmark. The deciphering of the texts started immediately, and bilinguals, in particular Old Persian-Akkadian bilinguals, were of great help. Since the texts contained several royal names, isolated signs could be identified, and were presented in 1802 by Georg Friedrich Grotefend. By this time it was already evident that Akkadian was a Semitic language, and the final breakthrough in deciphering the language came from Edward Hincks, Henry Rawlinson and Jules Oppert in the middle of the 19th century.
The number of brethren in the community and the extent of its activities reached a peak around 1960 with over 90 brothers engaged in 12 houses spread over three continents. A new part of the world was explored when the community accepted an invitation to run Codrington Theological College in Barbados in the West Indies from 1955 to 1969. Having a stable religious community on the site, where students came from a far distance, was a great help for this widespread diocese. A similar invitation was given from the Church in Wales, where the bishops wanted the charism of CR to be spread among university students.
In June, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Adeel Akhtar and Fiona Shaw joined the cast, with Sam Claflin, Louis Partridge, Susie Wokoma and Burn Gorman joining in July as filming began in London. Railway scenes were filmed in Worcestershire at Arley railway station, Kidderminster Town railway station and Victoria Bridge on the Severn Valley Railway. The Holmes family residence Ferndell Hall was filmed at Benthall Hall in Shropshire. Bethnall Hall had not previously been used as a filming location, and the production design team received great help from the head groundskeeper who allowed the place to become overgrown to achieve the look they needed.
Plutarch wrote that when Sulla was appointed dictator "he admired Pompey for his high qualities and thought him a great help in his administration of affairs, he was anxious to attach him to himself by some sort of a marriage alliance. His wife Metella shared his wishes, and together they persuaded Pompey to divorce Antistia and marry Aemilia." The marriage was tragic, "the young woman died in childbirth at the house of Pompey." Plutarch commented that "This marriage was therefore characteristic of a tyranny, and befitted the needs of Sulla rather than the nature and habits of Pompey..." The Via Aemilia Scaura is a Roman road built by Marcus Aemilius Scaurus.
Religious organizations The church expects every Christian to participate in the mission of the church in one way or another as is possible according to each one's life situation. Mission League, Yuva Deepthi, Mathru Deepthi, Vincent De Paul Society, Sunday School, Family Apostolate play a great role in the development of the sacramental life of the parishners, Friends of St. Antonys high school, started in 2015 is great help in the academic and other developments of the school. Deepika Friends Club is a social development movement as a part of communal conscience. The Parish is going to celebrate the centenary of the church in 2019.
Spinal trouble resulted and she became an invalid for three years and was obliged to give up her profession. Part of this time, she was a cripple and under treatment at Auburn Hospital, after which upon the advice of physicians, she went to Nice, France where the climate proved a great help toward her recovery. She was absent from the musical world for three years, and during this enforced idleness showed the fortitude and patience, gaining many friends. As her prolonged ill-health involved great pecuniary loss, an action to recover damages was brought by Parcells against the city of Auburn, through whose official negligence the accident occurred.
Founded in Milan in 1953, Covema (Commissionaria Vendita Macchine) first devoted itself to the commercialization of plastic processing machinery. This marketing activity was a great help to the growth and development of the Luigi Bandera spa in Busto Arsizio, which at the time was making the first blown film extrusion lines to produce plastic bags and films. One of the most successful markets of this initial activity of Covema was the US market where, thanks to Covema's intermediation, the Luigi Bandera spa exported dozens of blown film extrusion lines during the 1950s. Marco Terragni was the main proponent of such sales success towards the North American market.
The main goal of the Đinđić's government was to reform the country exhausted of 1990s wars and to work towards joining the EU. The newly elected Yugoslav president Vojislav Koštunica, although ally of Đinđić, had much more conservative policies opposed to Đinđić's policies. Đinđić was seen as a pro-western politician and Koštunica as neutral, with aspirations to closer ties with Russia. Although many new laws in this period were adopted and the economy stabilised with the great help from the western countries, the consequences of the bloody 1990s remained in some form. The western countries pushed the Đinđić's government to cooperate with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
On the 17 July 1784 the church burned out and there was a real danger of its complete destruction. Fortunately local citizens with great help of Matěj Sychra managed to cover the whole area and in the end saved it for future generations. Permission to restore the church was given by the gubernium (administrative unit) in 1792 with the conditions that the church would no longer be a pilgrimage church, and that the cemetery of Žďár nad Sázavou would be moved to the church area. Nowadays, the cemetery is no longer in use and is in fact being slowly moved out, to give the place the original look as it had in baroque times.
The 800 men of the AMPC force were rushed into the gap between the two Guards battalions and another 150 were sent to reinforce the Welsh Guards. The anti-aircraft gunners guarding the southern roads destroyed two German tanks with their 3.7-inch anti-aircraft guns and then retired. The Germans began a pincer attack on the positions of the Welsh and Irish Guards and by the southern pincer, backed up by artillery and air support, had made the open slopes around the town untenable; the Guards were forced back into the town. Fliegerkorps VIII ( Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen) sent to destroy the fortifications at Boulogne which was of great help to the attacking forces.
Pratima Patil proved a great help in this aspect as she is the encouraging and instrumental factor for the organization of Gruhini Mahotsav held annually for the last fifteen years. This event has provided a platform for women for exhibiting their industrial, business and commercial skills. Till date, more than 7000 Mahila Bachat Gat (self-help groups) have been established and over 50 thousand women have learned various professional skills from about 5500 skill training camps conducted in the district. All-round knowledge, power of grasping, recognizing social problems, frankness, prompt decisions and a desire to work for the weaker sections of the society are the signatory features of the personality of Satej [Bunty] D Patil.
"Around AA groups different subgroups have formed to support the families: Al-Anon ... Alateen ... as well as groups for the adult child, ACoA. Discovering not being alone with one's problems is often a great help for these youths, and the contact with other youths with the same worries can help them get out of minimizing and denying the problem."It will never happen to me - Growing Up With Addiction As Youngsters, Adolescents, Adults; Chapter 8, Resources; Claudia Black, Ph. D. (Quoted and translated from the Swedish translation of the book) Dr. Janet G. Woititz, author of Adult Children of Alcoholics, endorsed the ACA.Dr. Woititz's doctoral dissertation was on The Self Esteem of Children of Alcoholics.
Tessa Bielecki, Mirabai Starr, 2008 Teresa of Avila: The Book of My Life pp 238–241 She wrote: The twentieth-century nun and mystic Saint Faustina in her diary (paragraph 601) said she once sprinkled a dying sister with holy water to drive away demons. Although this was wrong to do, since it was the priest's duty, she remarked, "holy water is indeed of great help to the dying."Liturgical Year: Divine Mercy In My Soul In Holy Water and Its Significance for Catholics, Cistercian priest Henry Theiler states that in addition to being a strong force in repelling evil, holy water has the twofold benefit of providing grace for both body and soul.Theiler, Henry (1909).
A number of biochemical and molecular genetic mechanisms are known that enable malignant cells to invade surrounding tissues and gain the ability to spread far beyond the primary tumor site, giving rise to the development of secondary metastatic foci in distant organs and tissues. However, despite the achieved progress, there remain unexplored questions concerning a possible relationship between different types of invasive cell growth and the parameters of lymphogenous and hematogenous metastasis, the features of disease progression, as well as the efficacy of the chosen therapy. A solution to these problems could be of great help in determining the disease prognosis and, possibly, developing new approaches to the management of cancer patients.
This study also showed the benefits of tutoring while also using peer practice which is also another way the speaker can receive feedback and improve on their speech so their anxiety level will be lowered. Virtual Reality, VR, has also been a great help to those struggling with CA. Virtual Reality Therapy is a technology that enables users to enter computer-generated worlds and interact with them through sight, sound, and touch. VR may provide them with a sense of mastery or self-efficacy and, in turn, result in improved perception of performance and satisfaction with performance. The VR Practice can help with the anxiety that is caused be CA and help the speaker feel more prepared overall.
Up to the time of the publication of the Principia in 1687 the method of fluxions which had been invented by Newton, and had been of great assistance to him in his mathematical investigations, was still, except to Newton and his friends, a secret. One of the most important rules of the method forms the second lemma of the second book of the Principia. Though this new and powerful method was of great help to Newton in his work, he did not exhibit it in the results. He was aware that the well known geometrical methods of the ancients would make his new creations seem less strange and uncouth to those not familiar with the new method.
New Chinese Grammar Li Jinxi was a founder of the modern Chinese grammar theory, an advocator and vanguard of the Mandarin revolution. His book, New Chinese Grammar (), published in 1924 by Shanghai Commercial Press, became the first comprehensive and systematic description of the modern Chinese grammar. This book, the summary of his long years’ Chinese teaching experience, was applied to the high school education, so it produced a lasting effect on student generations in China from 1920s through 1950s. When Li Jinxi devoted himself in proceeding the reform of Mandarin, he especially focused on promoting the alphabetic writing, which did a great help to the adult literacy project () and children literacy education.
Not long after that, her colleague Anderson, and company, left San Francisco, while Josephine stayed to live with both her sons. Gilbert M. Anderson was a difficult individual to work with on set and when he asked Rector to come to San Francisco, she replied: "No, I’ve had enough of you". When her oldest son died around that time, she was rehired seven months later by the same crew, who moved back to San Rafael for work. Anderson realized how valuable Josephine's work is to the company and asked her: "Send all the stories you have and also let me know how your account stands… I appreciate your work and realize you are a great help to us".
He also guested from time to time with the British Army. In the period between 1975 and 1980, he managed a rock club called The Bandwagon Heavy Metal Soundhouse, originally resident in the back-room of the Prince of Wales public house in Kingsbury, North London; this back-room venue was known as 'The Bandwagon'. With great help from the music papers of the day, Sounds and Melody Maker, he went on to establish this venue as the place for new upcoming bands and like minded fans of the heavy metal genre. Demo tapes started to arrive in their hundreds shortly after a two-page centre spread in Sounds, penned by journalist Geoff Barton.
French novelist André Malraux was a strong supporter of the Republican cause; he tried to organise a volunteer air force (Escadrile Espana) on the Republican side, but as a practical organiser and squadron leader he was somewhat idealistic and inefficient. The Regular Spanish Air force commander Andrés García La Calle was openly critical of Malraux's military efficiency but recognised his usefulness as a propagandist. His novel L'Espoir and the film version he produced and directed (Espoir: Sierra de Teruel) were a great help for the Republican cause in France. Even after covert support by France to the Republicans ended in December 1936, the possibility of French intervention against the Nationalists remained a serious possibility throughout the war.
Several organizations also rendered a great help for soliciting funds for the construction. These were the Catholic Women's League, Legion of Mary, Catholic Youth Organization, Apostolado ng Panalangin, Block Rosary Movement, Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes, Knights of Columbus, and Adoracion Nocturna Filipina. In gratitude to these organizations, the streets within the church vicinity were named after them. After more than ten years of slow and painstaking progress of the construction of the church, Servando Floro, Lydia de Dios, Magno, and Agas suggested to have dawn penitential procession every First Saturday of the month as an offering of the faithful for the immediate completion of the church which Fr. Izon positively approved.
Probably his greatest contribution to the study of New Testament Greek was the development of an exact methodology for the analysis of meaning, not only at the lexical level, but also at the level of the sentence and paragraph and even greater units of discourse. This has proved to be a great help to Bible translators all over the world. Through his academic career as a teacher, he exerted tremendous influence in the lives and careers of many students and other academics who worked with him in some or other capacity. Important in this regard is the fact that, in spite of the political isolation of South Africa at the time, students from the United States and Hong Kong studied for their doctorates under him.
For this purpose a critique of both > the aforementioned theories is essential. Both are painfully inclined to > reduce high-flown ideals, heroic attitudes, nobility of feeling, deep > convictions, to some banal reality, if applied to such things as these. On > no account should they be so applied...In the hand of a good doctor, of one > who really knows the human soul...both theories, when applied to the really > sick part of a soul, are wholesome caustics, of great help in dosages > measured to the individual case, but harmful and dangerous in the hand that > knows not how to measure and weigh. > The two theories of neurosis are not universal theories: They are caustic > remedies to be applied, as it were, locally.
The Aurënen "Edict of Separation" is reminiscent of the historical case of Japan's three centuries of self-isolation during the Tokugawa shogunate. With the renewal of major warfare with Plenimar, changing this situation was vital for Skala's survival—and Princess Klia managed to change this (despite considerable difficulties, and with the great help of Seregil and Alec). The clan of Gedre—far more friendly to Skala than Virésse—was able to open its port to Sklan ships, at least for the duration of the war, and Aurënfaie wanting to volunteer for service in the Skalan army were allowed to do so. That was a turning point in the war, where a Plenimaran victory seemed in the offing, and greatly facilitated the eventual victory of Skala.
For that reason such modules were called "linkules" (LINKable-modULES)."Speakeasy linkules - plug compatible software" ACM - Proceedings of the 1977 annual conference They are functions with a generalized interface, which can be written in FORTRAN or in C. The independence of each of the new modules from the others and from the main processor is of great help in improving the system, especially it was in the old days. This easy way of expanding the functionalities of the main processor was often exploited by the users to develop their own specialized packages. Besides the programs, functions and subroutines the user can write in the Speakeasy's own interpreted language, linkules add functionalities carried out with the typical performances of compiled programs.
That sketch served as the basis of his design for the obverse. Gasparro consulted with the late president's widow, Mamie Eisenhower, as to the designs of both sides of the coin; the former First Lady was presented with a galvano (a metallic model used in the coin design process) by Brooks and Gasparro on January 1, 1971. Gasparro wrote in 1991 that he had six weeks to complete the work beginning in mid-November 1970, that his extensive research into eagles over the years was a great help in creating the reverse, and that his sketches were adopted without change. The chief engraver was not given full freedom of design; he was instructed to have the layout of the obverse resemble that of the Washington quarter.
The great Cross and two hand-carved angels which came originally from Poland were gilded. A new Ahlborn electric organ was installed at the side of the sanctuary: it has an extra computer which reads and stores what the organist is playing, which means that it can play itself when the organist is not present, a great help when there are multiple Masses on one day. A programme to fill the windows with stained glass was undertaken by the artist Andrew Taylor of Devizes in a mediaeval style with the most recent addition of a central widow on the front of the Church with the image of the Divine Mercy. This is lit in the evening from inside the Church for the benefit of the local people.
1969-73: A.M. discovers a passion for Drawing and Painting and develops his skills in this area, through contacts with fellow students and established artists but mainly through his own efforts. 1973-74: He attends the local Art School (Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto) in the courses of Painting and Sculpture which were taught simultaneously in the first years of a student’s degree. 1975: Unsatisfied with the teaching methods at Art School, he travels to London where he takes up residence, and where he continues his research in the painting methods of the past and makes some contacts amongst practicing artists of the day. Two painters were of great help in this period: Daniel Samuels, and Harold Hitchcock.
In another session, Anurag handed over tulsi saplings to women and asked them to nurture the sapling for a month and then see the results. Chauhan started this project after reading an article written about deaths caused due to lack of menstruation hygiene. His cause received support from actress Twinkle Khanna. Chauhan runs awareness programs in many villages, slums, schools and colleges of Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. During the nationwide lockdown the efforts of Humans for Humanity has come as a great help to the women who have been taught how to make sanitary napkins at home as they don’t have to go out and buy them but they can make hygienic sanitary pads themselves at home.
The hotel was opened on 19 January 1935 and the Straits Times reported, > ".....the Eastern Hotel consists of twelve bedrooms with private verandahs > and bathrooms attached, one common or public lounge, a large dining room > with kitchen and servants' quarters, a garage and for exercise tennis and > badminton courts in front of the main building together with a lily and fish > pond." This hotel was a great help to the further development of Cameron Highlands for soon more people went there for a holiday. In 1935 following the success of the hotel Leong Sin Nam built another bungalow in Ringlet, Cameron Highlands. He was also active in financial institutions where he was the chairman of the Perak Trust and Investment Co. Ltd.
Sheldon took the opportunity of this Times interview to clearly restate the Guarantors' prerequisites: It would be necessary to make many changes in the organization. The strings, I think, could scarcely be improved, but some of the other parts would have to be reinforced. Then a certain number of our board would have to be placed on the Philharmonic board ... [As Strauss and Mottl suggested,] it would be best to plan the season of our orchestra to last thirty weeks, and that is another arrangement which must be made with the Philharmonic, as their present season lasts only sixteen ... I shall see Mr. Arnold immediately upon my return. It would be a great help to start with the Philharmonic as a nucleus.
But the National Coach Vittorio Pozzo included Combi in the Italian squad - he was also one of the Nazio-Juve members - and was asked by Pozzo to postpone his retirement until the end of the tournament as his experience might be a great help. During a training session a few weeks before the beginning of the tournament, a shot by Pietro Arcari broke one of Ceresoli's forearms. This forced him to miss the World Cup and Combi again found himself the top goalkeeper in Italy, with the responsibility of leading the Azzurri to their debut in football's premier competition. The first match was on 27 May 1934 when Italy played the first round of the World Cup in the Stadio Nazionale of the P.N.F. in Rome against the United States.
When the Blackwood bidder has a void, and partner shows one or more but not all missing aces, "asker" will not know whether partner's ace duplicates the void suit (where it would not be of great help) or covers side suit losers. For this reason cue bid to show aces explicitly, or Exclusion or Voidwood convention to ask for useful aces, is used with hands that contain a void. Often non-experts ask for aces when they really need other information from partner, acting as if the convention is designed to ascertain whether the partnership holds all of the four aces or five key-cards. In fact the fundamental purpose should usually be to distinguish between lacking one and lacking two, because lacking two aces makes slam a bad bet.
Routledge, pp. 310–2. 90 cm Projector Anti-Aircraft, displayed at Fort Nelson, Portsmouth From early July, the battery was regularly called upon to send detachments to provide 'artificial moonlight' for troops in forward areas. This was a new technique being developed to reflect light off the cloudbase to provide 'movement light' (also known as 'Monty's moonlight') in support of night operations. 344th and 356th Independent S/L Batteries pioneered this technique using their mobile 90 cm searchlights.Routledge, pp. 314, 317. It was first used operationally to assist the assembly of troops for Operation Greenline on the night of 14/15 July, when the drivers of 15th (Scottish) Division 'found the light a great help to them in finding their way up the pot-holed track through the blinding dust'.Martin, pp. 66–9.
When Jericho is attacked by New Bern with mortars, Robert finds Darcy and work together to defend Jericho, before the war with New Bern is stopped by the ASA. In Season 2, Darcy comes to realize how much Robert means to her, and once she realizes the stakes at hand, she becomes a great help to him by spying on Major Beck while doing security work at the Sheriff's office. After Robert is forced to claim he was undercover FBI for the USA, Beck, while agreeing to work with Robert to uncover the story behind the attacks, nonetheless insists that Darcy be out of the office. When Robert has to leave town to deliver the bomb to Texas, Darcy and Robert finally put the past behind them, knowing this is a dangerous mission.
However, Lord Germain's orders dispatched from London were not clear on this point, with the effect that Howe took no action to support Burgoyne, and Clinton moved from New York too late and in too little strength to be any great help to Burgoyne. Burgoyne's march on Albany June–October 1777 As a result of this miscommunication, Burgoyne ended up conducting the campaign single-handedly. He was not yet aware that he would not be gaining additional support, and was still reasonably confident of success. Having amassed an army of over 7,000 troops in Quebec, Burgoyne was also led to believe by reports that he could rely on the support of large numbers of Native Americans and American Loyalists who would rally to the flag once the British came south.
While Raistlin was away for his schooling, a widow by the name of Judith began to take care of Rosamun, the twin's and Kitiara's mother. Widow Judith was a believer in the snake god Belzor, who had a growing following; it appeared as if Judith was of great help for Rosamun, for their mother showed evidence of much improvement under the widow's care...nevertheless, Raistlin was not fond of the woman, and she held him in disdain for his interests in magic. His father, Gilon, was mortally injured in a terrible logging accident and was brought back to Solace just in time to say a few last words to his sons. Widow Judith comforted the distraught Rosamun, insisting that the god Belzor would perform a miraculous healing for her husband.
The dictionary was, however, of great help to later Old English scholars, as it passed into the hands of Robert Cotton, and became part of the Cotton library as manuscripts Titus A xv and Titus A xvi. Joscelyn's written work on Old English grammar also became part of the Cotton library, but was lost after Cotton loaned the manuscript to William Camden in 1612. Parker published in 1572 a work entitled De Antiquitate Britannicae Ecclesiae & Priuilegiis Ecclesiae Cantuariensis, cum Archiepiscopis eiusdem 70, which is the first privately printed work to appear in English. Although Parker claimed in a letter that he was the author, it is likely that at the very least Joscelyn did most of the research, and the manuscript of the work, which is now Vitellius E xiv, is largely in his handwriting.
In 1590 Hurtado returned to America, now as viceroy of Peru, a position he held until the middle of the following decade. It was a great help to the Spanish in Chile to have someone with his first-hand knowledge of that region in the position of viceroy. Hurtado had frequent disagreements with Turibius de Mongrovejo, Archbishop of Lima, whenever civil and ecclesiastical jurisdiction conflicted. The seminary school established by Mogrovejo was not established without a fight over whether to put the bishop's coat of arms on top of the entrance, or the royal coat of arms in the same place, as well as during the excommunication of Juan Ortiz de Zárate, mayor of Lima, over the forced arrest of a criminal who had taken refuge at a church.
Senior officials involved in the preparation of the report were: Jayant Sinha, Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS;), 1990 batch, (who on completion of his tenure in the 7th CPC was posted in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence); Ms Yashashri Shukla, Indian Post and Telegraph Accounts and Finance Service', Mudit Mittal, Indian Railway Accounts Service; Samir Kumar Sinha, IAS officer of Bihar cadre and Rajiv Mishra, 'Advisor' and 'economist'. D.K. Rai, Indian Defence Account Service (IDSA), 2000 batch, was responsible for processing armed forces pay and allowances, including reviewing the submissions from the armed forces headquarters. Rai, according to Mr Mathur was "great help" in "determining the pay structure for the defence forces", because of his "insight into the financial intricacies of the pay structure of the defense service".
The high clearance tractors (enjambeur) are a great help. The different steps consist of crushing the vine shoots after they have been taken and placed in the middle of the row; a hole being made in the auger, where the vines stocks are missing, in order to plant grafts in the spring; ploughing or scraping, done in order to aerate the soil and eliminate any weeds; chemical weeding to kill weeds; several treatments of the vines, done in order to protect against fungal diseases (mildew, powdery mildew, grey rot, etc.) and some insects (Eudemis and Cochylis); regular trimming consisting in snipping or cutting excess vine branches (shoots) using the trellising system; mechanical harvesting carried out with a harvesting machine or a grape picking head mounted on a high clearance tractor (enjambeur).
Petroushka, 1937 oil on canvas, 122.4 x 81.9 cm In Petroushka, Clark creates a seemingly innocent scene of street entertainers; it was painted as an outranged response to newspaper reports of the killing of five striking steelworkers by Chicago police in the summer of 1937. She chose to adapt the story of Petrushka (the Peter puppet and symbol of suffering humanity within Russian tradition) to a North American context. Clark spoke out about the role and responsibility of the artist; she declared: "Those who give their lives, their knowledge and their time to social struggle have the right to expect great help from the artist. And I cannot imagine a more inspiring role than that which the artist is asked to play for the defence and advancement of civilization".
The Golden Age of the Accordion, by Ronald Flynn, Edwin Davidson, and Edward Chavez, 1992. p.106. In the 1960s, Jerry Cigler and Jerry Brown joined Leon and Lee in a big band sound using three uniquely voiced accordions, two of which had larger reeds. The bass accordion played by Brown was comparable to a trombone section, and Cigler's tenor accordion was voiced like a reed section, Leon played the brass section and Lee sang the top trumpet part. Leon's folios, volumes 1 and 2 of Sash 'N' Jazz and Rockin' Blues, published by O. Pagani Music in New York City have been sought after by many musicians because of the written jazz improvisation and proper accents as played by Leon - truly a great help in seeing how jazz should be played.
In 1871, when Governor- General Kaufman called an assembly of specialists to investigate the accusations against the Jews made by Jacob Brafman (himself a baptized Jew) in his work Kniga Kahala. The Book on the Kahal, published at Vilna, 1869 Barit was appointed member of the assembly and fully convinced the Christian members of the evil design and the unfounded and false character of Brafman's statements. The president of the assembly, Spasski, was so pleased with Barit's able and truthful defense of the Jews, that he paid him a visit and presented him with his photograph. Barit was appointed by the government as one of the inspectors of the Vilna City Hospital, and was of great help there to Abraham Lebensohn in rebuilding it, when it was in a dilapidated condition.
Föppl suggested it was used as it enabled the cipher clerk to encrypt messages very quickly and could be easily enciphered by ordinary sailors, with a key that was changed every few weeks, that could be broken within a single day. During this period Föppl read the lengthy daily telegrams sent by Second Sea Lord George Egerton and managed to break the cipher, the Allied Fleet Code that was long considered unbreakable by the German Navy, and was considered thus to be a new source of intelligence which was of the greatest importance. From July 1915, daily reports compiled by Foppl and Lieutenant Martin Braune, the director of marine intelligence (German Naval Intelligence Service), were now sent to senior staff. Vizeadmiral Hugo von Pohl stated: :They have proved to be a great help for our submarine and Zeppelin missions.
Three key personnel acquisitions were made prior to the 2001–02 season, Laviolette's first. Alexei Yashin was acquired from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Bill Muckalt, defenseman Zdeno Chara and the Islanders' second overall pick in the 2001 draft. Next, Islanders prospects Tim Connolly and Taylor Pyatt were traded to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Michael Peca, who became the team's captain. By virtue of finishing with the worst record in the previous season, Detroit Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood was the next addition, taken as the first pick in the September 2001 waiver draft, adding a former Stanley Cup championship goaltender without giving up any players in exchange. The additions proved to be a great help, as the team opened the season with a 9–0–1–1 record, the best in franchise history.
While tending his father's sheep, Epimenides is said to have fallen asleep for fifty-seven years in a Cretan cave sacred to Zeus, after which he reportedly awoke with the gift of prophecy (Diogenes Laërtius i. 109–115). Plutarch writes that Epimenides purified Athens after the pollution brought by the Alcmeonidae, and that the seer's expertise in sacrifices and reform of funeral practices were of great help to Solon in his reform of the Athenian state. The only reward he would accept was a branch of the sacred olive, and a promise of perpetual friendship between Athens and Cnossus (Plutarch, Life of Solon, 12; Aristotle, Ath. Pol. 1). Athenaeus also mentions him, in connection with the self-sacrifice of the erastes and eromenos pair of Cratinus and Aristodemus, who were believed to have given their lives in order to purify Athens.
214 Even Queen Victoria herself was said to be amused when Mary Anne commented, in response to a remark about some lady's pale complexion, "I wish you could see my Dizzy in his bath!" Once, at a house party where Lord Hardinge, a great soldier of the day, was in the room next to the Disraelis, Mary Anne announced at breakfast that she had slept the night before between the greatest soldier (Hardinge) and the greatest orator (Disraeli) of their times: Lady Hardinge was definitely not amused. The Disraeli family tomb, Hughenden Disraeli had been unimpressed by Mary Lewis when he first met her, but he came to understand that she was shrewder than her outward manner had led him to believe. She was a great help to him in editing the books he wrote, and spent 30 years taking care of him.

Adam Cisowski, a precocious and "devilishly clever" high school pupil (the "satan" of the title) spends a summer holiday at a run-down country house, presided over by "The Professor" - an aristocratic, eccentric historian who is friendly and affable but completely improvident. Suddenly, treasure hunting is launched by the discovery that an officer of Napoleon's Grand Army, who was taken care of by the Professor's ancestors in the aftermath of the disastrous 1812 invasion of Russia, may have left to his benefactors a hidden treasure (which would be very great help for their impoverished present-day descendants). However, the subtle trail of hints left by the French officer defy all minds but that of the "devilish" Adam. Adam energetically takes up the challenge, seeking to help his hosts - and in particular, win the heart of Wanda, the Professor's beautiful niece.
In other places the tanks that did reach the German lines were a great help in destroying machine-gun nests. Harris wrote that the same results at a lower cost would have been achieved by resorting to the methodical approach favoured by Rawlinson, even if the tanks had been left out. The capture of the second position may have taken another 24–48 hours but could have left the infantry less depleted and tired, able to attack the third line sooner. The attacks ordered for 16 September were poorly executed and it rained from French attacks were far less successful and Fayolle wanted to relieve all the divisions in the front line and during the delay, British attacks were limited to local operations, the 6th Division capturing the Quadrilateral on 18 September and it took until 25 September to attack the German third position in the Battle of Morval.

In the eighth century it was a fortress of the Duchy of Spoleto. The Church of San Severino gave its name later to a new town that grew up around it. In the twelfth and thirteenth centuries it was at constant war with the neighbouring cities, especially with Camerino, and always supported the cause of the emperors, particularly of Emperor Frederick II. Louis the Bavarian named as vicar of San Severino Smeduccio della Scala, who, passing into the service of the Holy See, gave great help to the expedition of Cardinal Albornoz and became feudal lord of San Severino, a post held later by his son Onofrio. His nephew Antonio paid with his life for attempting to resist the arms of Pietro Colonna, the representative of Pope Martin V; his sons tried in vain to recapture the city (1434), which remained immediately subject to the Holy See.
It was a great help to the cause of Protestantism, especially as the council, which the diet contemplated and the Emperor himself repeatedly urged upon the Pope, was postponed for 20 years. In the meantime, the Protestant princes, notably Philip of Hesse at the Synod of Homberg (20 October 1526) and Elector John of Saxony interpreted the decree according to their own wishes and made the best use of the temporary privilege of independent action, regardless of its limitations or the views of the Emperor. Luther himself understood the Diet of Speyer as having given him a temporary reprieve on the charge of heresy. In a separate set of decisions, the Diet also decided that the Imperial Regiment and the Imperial Chamber Court (Reichskammergericht), next to the Emperor the highest ranking wielders of state power in the Holy Roman Empire, were to be moved to Speyer the following year.
In February 1545, George sent a letter to Henry VIII, to be forwarded by his English contact Ralph Eure, (who was killed at the battle of Ancrum Moor). George wrote that the war was losing Henry's support in Scotland and offered advice; > "the Scots are informed that you would make gentlemen no better than > shepherds, and by reason of the extreme war that uses killing women and > young children and Scots prisoners that come forth of England, gentlemen say > that Your Majesty will have a plane conquest of this realm, and that you > will kill men women and children. Watt returned to acting as herself on the soap opera The Edge of Night in the role of Florence Hatcher in 1967, but her longest TV role would be Ellie Harper Bergman on Search for Tomorrow from 1968 to 1981. In the meantime, Watt continued to provide voice-acting and script-writing duties for English redubs of Japanese anime, such as the 1970s feature-length Jack and the Beanstalk (as Jack), Taro the Dragon Boy (as the title character), and the Biblical-based TV series Superbook (as Christopher Peeper and various other characters) and The Flying House (as Justin Casey and various other characters). Later in life, Watt and her voice became of great help for radio listeners of In-Touch Networks who are visually impaired or completely blind. Watt's final acting role was the voice of Ma Bagge (Eustace's mother) on the series Courage the Cowardly Dog from 1999 to 2001.
Whatever the true course of events, Theodore's unexpected victory echoed throughout the Greek world, and greatly enhanced his standing; even the usually hostile Akropolites was forced to admit in his history that this feat was "of great help to the Romans". Conversely it dismayed Pope Honorius, who sent letters to the Latin princes of Greece as well as the Doge of Venice and Peter of Courtenay's son-in-law King Andrew II of Hungary (), urging them to engage themselves to secure the release of Peter and Colonna. He even wrote to Andrew and the French bishops to call for a crusade against Theodore, with which he also threatened Theodore in a letter. With the first contingents for the crusade assembling at Ancona in late 1217, and the Venetians eager to profit from the crusade to recover Dyrrhachium, the pressure bore fruit: in March 1218, Colonna was released, with Theodore offering his apologies and assurances of loyalty to the Pope.
In 2009, the Khaama Press news portal was designed by founder Khushnood Nabizada to publish stories about successful Afghan personalities and biographies of well- known figures including poets and politicians. After initially receiving positive feedback the site expanded, and in 2010, Khaama Press obtained an operating license from the Ministry of Information and Culture of Afghanistan as an official News Agency in the country. Why did [Khushnood Nabizada] decided to invest and establish [Khaama Press], he answers: Afghanistan country entered in to a new era with the assistance of international community in 2001 after the fall of ‘Taliban’, an extremist religious group that led the country for 5 years. Since then, ‘Afghanistan’ received a large amount of development funds from the International society, but most of these grants were not spent ‘transparent’ as a result of poor monitoring and control. Media and press agencies are always a great help and a powerful tool to keep eyes on the executive and implementing agencies, promoting ‘transparency’.I loved to be the ‘throat’ of my people and ‘share’ their pains, failures, success and developments by writing.
The post's journals, kept by its Chief Traders, document a series of inter-Indian wars and personalities for the period and also give much insight to the goings-on of the fur companies and their personnel throughout the entire Pacific Slope. Soon after the forts were founded, the main local village of the Secwepemc, then headed by a chief named Kwa'lila, was moved closer to the trading post to control access to its trade, and for prestige and security. With Kwalila's death, the local chieftaincy was passed to his nephew and foster-son Chief Nicola, who led an alliance of Syilx (Okanagan) and Nlaka'pamux people in the plateau country to the south around Stump, Nicola and Douglas Lakes. Relations between Nicola and the fur traders were often tense, but in the end Nicola was recognized as a great help to the influx of whites during the gold rush, though admonishing those who had been in parties waging violence and looting on the Okanagan Trail, which led from American territory to the Fraser goldfields.

Luis Alberto Nicolao (born June 28, 1944 in Buenos Aires) is a retired butterfly swimmer from Argentina,Profile at Sports Reference who in 1962 twice broke the world record in the men's 100 metres butterfly (long course). Trained and coached by the winningest Argentinean coach "Profe" Alberto Carranza, Nicolao and Carranza traveled to Rio with great help from a long time Carranza's friend "Pepe" Caraballo and made possible the trip, when Nicolao went too fast in the first 50 meters for the first attempt Carranza knew that the return 50 was not going to be as fast as expected so even though the record was broken at 58'4 (Fred Schmidt)Carranza knew that Nico could go even faster if the first 50's were more measured so he went back to Pepe Caraballo and others to assist and support their stay in Rio for a couple more days in order to try a second time this resulting in a much better race and the record lowered to 57' flat. The first attempt on April 24, 1962 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil salt water Guanabara pool, Nicolao clocked 58.4. Three days later he raised the standard to 57.0.
The Society members elected Sir James a Fellow, but were unable to come up with any solution, or improve on the assertion (eventually found to be incorrect) of Carlisle Spedding, the paper's author, that "this sort of Vapour, or damp Air, will not take Fire except by Flame; Sparks do not affect it, and for that Reason it is frequent to use Flint and Steel in Places affected with this sort of Damp, which will give a glimmering Light, that is a great Help to the Workmen in difficult Cases." Spedding's "steel mill" Spedding invented a "steel mill", in which a flint was held against a rapidly rotated steel disc, producing a stream of sparks giving some illumination. A second worker was needed to operate the mill, since the disc was rotated by a hand crank, and its operation was tiring. The use of the mill as a safer alternative to naked flame spread to other coalfields; prior to the introduction of the Davy lamp, up to a hundred steel mills were in daily use at one Tyneside colliery despite a fatal firedamp explosion at Wallsend colliery in 1785 ignited by a steel mill.
It was first used to assist the assembly of troops for Operation Greenline on the night of 14/15 July, when the drivers of 15th (Scottish) Division 'found the light a great help to them in finding their way up the pot-holed track through the blinding dust'.Martin, pp. 66–9. The searchlight positions were subjected to light shelling and mortar fire and to low-level air attack, suffering three wounded. However, during the fighting the following night, a jammed column of troops and vehicles was dangerously silhouetted in the movement light, while elsewhere a smoke cloud blotted it out.Martin, p. 71–5. The battery continued to support British and Canadian formations as the Battle for Caen progressed, providing movement light for II Canadian Corps on 7/8 August. B Troop finally caught up with the battery in 9 August, having landed with the AA reinforcements under 107 AA Bde. After the breakout from Normandy, 344 Bty provided illumination for the engineers engaged in bridging operations at the River Seine on the night of 29/30 August, a section of A Troop with XXX Corps at Vernon, and B Troop with XII Corps at Louviers.
