The old facilities of ITE Bishan currently serve as a temporary holding site for schools which are undergoing renovation. Alternatively, polytechnics and arts institutions in Singapore prepare students for both workforce and university studies. Darren Wershler, aka Darren Wershler-Henry, (b. 1966) is a Canadian experimental poet, non-fiction writer and cultural critic. Whalley studied composition with Malcolm Edmonstone and later with Nigel Osborne and Peter Nelson and was awarded a Ph.D. in 2014. The Humanities Programme is a pre-university programme under the Ministry of Education offered at junior colleges and integrated programme schools. Formerly the Promsho programme (pre-university cum overseas undergraduate scholarship for the study of humanities at Oxbridge), the programme was formally introduced in Hwa Chong Junior College and Raffles Junior College in 1981.
