Walter Stern began his career directing music videos at Control, a small production company based in London. Stern was born 1965 to a Jewish father of Austrian descent and a British mother. In 1993, he moved to production company Stigma Films where he first directed a promo for the band The Prodigy. In 2006, Omaha Rollergirls played their first game at a roller rink called Skate Daze in Omaha. The team played there for years with two teams going head-to-head, the Victoria's Secret Service vs the Lowdown Lucys. The team began playing games at the Mid- America Center in Council Bluffs and was ranked 10th in the WFTDA Regional Ranking at season-end. In 2012, the team played in the WFTDA "Landlocked Lace- Up" playoffs in Lincoln, NE. "Grand Unification Part 1" is the second single from the Fightstar album Grand Unification. There are two videos to this song. One of the videos is a mixture of Fightstar playing in a, what would seem to be some sort of cave or room, as well as scenes from Dragonball Z. The second video is the band playing in the same sort of cave/room but without the Dragonball Z scenes. It has since been revealed that the location used was the same as that used by The Prodigy in the controversial video for their song Firestarter, and this has been interpreted as a tribute on the part of Fightstar to The Prodigy.

"Money Jane" was originally written and produced by Offishall for his second album, 2001's Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1. At the suggestion of Kid Kut and Baby Blue Soundcrew member KLC, the song was rearranged to include Paul, who at the time was largely unknown outside of his native Jamaica and Jamaican diasporic communities. Kid Kut believed that Paul's lyrical and performance style made him well-suited for the Canadian market and traveled to Jamaica, where Paul recorded his verse.

The critical consensus reads, "Firestarter's concept hews too closely to other known Stephen King adaptations, though it's got nice special effects (including scenery-chewing George C. Scott)." The Chemical Brothers' album Dig Your Own Hole was released in April 1997 and was certified gold by the RIAA on September 10, 1997. The album sold 756,000 copies in the United States. The Chemical Brothers' song "Setting Sun" peaked at number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 1, 1997.
