When they left their three-holed sphere (which contained the key to world peace and harmony) with the humans, Scooter used it for a game to knock over pins and called it "Goaling" in honor of the aliens. Bill actually commented Scooter finally invented something that is beneficial.

In August 2016 in the Female Futsal Copa Libertadores, the UAA team finished the tournament in seventh place. The team began the tournament successfully with goaling victory against Atlante from Bolivia, but ended up losing its last three fixtures against Barateiro, San Lorenzo and Río Negro. In June 2018, Club Universitarios de Deportes defeated the UAA 12–2 in the first round of the 2018 Liga Premium versión femenina, competing in the same league as Cerro Porteño and Sport Colonial. In July of the 2019 Liga Femenina de Honor Futsal, the UAA recorded a 3–1 triumph against Carlos Antonio Lopez to attain 18 points, behind league leaders Cerro Porteño and Sport Colonial.

There are two goal posts apart, one at Sturston Mill (where the Up'Ards attempt to score), the other at Clifton Mill (where the Down'Ards score). Although the mills have long since been demolished, part of their millstones still stand on the bank of the river at each location and indeed themselves once served as the scoring posts. In 1996 the scoring posts were replaced once again by new smaller millstones mounted onto purpose-built stone structures, which are still in use to this day and require the players to actually be in the river in order to 'goal' a ball, as this was seen as more challenging. The actual process of 'goaling' a ball requires a player to hit it against the millstone three successive times.
