Not when Mr. Sedaris wrote "Christ died for you" in one woman's book ("I teach high school students," she said, "nothing offends me"); or when in another's book he drew a picture of a three-legged bear with blood spewing from its stump because, he said, it had stepped on a land mine; or when he wrote "you will not be alone forever" in the book of a fan who said she was single.

If this president truly believes, as he disdainfully tweeted this morning, that the new official death toll in Puerto Rico of close to 3,000 Americans is something that "was done by the Democrats" to make him look bad, and that the numbers were padded with people who died "for any reason," then this president may very well be the cause of additional deaths if he is unwilling and unable to learn the lessons of the post-Maria debacle.

I&aposm supposed to tune into a football game and watch a bunch of people that make a lot of money making a statement, not the Eagles in this particular case but they made a political statement as it relates to the White House really announced they&aposre going to hide in the locker room while the flag is waving and we&aposre honoring men and women that fought, bled and died for their country fighting for under that flag.

Temple commemorates those who were murdered or died for their "sins," among them Harvey Milk, California's first openly gay politician, elected to San Francisco's Board of Supervisors and gunned down in its City Hall; Brandon Teena, a transgender man in Nebraska whose life and death—raped, strangled, and dumped in the trunk of a car in 1993—was turned into the movie, Boys Don't Cry; and Alan Turing, the brilliant computer scientist and codebreaker who helped Britain to win the war, but would be rewarded for his service with an arrest on charges of "gross indecency" in 1952, and who avoided imprisonment only by accepting hormone treatments which destroyed his libido, and mysteriously died just two years later from cyanide poisoning.
