However, the song became popular in the UK over a longer period as Rumours received more radio airplay and it re-entered the singles chart as a digital download on several occasions beginning in 2009, eventually accumulating eight additional weeks on the UK charts. The couple's music was very different at this stage of their careers, as Hill was exploring pop, techno and programmed drums, and 1960s retro sounds, while McGraw stuck to his more mainstream country approach. After McGraw's set, a video montage was presented of the couple's family, then the two returned to close the show with five duets; the show closer was a rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way".

Out of the six songs from Rumours that were featured in the episode, four were also featured on the eighth soundtrack album of the series, Glee: The Music, Volume 6: "Songbird", "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way", and "Dreams". The episode also sparked renewed interest in Fleetwood Mac and its most commercially successful album, and Rumours reentered the Billboard 200 chart at number twelve, the same week that Nicks' new solo album In Your Dreams debuted at number six. The two recordings sold a little less than 30,000 and 52,000 units, respectively. Music downloads accounted for ninety-one percent of the Rumours sales.
Although the release date for Rumours was set for February 1977, Fleetwood Mac wanted a single out by Christmas; "Go Your Own Way", which had just been mastered, was chosen to fulfill that role. Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ase Tobe Ekla Cholo Re ("If no one responds to your call, then go your own way alone"), commonly known as Ekla Cholo Re, is a Bengali patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore in 1905. Originally titled as "Eka", the song was first published in the September 1905 issue of Bhandar magazine. It was influenced by Harinaam Diye Jagat Matale Amar Ekla Nitai Re, a popular Bengali Kirtan song of Dhapkirtan or Manoharshahi gharana praising Nityananda, disciple of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Ekla Chalo Re was incorporated in the "Swadesh" (Homeland) section of Tagore’s lyrical anthology Gitabitan.
Through Comic Relief, he became involved with Body and Soul, a charity that helps people affected by HIV and AIDS. His next single, "Sunshine", reached number three and was taken from his second album Go Your Own Way, which was released in October 2003. However, the album was far less successful than his debut album. It peaked at number eleven in the UK before dropping to No. 32 the following week, and only spent four weeks on the album chart altogether. The album enjoyed slightly more success in a number of Asian countries however, and Gates won MTV Asia's award for Best International Male in 2003/04.
Fleetwood Mac fans swarmed the place and it was a huge media event in the city. On the December 6 and 7 concerts in Oakland and Inglewood, Lindsey Buckingham made a guest appearance to play "Landslide" with Stevie during the set, then made another appearance during the set closer "Go Your Own Way" and the first encore number, "Tear It Up", where he engaged in guitar duels with Rick Vito and Billy Burnette. The Japanese leg of the tour was documented through a TV special which was filmed primarily at the Tokyo concerts. During the tour, a video for the single "Skies the Limit" was filmed.
It was originally intended for inclusion on the international multi-million selling album Rumours, however, it was removed from the track listing at the last minute. Up until its inclusion on The Chain, the only other appearance of "Silver Springs" was on the B-side of "Go Your Own Way". Mick Fleetwood turned down Nicks' request to include "Silver Springs" on her retrospective compilation Timespace: The Best of Stevie Nicks as he had already selected the song for 25 Years – The Chain. The disagreement was ultimately resolved and the song itself was eventually released as a single five years later in 1997, taken from the album The Dance.

The two women of the band, McVie and Nicks, had decided that the tour would be their last (McVie's father had died during the tour), although both stated that they would still record with the band. In 1991, however, Nicks and Rick Vito left Fleetwood Mac altogether. In 1992, Fleetwood arranged a 4-disc box set, spanning highlights from the band's 25-year history, entitled 25 Years – The Chain (an edited 2-disc set was also available). A notable inclusion in the box set was "Silver Springs", a Nicks composition that was recorded during the Rumours sessions but was omitted from the album and used as the B-side of "Go Your Own Way".
David Heffernan. After the tour concluded, Nicks left the group over a dispute with Mick Fleetwood, who would not allow her to release "Silver Springs" on her 1991 album Timespace - The Best of Stevie Nicks because of his plans to release it on a forthcoming Fleetwood Mac box set. The song did appear in the 1992 box set 25 Years – The Chain.
On September 21, 2006, after a day of stunting with a loop of Fleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way, WXRG dropped classic rock for classic hits as "105.9 GO-FM" and adopting the WHGO call letters. In 2009, the station gradually leaned back to a true Classic Rock format and rebranded as "Classic Rock 105.9". On October 4, 2010, WHGO went off the air and was replaced by a Microsoft Sam voice reciting a countdown of the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until October 8, while interspersing a random movie quote or song lyric a few times each minute. This affected both the station's normal over-the-air frequency as well as its online stream.

"Dance the Night Away" was Van Halen's first top 20 U.S. hit, peaking at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the second song from their 1979 album Van Halen II. While the rest of the songs from this album had existed in various forms since their days doing demos and playing clubs, this song was possibly the only song written during the recording sessions for the album. The band members conceived the song during the recording sessions while they were standing in a circle humming to each other. It was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way". Eddie Van Halen purposely left a guitar solo out of the final version of the song, replacing it instead with a riff of tap harmonics.
Among Nicks's contributions to Rumours was "Dreams", which became the band's only Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit single. Nicks had also written and recorded the song "Silver Springs", but it was not included on the album because the early versions of the song ran too long, and the band didn't want too many slow songs on the album. Studio engineer and co-producer Ken Caillat said that Nicks was very unhappy to find that the band had decided against her song "Silver Springs", which he said was beautifully crafted, and carried some of the band's best guitar work. "Silver Springs", written about her tumultuous relationship with Buckingham, was released as a B-side of the "Go Your Own Way" single—Buckingham's equally critical song about Nicks.

Although it was not written by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks primarily, there are those that believe that this song ties into their tumultuous romance. The couple's eventual breakup after years of drama came to characterize Fleetwood Mac's legacy, and they were having difficulties in their relationship as early as 1975 when they recorded "Blue Letter". It is possible that this vaguely antagonistic track foreshadows more explicit breakup songs such as the Rumours hit, “Go Your Own Way”. However, the band’s comparative lack of public dialogue on the track combined with its more figurative lyrics make it impossible to discern any one true meaning. The song also inspired the name of a set of Fleetwood Mac related archives, called "The Blue Letter Archives", self-described as the site for “over 750 articles published about the band, reviews of their albums, and information regarding their solo careers”.
