The three sister ships sailed to New York City in 1976 to participate in the Tall Ships gathering of sail for the Bicentennial celebration. Pathfinder last major re-fit was in 1994 when she was out of service for a year whilst the interior, exterior, all systems, machinery and rig of the vessel was completely re-furbished. The ship was retired from Toronto Brigantine's fleet and sold to a private buyer in 2018.

It has 39 floors, and is the second tallest structure in the city after the British Telecom Tower. The front façade of the building is floor-to-ceiling glass decorated in "tiger stripes" which are used to enhance the vertical impact. As the apartments were being furbished, an aqua coloured camouflage was also added to these windows with some of the tiger stripes being removed. The jetty was reconstructed prior to World War II to facilitate the berthing of naval vessels, and is the third- longest wooden jetty still standing in Australia. It reverted to commercial uses after the war, but a fire on the pier in June 2003 resulted in WorkSafe Victoria issuing a closure notice. The jetty has since been re-furbished in 2019/2020 and now open for tourism, along with a plan for Victoria's first underwater observatory.

Visitors included celebrities such as Sacha Guitry, Paul Morand, Romain Rolland, Edgar Wallace, prince Ibn Saud, future king of Saudi Arabia, John D. Rockefeller and the maharajah of Baroda. The latter stayed frequently in Caux, using most of the fourth floor. His personal room at the south-west angle of the building enjoyed an outstanding view and was furbished in lemon-tree wood furniture, especially designed for the maharajah.

The other pillar, Phoenix New Times, continued to grow throughout the 1980s. Recognizing the need for more office space, the company purchased a historical building near downtown Phoenix, the Booker T. Washington Elementary School. Built in 1926, the school had been the center of the African-American community in Phoenix during decades of segregation, first de jure (Arizona was a Jim Crow state) and then after 1954, de facto. NTI re-furbished the historic structure and today it remains the headquarters of the Phoenix New Times.

During World War II, the Soviet Union captured millions of Mauser Karabiner 98k rifles and re-furbished them in various arms factories in the late 1940s and early 1950s. These rifles, referred to by collectors as RC ("Russian Capture") Mausers, can be identified by an "X" stamp on the left side of the receiver.

It was formed with military assistance from Vietnam, which furbished the fledgling armed forces with equipment and training, with the initial task of countering the sustained guerrilla campaign being waged by the Coalition Government of Democratic Kampuchea.

An incomplete junction at what would have been the south-west corner of the ring, known locally as the "ski jump". The infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" is now furbished with an office block. Lednice contains a palace and the second largest castle park in the country, which covers . The palace of Lednice began its life as a Renaissance villa; in the 17th century it became a summer residence of the ruling Princes of Liechtenstein. FAPLA BMP-1 and BM-21 rocket artillery captured by UNITA. The BMP-1 was extensively deployed by the People's Armed Forces of Liberation of Angola (FAPLA) and its Cuban allies during the Angolan Civil War and South African Border War. The first Cuban mechanized and motorized infantry forces to be deployed to Angola were sent first to the People's Republic of the Congo in November 1975, where they were equipped with BMP-1s and other heavy weapons furbished by the Soviet government for the FAPLA war effort. In 2000, Hans van der Pluijm was announced as the newly appointed Technical Director at Ashanti Gold SC, a position he held until 2002, and in February 2001, a modern Football Academy was commissioned at the Ofori Stadium, Obuasi at a cost of US$360,000. The Ofori Stadium is the newly furbished training facility and second stadium of the Ghanaian club not far from their primary Len Clay Stadium. While several Ghanaian players had trial periods in Amsterdam, none were actually signed, and in February 2003, AFC Ajax sold their shares in the club back to Ashanti Goldfields, while still working together on the technical aspects of the club for a while, before all collaborative efforts between the two parties desisted.

In 2003 'Classic Hits Forest Gold' launched at Ongar War memorial Community Hospital, in Essex, via a radio link and in 2005 Radio Forest was also able to provide 'Classic Hits Forest Gold' to Plane, Poplar and Orchard wards at St. Margaret's Hospital. A complete refurbishment of the audio distribution system at St. Margaret's Hospital was completed in 2006, replacing the original system first installed during the 1950s. In 2007 a brand new hospital on the St. Margaret's site was completed and Radio Forest installed speakers and bedside audio facilities to the four new ward areas, allowing a choice of listening including 'Radio Forest FM' and 'Classic Hits Forest Gold'. A new on-air studio was also completed and the original studio dating from 1999 was re-furbished, allowing for more live programmes on both radio services.

Students working in the library The Pontifical Library of the Institute is without a doubt the greatest gem of the Orientale. It is one of the best equipped libraries regarding the Christian East in the world. Some books which were discarded during the early years of the Soviet Union were bought for the Orientale Library, such that it alone has the entire Pravda collection, for example. The library space was considerably enlarged by John Paul II after his visit to the Orientale in 1987. The “aula magna”, a conference hall which hosts part of the library and was re-furbished for the centenary celebrations in 2017, provides a “safe space” for international discussions on problematic yet delicate themes. Syria, autocephaly, genocide, nonviolence, are some of the themes to which imams, diplomats, Patirarchs, Cardinals, and “people on the ground” have participated.

Jacaranda Records operates two live music venues and vinyl record stores in Liverpool, and was shortlisted for Music Week's Independent Retailer of The Year award in 2020. The Jacaranda (21-23 Slater Street, Liverpool L1 4BW) Originally opened by Allan Williams in 1958, The Jacaranda provided both rehearsal space and a stage for John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison & Stuart Sutcliffe to perform for the first time as The Silver Beetles. Re-furbished in 2014, the 60-year-old music hub still contains murals painted by Sutcliffe & Lennon and continues to operate as a bar, record shop and live music venue. Jacaranda Phase One (40 Seel Street, Liverpool L1 4BE) Opened to create a larger, 300-capacity pop-up live music venue in May 2018, Phase One also contains a cafe bar and vinyl records store with private listening booths.

First Class area in 3rd Generation rolling stock built by Kinki Sharyo of Japan, on KCR East Rail East Rail line is the only railway in Hong Kong to offer first class commuter service. One of the 12 cars of each train is furbished as a first class carriage (Northbound Car No.4 and Southbound Car No. 9). These compartments have softer and wider seat arrangements; however, standing in the first class car is common during rush hour. Riding on this carriage costs twice that of a standard-class journey and passengers are required to buy the first class ticket (at the vending machine on East Rail line stations or ticket counters at the other stations) or revalidate their Octopus cards on the first class reader (located at the station platforms and beside the gangway door of the First class compartment itself) before entering the first-class car.

Comparison of the rear hulls and cooling systems of an Eland Mk6 and a Panhard AML Sandock VAs initially fared rather poorly; all 56 models furbished in 1966 were rejected by the South African Army. An extensive rebuild programme followed - the Panhards were returned to the manufacturer, completely disassembled, restructured, and trialled again. These new vehicles claimed a local content of forty per cent but remained heavily bolstered by components imported from France in 1961. Upon undergoing several upgrades to the steering (Mk2) and brakes (Mk3), each vehicle was also equipped with a custom fuel system; the electric clutches were concurrently replaced by more conventional pressure plate clutches (Mk4). While South Africa's AMLs remained externally similar to their French counterparts, up to two-thirds of their parts were of local origin by 1967, the main part of that balance being a new water cooled inline-4 cylinder petrol engine installed in the Mk5.
