Asher yatzar ( "Who has formed man") is a blessing in Judaism. It is recited after engaging in an act of excretion or urination, but is also included in many Jewish prayer books as a part of daily prayer prior to birkot hashachar. The purpose of this blessing is to thank God for good health. It expresses thanks for having the ability to excrete, for without it existence would be impossible.

70 Faces notably departs from the pop and adult contemporary sounds of My Awakening, instead incorporating blues, jazz, and funk elements similar to Shaggy and Jamiroquai, as well as alternative rock influences like Coldplay, Muse, and Radiohead. Lyrically, the album features more original English lyrics than My Awakening, although Hebrew prayers and scripture are still invoked. "Lo Irah" and "Roll" deal with persecution, while "Modim" expresses thanks to God for life's successes. The R&B-influenced; "Shidduch Song", which appeared on the previous album as a hidden track, satirizes the confusing customs of New York's shidduch scene.

The location of the statue is actually to disguise the ventilation shaft for the new carpark underneath the renovated building. The wishing well also includes "a poem telling the story of Islay which will be specially translated into Braille, four proverbs highlighting the morality of giving in six different languages, and a piece of stone from Blarney Castle, Ireland." Since 1998, a recorded request for donations, supposedly being "spoken" by Islay, has been played at regular intervals from hidden loudspeakers. The recording says, "Because of the many good deeds I've done for deaf and blind children, I have been given the power of speech", and then expresses thanks for donations.

Literature historian Marco Nievergelt, however, says that Lewes is "generally accepted" as its author. In one paragraph Lewkenor expresses thanks to the general he served under in the Low Countries, Jan Baptista del Monte and his brother Camillo del Monte, and he repeats his gratitude in a similar paragraph in his next work The Commonwealth and Government of Venice. His 1599 translation of Gasparo Contarini's De Magistratibus et Republica Venetorum (as The Commonwealth and Government of Venice) demonstrates "the admiration Englishmen could express towards aristocratic republics". Lewknor described the republic as a combination of genius and divine favour: "as it were entertaining a league of intelligence with heavenly powers".

Sephardim still recite it on the Eves of Yom Kippur and Passover, and segment of them still recites it on Shabbat and Yom Tov.
