A lyric video, which "channels the familiar opening credits of the classic show Saved By The Bell" as noted by Carl Williot of Idolator, was released on October 18, 2012. The music video premiered on October 26, 2012, at the Fun Size film premiere, and was released online on October 28, 2012. Directed by Justin Francis, the video starts with Jepsen and her fellow friends driving a Fiat 500. After they come out of the car, they follow to a '80s inspired warehouse, where Jepsen starts flirting with a guy (actor Kurt Collins).

Fun Size Horror is a collective of filmmakers, led by Zeke Pinheiro, Mali Elfman, and Michael May. The collective's purpose is to create short films that will "explore horror from every angle." Pinheiro first came up with the idea after realizing that he knew several filmmakers that wanted to "create their own thing and all love horror, but were never given a platform". The collective's initial goal was to create thirty-one horror films by Halloween 2015, but has since expanded to include the creation of additional short horror films.

According to Lister in "Justice" (1991), before the nuclear accident that killed the crew of Red Dwarf, Rimmer was in charge of "Z Shift", and it occupied his every waking moment. Lister said that Z Shift's most vital responsibility was making sure the vending machines didn't run out of fun size Crunchie bars. In "Dimension Jump" (1991), an alternate Arnold Rimmer, whose friends call him "Ace", is shown as a successful and heroic test pilot in the Space Corps and commander who crosses dimensions to meet another Rimmer—the hologrammatic Rimmer living on Red Dwarf. Ace's interdimensional ship collides with the Starbug shuttle, causing it to crash land on an ocean planet.

Slash-in-the- Box was first shown at the KC Creepfest on October 28, 2011, and was a selection at several film festivals such as the 2012 AMC Theatres Kansas City Film Fest, Killer Film Fest and the Chicago Indie Horror Film Festival. In 2013, it was one of three short horror films featured in the 2013 horror anthology The Penny Dreadful Picture Show, along with The Slaughter House and Morning After. Two years later, in April 2015, Slash-in-the-Box was one of several short films in a competition by the Chiller Channel, as one of their "Chiller Killer Shorts". On October 21 that year, the short was screened on the Fun Size Horror website.

In 1982 the Dandy comic libraries were released, which later became known as the Fun Size Dandy. These were small-format comics usually featuring one or two long stories starring characters from The Dandy and occasionally other DC Thomson comics. In September 1985, the ailing Nutty was merged with The Dandy, bringing with it the Bananaman strip, currently the third-longest-running strip still in the comic. Just over a year later, the short-lived Hoot was also merged with The Dandy, most notably incorporating the character Cuddles into the pre-existing comic strip Dimples to form Cuddles and Dimples, another of The Dandy's longest running comic strips. After issue 3282 (dated 16 October 2004) The Dandy underwent a radical format overhaul.

More recently, the teenage comedy Fun Size (2012) takes place in and around Cleveland on Halloween night, and the film Draft Day (2014) followed Kevin Costner as general manager for the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland has often doubled for other locations in the film. The wedding and reception scenes in The Deer Hunter (1978), while set in the small Pittsburgh suburb of Clairton, were shot in the Cleveland neighborhood of Tremont; U.S. Steel also permitted the production to film in one of its Cleveland mills. Francis Ford Coppola produced The Escape Artist (1982), much of which was shot in Downtown Cleveland near City Hall and the Cuyahoga County Courthouse, as well as the Flats. A Christmas Story (1983) was set in Indiana, but drew many of its external shots—including the Parker family home—from Cleveland.

The Richmond punk scene grew, including: Inquisition, Fun Size, Knucklehed, Uphill Down, Four Walls Falling, The Social Dropouts, Ann Beretta, Sixer, River City High, BraceWar, Smoke or Fire (originally from Boston), Strike Anywhere,and many underground bands. Richmond punk is often mistakenly considered to be an offshoot of the D.C. scene, however Richmond punk bands have developed a unique sound, often influenced by country, folk, and southern rock (particularly prevalent in Avail, Sixer, and Ann Beretta, and to a lesser degree in Strike Anywhere). This is most likely due to the fact that Richmond, the capital of the Confederacy during most of the Civil War, is arguably the oldest and most lively punk scene in the South. Richmond punk has a close relationship with punk from Gainesville, Florida, particularly between Avail and the now-disbanded Hot Water Music.

Milo Greene was released on July 17, 2012 and peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums and number 115 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. They appeared on multiple late night television shows including Late Night With David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and two appearances on Conan. On the touring front, they opened for The Civil Wars, Foster The People, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cold War Kids, Stars (Canadian band), and The Walkmen, and toured with Lucius, Bahamas, Kopecky and Family of the Year. Their music has been featured in TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, Hart of Dixie, and Nikita as well as in the films Big Eyes and Fun Size. In 2013, Heringer collaborated with Damien Rice and provided backing vocals for Damien’s album My Favourite Faded Fantasy as well as for songs for the soundtrack of The Prophet.

On December 12, 2011, he joined Jay Roach's The Campaign, starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. On July 23, 2012, Middleditch joined the cast of the comedy film Someone Marry Barry, directed and written by Rob Pearlstein and produced by Barry Josephson. On August 23, 2012, he had a role in The Offices final season episode "The Farm". He had a role in the 2013 comedy fantasy film The Brass Teapot, directed by Ramaa Mosley, and played a police officer in the 2013 CBS Films coming-of-age comedy film The Kings of Summer. On January 30, 2013, Middleditch joined HBO's comedy pilot Silicon Valley playing Richard Hendricks.

In the comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love, a film starring Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling, released on July 29, 2011, Groban played a character named Richard, a caddish and nerdy attorney. In 2012, he appeared in episode 5 of series 12 of the revived British comedy panel show Room 101. In October the same year, his cover of "You Raise Me Up" was used in the Halloween-based teen comedy film, Fun Size in which Peng turns on the car stereo in Roosevelt's car and while he and Roosevelt are fighting over it, the knob breaks and the stereo blares the song at full volume, thus making Roosevelt, Wren, Peng and April uncool as they roll onto a night-cruising street. In February 2013, Groban appeared in CSI: NYs "Blood Actually" (season 9, episode 16), performing his new song "Happy In My Heartache", and guest anchored on Canada AM. Also in 2013, he played one of the lead characters named Sam in the independent comedy film Coffee Town, produced by CollegeHumor and co-starring with longtime friend and actor Glenn Howerton.
