After VE Day, Eileen Younghusband, a WAAF officer and fluent French-speaker, acted as a guide to RAF personnel visiting the camp. She had been in Germany prior to the start of the war, and had encountered fleeing Jews. During the German bombing of Britain, she had been a radar filter officer giving warning of air raids.

At about 09:15 local time (07:15 UTC) on 4 January 2018, a passenger train, operated by Shosholoza Meyl, carrying 429 passengers, was travelling from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg when it collided with a truck on the Geneva Station level crossing, around south-west of Johannesburg. Witnesses stated that the truck failed to stop at the level crossing, despite the train driver giving warning by blowing the horn. The truck, along with its two trailers, was dragged for around , and a car being transported on the train was also crushed by the derailed train. The locomotive hauling the train was Class C30EMP diesel-electric locomotive № 3018, owned by Sheltam.

In spring 1705 the French armies under the command of duc de La Feuillade laid siege to the imposing bastions and towers of the town of Nice.

The squadron replaced its elderly DH.9As with new Fairey IIIF light bombers from January 1928. It flew operations against Zaidi in February 1928 and against the Subaihi tribe, who were refusing to pay taxes and revolting, from January to March 1929. Operations against the Subaihi involved destroying crops with incendiary bombs and bombing villages after giving warning so they could be evacuated. This pressure eventually forced the Subaihi to sue for peace, with the rebel chiefs paying fines. More peaceful operation carried out by the squadron included survey flights, casualty evacuation and carrying mail, while the squadron carried out a long-distance return trip from Aden to Cairo and back in 1932.

For the four month anniversary of Chow Tsz-lok's death, some protesters launched mourning activities in the Kwun Tong Promenade and the parking lot at Sheung Tak Estate in Tseung Kwan O. Before the event at Sheung Tak Estate began, a large number of riot police officers were patrolling the parking lot and searched private cars in the vicinity. At about 7:30 in the evening, more than 100 protesters went to the altar at a Christian cross mounted outside the car park to mourn, playing poetry and lighting candles. At 8:09, the time when Chow Tsz-lok passed away, people at the scene observed a minute of silence. At 8:20, police raised the blue warning flag, thereby giving warning that the assembly was unauthorised, and asked the protesters and journalists to leave.
