Eremophila veneta is a spreading, aromatic, glabrous shrub which grows to a height of between . It is sticky, due to the presence of resin on its branches, leaves and sepals. Its branches are covered with small raised, resin glands and the resin dries yellow and eventually becomes flaky. The leaves are arranged alternately along the branches and are thick, mostly lance-shaped, long, wide and often have a few teeth on their edges, near the end.

It is a low wing monoplane constructed largely of composites, with foam filled GRP surfaces and GRP/carbon fibre wing spars. Although not yet implemented, researchers suggest that protecting frequently attacked trees is important. One way to do this is by binding the trunks with vinyl sheets which will prevent the beetle from boring into trees and transmitting the fungus. Researchers understand that not all trees should be protected but those with a high probability of being attacked should be. Trees from the family Fagaceae that have a larger DBH, are in clumps, and are on edges near excess light should be included in the protection plan.

Victorian font The font is Victorian, but the wooden cover incorporates a 15th-century carved poppy head as a finial and parts of a screen around the edges. Near to the font is a 13th-century stone coffin lid, with a raised cross, that was found in the churchyard. The reredos to the War Memorial Chapel in the south aisle, is by Eleanor Gribble of Ipswich, in a pre-Raphaelite style using medieval gesso techniques. The centre panel shows the Adoration of the Magi, on the outer panels are the angels of Self- Sacrifice, Fortitude, Victory and Peace.

In August 2008, a team of computer scientists at UCSD published a scalable design for network architecture that uses a topology inspired by the fat tree topology to realize networks that scale better than those of previous hierarchical networks. The architecture uses commodity switches that are cheaper and more power-efficient than high-end modular data center switches.
