In 2007, Rosengard was selected to be a contestant on the fourth season of Project Runway. The designers competed for the opportunity to show their Spring 2008 collection at New York Fashion Week, an editorial feature in Elle magazine, $100,000 (furnished by TRESemmé) to start their own line, the opportunity to sell their line on Bluefly, and a 2008 Saturn Astra. Rosengard was eliminated in the season's fifth episode. Upon his return to Chicago after filming for Project Runway ended, Rosengard designed "The Perfect Rose Dress" for Gaga's, a Chicago-based boutique specializing in children's formal attire.

Barong tagalog combines elements from both the precolonial native Filipino and colonial Spanish clothing styles. It is traditionally made with sheer textiles (nipis) woven from piña or abacá; although in modern times, cheaper materials like silk, ramie, or polyester are also used. Deviance Day is organized by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) under the Department of Social Sciences (DSS) and the Dalub-aral na may Ugnayan, Galing at Organisadong Ningas na Ginagabayan ng Antropolohiya (DUGONG-ANTRO) student organization. It is an adaptation of UP Cebu's "Crazy Day" and was originally a free concert hosted by the BA Social Sciences and BA Anthropology programs. Throughout the day, participating students, faculty and staff would dress up with their "not-so-everyday" attires. Many would copy the look of their favorite movie/cartoon/book characters, some would dress up in formal attire, others try to cross-dress, some do cosplay, and a brave few would enter classes with little clothing at all.

Boubou (or Agbada), a traditional robe symbolic of West Africa In contrast to other parts of the continent south of the Sahara Desert, the concepts of hemming and embroidering clothing have been traditionally common to West Africa for centuries, demonstrated by the production of various breeches, shirts, tunics and jackets. As a result, the peoples of the region's diverse nations wear a wide variety of clothing with underlying similarities. Typical pieces of west African formal attire include the knee-to-ankle-length, flowing Boubou robe, Dashiki, and Senegalese Kaftan (also known as Agbada and Babariga), which has its origins in the clothing of nobility of various West African empires in the 12th century. Traditional half-sleeved, hip-long, woven smocks or tunics (known as fugu in Gurunsi, riga in Hausa) – worn over a pair of baggy trousers—is another popular garment.

Old style Kaftan from Rabat Moroccan kaftan (in Arabic: قفطان and qafṭān, in Berber: ⵇⴰⴼⵜⴰⵏ, in french: Caftan) is a traditional Moroccan outfit. In the form of a long tunic, in general with long sleeves, worn with a belt (mdama) which can be extended under a lot of styles and colors. The Moroccan kaftan results from the expertise of craftsmen and dressmakers (maalem) of the country, under the influence of Berber (Amazigh) and Andalusian cultures, it has become also a part of the booming Moroccan textile sector, which accounts for 30% of the country's industrial employment and 15% of its exports.. It is considered to be the ultimate formal attire for Moroccan women during ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, religious festivals). Moroccan stylists have modernized the traditional kaftan by adapting it to the particularities of the current era.

Others traditions have evolved: the preferred dress is still jacket and tie, but the code has been relaxed slightly to allow for the less formal attire worn in offices today, but only if it does "not offend other members"; mobile phones are generally banned but can be used in the Club's old telephone area.

As the 18th century drew to a close, high society began adopting more austere clothing which drew inspiration from the dark hues and simpler designs adopted by country gentlemen. By the end of the 18th century, two forms of tail coat were in common use by upper-class men in Britain and continental Europe: the more formal dress coat (cut away horizontally at the front) and the less formal morning coat, which curved back from the front to the tails. From around 1815, a knee-length garment called the frock coat became increasingly popular and was eventually established, along with the morning coat, as smart daywear in Victorian England.
