When Stanfield contrives to have Omar framed for murder, Butchie is Omar's first phone call after Omar is arrested. Omar escapes the charge and steals an entire shipment of drugs from the New Day Co-Op, getting revenge on both Stanfield and Joe. Butchie suggests that Omar sell the shipment back to Joe, and Omar leaves Baltimore to retire on the profits.

Michael declines, but Pete administers a vicious beating to the intruder, leaving Michael deeply suspicious of Pete's mental stability.

It is revealed the Doctor's travels through time have created a temporal rift "body" inside the dead husk of the future TARDIS. The Great Intelligence claims that it plans on getting revenge on the Doctor for foiling its schemes by scattering itself along the Doctor's timeline. Through scattering itself, the Great Intelligence intends to overturn all of the Doctor's various victories and destroy him, even though this would destroy the Great Intelligence itself. After it has entered the rift, however, the Doctor's companion Clara Oswald follows him, likewise scattering herself along the timeline, saving the Doctor, who in turn enters his own timeline to rescue Clara.

Claiming to have come from a wealthy and loving home, Australian-born Gregory Terraerton was at some point turned into a cyborg dubbed "Slayback" by the Weapon X Program. Slayback afterward became a mercenary and worked alongside fellow Weapon X members Deadpool, Garrison Kane, and Sluggo, as well as the mutant shapeshifter Copycat. Over time, Deadpool grew disgusted by Slayback's sociopathy and sadism and attempted to kill him by blowing him up, unaware that Slayback had regenerative abilities that, over a period of ten years, allowed him to recover from Deadpool's attack. Obsessed with getting revenge on Deadpool, Slayback steals files pertaining to him from Department K and attempts to force Kane into revealing Deadpool's whereabouts.

However, the villainous Simon Hurt, head of the Black Glove cabal, bent on getting revenge on Batman admits that the stories and supposed evidence are clever forgeries designed to break Batman.

Unlike the other characters influenced by Jason, Big Red retains some level of his humanity, showing hesitation and unease about his actions several times. Eric Morse, the author of Friday the 13th: Jason's Curse, has stated that Big Red "came about because I wanted to explore the world of the abused child getting revenge on those who hurt him". He also views Big Red as the opposite of Jason; whereas Jason grew up with loving parents, Big Red was raised by abusive and apathetic ones.

The kids admire Buck because of his military ways and support, but Charlie disapproves as he recounts that he doesn't want the kids to become like Buck because Charlie believes that Buck only cares about toughness and that Charlie was a disappointment to him. Charlie starts to regret his decision to call Buck when his son runs off to the woods after some campers tease him about his father's over-protectiveness because his grandpa Buck told him that he became 'tough' when he ran off to the woods.

Kott becomes interested in Manfred Steiner, an autistic boy at Camp B-G in the hopes that the boy can predict the future-- a skill Kott would find useful to his business ventures. Since Camp B-G is scheduled for closure, Kott offers to take Manfred off Glaub's hands. Manfred in turn is afraid of a future only he can see, in which Mars is derelict and the AM-WEB is a dumping ground for forgotten people like him, where he will eventually be confined as a decrepit old man to a bed on life-support. Kott leases Bohlen's contract from his current employers and hires him to build a video device that can help Manfred perceive time at a regular pace (Kott is also ultimately intent on getting revenge on Bohlen).

In May 2003, Aguayo Jr. moved to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He was initially brought in as a técnico to team with Negro Casas against Los Guerreros del Infierno, but did not receive the expected positive reactions from the crowd, and CMLL decided to turn him heel by having him win a tournament for a shot at Atlantis' Michinoku Pro Wrestling Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Championship. He won the tournament over established popular heels like Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Bucanero, so by the time he met the babyface Atlantis for the title, he was seen as a heel by the fans. The title challenge was unsuccessful, but Aguayo was quickly put into a program with Los Capos with the story being he was getting revenge on Universo 2000 for ending his father's career.

Andy reluctantly agrees, and becomes impressed when Jake and Danny start to work under his compliance, but this quickly grows too much for Danny - up to the point where Danny unexpectedly lashes out at Andy near a bus stop. Jake arrives in time to restrain Danny from their employer, but ends up punching Andy after he proceeds to insult Danny over his behaviour. This provokes Andy into getting revenge on Jake and Danny by arranging for their grandmother, Nana (Hilda Braid), to be mugged in their house and for his goons to steal her beloved ring. This escalates the conflict between Alfie's cousins and Andy himself, until Johnny learns about the situation and intervenes — authorizing Jake and Danny to resume their job while Andy is forced to return Nana's ring to Alfie.

Once back home, Eddie falls asleep while listening to the record and has a strange dream about the fire that killed Sammi Curr. When he wakes up he finds that the record is skipping and after listening to it for a few seconds he comes to realize that something is not quite right about the lyrics that the record is stuck on. Having previous experience with hidden lyrics, Eddie plays the record backwards, but receives more than he imagined: Sammi Curr speaking to him from beyond the grave. Sammi instructs Eddie on how to go about getting revenge on a group of bullies who make his school life a torment, since Sammi himself was bullied constantly in high school and he wants to now take the revenge on Eddie's bullies that he never got to take on his own.

Thinking the cats want to revive the giant themselves, he discovers that the gang is unaware of the crystals' purpose, and were only gathering them on behalf of their financer and weapon supplier Fool, who tricked them with the promise of getting revenge on the dog people for years of prejudice.

With the Wildcats trailing 31–24 and driving with the ball inside of the Bears' 20 yard-line, Trevor Siemian was intercepted by linebacker Jalen Jefferson, sealing the win for the Golden Bears, and getting revenge on the Wildcats, who beat them 44–30 in Berkley in the first game of the 2013 season.

Afterwards, Phil summons his lawyer Marcus Christie (Stephen Churchett) and the two advice Jamie to testify against Dan to ensure he gets sent down. Jamie complies and Phil later entraps Steve into conspiring with him against Dan to rid themselves of their common enemy. However, their plan fails when Dan is found not guilty and he gets revenge on Phil by kidnapping Mel for a £200,000 ransom – with Dan also getting revenge on Steve for conspiring with Phil against him and using Mel as leverage to exact his vengeance. Following the events of Phil's shooting and Dan's escape from the square, Jamie learns that Lisa is pregnant with Phil's baby Louise and reluctantly agrees to keep this secret after seeing how Phil has been mistreating Lisa in the past – with Jamie himself starting to grow as uncomfortable with Phil's continual behaviour as many people around him have already been feeling.

Steve's suspicions are eventually confirmed when Phil tells Mel to admit that she enjoyed sleeping with him, and she reluctantly responds to this as Steve listens through. On the day of their wedding, Steve becomes aggravated when Phil turns up uninvited and proceeds to woo Steve's mother Barbara (Sheila Hancock) – who herself has also turned up against Steve's expectations – by striking up a conversation with her. The situation escalates at the E20 reception, where Steve confronts Phil for getting his mother involved and Phil tauntingly mocks him in front of her and the remaining guests. Later on that night, local taxi driver Charlie Slater (Derek Martin) prepares to drive the newly wedded couple to their honeymoon. As they begin to leave, Steve claims that he needs to check on Billy at the E20 and momentarily leaves Mel – though it becomes clear that Steve appears intent on getting revenge on Phil for the trouble he has caused him.

Grantham quit the series in 1988, and in February 1989, Den was apparently killed off after getting shot, due to his involvement with The Firm – a criminal organization who ended up trying to have him murdered in light of the character's imprisonment for having one of its members help him get revenge against Willmott-Brown.

The Lakers entered the season as runner-ups of the 1984 NBA Finals, where they lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Boston Celtics in seven games, increasing their losing streak to the Celtics in the NBA Finals to 8 consecutive losses. In the playoffs, the Lakers swept in the Phoenix Suns in three games in the First Round, then defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in five games in the Semifinals, before defeating the Denver Nuggets in five games in the Conference Finals to advance to the NBA Finals for the fifth time in the 1980s, facing off against the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics in a rematch of last season's NBA Finals. This time, however, the Lakers were able to return to their championship ways and win their ninth NBA championship, avenging their NBA Finals loss and getting revenge on the Celtics, defeating them in six games, and marking the first time the Lakers had defeated the Celtics in the NBA Finals.
