Lasting only 6 episodes, it was about the everyday lives of a group of patients, doctors, nurses and other staff at a tuberculosis hospital in 1947. The show, aired weekly between 2 November and 7 December 1997, was based on the meeting of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, the writers of Steptoe and Son, in a Tuberculosis sanatorium in 1947. Although given a prominent early Sunday evening slot, the series failed to capture the public's imagination and only ran for one series.

Ray Galton OBE (17 July 1930 – 5 October 2018), and Alan Simpson OBE (27 November 1929 – 8 February 2017), were an English comedy scriptwriting partnership. They met in 1948 whilst recuperating from tuberculosis at the Milford Sanatorium, near Godalming in Surrey. (The sitcom Get Well Soon—co- written by Galton with John Antrobus—concerns their shared experiences at the facility.) They are best known for their work with comedian Tony Hancock on radio and television between 1954 and 1961, and their long-running television situation comedy, Steptoe and Son, eight series of which were aired between 1962 and 1974.
Also in 1997, Ray Galton's Get Well Soon, based on his and Simpson's early sanatorium experiences, was broadcast by the BBC. In October 2005, Galton and John Antrobus premiered their play Steptoe and Son in Murder at Oil Drum Lane at the Theatre Royal, York. The play is set in the present day and relates the events that lead to Harold killing his father, and their eventual meeting thirty years later (Albert appearing as a ghost). A series of old plays updated for modern times, entitled Galton and Simpson's Half Hour, was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in 2009.

Get Well Soon was a short-lived 1997 BBC television comedy series starring Matthew Cottle and Eddie Marsan. Lasting only 6 episodes, it was about the everyday lives of a group of patients, doctors, nurses and other staff at a tuberculosis hospital in 1947. The show, aired weekly between 2 November and 7 December 1997, was based on the meeting of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, the writers of Steptoe and Son, in a Tuberculosis sanatorium in 1947. Although given a prominent early Sunday evening slot, the series failed to capture the public's imagination and only ran for one series.
Rimmer handed himself into a police station in Manchester and was arrested on 7 December. In December 2007, Rimmer, from Gorton, Manchester, was jailed for five-and-a-half years for stabbing Wallwork after admitting wounding with intent at Manchester Crown Court. Rimmer's friend, Charles Ebbrell, a 27-year-old from Denton, Greater Manchester, was given a suspended jail sentence after he admitted punching Wallwork during the attack. The Dumping Ground Series 2 – When Faith was admitted to hospital, Mo decided to make her a "get well soon" card, but ended up with glitter over his face in the process. When Faith later returned from hospital, Mo greeted her saying that they had made her a surprise. Faith was then heard trashing her room (annoyed about being in a wheelchair), leading to Mo commenting that she would not like his invention (a watering can attached to a pole). Later, Mo decided to use one of Bailey's football boots to make shoe prints with, only for it to be taken by Tyler and Rick, who were trying to sell Bailey's boots.

In 2010, Antrobus and Ray Galton's production of Not Tonight Caligula, originally written for Frankie Howerd, was recorded as a live radio play at The Leicester Square Theatre by The Wireless Theatre Company directed by Antrobus and starring Clive Greenwood in Howerd's role. Although largely retired, Antrobus still writes and is involved in fringe productions and talent scouting.

Ranj has become a prominent contributor to factual programming and documentaries, appearing on This Morning as a resident doctor and on 20 July 2018, he was a guest presenter on the show, alongside Vanessa Feltz.. He has also contributed to a range of other programmes such as Inside Out, 5 News and Good Morning Britain.
Vincent watches from afar as she is taken to hospital, and Kim later explains to Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) that she ran away from Vincent after walking in on him covered in blood and, thus, chose not to tell him she was pregnant. She becomes wary when he tries to contact her again after witnessing her with their daughter, Pearl, and is scared when she finds someone has given Pearl a toy, instantly believing it was Vincent (though it is later revealed to be Denise). Kim tells Denise that Vincent never existed and Pearl was the result of a one-night stand, but later admits the truth and explains her experience when she went to tell him she was pregnant. The following month, Vincent sends Ronnie a "get well soon" card after hearing she has awoken from her coma, and later visits her.

In late 2013 the HCA sold the building to Bradford City Council for a nominal £1 on condition that the latter invest £1.32 million in its maintenance and repair.
