After Hours was acquired by May Department Stores in 2001, and became a part of Federated Department Stores following that company's buyout of May in 2005. It operated over 450 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia. It was combined with David's Bridal when acquired by May, and during that time coordinated much of its inventory with David's Bridal. On November 17, 2006, After Hours Formalwear was sold to Men's Wearhouse and David's Bridal was purchased along with sister division Priscilla of Boston by Leonard Green & Partners.

Modern bespoke styles and high end off-the-rack suits equipped with surgeon's cuffs have the last two buttons stitched off-centre, so that the sleeve hangs more cleanly should the buttons ever be undone. Certainty in fitting sleeve length must be achieved, as once working button holes are cut, the sleeve length essentially cannot be altered further. A cuffed sleeve has an extra length of fabric folded back over the arm, or just some piping or stitching above the buttons to allude to the edge of a cuff. This was popular in the Edwardian era, as a feature of formalwear such as frock coats carried over to informalwear, but is now rare.

In the present day, however, are by default considered to be formalwear, despite the existence of some (informal summer kimono) with -style sleeves; the is generally worn for formal social functions such as tea ceremonies and weddings. Formality guidelines for kimono have also relaxed, to the point that the divide between wearing and other types of formal kimono is now one more of age, rather than marital status, with young women past their early twenties generally wearing shorter sleeved kimono instead. Both married and unmarried young women also have the choice to wear other types of formal kimono featuring shorter sleeves to formal events, such as the short sleeved , as well as wearing formal Western clothing rather than kimono.

The Arcadia Group has its origins in the firm founded by 18-year-old Lithuanian immigrant Montague Burton in Chesterfield in 1903 as The Cross- Tailoring Company. Burton's initial operation, a men's clothing manufacture, tailoring and retailing operation, became the genesis for the current Burton Menswear chain, which still remains part of the company, albeit having moved away from traditional tailoring to mainstream men's off-peg casuals and formalwear line with shifting trends in fashion and clothing. The eventual holding company survived as Burton Group plc until 1998, when the current name was substituted. The firm's headquarters moved from Chesterfield to Leeds in 1910, and The Cross-Tailoring Company had changed its name to Burton by the time the First World War broke out in 1914.

A local formalwear advertisement for the occasion of the 1921 inaugural ball Phoenix Country Club was officially incorporated on October 25, 1900 by a 12-member board including Webster Street, Chief Justice of the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court; and Dwight B. Heard, president of the Arizona Cotton Association. On October 29, 1919, the club voted to purchase a 160-acre tract of land at 7th Street and Thomas Road for the construction of a new club with and 18-hole golf course, tennis grounds, and a club house. This new property was to become the current location for the club.

Shaw flees when a covert ops team arrives and opens fire, led by Mr. Nobody. At his air base of operations in San Diego, Nobody says that he will assist Dom in stopping Shaw if he helps him obtain God's Eye, a computer program that uses digital devices to track down a person, and save its creator and hacker named Ramsey, from an African mercenary terrorist named Mose Jakande. Dom, Brian, Letty, Roman, and Tej then airdrop their cars over the Caucasus Mountains in Azerbaijan, ambush Jakande's convoy, and rescue Ramsey. The team then goes to Abu Dhabi, where a billionaire has acquired the flash drive containing God's Eye and manages to steal it from the owner after the team secretly infiltrates a gala dressed in formalwear.

A number of comedy gags acknowledged the pandemic and the format of the ceremony: Kimmel's monologue featured a laugh track and footage of audience reactions from past Emmy ceremonies. After using a clip that depicted Kimmel himself as an audience member, he revealed the empty arena, and seats with cardboard cut-outs of nominees (except for the real Jason Bateman, whom Kimmel told could stay if he promised to laugh at his jokes). Kimmel was also seen disinfecting the envelope for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series with Lysol spray; after Aniston commented that it was "a little extreme", Kimmel proceeded to throw it in a trash can and set it on fire instead. Some awards were delivered to winners via presenters in themed Hazmat suits designed to look like formalwear.
