It is revealed in volume 38 that the Voodoo King is the alter- ego of Sarai Kagenuma.

Wing Chun master Ip Man and his family move to Hong Kong in the mid-1940s after their escape from Japanese- occupied Foshan. There, Ip desires to open a school to propagate his art, as well as make a living during the difficult times, but he struggles to attract students due to his lack of reputation in the city. One day, a young man named Wong Shun Leung appears and promptly challenges Ip to a fight, but is easily defeated. A humiliated Wong leaves, only to return later with some friends to gang up on him; Ip easily beats them as well.

The confrontation develops into a vicious brawl, with Terry getting the upper hand until Friendly's thugs gang up on Terry and nearly beat him to death. The dockworkers, who witness the confrontation, show their support for Terry by refusing to work, unless Terry is working, too, and pushing Friendly into the river. Encouraged by Father Barry and Edie, the badly injured Terry forces himself to his feet and enters the dock, followed by the other workers. A soaking wet and face-scarred Friendly, now left with nothing, swears revenge on them all, but his threats fall on deaf ears as they enter the garage, and the door closes behind them.

Masa's is the second rogue metafighter to appear under Kam's employ. He controls an armada of over 10 Skeleton-type Skelbots at the same time and uses them to gang up on his opponents. He was first sent out to show the inferiority of metabots to kilobots by defeating as many as he could with his armada, but met his defeat at the hands of Roks and the Mystery Meta- fighter. Next time he appeared was when he and his skelbots ganged up on metabee when Ikki wasn't around but were defeated by Ginkai and Arcdash, despite cheating by dumping paint on Arcdash so he couldn't see.

In 1944, Tae kicks Shinsuke out when he and his friends gang up on a Korean boy named Kumana so he later visits Kumana alone and challenges him to a duel that ends in a draw. Kumana's father Kanayama Shuretsu, whose real name is Kim Chu-ryol, tells Shinsuke and Tae that Juzo saved him in the mine collapse and gives them a large portion of meat as a gift. Tae develops feelings for Mr. Kanayama, who is drafted into the war. When the war ends, the miners tie up a mine manager, who confesses that soldiers shot miners trying to escape from the collapse years earlier.

The music video was directed by Smith N Borin and featured the band in various spoofs of nu metal bands' videos, such as Staind's "It's Been Awhile" and Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff", both of which were directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. In one scene, Jaret as Staind frontman Aaron Lewis is seen singing with a constipated look on his face and is revealed to be on an actual toilet. Another band member urinates on a wall. Fellow student Julie Johnson is finishing some work when she spots Allan, it is not long before the three of them gang up on Julie. Banshee was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Werner Roth, and first appeared in X-Men #28 (January 1967). Thomas originally conceived of the character as a woman, but editor Stan Lee thought that it wouldn't look good for an entire team to gang up on a female villain. When the character first appeared, he acted as an adversary to the X-Men under coercion, but soon befriended the team and eventually appeared as a member of the X-Men in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975). The character was forced to leave the team when his superpowers were damaged in battle in Uncanny X-Men #119 (March 1979), and remained an occasional supporting character for the team for several years.

Most events require a slat of wood with a flag attached to be placed in the front column of the driver door, a judge breaks this to disqualify a driver, or a driver can break it in order to resign. The first and second place finishers of a heat move on to the next heat, in competitions with multiple heats. Depending on the sanctioning body, it may be illegal for multiple cars to collaborate and gang up on opposing cars in a sandwich effort, and could result in disqualification for both parties that do so; although the enforcement of this rule varies widely. The time it takes for one of these events varies, depending on if the derby being run has multiple heats and feature, or just a single heat, as well as the types of vehicles being demolished (compact car derbies tend to be finished much more quickly than school bus derbies, for example).

Players can use this strategy to "gang up" on one player; the player after them will float, forcing the player to try to keep them afloat while all other players get a number of extra turns to try to lay down their Phase or go out. Of course, the player preceding the floater is not actually forced to keep them afloat and may be able to go out themselves, lay down their Phase (thus drastically reducing their score for the hand), or may simply concede the hand by allowing the floater to draw (the card drawn is likely to be an unplayable, thus discardable, card). If a player is floating, and there is no possible card that could be discarded or drawn to prevent that player from being able to discard, they are known as "floating dead"; it is extremely likely the floating player will be forced to end the hand on their next turn.
