Miroslav Pribanić (born 22 June 1946 in Bjelovar) was a Croatian handball player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was part of the Yugoslav team which won the gold medal at the Munich Games. He played all six matches and scored twelve goals. The Handball Federation of Portugal () (FPA) is the national handball association in Portugal. FPA is a full member of the European Handball Federation (EHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF). The organisation oversees the national teams that represent Portugal in the international handball competitions, as well as all the club competitions within the country. It also runs the derivate forms of the sport in Portugal, namely beach handball and adapted handball.

The Handball Working Committee was first formed in Zagreb in 1940 and the following year the HRS itself was formed within the Independent State of Croatia. After the Second World War, it was renamed the Handball Federation of Croatia and ceded some powers to the Yugoslav Handball Federation. Upon Croatia's independence from Yugoslavia, the Croatian Handball Federation again represented the country. Tor Lian (13 June 1945 – 14 July 2016) was a Norwegian sports official. Lian was the president of the Norwegian Handball Federation from 1985 to 1999 and the European Handball Federation from 2004 to 2012. He was the vice president of the Norwegian Olympic Committee from 1990 to 1996 and board member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports from 1991 to 1996. He became an honorary member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports in 2010.

Andorra gained full membership to the European Handball Federation in the 11th Extraordinary EHF Congress on 29 May 2011. The men's national team played its first official match, a friendly, on 7 October 2011, hosting Ireland. 350 fans gathered together to witness the game, which was won by the visitors in the dying seconds to 30–29. In 2015, Andorra played the IHF Emerging Nations Championship in Kosovo, where it only could win one of the six games played.

After the 1998 season and successful 1998 European Handball Championship in Italy, Savukynas transferred to UMFA Afturelding in Iceland. In 1999, with UMFA Afturelding he won every possible title in Iceland – Champions Cup, Iceland Handball Cup, Iceland Handball League (for the first and only time in the club history). Following the decision of the Executive Committee of the European Handball Federation in April 2011, the system of the EHF Women's Champions League qualifying tournaments have changed. Starting from this season, the second qualification tournaments will be played under a final four format, with the semifinals held on a Saturday while the final on the following day. The winners of each tournaments will qualify for the group stage. The method of the first qualification round did not change.

The draw for both of the first and the second round took place on 26 July 2011 in the European Handball Federation headquarters in Vienna, performed by ŽRK Krka Novo Mesto president Andrej Petkovič. Pursuant to the competition rules, the clubs were divided into two pots, with the highest ranked teams sorted in the seeded pot and the other ones situated in the unseeded pot. The initiative for establishing the regional South-East European handball league was presented during the first half of 2011. After the idea of forming a Regional Sparkasse League failed, during July 2011 it was agreed that the first season of the SEHA League would start in September of the same year. In the first season of SEHA League, 14 clubs took part, but their number reduced during the following years. In the 2019–20 season, there are 12 clubs from 8 countries.

He has also played six EHF Champions League finals winning two in 1984-85 and 1985-86 as part of the famous RK Metaloplastika which dominated European handball in the 1980s (often referred to as Handball Aliens). Bašić was a big influence on Thierry Omeyer who is regarded as the greatest goalkeeper in handball history.

The team's biggest achievement was a performance in the European Handball Championship that was held in Sweden in 2002, where it didn't manage to go through the first group stage. In the qualifying playoff games the Israel beat the Republic of Macedonia . The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) () is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Asia. Their first season in strongest domestic competition, Lovćen finished in sixth place. Handball SA (formerly Team Handball Association of South Australia, or THASA) is the administrative body for European handball in South Australia and is based in Adelaide. Handball SA's primary purpose is to promote and develop team handball in South Australia, run junior and educational programs and administer team handball and beach handball competitions in the state. Handball SA is operated by a committee of volunteers whose current president is Tammie Hamilton. THASA, as Handball SA was then known, was founded in 1987 and its first president was Dieter Schultz.
From 1981 and on because of the political situation in Kosovo, handball was in a difficult position and only recovered in 1999. They were accepted in the International Handball Federation (IHF) and European Handball Federation (EHF). The national team held matches in Bosnia, Turkey, Bulgaria and other Balkan nations. On 28 November 2001 Pristina hosted a match against Kelecolu, a Turkish team and this marked the beginning of continual friendly matches of Kosovo against other nations not only in the Balkans but as far as Great Britain, Scotland, Egypt etc.
Following the breakdown of Yugoslavia and subsequent independence of Kosovo as a nation, Kosovo Handball Federation began operating independently. In 2014, six years after Kosovo declared independence, the European Handball Federation (EHF) recognised Kosovo as a full member state and immediately the Kosovo national handball team started competing in international competition. After a difficult start, Kosovo’s national team has started to gain notoriety in international competition. After twice winning the bronze medal in the international IHF Trophy for emerging nations, the team is no longer considered an emerging nation.

The 2022 European Men's Handball Championship qualification is a handball competition organised by the European Handball Federation (EHF) to determine 20 of the 24 men's national teams competing in the 2022 European Men's Handball Championship final tournament. They will join the other four teams already qualified: Hungary and Slovakia, as final tournament co-hosts, and Spain and Croatia, who finished in the top two positions in the previous championship. This qualification competition is being disputed by a total of 44 national teams in three phases between January 2019 and May 2021.

Audi Aréna is a multi-purpose arena in Győr, Hungary. Audi Aréna holds 5,500 people and opened in 2014. It hosted the 2014 European Women's Handball Championship and the 2019 Women's U-19 European Handball Championship. The arena was named after Audi, the main sponsor of Győri ETO KC. The Audi Arena Györ is located only four kilometres away from the city centre with public transport stopping directly in front of it. The new arena’s press centre seats 84 journalists, while the VIP area is big enough for 192 guests.
Martin Tomovski () (born 10 July 1997) is a Macedonian handball player who plays for Die Eulen Ludwigshafen and the Macedonian national team. He began his career in HC Tinex Prolet and in 2015 made a transfer in RK Metalurg Skopje. He has played in EHF Champions League and Seha League and 2018 was his third season in both of the competitions. The 1993–94 EHF Women's Champions League was the first edition of the European Champions Cup, the premier European women's club handball tournament, being organized by the European Handball Federation. The competition was renamed EHF Champions League and the format of the football 1991–92 European Cup and 1992–93 UEFA Champions League was adopted. This inaugural edition of the Champions League was won by Hypo Niederösterreich in a replay of the previous season's final match against Vasas Budapest. It was their third European Cup in a row.
In July 2012 Buceschi returned participating at the 2012 Women's Junior World Handball Championship in the Czech Republic where she finished fifth on the top scorers' list with 58 goals. She also participated at the 2011 Women's 19 European Handball Championship in the Netherlands where she finished third on the top scorers' list with 55 goals. Two years later, the Championship was held in the Croatian cities of Zagreb and Rijeka. By now, the Championship had been moved back to January2000 Men's European Championship – Finals, from EHF, retrieved 27 January 2006 in the middle of the European handball season. The Városi Sportcsarnok () is a multi-use indoor stadium in Békéscsaba, Hungary. The arena, which has an oval shape, very similar to the Colosseum, was opened in 1988, and has been modernized and renovated for the 2004 European Women's Handball Championship, to fulfil the strict criterium of the European Handball Federation. It is the home ground of the local sports clubs, from which the best known is Békéscsabai Előre NKSE, that usually play in a sold-out arena. The sports hall also hosts martial art events, futsal matches, galas, expos, balls, dance competitions and motocross races.
The Handball Federation of Slovenia was formed on 11 December 1949 under the former Handball federation of Yugoslavia. In Yugoslavia, the Slovenian clubs played in the Yugoslavian Handball Championship in I. and II. league, the interrepublic and the republic leagues. Slovan, Celje and Rudar Trbovlje were the only Slovenian teams that played in the Yugoslav First League. In the 1991–92 season, just after the Slovenian independence, the Handball Federarion of Slovenia was accepted to the European Handball Federation and the International Handball Federation and the first season in Europe for the Slovenian teams was played in the 1992–93 season.
