On June 19, 1951, Adams began his own television program on KTTV in Los Angeles. The show featured Adams' 15-piece orchestra, vocalist Mauri Lynn, and the Hi Hatters dance team. On stage, Adams had the role of Joe Nashua in the Broadway musical Jamaica (1957).

The inaugural National Indigenous Human Rights Awards were held on 24 June at Parliament House, Sydney. Indigenous leaders from all over Australia travelled to Sydney for the event. The ceremony was emceed by Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Linda Burney, with a keynote speech by Yalmay Yunupingu. As the executive director of the Louisiana Writers' Foundation, Smallwood was responsible for organizing a "Black & White Ball" at the Hotel Monteleone on the 40th anniversary of Truman Capote's famous New York event. The event was held to raise donations for writers struggling to return to post-Katrina New Orleans, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity. Chet W. Coppock (April 30, 1948 - April 17, 2019) was an American radio broadcaster, television broadcaster, sports talk personality and author based in Chicago. His fifth book “Chet Coppock: In Pursuit of Chet Coppock” was released in July 2018. Coppock hosted the Chicago Blackhawks Heritage Series, and emceed corporate sponsorship events for the Blackhawks featuring former NHL stars such as Bobby Hull, Tony Esposito and Denis Savard. In her acceptance speech at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards, she denounced President Donald Trump's executive order of travel ban as "un-American," and said, "My father fled religious persecution in Nazi-occupied France." The opening ceremony had Rita Mae Brown as master of ceremonies, and also featured Gwen Avery, the Barbary Coast Cloggers, Leona Jiles, Nepata Mero, Ron Murphy and his Choir, Sharon McNight, Calvin Remsberg (from the cast of Cats), the Golden Gate Precision Dancers, and the Lesbian/Gay Band of America. The closing ceremony was emceed by Armistead Maupin and featured Jennifer Holliday as the main star.
The first Morbid Curiosity Open Mic was held at the Death Equinox '99 convention in Denver. In 1972, after two failed attempts to sell a pilot, CBS bought from Barry the game show that would permanently revive his career as a host and producer: The Joker's Wild. One of the original pilots of The Joker's Wild was produced in 1969 during Barry's collaboration with Mark Goodson and Bill Todman and was emceed by Allen Ludden. Although credited as "A Jack Barry Production", there had been speculation that ex-partner Enright was somehow involved with the show, and indeed Enright was credited as executive producer in the show's final year on CBS. Nonetheless, Joker proved to be a success.

The show's final episode aired on March 24, 1989, the same day Sale of the Century aired its series finale and a little more than two months after Ryan's Hope ended. Super Password was Bert Convy's last network game show (and final for Mark Goodson Productions) hosted before his death two years late. Though he emceed a pilot for an ABC revival of Match Game in late 1989, he was too ill to host when it was picked up a year later. Convy later hosted Win, Lose or Draw and 3rd Degree for syndication before his death from brain cancer in 1991.

At university he began performing with a sketch comedy theatre group called Comedy Corner and did stand-up for the first time competing in the US College Comedy Competition that was emceed by Judd Apatow. From there he began bicycling to Laff's Comedy Cafe on a weekly basis to do open mics. After university, he moved to Chicago where he worked as a waiter at Bella Bacino's pizzeria and began taking classes at The Second City before landing regular road gigs for stand-up.

Rayburn had trouble finding jobs after that, blaming the reporter for revealing his age and subjecting him to age discrimination. His daughter Lynne blamed this, and the subsequent lack of work he received, for sending him into a downward spiral. Rayburn portrayed himself on a Saturday Night Live sketch in 1990, which featured Susan Lucci (as her character from All My Children, Erica Kane).

At the conclusion of the final night of competition, Kristen Dalton of North Carolina was crowned by outgoing titleholder Crystle Stewart of Texas. The event was hosted by Billy Bush of Access Hollywood and actress Nadine Velazquez; Bush returned to host the pageant which he last emceed in 2005. He had previously co-hosted Miss USA 2003 with Daisy Fuentes and Miss USA 2004–2005 with Nancy O'Dell.

Marion Joseph "Taps" Miller (July 22, 1915, Indianapolis, Indiana, United States - ?) was an American entertainer, trumpeter, and vocalist. Miller sang and danced in stage revues in New York City from 1932 through the end of the decade, including in the show Blackbirds of 1939. Early in the 1940s he emceed at Kelly's Stables and sat in as a percussionist at Clark Monroe's Uptown House, in addition to singing on a recording by Count Basie in 1945. He joined the USO in 1944 as a sideman for Alberta Hunter, and returned to New York after the war, where he worked with Basie again.

In October 1990 Milić became host and editor-in-chief of the newly established Yutel, Sarajevo-based daily newscast founded and financed by the Federal Executive Council (SIV) under the presidency of Ante Marković. Airing August 29, 1942, on the Blue Network, the program was presented in cooperation with the United States Department of the Treasury, Western Union (which wired bond subscriptions free of charge) and the American Women's Voluntary Services.
In 2015, after a decade planning, Nader founded the American Museum of Tort Law in Winsted, Connecticut. The opening ceremonies were emceed by Phil Donahue. Nader personally donated $150,000 to the establishment of the museum, which was sited on two parcels of land rezoned by the town of Winsted to host it. At the time of its opening, some expressed skepticism that a museum dedicated to tort would have much interest to the general public, though Nader responded that he was "astounded how a country can go over 200 years and not have a law museum".

Hall competed against hundreds in the search for the next Face of MyINDY-TV and became the first woman to win the position. At WNDY-TV in Indianapolis, she covered local events, starred in station PSAs, and interviewed celebrities. She worked as an official MC for the Indiana Pacers' home games for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 NBA seasons. Hall previously emceed for the MiLB's Indianapolis Indians, the WNBA's Indiana Fever, and the 2011 Big Ten Tournament. She also served as the MC for the NCAA Women's Final Four entertainment events, and "Tourney Town" for three years - Indianapolis in 2011, Denver in 2012, and Nashville in 2013.

Singers like Jeffrey Lewis, Roy Zimmerman, Debby Dalton, Kathy Zimmer and Rav Shmuel, blues guitarists Toby Walker and Guy Davis, radical environmentalist Keith Lampke and visual artists like Keith Haring, Art Spiegelman and MacArthur Fellow Ben Katchor, are just a few who have joined the roster of Radio Unnameable guests. Fass reassembled the members of The Lovin' Spoonful on the air, emceed the Phil Ochs Memorial, and flew to Houston to celebrate Jerry Jeff Walker's birthday, which he taped and played on the radio. In the mid-1980s, Fass was nearly homeless.
Barry and Enright's careers went into eclipse after the scandal broke, though Barry did get some hosting and acting gigs and briefly collaborated on projects with game show packager Goodson- Todman Productions. Barry purchased a radio station in Redondo Beach, California, and in 1969 he made his first network comeback as an emcee, replacing Dennis Wholey on a short-lived prime-time game, The Generation Gap on ABC. Two years later he sold his first post-scandal game show, also to ABC, called The Reel Game, which he emceed as well. Slowly, Enright managed to work his way back into television, having to go to Canada to do so.

Recent Honorary chairmen have included Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey, 1978 Formula 1 World Champion Mario Andretti and 2004 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kurt Busch. Autoweek said of the 2019 induction, “Emceed by the best in the business, broadcaster, former driver and 2009 inductee David Hobbs... it was arguably the smoothest, best-run ceremony in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America’s history.” The announcements of each new class of inductees are covered by TV outlets, magazines and websites, including ESPN, Forbes, INDYCAR, Autoweek, and Racer.
On May 17, 2018, the series held its world premiere at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan. On July 23, 2018, Dyllón Burnside emceed a benefit concert, duetting with co-stars Billy Porter and Ryan Jamaal Swain to celebrate the season one finale, and raise money for GLSEN. During the event, a conversation was held between Burnside and former Vibe editor-in-chief Emil Wilbekin, where Burnside discussed his coming out story and spoke about the importance of safe spaces for LGBTQ people. Later on in the evening, Porter sang from his latest album and MJ Rodriguez sang "Waving Through a Window" from Dear Evan Hansen.

One of these evenings was a tribute to actor Roddy McDowall who emceed their evening for the Library's benefactors.
In 1929, as the Great Depression began, struggling film publicist Leo Seltzer (1903–1978) observed that cash prize-awarding dance marathons among out-of-work contestants and spectators were undermining attendance at his Oregon cinema chain, so he sought ways to capitalize on the trend. Seltzer began holding his own dance marathons, dubbed "walkathons" since contestants usually ended up just shuffling around for the duration of the contests, which could run as long as 40 days. Hundreds of unemployed people participated, hoping to win cash prizes. The contests were emceed by celebrities like Frankie Laine and Red Skelton, and grossed $6 millionAbout $ in recent dollars.
In 1977, Bob Hope hosted the Academy's 50th Anniversary banquet in the same room. The Biltmore Theater was situated at the corner of 5th and Grand, now the Biltmore Court & Tower location. Will Rogers emceed the opening of the theater in 1924, which then hosted plays starring luminaries such as Helen Hayes, Katharine Hepburn, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, Bela Lugosi and Mae West until it closed in 1967. The Saturday banquet paid tribute to libertarian pacifist, author, TV/radio broadcaster, and founder of Rampart College, Robert LeFevre, who received the Future of Freedom Award. Another award, the Ludwig von Mises Merit of Honor Award was presented to Dana Rohrabacher, one of the early organizers of the Future of Freedom Conference series.

After numerous attempts to contact JDub Records, including sending a copy of Psych Ward in 2008 as well as inviting them to every big show he booked, in November 2009, Lieberman was contacted by the label, who invited him to sign a multi-album five-year deal. Lieberman always wanted to be on the label, as they had discovered Matisyahu and worked primarily with openly Jewish acts. JDub hosted a Punk Purim party called "Hamanbashin" in February 2010, emceed by Sarah Lewitinn which Steve Lieberman opened for. Seven weeks later on 20 April 2010, JDub Records released the digital version of DiKtatoR 17, being the 27th of only 35 albums released in the label's history.
You Don't Know Jack is a Facebook game application based on the long-running series of trivia games created by Jackbox Games (formerly Jellyvision Games). It was released for public play on Facebook in May 2012 after a beta period. The game builds on the success of the relaunch of the series from the 2011 video game for consoles and personal computers, though has altered some features to work better on the social media platform. The game is presented as a fictional television show, emceed by "Cookie" Masterson; players answer five trivia questions, typically multiple-choice, during each episode, earning virtual money to track their score within the game and in the larger meta- game.
While on the college football beat, Fowler conducted an exclusive interview with former star University of Oklahoma quarterback Charles Thompson, who was in prison at the time on drug charges. He began as host of the College GameDay football road show in 1990 and expanded to ESPN's other Saturday college football segments in 1991. After Charles Woodson won the 1997 Heisman Trophy over Tennessee's Peyton Manning, Tennessee fans blamed ESPN and in particular, Fowler, who had emceed the award ceremony and handed the trophy to Woodson. Fowler received abuse from Tennessee fans (and he described the reaction as "trailer park frenzy" on a radio show), and GameDay avoided shooting on the Tennessee campus for several years that followed.

A silent art auction to support undergraduate students interning at Canadian Literature included pieces donated by Margaret Atwood, Leonard Cohen, Dennis Lee, Thomas King, Patrick Lane, Joni Mitchell, and Fred Wah. Canadian Literature's 60th anniversary was celebrated in 2019 with a reading emceed by the poetry editor, Phinder Dulai, featuring Jordan Abel, Sonnet L’Abbé, Daphne Marlatt, Cecily Nicholson, and Shazia Hafiz Ramji, followed by the awarding of the 60th Anniversary Graduate Student Essay Prize.
WQTE personalities during this time included Tom Clay (who emceed popular dances for the station at Cobo Hall), and Ed McKenzie, best remembered to Detroit audiences as "Jack the Bellboy" on WJBK radio in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Also heard on WQTE during this time was Ralph Binge and Eddie Chase. After a year of competing against WJBK, WXYZ, WKMH and, to a lesser extent, CKLW, for the ears of Detroit's teen audience, WQTE gave up on Top 40 and changed to an Easy Listening/MOR format, becoming a modest success - the Early Morning announcer was Roy Blair who later joined WJBK-TV. Early rock and roll music would once again be heard on AM 560.
Bond received a 2012 Lambda Literary Award for the memoir, Tango: My Childhood Backwards and in High Heels. Also in 2012, powerHouse Books released Susie Says, a picture book combining Gina Garan photos of the 1970s fashion doll, Susie Sad Eyes, with bon mots from Bond's Twitter account. In the summer of 2014, Bond curated and emceed a cabaret season at the Spiegeltent at the Bard SummerScape Festival in the Hudson Valley, NY. Bond is set to reprise this emcee role in summer 2015, with guests including Alan Cumming, Suzanne Vega, Martha Wainwright, Stephen Merritt, and Lea Delaria. During the 2020 pandemic quarantine Bond performed weekly House of Whimsy livestream concerts as Auntie Glam.
The success of The Coin Vault (hosted by Robert Chambers for nearly 20 years) allowed the network to branch out into shows that featured other collectible items during the 1990s, thus setting SAH apart from its peers. Most shopping networks, like QVC and HSN, targeted a predominantly female audience, while SAH's collectible-themed shows attracted a mostly male audience. The company grew into a major retailer of men's memorabilia and collectibles. Popular shows during the 1990s and early 2000s also included The Knife Collector's Show, co-hosted for most of its run by Shawn Leflar and former SAH personality Tom O'Dell, and the Sports Collectibles show, emceed by Don West for a majority of its run.
Techapella is an annual showcase of a cappella music hosted by members of tech companies in Silicon Valley, California. The event was started in 2013 by Laolee Xiong and Aaron Roan, founders of Facebook's The Vocal Network and Google's Googapella, respectively. The event has been emceed by a cappella personality and Sing-Off producer Deke Sharon, and is used as a fundraiser for local charities Music for Minors and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Participating groups have included Googapella and Alphabeat (made up of Google employees), The Vocal Network (Facebook), The Pintunes (Pinterest), InTune (LinkedIn), Songbirds (Twitter), The Square Registers (Square), Syncopation (Dropbox), Airbnbeats (Airbnb), The Keynotes (Apple), The Chromotones (23andMe), and Scalesforce (Salesforce).
In July 1965, the group recorded nine songs at IGL, one of which was Storey's take on "Peter Rabbit". In January 1966, the group was playing for a dance in Jefferson, IA which was emceed by Jim Michaels, a dee-jay at one of central Iowa's AM Top 40 stations at the time - KIOA. At one point in the evening Michaels played the group's 45 of the song and got a favorable reaction from the crowd. Michaels told the band he would add the 45 to the station's rotation for 3 weeks, if it generated a good response he would keep it on; if not, it would be removed from the playlist.
Aslam at launch of Sur Kshetra Aslam appeared as the captain of Team Pakistan in a singing talent show called Sur Kshetra which was shot and broadcast from Dubai, where Indian and Pakistani contestants competed against each other. At the end of the show, Nabeel Shaukat Ali from Atif's team won the contest. On 19 April 2017, he hosted the 16th Lux Style Awards ceremony, and it was the first time he was seen hosting the ceremony of Lux Style Awards. He along with Meesha Shafi, Fawad Khan and Shahi Hasan was also on the judge panel of a nationwide talent show Pepsi Battle of the Bands; emceed by PepsiCo Pakistan from July to September 2017.
Union Governing Board (UGB) held their first meeting on March 15, 1955, one year prior to the opening of the Union. In December 1955, Union Program Council (UPC) was created and was composed of 114 students. On March 8, 1956, after many years of hard work and deliberation, the K-State Student Union finally opened. The original building consisted of . and cost $1.65 million. The Grand Opening theme was “Night at the Circus.” As part of the grand opening banquet, there was a student variety show emceed by K-State student, Gordon Jump (The Maytag Repairman and WKRP). The K-State Student Union assumes the responsibility for the campus’s vending program in October 1960.
There was controversy over the inclusion in the All-Century Team of Pete Rose, who had been banned from baseball for life 10 years earlier. Some questioned Rose's presence on a team officially endorsed by Major League Baseball, but fans at the stadium gave him a standing ovation. As a so-called provinciano ("provincial person", that is, an implication of backwardness regarding the social graces of urban life), Chávez was prima facie regarded by his peers as both polite and shy. However, by the time he had graduated, Chávez had emceed a beauty contest as well as taken charge of his own obscure radio program. As a young man, Chávez had two girlfriends, who were considered by other students as unattractive.
A Spoonful of Sherman is a musical revue which premiered on January 6, 2014 at the St. James Theatre in London and which is currently poised for its first UK/Ireland tour. Originally produced, written and emceed by Robert J. Sherman, A Spoonful of Sherman first served as the UK book launch for Sherman's father's (posthumously released) autobiography: Moose: Chapters From My Life for which Sherman was also the book's editor. After each performance of that original run, Sherman participated in a book signing after the show. The show was billed as "A Celebration of the Life, Times and Songs of Robert B. Sherman" and was received extremely well by the crowd and the critics alike.
Following multiple collaborations, the sense of community involvement, DIY spirit, and willingness to experiment led to The Need's creation of The Transfused, a full-length rock opera, co-written with Lamm. Twelve months in the making, with an original score by Carns and Sloan, a cast of twenty-five, a full backing band, $40,000 in grassroots fundraising, months of rehearsals, and hundreds of volunteers, The Transfused sold out its two- week run at Olympia's Capitol Theater in summer 2000. An album featuring music from the production was released on Yoyo Recordings. The first-ever Ladyfest took place in Olympia later that year; Carns organized and emceed the punk cabaret-style Dude-Looks-Like-A-Lady drag show.
Jennifer Rudolph Walsh is a board member at the talent agency WME and runs the agency's worldwide literary, speakers, and conference divisions. Walsh's department publishes over 200 books a year, half of those landing on The New York Times Best Seller list. Walsh launched a conference department in 2014, WME Live, which is responsible for creating national conferences for Oprah Winfrey with ‘The Life You Want’ Tour, Arianna Huffington's ‘Thrive', and Cosmopolitan Magazine’s ‘Fun Fearless Life’. She created Together Live in 2016, a touring event emceed by Walsh that brings an array of thought leaders, social activists, athletes, and celebrity guests to cities across the country for a night of inspired talks, interviews, and interactive conversation centered on finding purpose and getting into social action.

Soon after, Sloan relocated to Los Angeles; The Need added a new bass player, Dvin Kirakosian, and for a while Carns spent alternate months in Olympia and LA. Their final album, prophetically titled The Need Is Dead, had been released in 2000; the band broke up within a year.

Other such events included IIHF World Championships, Spengler Cups, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He also did voice- over work for the International Ice Hockey Federation, did play-by-play commentary for the Champions Hockey League in 2008–09, and emceed the 2012 Hockey Forum in Barcelona and the draw of the re-launched CHL in 2014 in Minsk. By the early 2010s, Romanuk and his wife moved to West London while she also switched from a marketing executive job at Coca-Cola to one with L'Oréal.

In addition, he hosted movies on KTTV, and played small roles in a handful of films, including Jerry Lewis's The Patsy (1964). During World War II Leyden served in the Marine Corps. After returning to Chicago following the war, Leyden worked as a NBC page while getting a degree in Archaeology from DePaul University .
Incorporated in 1975, the Loft started in a bookstore when a group of writers decided to offer classes and readings in the upstairs loft. Following a series of successful events held at Rusoff & Co. Book Dealers in Dinkytown, Minnesota, bookstore owner Marly Rusoff and writers Jim Moore, Patricia Hampl, Phebe Hanson, and Michael Dennis Browne formed a ‘poets’ club’ with support from a fundraising party emceed by Garrison Keillor. This ‘poets’ club’ eventually became known as ‘The Loft,’ and in 1975 filed for nonprofit status and received a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board to sponsor several writing workshops. Over the next two years, the Loft hosted a number of benefit readings that featured poets such as Allen Ginsberg, Robert Bly, and Etheridge Knight.

He explained in his memoir, Life Itself, that he "would never marry before [his] mother died," as he was afraid of displeasing her. In a July 2012 blog entry titled "Roger loves Chaz," Ebert wrote, "She fills my horizon, she is the great fact of my life, she has my love, she saved me from the fate of living out my life alone, which is where I seemed to be heading." Chaz Ebert is now vice president of the Ebert Company and has emceed Ebertfest.
In August 2005, it was announced that Seacrest would become executive producer and co-host of ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. On December 31, 2005, Seacrest performed much of the show's hosting duties. Dick Clark's role was limited by speech and mobility issues due to his recovery from a stroke. Coco Nutwork is a balding middle-aged executive, "Vice President in Charge of Everything" of CCN-TV, the TV studio that sponsored the Big TV Bake- Off. Billed as "The One-Man Network", Coco operated the cameras, ran the production booth, was the entire orchestra, did voice-over announcements, emceed, and even dressed in drag as a lovely spokes-model. Good-natured but weak-minded, Coco befell hypnotism and mind-control at the fiendish hands of The Purple Pie Man, but came to upon tasting the actual entries in the Bake- Off. Despite expressing an interest in giving up the "Brat Race" and relocating to Strawberryland, and even giving up his job(s) at the TV Station, Coco Nutwork was NOT seen accompanying Strawberry Shortcake and her new friends back home in the closing scene of the Special.

While at CAP21, Burnside starred in the Tupac-inspired musical Holler if Ya Hear Me on Broadway in 2014, where he played Anthony. Since 1994, he has owned and is operating a music production and promotion company “Blue Note Agencja Artystyczna” (Blue Note Artistic Agency) that organizes concerts and festivals and produces recordings of CDs. Two of his albums received Gold Record status:” Straszni Panowie Trzej” (“The Three, Terribly Gentle Men”) and “Pogadaj Ze Mną” (“Talk to Me”) (both in 2009).
