Brisbane City Botanical Gardens. In January 1974 a flood occurred in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia after three weeks of continual rain. The Brisbane River, which runs through the heart of the city, broke its banks and flooded the surrounding areas.

Steam traction engines at Barleylands Farm Museum. Barleylands Farm Park and Craft Village is located in Barleylands, Billericay, Essex. It has a wide range of farm animals, indoor play, outdoor play, tractor rides, small rides, birds of prey centre and brand new for 2020 the Nocturnal and Exotic's House. They are well known for their animal care, popular children's birthday parties and events such as Lambing Live, Easter and Toddler Fireworks.
The farm remained in the Dallett family until its conversion to a public park and restoration of the farmhouse and barns for private use. The well house was built in the 1960s. The garage and east wing of the farmhouse were added as part of the 2014 renovation. While the property is private, it is adjacent to the Squire Cheyney Farm Park and the Springhouse is on public property.
The Frying Pan Meetinghouse (also known as Frying Pan Old School Baptist Church (1832) or Frying Pan Spring Meeting House) is a historic church building within Frying Pan Farm Park in Floris, Virginia. It was built in 1791 as a church building. In 1984 the last remaining trustee deeded the building to the Fairfax County Park Authority to preserve and maintain the property.Frying Pan Park, accessed August 23, 2012.
Ownership of the property was transferred to the Bourbonnais Township Park District in 1989, which developed the property as Perry Farm Park. The park features open recreation areas, 4 miles of walking trails, and the Exploration Station children's museum. The Perry Farm Living History Area includes the farmhouse, which now houses the Park District and is used as an interpretive center, the horse barn, an English barn and farm animals.
An old lane runs past the policies up to Wheatyfauld Farm, Park Terrace, Highden and beyond. Unusually the house had no entrance lodges. Part of the Auchinmade lands were included within the Swindridgemuir estate in 1874.Dobie, Page 50 The superiority of Aiket Castle was purchased by John Smith of Swinridgemuir (sic) and by 1874 had passed to his grand-nephew Major James George Smith-Neil of Barnweill and Swinridgemuir.
The catchment rises along the high ridgeline near Brush Farm Park and passes through a number of incised valleys until it reaches the flatter floodplain areas near the Parramatta River. The catchment is well developed. The upper areas are residential with extensive parklands along the creeklines. The flatter areas below Victoria Road contain several large industrial areas, as well as extensive parklands and the Ryde-Parramatta Golf Course.
Burpham Court Farm Park was a rare breeds centre occupying a former dairy farm on land between Burpham (specifically, north of the Wey Navigation cut to Burpham Lock) and Jacobs Well. Some of the farm buildings date back to 1600. The farm straddles the River Wey on land owned by the National Trust. Former farmer Bob Dearnley died after a spillage of rat poison on the morning of 28 May 2009.
The Albatross was kept in a shelter nearby, and was removed in 1931. The shelter appears to have still existed in 1955. In 1917 a Brisbane City Council minute called for it to be filled as far as the drain from the kiosk.
Musecape, 2006, 11 The house was officially opened on 7 April 2007. Council intend to use the building as a centre for cultural and community events, including art exhibitions, meetings and wedding functions (McClymont, 2008, scribed by Stuart Read). The stands of timber and grasslands in the surrounding parks are remnants of Brush Farm Park. In 2007 the Brush Farm & District Historical Society was awarded a NSW Heritage Volunteer Award.
Pascal was a State Senator from 1971 to 1974. From 1974 to 1982 he served as the Anne Arundel County Executive and was key to the creation of Kinder Farm Park, which he had the county buy from the Kinder family. Pascal was the Republican nominee for Governor of Maryland in 1982, losing to incumbent Harry R. Hughes. Pascal served as the Secretary of Appointments to Governor William Donald Schaefer from 1989 to 1995.
The castle is accessed via a steep climb up the hill from Castell Farm, which is near the car park. A large threshing barn has been converted to tearooms and a shop, whilst the majority of the farm buildings, around a traditional farmyard, retain their agricultural purposes. The main employers within the ward are the University of Derby, which employs around 3000 people, and the shops and businesses within Park Farm. Park Farm Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located on Birchover way. It was opened in October 1963 and at the time was one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The centre was designed by Burton architects William Blair and Partners and was built on farm land.
It is also home to the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum. During 2011 and 2012, the park underwent major refurbishment. It hosted the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in the summer of 2019. Newham Grange Leisure farm in the suburb of Coulby Newham, has operated continuously in this spot since the 17th century, becoming a farm park and conservation centre farm with the first residential development of the suburb in the 1970s.
Norristown Farm Park was originally part of a tract of land called "Williamstadt," which originally belonged to William Penn. The property was then transferred to Isaac Norris, the namesake of Norristown, by way of Penn's son, William Penn, Jr. Norris' heirs sold pieces of Williamstadt to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Norristown State Hospital was opened in the 1870s as a mental hospital. The park is on state-owned land that surrounds the hospital.
Edgmont Township is bordered by the townships of Middletown, Upper Providence, Newtown, and Thornbury in Delaware County, and Willistown in Chester County. The single largest geographic feature of the township is Ridley Creek State Park, comprising in the eastern part of the township. It is a popular destination for a full range of recreational activities, and it is home to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation, a colonial farm park staffed from late spring through early fall.
In addition, there are many year- long attractions in Davidson County. Some of which include Historic Uptown Lexington, which consists of the Davidson County Historical Museum located in the old courthouse and Boone's Cave Park (where legend says an adolescent Daniel Boone hid from Indians). Other attractions include Denton Farm Park, Walter Johnson Camp and Conference Center, and the North Carolina Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Big Chair in Thomasville is also a major landmark.
The suburb of New Farm including New Farm Park is located on the Brisbane River. The suburb is located 2 kilometres east of the Brisbane CBD on a large bend of the Brisbane River. New Farm is partly surrounded by the Brisbane River, with land access from the north-west through Fortitude Valley and from the north through Newstead. Merthyr is a neighbourhood within New Farm; until 1975 it was a separate suburb.
It then flows through a mountainous area with several large meanders, and turns south near Coventry Farm Park. It flows through Princeton Open Space Acquisition and then crosses Route 206. It then flows parallel to Quaker Road (CR-533) until it reaches the Delaware and Raritan Canal, where it turns northeast. It then receives Duck Pond Run from under the canal, crosses Alexander Street, and drains into the Millstone River at , just east of Princeton.
Taylor Farm Park is the site of an annual Greenwich Kennel club dog show. Sailboats and kayaks can be rented within the park at the Norwalk Sailing School, which also offers a small craft safety training program.Norwalk Sailing School Calf Pasture Beach is a major landmark along the Norwalk Islands Canoe/Kayak Trail. Boater safety courses are offered at the Dominic Lametta training center at U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 72 at Calf Pasture.
It passes under Moores Pike, under Smith Road, through Schmalz Farm ParkSchmalz Farm Park (City of Bloomington) and under Rogers Road. It then passes under Rhorer Road and flows into Jackson Creek. West Branch Jackson Creek originates in the vicinity of the intersection of S. High Street and E. Covenanter Drive and flows in the general southeast direction. It passes under Moores Pike and then through the far northeast corner of Southeast Park before flowing alongside Renwick Trail.
Māngere Bridge is an Auckland suburb under the local governance of the Auckland Council, at the south end of Mangere's bridge over the Manukau Harbour. It includes Māngere Mountain and is close to the Ambury Farm Park run by the Auckland Council. It is a multicultural area, often with large families, with the suburb dominated by brick-and-tile homes built in the 1960s–1970s. In 2019, the name of the suburb was officially gazetted as Māngere Bridge.

The Chipping Norton set are based in the Cotswolds. Other movies filmed in the Cotswolds or nearby, at least in part, include some of the Harry Potter Series (Gloucester Cathedral), Bridget Jones's Diary (film) (Snowshill), Pride and Prejudice (Cheltenham Town Hall) and Braveheart (Cotswold Farm Park).
His design work in Brisbane includes areas of New Farm Park and Newstead Park. Bowen Park is important for its association with Harry Oakman, Parks Superintendent for the Brisbane City Council 1948-63. Oakman was the first purpose-trained landscape architect to be employed by a government in Queensland. His contribution to the form and character of tropical landscape has influenced the design of most of the established public parks in Brisbane as well as Queen's Park, Townsville.
Local attractions include Middle Run Natural Area, White Clay Creek State Park, Carousel Farm Park & Equestrian Center, Golf and Restaurants. Pike Creek is approximately 5 miles from downtown Newark, Delaware which contains the University of Delaware. Pike Creek is connected to the University of Delaware campus and the Newark, Delaware downtown area by several bike trails. Pike Creek is approximately 10 miles west of the state's largest city, Wilmington, Delaware which is a national financial center.

His design work in Brisbane includes New Farm Park and Newstead Park. The place is important because of its aesthetic significance.

The parish is made up of . The population at the 2011 Census had reduced slightly to 426.
In 1903, Joseph Hendry Grice founded Valley Concert Band; it met in a Fortitude Valley drapery store. In 1921, the band won the Australasian Champion Band (military grade) contest held in Ballarat. In 1925 the Brisbane City Council provided funds for the band to return to Ballarat to defend its title. On 11 April 1927 the band performed at the garden party at New Farm Park for the Duke and Duchess of York when they visited Brisbane.
The hamlet itself has no public transportation links or amenities. The nearest primary school is at Holme St. Cuthbert, one-and-a-quarter miles to the south-east, as is the parish church. There is a pub, the Lowther, in Mawbray, but perhaps the closest attraction to Newtown is a farm park and tea room called the Gincase. The nearest railway station is Aspatria, and the nearest bus stops are at Beckfoot and Mawbray, on the B5300 coast road.
At the south-eastern end of the peninsula is the historic New Farm Park. Brunswick Street is the main street running northwest–southeast up the centre of the peninsula. To the south of Brunswick Street the suburb is characterised by large ornate Queenslander- style houses, shady streets lined with large trees and tall apartment buildings, predominantly along the river. More modest Queenslander-style houses dominate the north of Brunswick Street, where there are fewer large trees and apartments.
Calf Pasture Beach is an historically significant park and beach in Norwalk, Connecticut. The area of the park lands (including adjacent Shady Beach Park and Taylor Farm Park) is approximately .45 square miles. The beach is accessible by road or by public transit; Norwalk Transit District provides direct bus service to the park and the East Norwalk Metro-North station is about one mile to the north along Calf Pasture Beach Road, Gregory Boulevard, and East Avenue.

Not all haunted theme parks take place inside an actual amusement park. There are quite a few events that include multiple attractions in one place and may be located on a farm, park, parking lot or anywhere suitable for a large-scale event, but strictly speaking, these are not considered theme parks.
A tributary of Malletts Creek in County Farm Park after restoration (2013) Malletts Creek is a stream in Washtenaw County, Michigan. A tributary to the Huron River, much of Malletts Creek's watershed lies within urban or suburban areas. Approximately 40% of the land within the creek's watershed is topped with impermeable surfaces. As a result, the stream exists in an extremely impaired state, and testing sites on the stream monitored through the "Adopt- A-Stream" program continuously indicate the streams poor quality.
The Greater Brisbane League was originally known as the Queensland Baseball Association fixtures, which began in 1946 when six teams entered the competition playing primarily at New Farm Park, Kalinga Park, Langlands Park, Perry Park and the Brisbane Exhibition Ground. Uniforms were made out of surplus army uniforms and teams made up of many American ex- pat soldiers from World War II and A-Grade cricketers to keep game fit during the off-season.Harris, J.O (2009). Attended Follyfield House at Felsted School from 1946 to 1950. After work as a herdsman in Somerset he attended the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester (now the Royal Agricultural University). He worked for Earl Bathurst, then managed Salperton Park Estate near Cheltenham, before taking over the tenancy of Bemborough Farm from Corpus Christi College, Oxford with a former schoolfriend, John Neave. He started to keep rare breeds, including Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, and in 1971 opened the Cotswold Farm Park to the public.
Brothers become the first club in Brisbane to have their own ground at Crosby Park, Albion. The original arrangement began with the QRU as lease holder in 1949 but Brothers took over the lease in their own right in 1951. Prior to the move the players would train under lights at the local public New Farm Park. The success of the late 1940s and early '50s was not repeated for more than a decade, except for a premiership win in 1959.
The Dolphin Centre was a popular swimming and leisure facility located in the town from 1982 to 1995, but the site was redeveloped into the current Axis residential tower block and Asda superstore in the mid-2000s. There is also a Romford F.C. associated with the town. Romford Bowls Club is based in Lodge Farm Park. The town is strongly associated with the electronic music group Underworld, who cite Romford in their hit "Born Slippy", affiliated to the movie Trainspotting.
Iremonger used the mill until the late 1920s, shortly before Keyser's death. After Keyser had died and the Aldermaston estate had been divided and sold, his widow, Mary, approached Evelyn Arlott to run the mill as a tea room and guesthouse. The Arlott family purchased the mill in approximately 1939, after the death of Mary Keyser. In 1939, there were seven farms on the Aldermaston estate —Forsters Farm, Village Farm, Church Farm, Upper Church Farm, Raghill Farm, Park Farm, and Soke Farm.
Boat storage is available to residents only for an annual fee. The lake is stocked with fish and encircled by walking trails based around a 1.8 mile loop that ventures into the woods that stretch along a large portion of the lake. The park also has a disc golf course, docks, sand volleyball pit and permanent corn-hole boards (bring your own bean bags). Cascade Park, Barlow Farm Park, and Colony Park are large neighborhood parks used for sports and general family recreation.
The playground is very popular with local mothers and children, and festival organisers, wedding parties, sportspeople, the elderly, and picnickers use other parts of the park. The place has a special association with the life or work of a particular person, group or organisation of importance in Queensland's history. New Farm Park also has an association with the life and work of people of importance: Henry Moore, Harry Oakman, and Albert Herbert Foster, Brisbane's City Architect from 1913 to 1932.
New Farm Park is a heritage-listed riverfront public park at 137 Sydney Street, New Farm, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Albert Herbert Foster and built from 1914 to 1950 by Gladwin Legge & Co. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 7 February 2005. The park covers and is at the southeastern end of the New Farm peninsula on a bend in the Brisbane River. The Powerhouse arts centre is at the eastern end of the park.
The Crum Road Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The bridge was removed from its original location on Crum Road over Israel Creek and replaced by a new wide span concrete bridge in 1995. The bridge was relocated to the Heritage Farm Park, located several miles west off of Devilbiss Bridge Road for possible future use as a pedestrian bridge. The bridge was subsequently removed from the property in 2004 and its location is currently unknown.
Bella Vista homestead, Bella Vista Farm Park, Norwest, NSW In 1799 Joseph Foveaux was granted which, in addition to other purchases, he sold to John Macarthur in 1801. John Macarthur enlarged this through additional purchases until it comprised around . John and Elizabeth Macarthur farmed sheep on this property in addition to their properties at Camden and Parramatta. For much of the time that the Macarthur's owned this farm John was overseas and it fell to Elizabeth to manage the various Macarthur properties and flocks.
No plans exist yet for recreation facilities within the community, although the community plan shows the usual allotment of neighbourhood parks. A regional recreation facility, the SaskTel Soccer Centre, is located in the University Heights Suburban Centre to the south. The Forestry Farm Park and Saskatoon Zoo is also in the vicinity. A 24-metre wide Greenway has also been planned abutting the northwest border of Aspen Ridge, designed as a park, stormwater drainage channel, alternative transportation corridor and protective buffer to adjacent Northeast Swale natural area.
In 1998, a court case was argued on behalf of the Animal Legal Defense Fund v. Daniel Glickman (then the Secretary of Agriculture), for the inhumane treatment of a primate named Barney at a Long Island game farm park and zoo. A man named Marc Jurnove had visited this park on a regular basis and noticed this primate had been neglected. He filed suit against the USDA for failing to meet the minimum standards under the AWA and his allegations were supported by investigations.
The walk was inaugurated in Queensland in 1994 after Dr Cam Day, the RSPCA Queensland Operations Manager and Veterinarian, considered ways to raise $1 million and community awareness for disadvantaged animals. The inaugural Million Paws Walk was held in Brisbane's New Farm Park in October 1994 as the main focus of Pet Week celebrations. The idea was taken to a national audience in 1996. By 2004 there were 60 walks with around 30,000 people and 25,000 animals participating in every Australian state and territory.
The village School (built in 1872) was closed down and was purchased by the Trust; it was then converted into the village playschool for residents' children. The Trust also owns a farming community rented to its subsidiary, Guiting Manor Farms Ltd which specializes in sustainable food production. Various crops are grown and sheep are raised on the 580 acres; the lambs are sold for meat. The nearby Cotswolds Farm Park, privately owned by Adam Henson, is a tourist attraction with 50 breeds of farm animals.
Outdoor recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing, mountain biking, climbing, river sports, wildlife observation, and enjoying scenic areas, all within city limits, not to mention the vast recreational playground immediately surrounding the city. Current city parks include Dahlgren Family Park, E.J. Roberts Park, Future Tennant Trailhead Park, Gardiner-Weeks Memorial Park, Meadowbrook Farm, Riverfront Park, Si View Neighborhood Park, Si View Park and Community Center, Snoqualmie Valley Trail, Tanner Trail, Tannerwood Neighborhood Park, Tollgate Farm, Tollgate Farm Park, Torguson Park and William Henry Taylor Park.
The club originally played at Mynheer Park, before moving to Barnard Field on Pointweel Lane for the 1880–81 season. The following season saw the club move to Highfields Farm Park, where they played until relocating to Fabians Field on Colne Road in 1890. In 1895 the club returned to Highfields. After being given notice to leave the ground in 1960, land for a new ground on West Street was offered to them on a leasehold basis, with £2,000 raised to prepare it for the club.
The Canada-US border remained closed to non-essential travel, although many Wile Cup participants consider the tournament essential to every summer, playing without the American-based Croqsoc members was deemed a non- starter. This marks the first year in Croqsoc history that the Wile Cup would not be awarded. Despite the pandemic, a socially-distant "Regional" BBQ and Croquet was held at Gellatly Nut Farm Park in West Kelowna with the Okanagan residents. A course was plotted for the children's game, won by Audrey Wile.

There were nine households, eight villagers, a priest and a church, four ploughlands and of meadow. A mile south of Beckfoot is the side-road which leads to Newtown, and also to the Gincase, a farm park and tearoom. Immediately past the Newtown road comes Bank Mill Nurseries, which includes a garden, nature reserve, play area, and restaurant. The B5300 continues past Bank Mill, with sand dunes known locally as Mawbray Bank on the shore side, and agricultural land belonging to local farmers on the land side. The road then arrives at the western end of the village of Mawbray, and passes by a farm and several houses.

Amenities include Frying Pan Farm Park, a working museum farm operated by Fairfax County Park Authority.
Buildings and parts of rides in the Americana portion of the park as well as the Fantasy Farm park were left abandoned. In 2017, Butler Tech announced it purchased the Americana parking lot and the adjoining former Fantasy Farm amusement park land to develop a campus. The Fantasy Farm Motel and the former Fantasy Farm restaurant building were not included in the sale. Jerry Couch donated the former LeSourdsville/Americana park land to the City of Monroe who is currently developing the former park into a city park and regional bicycle trail.
The Sherwood Forest Railway (SFR) is a gauge light railway running through the old site of the Sherwood Forest Farm Park in Nottinghamshire, England The railway acquired its first two steam locomotives in 1998, began construction of permanent way in 1999, and opened to passengers in 2000. The railway runs along the 'flood dykes' of the early nineteenth-century irrigation system built by the Duke of Portland.See details of the water meadows here . The railway is still operated by its original two steam locomotives, 'Smokey Joe' and 'Pet'.
A 2015 River Plan proposed it become 'a flower garden bridge'. There is a small beach on the west side of the river at Braithwaite park often used in summer by water skiers and picnickers. To the north of the residential area is the Pukete Mountain Bike track, an Equestrian centre, and a two-lane launching ramp into the Waikato River, all on the Pukete Farm Park. A concreted riverside track, for bikes and pedestrians, runs north from Mountain View Lane starting by the southeast side of the Fonterra Te Rapa Milk powder factory.
Bridge across the river at McMillin, Washington The Puyallup River and its main tributary, the White River, have been subjected to major modifications during the 20th century. The Puyallup River between Sumner and its mouth at Tacoma was straightened. A diversion dam was built at Game Farm Park in 1914 to prevent the White River from flowing on its natural course into the Green River at Auburn; since then it has flowed into the Puyallup River instead of the Green River. Flood protection structures were built along many rivers in the basin, including extensive levees.

Goodyhills is a hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St Cuthbert, in northern Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located 1.5 miles east of the village of Mawbray, and 23 miles west of the city of Carlisle. A quarter of a mile to the north-west is the parish seat of Holme St Cuthbert, where the local primary school and parish church are located, and half a mile to the south-east is the small hamlet of Jericho. At nearby Newtown, there is a farm park and tea room called the Gincase.
A concert in Washington, D.C., on June 10, 1966, was recorded, and portions of it were later released by Biograph Records. Moss performed at the Newport Folk Festival in 1969 and appeared at Electric Circus, in New York, in the same year. During the 1970s, he performed at the John Henry Memorial Concert in West Virginia for two consecutive years. He also performed at the Atlanta Blues Festival and the Atlanta Grass Roots Music Festival in 1976, and later at the National Folk Festival, held at Wolf Trap Farm Park in Vienna, Virginia.
The park's vistas, jacaranda drive, river frontage, rose gardens, subtropical shrubberies and mature trees including palms, figs and poincianas, demonstrate an established subtropical garden character and are well appreciated by the public. The place is important in demonstrating a high degree of creative or technical achievement at a particular period. The first Brisbane City Parks Superintendent (from 1912), Henry Moore, horticulturalist and landscape gardener, displayed a high degree of creativity in his initial design of New Farm Park. Features such as the jacaranda drive continue to impress the public.
The area was also a working site of convicts (lime kilns dating back to 1870 are still evident on the river banks). Politician and judge Samuel Griffith built his house 'Merthyr' in the suburb in 1870. From 1885 to 1897 New Farm's transport needs were met by horse-drawn trams, which operated along Brunswick Street, as far as Barker Street. In 1897, the horse trams were replaced with electric trams and the line was extended, with trams ultimately running as far as Macquarie Street and down to the river at New Farm Park.
By Ferry At the river end of Brunswick Street a small cross-river ferry, operated by Brisbane Transport links New Farm with Norman Park. New Farm can also be accessed via two CityCat stops (operated by Brisbane Transport) - at Sydney Street and at New Farm Park. By Bus The suburb is serviced by several bus routes to and from the city centre. The Smart Cities: Rethinking the City Centre report proposes building green bridges from Merthyr Road across the Brisbane River to Bulimba in the east and to Kangaroo Point in the west.
Village amenities include an Animal farm park, a post office, village hall, park and playing fields, bowling green, library, a newsagent, a veterinary clinic, a Presbyterian church, Sandycroft County Primary School and the White Bear public house. The post office closed is now closed and has been converted into a private dwelling. Mancot was also home to a Conservative club and later on a social club. The club itself was originally a peanut factory located in Hawarden way opposite a once thriving fish and chip shop known later on as "Fred's".
Small vineyards were located in two separate gullies, one to the west (Dundas) of the house.McClymont, 2008, scribed by Stuart Read Landscape consultant Geoffrey Britton has identified two areas of terracing by doing aerial photographic analysis, one south of the house within today's Brush Farm Park, the other to its south-west, west of Marsden Road. In 1825 James Busby wrote the first of a number of books on viticulture and wine making. In 1833, he brought 437 grape cuttings back to NSW and made these widely available (through the Botanic Gardens, Sydney).
Woodley Town played their home games at East Park Farm, Park Lane, Charvil RG10 9TR. As of the start of the 2015/16 season, Woodley Town risked expulsion from the Hellenic League as East Park Farm was not up to the required standard fit for Step 6 football. The club moved out early, and from the start of the 2014/15 season took up residence in a groundshare agreement with Reading Town at Scours Lane. This was to allow the club to safeguard its Step 6 status and allow them to progressively upgrade the facilities at East Park Farm.
Ford served as King County, Washington County Commissioner during the Seattle World's Fair and was instrumental in King County's acquisition of MaryMoor Farm/Park and later served as the manager of Seattle's Boeing Field. He married Nancy Elizabeth McFate of South Colby, Washington; they had a daughter and a son. He died June 9, 2004 on Bainbridge Island at the age of 93, and was survived by his children Robert MacDonald Ford, III and Linda J. Ford (Cauthers). He is known to history as a fellow sailor and close friend of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Damaged West End ferry wharf, 2011 In January 2011, all of the wharves were damaged or destroyed during the Brisbane floods and the services were suspended indefinitely. Ten wharves had minor damage (Bretts Wharf, Apollo Road, Teneriffe, Bulimba, Hawthorne, New Farm Park, Mowbray Park, Dockside, Riverside, Guyatt Park), six had moderate damage (Norman Park, Eagle Street Pier, Thornton Street, River Plaza, South Bank 3, South Bank 1 & 2) and seven required rebuilding (Sydney Street, Holman Street, QUT Gardens Point, North Quay, Regatta, West End, University of Queensland). No ferries were lost. It was expected that the infrastructure repairs would take months to replace.
The Spirogyra Butterfly Farm Park Garden, (), located in San Francisco de Goicoechea, on the edge of Rio Torres, north of Zoológico Simón Bolívar, in Barrio Amon, Carmen District, San José, Costa Rica, is a butterfly house that houses from 50-60 different species of live butterflies from around the country in a climate-controlled, glass-enclosed habitat. The conservatory includes flowering plants, cascading waterfalls and trees. There are also several species of free flying "butterfly friendly" birds. There is a learning center where guests can get a close up view of a variety of live caterpillars feeding and developing on their host plants.
He became the managing editor of Musical America from 1960 to 1961 and executive director of the American Music Center from 1961 to 1963. When completed, the town included a library, theater, hotel, church, market, sewage farm, park, and many residential buildings. The bar in the Florence Hotel was the only place within the town limits where alcohol could be served and consumed. In the residential section, 150 acres were dedicated to tenements, flats and single-family homes with rents from $0.50 to $0.75 per month. The residences featured modern conveniences such as gas, running water, indoor sewage plumbing and regular garbage removal. By 1884, there were more than 1,400 tenements and flats. By July of the following year the population exceeded 8,600.
The land for this farm park was donated by Emma Prusch to the City of San Jose in 1962 to keep for agricultural purposes, and provides an introduction to farm life. The park is operated as a small farm by the City of San Jose, Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services. Barn space is provided to city kids in the 4-H and Future Farmers of America so they can experience farming practices in an urban environment. The farm also has a rare fruit orchard, a deciduous fruit orchard and two community gardens, and a urban farming project called Veggielution.
Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (originally known as the Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts and simply known as Wolf Trap) is a performing arts center located on of national park land in unincorporated Fairfax County, Virginia, near the town of Vienna. Through a partnership and collaboration of the National Park Service and the non-profit Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, the park offers both natural and cultural resources. The park began as a donation from Catherine Filene Shouse. Encroaching roads and suburbs led Shouse to preserve the former farm as a park.
It crosses the Barlings Eau at Langworth Bridge and there is a left turn for Stainton by Langworth, and a right turn for Newball, and the Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park.Woodside Falconry Further on in the parish of Stainton by Langworth, near Rand Wood, the B1399 heads north-east while the A158 changes direction and heads east to Wragby. Upon crossing Trooper Road, the roadway enters East Norriton Township and turns into a three-lane road with a center left-turn lane, passing more suburban development. The road curves to the east-southeast and becomes a two- lane road. After crossing Whitehall Road, Germantown Pike becomes a five-lane road with a center left-turn lane and passes between Einstein Medical Center Montgomery to the north and Norristown Farm Park to the south. The road loses the center turn lane heads into residential areas with some commercial establishments, crossing CSX's Stony Creek Branch at-grade.
The Infirmary continued to operate until 1967, when it was required to either modernize or close. In 1971, the Infirmary was finally closed after county officials concluded that it would be too costly to modernize, and the building itself was torn down in 1979. After the closure of the Infirmary, Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital considered moving to the site, but eventually decided on relocating elsewhere. The county then contemplated building a new courthouse on the grounds of the old Poor House before the land was turned over to the county's Parks and Recreation Commission for the creation of County Farm Park.
A haunted hayride is a haunted attraction and a form of agri- entertainment that takes place during a hayride on a farm, park or large piece of land. Patrons climb on a wagon filled with hay or haybales and are driven into the darkness as the tractor driver navigates through brush, cornfields, narrow paths, fields and barns. Throughout the trip, customers may come in contact with out-of-control farm equipment, fast-moving vehicles (hearses, hot rods), actors dressed up as monsters and traditional characters like the Headless Horseman from Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The typical haunted hayride lasts from 10 to 45 minutes.
At low tide a variety of wading birds can be seen in the estuary. During the summer months of June to September many hundreds of Canada geese can daily be seen heading northwards over Gwbert towards the Dyfi estuary marshes, returning each evening. The pardoned turkeys have typically ended up in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. From 1989 to 2004 they were sent to a children's farm called Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon, Virginia. From 2009 to 2013 they were sent to George Washington's Mount Vernon estate near Alexandria, Virginia, and in 2014 they were sent to an estate in Leesburg, Virginia once owned by former state governor and turkey farmer Westmoreland Davis. However, from 2005 to 2009 they were sent to either Walt Disney World or Disneyland. The turkeys rarely live to see the next Thanksgiving due to being bred for large size.
Lakeville has many recreational opportunities. The Parks & Recreation Department maintains a total of 62 public properties, including neighborhood and community parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, greenways, trails, tennis courts, skating rinks, picnic areas, conservation areas, nature areas, several public fishing areas, swimming beaches, the City's Central Maintenance Facility, Senior Center, and the Lakeville Area Arts Center. Notable parks include Ritter Farm Park, North Park, Antlers Park, King Park, Valley Lake Park, and Aronson Park, which features a Veterans Memorial. Antlers Park features a large swimming beach with volleyball courts, baseball diamonds, a playground area, water equipment, a picnic area, a fishing pier, and horseshoe pits.
The sense of urgency was apparent when this advertisement was repeated in the same newspaper the next day. However, no report of the meeting, if it did take place, or further mention of Merthyr Thistle, has been found. A club did re-emerge in the early 1920s at New Farm Park, where Merthyr Thistle had been based, but only at junior level where it operated under the name Merthyrs (in competition against the new Thistle club’s junior teams).(Brisbane Soccer Record, 21 June 1921, points tables. On 3 March 1920, six new clubs affiliated with the Queensland British Football Association at its adjourned annual general meeting.
Ultan received a bachelor's degree from New York University, a master's degree from Columbia University, and a doctorate from the University of Iowa. In 1971, he founded, and, from 1971 to 1974, served as Director of the Composer's Residency Program at Wolf Trap Farm Park in Vienna, Virginia. Ultan served as chairman of the Department of Music at American University in Washington, D.C. for 13 years, and spent a year as Visiting Professor of Composition and Theory at the Royal College of Music in London. He has also lectured at Cambridge University and been a visiting composer on numerous college and university campuses in the United States.
Although the park was designed by Henry Moore, the Parks Superintendent for Council, given the layout, which is still intact, includes a central path originally designed to lead to the proposed cathedral entrance, it is possible that Archbishop James Duhig and the cathedral architect, Jack Hennessy, junior contributed to the design. Other features were added to the park at later dates with the drawings for the podium, archway and tramways office dated 1928. Centenary Place was designed by Moore who was also responsible for designing New Farm Park and Newstead Park. He employed a formal design with defined layouts, planted garden beds, grassed areas, low sandstone retaining walls and curved paths.
The limited water supply and lack of funding also meant that despite the rapid increase in the city's population, little work was done to upgrade the city's sewage collection, which continued to rely on the collection of nightsoil. Other than the CBD and the innermost suburbs, Brisbane was a city of "thunderboxes" (outhouses) or of septic tanks. What finances could be garnered by the Council were poured into the construction of Tennyson Powerhouse, and the extension and upgrading of the powerhouse in New Farm Park to meet the growing demands for electricity. Brisbane's first modern apartment building, Torbreck at Highgate Hill, was completed in 1960.
The Colonial Sugar Refinery was built on part of this land in 1893. Brisbane Dropcentre Tram No.242 at the New Farm Ferry terminus, 1925 Horse-drawn trams had extended their run along Brunswick Street to Langshaw Street by December 1885, the electrification of trams occurred after 1895, and the trams reached New Farm Park in 1926. Portions of New Farm's swamps were drained between 1884 and 1887, and open stone drains were built on the eastern side of the peninsula, being diverted along Merthyr Road to the river. The City of Brisbane absorbed the Booroodabin Shire in 1903, and finished the job of draining the area between 1903 and 1909.
A museum also opened, and currently displays various props and costumes used in the show, and replicates some of the more well-known sets. Because of the show, Yumura has a connection with Hiroshima, and strings of paper cranes (sembazuru) folded by locals and tourists are regularly sent to Hiroshima. Other local sightseeing spots include the San-in Kaigan National Park (this coastline was once a part of the Asian mainland, and features many beaches, caves and rock formations) and Tajima Bokujo Park (a farm park where visitors can interact with animals and experience making traditional local cuisine). There is also a skifield open at Bokujo Park during the winter months.
Captain William Clark Fishing Pier The Calf Pasture Beach area has a large guarded beach, a fishing pier, a tree shaded playground, a small unpaved boatramp (suited to cartop boat launches, not trailers), sand volleyball courts, bocce courts, a skateboard park, baseball diamonds (with lighting for nighttime games), accessible restrooms, and a restaurant maintained by Ripka Beach Cafe. During the spring and autumn seasons the parking lot at Calf Pasture Beach is used for kart racing. Adjacent Shady Beach Park offers an unmonitored beach, shaded picnic tables, grills, and additional restroom facilities. Adjacent to Shady Beach is Taylor Farm Park, with a tidal pool and grassy and wooded areas for dogwalking.
Jacobs Well or Jacobswell is a small village in Surrey, England, of 20th century creation, with a population of 1,171. The village forms a northern outskirt of Guildford, in the civil parish of Worplesdon which can be considered the mother village of medieval date to the west. The Stoke Hill part of Stringers Common, Slyfield Industrial Estate and a Surrey County Council general waste transfer station to the south form the narrowest of its buffer zones to all sides, separating the Slyfield part of Guildford from the village. Between Jacobs Well and Burpham to the south-east and east lie the River Wey, Burpham Court Farm Park, the River Wey Navigation, and the A3, in that order.
A third possibility is that the club was a new entity having no link to either of these clubs. The first Thistle club disappeared during the 1890s but re-emerged by 1911 as Merthyr Thistle, a club based at New Farm Park. Merthyr Thistle had a brief but successful career, winning the Brisbane first grade competition and Charity Cup in 1915 Brisbane Courier, 7 October 1915 and reaching the senior division grand final in 1919, the first season in which senior football resumed in Brisbane after World War I. In the decider, played at the Brisbane Cricket Ground on 4 October, Merthyr Thistle’s hopes were dashed in a 3-1 defeat against Pineapple Rovers.(Daily Standard, 6 October 1919).
The meeting suggested that Brisbane City Council's Parks Superintendent, Mr Harry Moore be asked to advise. A horticulturalist and landscape gardener, Moore had been appointed as Brisbane's first Parks Superintendent in September 1912, a position he held until the early 1940s, and in 1914 had created the much- admired New Farm Park in Brisbane. In annual Mayor reports, Moore was thanked for his work in beautifying the parks and gardens of Brisbane, and his services were lent to Stephens Shire in 1916 to prepare a design for the Yeronga Memorial Park (constructed 1917–1921). By early February 1919 Moore had visited Gympie and reported on a number of proposed sites for a park or garden.
Chalfont St Peter is often described as the Gateway to the Chiltern Hills. It is not a major tourist centre but has many places to stay, the most notable being The Greyhound (former local court house where hangings took place), which is situated at the foot of the village on the banks of the River Misbourne. Nearby there are several manor houses of note, as well as many museums, cottages and parks. Milton's Cottage in Chalfont St Giles, the Colne Valley regional park, Bekonscot Model Village, Chenies Manor House, the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Odds Farm Park, Cliveden, Dorney Court, Harrow Museum & Heritage Centre, Royal Windsor Racecourse and Hughenden Manor are the nearest attractions to the village itself.
Wolsty Bank with the Solway Firth to the right and the hamlet of Beckfoot just visible in the background to the upper left. Wolsty today remains a farming settlement, but it is quite small and has no facilities or amenities of its own. The nearest shops are in Silloth-on- Solway, three-and-a-quarter miles to the north, and there is a bus service which runs along the B5300 coast road between Silloth-on-Solway and Maryport approximately every two hours in either direction. At nearby Newtown, there is a farm park and tearoom called the Gincase, and Bank Mill Nurseries, a garden centre with a restaurant and play area, is located just to the north of Beckfoot.
The Department of Recreation and Parks maintains "a comprehensive system of recreational programs for county residents and the preservation of valuable land," including indoor and outdoor sports facilities, community parks, green ways, archaeological, environmental, and historical preserves, and large regional facilities. Some of the major facilities include the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, Downs Park, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, Fort Smallwood Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Quiet Waters Park. Other attractions include the Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville, the Maryland State House and the Colonial Annapolis Historic District. Anne Arundel County is home to the two largest shopping malls in the State of Maryland: Westfield Annapolis Mall and Arundel Mills in Hanover in addition to Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie.
Until the kiosk burnt down in 2000, it was one half of the last surviving kiosk-bandstand related group in Queensland. A kiosk and bandstand were built in Albert Park in 1911, a bandstand at Bowen Park (1914), and kiosks were built in the City Botanic Gardens, Moora Park (Sandgate) and Mount Coot-tha Lookout. In 1916 two concrete cricket wickets and 2 football grounds were completed at the north- western side of New Farm Park, and a croquet site was selected in the northeast. The croquet lawns were to form a break in the belt of trees on the park's north-eastern boundary, and until recently hedges always screened the lawns.
An article in the Telegraph, 6 March 1965, claimed that there were 40,000 roses bushes in New Farm Park, which made it one of Australia's top three rose gardens. After the 1974 flood covered the rose beds in up to of toxic silt, 4,000 new rose bushes were ordered in 1974, and 3,000 more in 1975. A report by the Queensland Conservation Council released that year claimed that Brisbane's parks were, in general, often flat, lacking in trees and natural water features, and had too much emphasis on built-recreation facilities.
Britton Woods County Farm Park contains the Britton Woods Nature Area, an 18-acre forested area named for Claudius Britton, the last private landowner of what is the modern park who sold the land to the county in 1836. It contains both upland and floodplain tree species, including upland oak, hickory, and cherry trees as well as floodplain maple, ash, ironwood, and hornbeam trees. Numerous species of wildflowers grow in Britton Woods, but the white trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) and Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum) are the most common. Other native flowers, including Rue anemone (Thalictrum thalictroides), Yellow Violet (Viola pubescens), False Solomon’s Seal (Smilacina racemosa), Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis), and Early Meadow Rue (Thalictrum dioicum), are also part of the ecosystem.
The success of the festivals use of engagement produced an enhanced sense of cultural unity leading to a yearning to share and repeat the experience among the attendees, as well as communicating to a wider audience increasing both visitors and an appreciation of what it is to be Italian. Italian Week featured on Qantas in-flight program around Australia and on numerous television shows including the Great South East, Channel 7, RAI international and more. Events in 2015 and 2016 in Brisbane’s New Farm Park attracted record crowds with over 50,000 visitors to the festival in 2015 and 65,000 in 2019. Moreton Bay figs at the City Botanic Gardens Brisbane's major parklands include the riverside City Botanic Gardens at Gardens Point, Roma Street Parkland, the 27-hectare Victoria Park at Spring Hill and Herston, South Bank Parklands along the river at South Bank, the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha and the riverside New Farm Park at New Farm. There are many national parks surrounding the Brisbane metropolitan area. The D'Aguilar National Park is a major national park along the northwest of the metropolitan area in the D'Aguilar Range. The Glass House Mountains National Park is located to the north of the metropolitan area in the Glass House Mountains and provides green space between the Brisbane metropolitan area and the Sunshine Coast.
The place is important in demonstrating the principal characteristics of a particular class of cultural places. The Memorial Park at Gympie remains among the most intact of the early twentieth century collaborative efforts of landscape designer Henry (Harry) Moore and architect AH Foster, in creating popular and much- admired public parks and gardens. As employees of the Brisbane City Council and associated principally with Brisbane, the fact that Moore and Foster were invited to design the park layout and bandstand at Gympie is testament to the popularity and wider influence of their work at this period. Nelson Meade County Farm Park is a 141-acre public park in eastern Ann Arbor, Michigan owned by Washtenaw County and operated by the county's Parks and Recreation Commission.
