According to fellow player Lois Balchunas (Bellman), "Anna Mae O'Dowd was a catcher and was she good." What was great for Anna about her professional baseball career—apart from participating in the game—was the travel. She had never left the Chicago area and was delighted to be able to travel so much.
After that first season, McGraw caught on with the traveling team of flamboyant promoter and fellow player, Al Lawson. Then only 21 himself, Lawson had gathered a ragtag group of players. Records from 1280 report on a game at Ulgham, near Ashington in Northumberland, in which a player was killed as a result of running against an opposing player's dagger. This account is noteworthy because it is the earliest reference to an English ball game that definitely involved kicking; this suggests that kicking was involved in even earlier ball games in England. In Cornwall in 1283 plea rolls No. 111. mention a man named Roger who was accused of striking a fellow player in a game of soule with a stone, a blow which proved fatal.
After graduating as a physician (together with fellow player Raúl Madero), Bilardo retired from play and accepted the job of Estudiantes coach in 1971. Rickey related this incident as an example of why he wanted a full desegregation of not only baseball, but the entire nation.

McGrattan's experiences led to a desire to help others; he works with the NHL substance abuse program to act as a mentor for others seeking the advice of a fellow player, and plans to spend his off-seasons earning a university degree in addiction counseling.
Mitchell made his debut for South Sydney in round 1 of the 2020 NRL season against Cronulla-Sutherland. FC Gossau suffered a striking series of defeats at the end of the 2008/09 season. FC Gossau was expected to lose the game against Locarno with at least four goals difference and the game actually ended 0-4. The then goalkeeper of Gossau, Darko Damjanovic, was said have been taken into custody by police, but went undercover. Gossau’s midfielder, Mario Bigoni, publicly stated that a previous season's game was "not clean" and that he had received a bid from a fellow player.
Although the teams' manager refused to accept the resignations, the players still took a vote—17 out of 29 endorsed the NZRFU's selections. During the voyage to England the team conducted training drills on the ship's deck; for this the forwards were coached by Gallaher and fellow player Bill Cunningham, while Stead was in charge of the backs. Consequently, the services of the NZRFU-appointed coach Jimmy Duncan were not used; his appointment had caused opposition from many in the squad who believed his expertise was not required, and that an extra player should have been taken on tour instead. After a six-week voyage, the team arrived in Plymouth, England on 8September 1905.
Zoratto is best known as one of the AC Parma most prominent players during the early 1990s. Notably, he played for Parma from 1989, the year in which the gialloblu promoted to Serie A for their first time ever, to 1994, winning a European Super Cup and a Cup Winners' Cup with the team. He was also capped one time for the Italy national football team by coach Arrigo Sacchi for a 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Switzerland. In 2006, after a few years as Parma youth coach, he became head coach of Serie B club Modena F.C., with his old fellow player Luigi Apolloni, a former Italy international too, as assistant.

Only a week after Nice, Budde won the German Nationals, securing another title he had not won before and thus making the national team. While he finished 44th individually at the World Championship, Kai led the German team with Felix Schneiders, a fellow player from his Cologne days, and Mark Ziegner to the team title.
Mahony was a member of the 1903 British Isles Davis Cup team that won the against the United States at the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston but did not play in the event. When four-time Wimbledon champion Reginald Doherty had a shoulder injury the British team captain William Collins elected to forfeit his first match, instead of letting Mahony play, so that Doherty would be allowed to play the reverse singles match later in the event. Mahony was 1.91m (6 ft 3in) tall and possessed a formidable backhand. His forehand was less notable: his fellow player, George Hillyard, wrote that he "never did acquire the right method of hitting the ball on the forehand".
In 1979, he pitched in only 11 games, with a record of 1-5, and had rotator cuff surgery. He was not in the majors in 1980, and when he came back in 1981 with the California Angels, he appeared in only 3 games, going 1-2. Rau was involved in an argument during Game 4 of the 1977 World Series with manager Tommy Lasorda. In January 2010, Gary Alcock punched, slapped and pinched his partner's 15-month-old daughter in the three weeks leading up to her death before he delivered a fatal blow to the stomach which tore her internal organs because she interrupted him playing his Xbox. She died from internal bleeding after suffering thirty-five separate injuries including multiple bruises, rib fractures and brain damage, which were comparable to injuries suffered in a car crash. Alcock was jailed for life and must serve at least 21 years. In May 2010, French gamer Julien Barreaux located and stabbed a fellow player known only as "Mikhael" who had stabbed Barreaux in the game Counter-Strike 6 months earlier.
Adam Tanner began his career with Ipswich and signed a professional contract at the start of the 1992–93 season and made his league debut on 2 January 1995 in The Premier League, scoring in a 4–2 victory against Leicester City. He also scored in a 1–0 victory against Liverpool at Anfield, the first time an Ipswich side had recorded a win at Anfield in their history. On 4 February 1997, Tanner was suspended by the Football Association for three months when a drugs test uncovered traces of cocaine in his blood. Both Ipswich manager George Burley and fellow player Simon Milton spoke as character witnesses for Tanner at the hearing.
His signature technique, very often featured in photographs of him, involved dropping to one knee with the paddle of his goalstick covering the five-hole, and extending his glove to cover the left side of the net. Although he caught the puck with his glove, he did so without gloves resembling the modern blocker and trapper glove combination. Thompson was described by Johnny Bower, a former goaltender who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, as a good puckhandler, and one of the best of his time at forward passing. In the 1935–36 season, Thompson became the first goaltender to get an assist by intentionally passing the puck with his stick to a fellow player.
By the end of October 2006, with The Linnets top of the Southern Premier League and into the First Round Proper of the F.A. Cup for the first time in nine years; manager Tommy Taylor left the club to take up a coaching role at Peterborough United. Cup 1st Round, setting up a second round tie with League One side Oldham Athletic at The Walks. The pair remained in charge of the club until Keith Webb was appointed full-time manager in December 2006.
He said that after the affair there was a long silence in the dressing room, which was broken suddenly and unexpectedly by fellow player Mark Burgess smashing a tea cup. Also on 17 February 2005, over 24 years after the original underarm delivery, Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath light-heartedly revisited the incident in the first ever Twenty20 international, played between Australia and New Zealand. In the last over of the match, a grinning McGrath mimed an underarm delivery to Kyle Mills, which prompted New Zealand umpire Billy Bowden to produce a mock red card. As New Zealand needed more than 44 runs to win off the last delivery the outcome of the game was never in doubt, so it was positively received by the crowd.
Joseph Haines (died 4 April 1701), also known as Jo Haines, was a 17th-century actor, singer, dancer, guitar player, fortune teller, and author. The Life of the Late Famous Comedian, Jo. Hayns, possibly written by fellow player Tobias Thomas, "must contain some grains of truth, but is so riddled with fancy that one can scarcely sort them out", according to the Biographical Dictionary of Actors (Highfill, et al. 1973-93). Nothing certain is known of Haines' early life. He joined a troupe of strolling players in Cambridge in 1667, joined a company of young performers at the Hatton Garden "nursery" in London in 1668, and there caught the eye of Thomas Killigrew and was invited to join Killigrew's patent company, the King's Company.
The pre-season period began with a number of new signings at the club. Dundee midfielder Scott Robertson was one of three players to agree pre-contract deals in June and he was followed by fellow player Paul Dixon shortly afterwards. Willo Flood returned on a second successive season-long loan and fellow Cardiff City player Warren Feeney followed on a similar deal, with Spanish striker Francisco Sandaza and Irish forward Roy O'Donovan (loan) the final signings. A number of players who were out of contract left the club following the end of the 2007–08 season, including Christian Kalvenes who moved to Burnley, and Mark Kerr, who followed Lee Mair, Stuart Duff and Lee Miller in recent years by signing for New Firm rivals Aberdeen.
Further good performances for Fylde meant that Mike was also selected for the England Counties XV in 2012, playing an Irish Clubs XV in Preston. in 2012 Mike left Fylde to move to Hong Kong where he spent a season at Kowloon in the Hong Kong Premiership - a spell blighted by restricted game time due to Visa issues and the tragic death of his friend and fellow player, David Tait. After his brief experience abroad Mike returned to Fylde before switching to Sedgley Park a division below in National League 2 North for the 2013-14 season. Mike made this move as he had just opened a gym in the summer and was unable to juggle his business with the increased travel demands of Fylde in National League 1.
The 2000 team was more successful, going 8–4, but criticism of Cooper among fans had risen to a clamor again and touched on many areas of the program beyond specific game records. The negative publicity rose to a peak in the days leading up to Ohio State's matchup with South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, when wide receiver Reggie Germany was suspended for having a 0.0 GPA, team captain Matt Wilhelm publicly criticized fellow player Ken-Yon Rambo, and one Buckeye lineman sued another. In January 2001, Cooper was fired. His loss in the Outback Bowl to a team that had not even won a single game the year before was a factor in his subsequent firing, as was negative publicity regarding player behavior before and during the game.

In the mid-1970s, Mentzer and a friend taught themselves how to play the new role- playing game Dungeons & Dragons, and he became part of a group of eight to twelve players who played several times a week. In 1979, TSR, the company that published D&D;, advertised for a designer and an editor. Although Mentzer was initially uninterested since he had no editorial or design experience, fellow player David Axler, who would go on to write an article for the December 1981 issue of Dragon magazine about how to determine the weather in the World of Greyhawk campaign setting,—urged him to apply. Mentzer finally relented and after a phone interview with TSR, he was hired for the editorial position, Tom Moldvay was hired as the new designer, and in January 1980, Mentzer moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

During the turbulent shooting of Die Nibelungen, Richter often had arguments with his director. This reached a climax when Richter refused to appear nude in a scene where the character of Siegfried bathes in the blood of a dragon he has slain. Lang deemed it important to emphasize Richter’s body, because the dragon blood is supposed to render Siegfried invulnerable everywhere but one spot on his upper back where a linden leaf happens to adhere to him. When Richter remained adamant, Lang asked fellow player Rudolf Klein-Rogge to double him in this key scene. Richter still objected, on the grounds that the audience would simply suppose Klein-Rogge’s bare backside was his own. Eventually, Lang did prevail, and the scene contains both a close shot of Richter’s back where the linden leaf lands and a long shot of the nude Klein-Rogge.

In January 2001, the Ohio State University dismissed Cooper. His loss in the Outback Bowl to a team that had not even won a single game the year before was a factor in his subsequent firing, as was negative publicity regarding player behavior before and during the game. Other contributing factors included the record against Michigan (which was actually considered by most people to be the biggest reason for his firing), a reputation of inability to win "big games", the lack of a national championship, the perception of him as an outsider by many alumni, the poor bowl game record, and finally a perceived lack of discipline on the team.

This followed another incident at the World Cup, where he repeatedly argued with fellow player and compatriot Dennis Taylor, and threatened to have him shot. For his conduct, Higgins was banned for the rest of the season and all of the next. During the World Trickshot Championship in 1991, Higgins demonstrated his seeming ignorance of how a professional snooker player should behave, when during his performance he referred to the black ball as "Muhammad Ali" in front of a live audience and TV cameras,Matchroom Snooker VHS MIS 10002 World Trickshot Championship by Mistrial Publishing which caused a visibly pained expression from Barry Hearn and an exclamation from fellow judge Steve Davis that his score was already low now before the shot was even played.
