Antolini was born in 1899 in the province of Ferrara and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1913. Her family worked as contract laborers in Louisiana and later settled in Connecticut, where they found employment in manufacturing. He studied the life of the poor's by putting on disguise and blend into the people, so that they don't know that he's a priest. Jørgen Olsen Thon (8 March 1866 – 12 January 1937) was a Norwegian newspaper editor and politician for the Labour and Social Democratic Labour parties. He started his career as a construction, mine and factory laborer, and was organized in 1903. He was hired as a journalist in Hønefos og Oplands Socialdemokrat in 1914, and was then its chief editor from 1915 to 1927. He then took over as head of the local office of Fremtiden.

Liv Undheim Liv Undheim (7 October 1949 – 4 April 2011) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. She was a factory laborer in the china company Figgjo for thirteen years, before being hired as a secretary in the Norwegian Union of Chemical Industry Workers. After nine years here she became deputy leader in 2001. When her union became a part of Industri Energi after the merger in September 2006, she continued as deputy leader there until October 2010.

Born in the village of Dilyalevo, Vologodsky Uyezd, Vologda Governorate Russian Empire as the youngest of 11 children in a peasant family, the largely self-taught Ilyushin left home at an early age. He worked as a factory laborer, ditch- digger at construction sites, and cleaner of gutters at a dye plant in Petrograd. In 1910, he learned that jobs were available at Kolomyazhsky Racetrack as a groundskeeper. The racetrack was also the site of the first All-Russia Festival of Ballooning in autumn of 1910, and Ilyushin assisted in unpacking crates and setting up equipment.

His father, who held a high, well-paying position in government service and had a poor opinion of agitationists, told him to apologise to the college management, not to participate in such activities again, and prevent (or revoke) the expulsion. Dhingra refused, and chose not even to go home to discuss matters with his father, but to take a job and live as per his own wishes. Thus, following his expulsion, Dhingra took a job as a clerk at Kalka at the foot of the Shimla hills, in a firm that ran a Tanga carriage service to transport British families to Shimla for the summer months. After being dismissed for insubordination, he worked as a factory laborer.

Nushi was born to Albanian Orthodox parents in Vuno, a village on the coast of Himara. He attended a grammar school in his youth. In 1928 he became an emigrant with his father for reasons of economic difficulties at home, settling in Lyons, France, where he worked as a factory laborer. In these conditions he involved himself in left-wing activity among émigré Albanian intellectuals and in 1935 became a member of the French Communist Party. In response to the Italian invasion of Albania in 1939 he returned to the country a year later, where he became a founding member of the Communist Party of Albania and played an active role in the partisan resistance during World War II. He headed the Party organization of Tirana throughout this period, using his prior experience among the French working class to organize Albanian workers and youth for the resistance, and was intermittently arrested and released by the occupation authorities in the process.
