Despite a sharp increase in the number of four-wheelers in the city, motorscooters are still very prevalent and are preferred to cars due to their affordability, fuel efficiency, manoeuvrability, and ease of parking. In February 2014, bicycle sharing system was conceived by the Corporation to encourage bicycle transportation. Around 3,000 cycles was planned to be stationed at 200 places, which can be accessed with smart card system. The neighbourhoods of Thousand Lights, Egmore, Mylapore, Royapettah, Kamarajar Salai, government offices and Fort complex will be covered by the network in the first phase.

In order to cater to the requirement of all types of industries the ceilings are having clear standard heights, load bearing capacity to withstand the installation of heavy machinery and its vibrations. The SDFs are provided with ample parking facilities and open spaces surrounding the buildings for easy movement of heavy vehicles and for shifting of machinery or cargo. Each unit set up in the SDF building are allotted ample parking spaces both for four wheelers and two- wheeler parking. Each SDF Building is equipped with power back up facility.

KMRL assigned Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to conduct a feasibility study on incorporating parking spaces on the metro rail corridor. The study was focused on understanding the ridership of all 22 stations including two terminal stations and assessing the possible number of two and four-wheelers, which would require parking in the Aluva- Pettah Metro Rail corridor. As part of the study, the School of Management Studies (SMS) also prepared the layout for parking with traffic circulation plan for each station. The SMS submitted the report on 10 August 2012.

Although not as susceptible as some suburban lines to competing road and tram transport the Chingford branch saw a decline in passenger traffic in the 1920s. This is partly as industrial developments northwards along the Lea Valley saw employment patterns changing although through the 1920s continuing house building along the route offset this. By 1928 all services were in the hands of the N7 0-6-2T locomotives and LNER Quint Art sets replaced the older GER four wheelers (by 1931). On the Ventnor line former London, Chatham and Dover Railway six-wheel coaches were converted to four-wheelers for easier running on the Island's curved track and made up into close coupled four-coach sets. The Centuro gets a remote lock with a flip key, the remote lock uses a 96-bit secure access just like four wheelers. The Centuro has already created a buzz in the market with its design and features and is likely to give leaders Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj, TVS and Honda some serious competition. The bike has been designed and developed from the ground-up at their R&D; facility in Pune, in view of demands and much criticism received from thousands of customers in the segment.

Production of three-wheelers was voluntarily ceased by all manufacturers by 1987, in light of safety concerns, and ahead of any legislation. Though future studies would show that three-wheelers were not considered more unstable than four-wheelers (although accidents are equally severe in both classes), manufacturers agreed to a 10-year moratorium on production, as well as collectively financing a +$100 million ATV safety campaign. Despite the moratorium lifting, manufacturers have not returned to the ATC market, focusing instead on four wheeled ATVs. A ban on sales of new or used three- wheelers and a recall of all remaining three-wheelers has been proposed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Chevalier were late in delivering the rolling stock. According to reports by Fell, Brogden and Barnes, 103 wagons were already being erected at St Michel in August 1867 but by February 1868 the company had only 2 of 11 first class carriages, 3 of 5 second class and 3 of 8 third class even though they were all due by the previous June. The delivered carriages were all four-wheelers and the missing ones were six-wheelers. When the line opened in June 1868, The Engineer reported 7 first class carriages, 4 second class and 8 third class, officially a full complement but not so according to the internal information.

Spinney Hills is in East Quogue, New York on the eastern end of the Long Island Central Pine Barrens region. It is sometimes used as a hiking, hunting, and off-roading area for dirt bikers, quadders, paintballers, and four- wheelers that includes miles of trails with near beach sand consistency. Spinney Hills gets its name because of Spinney Road, which used to connect the East Quogue side of the hills to Sears Bellows County Park and Flanders (home of the Big Duck) to the north prior to the construction of the Sunrise Highway New York State Route 27. This region was created by glacial deposits of rock and sand during the last ice age.

Safety has been a major issue with ATVs due to the high number of deaths and injuries associated with them and the negligible protection offered by the machine. Andhra Pradesh Motor Sports Club (APMSC) is an automobile racing and motor sports association in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh, India which was established in 1977. The club has its headquarters in Hyderabad, in the current state of Telangana and is affiliated to the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). The Club conducts many gymkhana and TSD rallies from 80s and is popular for hosting the "Charminar Challenge Rally" for both two- wheelers and four-wheelers. Starting with the two-wheeler rally in 1981, APMSC began the Charminar Challenge Rally for cars in 1984 which became a regular feature in the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) new format which began in 1988 under the aegis of FMSCI.

The NSR coaching stock was, even until grouping, predominantly four and six wheeled vehicles. Four-wheeled carriages were the norm from the start and the last were constructed in the 1880s, although by then they had progressed from the unbraked coaches of the 1840s with the introduction of the communication cord in 1869 and the simple vacuum brake in 1883. The first bogie coaches were introduced in 1906 for use on the Derby–Llandudno service and these were followed by further examples until 1923. By 1919 all carriages, except 13 four-wheelers used on miners' trains, had been fitted with steam heating and a number of vehicles had been fitted with through pipes to allow use in trains equipped with Westinghouse brakes.

The product has the potential for Light Weighting in vehicles by almost 50%, with strength matching that of high strength alloy steel at the weight of aluminium. The ITC sponsored Scissors Action Rally Team, based out of Coimbatore having strong links to the Coimbatore Auto Sports Club, was the first in establishing a professional rally team in late 80’s, eventually winning the inaugural rally in the INRC year 1988. This team had several top title contenders like L. Gopalakrishnan, DPF Krishnakumar and the two were leading the championship points at times during the 88 and 89 seasons. MRF Tyres were one of the major sponsors for some of the leading drivers and two wheelers riders since early 80’s, fielding some of the leading as well as new talents in both Four Wheelers and Two Wheelers. Though the team concept was non-existent then, MRF sponsored competitors had their own tuners.

The West Texas Rednecks were made up of leader Curt Hennig, brothers Barry and Kendall Windham, and Bobby Duncum, Jr.. Although Hennig was actually from Minnesota, he was billed as being from Texas (the other members of the group were all natives of Texas). They filmed several vignettes with them riding four-wheelers and recorded a country song called "Rap is Crap (I Hate Rap)", which received some airplay in the south and on WCW television. In the song, the group express their love of country music and southern culture, while also expressing their dislike of hip hop music. "Rap is Crap (I Hate Rap)" was written by Jimmy Hart and Howard Helm, and was released on the album WCW Mayhem: The Music.

The main activities of the National Federation are to promote motor sports at the grass-root level all over the country and to raise the standard of the sport by allocating and conducting various events, it trains and deputes technical officials including stewards to conduct events in a safe and fair manner, it formulated the rules and regulations, both sporting and technical, it issues licenses for clubs to conduct the events and for participants to take part in the events. FMSCI conducts National championships in over 10 different disciplines of motor sports like racing, rallying, karting, autocross, motocross & supercross, gymkhana, and drag. Two of the flagship National events are the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) and National Racing Championship (NRC) both for two-wheelers and four- wheelers. Nationals with multiple rounds are also conducted by different affiliated clubs which are granted the hosting rights through promoters in karting, supercross and drag.

Some trailers have two axles which have twin tires on each axle; other trailers have three axles, of which one axle can be a lift axle which has super-single wheels. In the UK, two wheels bolted to the same hub are classed as a single wheel, therefore a standard six-axle articulated truck is considered to have twelve wheels, even though it has twenty tires. The UK also allows semi-trailer truck which have six tires on two axles; these are known as four-wheelers. In 2009, the operator Denby Transport designed and built a B-Train (or B-Double) semi-trailer truck called the Denby Eco-Link to show the benefits of such a vehicle, which were a reduction in road accidents and result in less road deaths, a reduction in emissions due to the one tractor unit still being used and no further highway investment being required.

Designed by architect P. G. The blueprint of the renovation project included ornamental fountains, exclusive parking lots for two- and four-wheelers, a children's play area, bus shelters, ramps for physically challenged, and food courts. The whole length of the stretch from Triumph of Labour Statue to the Lighthouse measuring 3.1 km has been divided into 14 harmonious landscaped galleries dotting its span, each with an element of drama attached to the design in the form of small theatre-type galleries where visitors can sit. All the 14 sections vary significantly from one another and were designed in such a way as to the differentiation of sections not leading to any break in the walkway, which is a continuous walking stretch from the Triumph of Labour Statue to the Kamaraj Statue.

In addition, in 1889 and 1893, Holden built twenty smaller 0-6-0 tanks (Class E22) with 14 in. by 20 in. cylinders and a weight of 36½ tons, for light branch work. Some of the latter worked for years between Fenchurch Street and Blackwall with part of their side rods removed, so converting them to the 2-4-0 wheel arrangement. The R24 0-6-0s with their packed trains of 15 four-wheelers could reach speeds of up to sixty miles an hour. When the intensive suburban service of 1920 was introduced reliance was still placed largely on these 0-6-0s to maintain the new split-second timings, and they were quite equal to the task.
