Phillip Thomas's own evocation of grandiose Old Mastery (particularly, and fittingly, from France) seems to juxtapose a seemingly white-aspiring post-colonial Black bourgeoisie against a literal wallpapered backdrop of Black suffering, with silhouetted detailings of white militarism and hanging Black bodies alongside depictions of white leisure.

The designer is known for his minimalism and understated design aesthetics with a sharp eye for detailings. Pratap's exploration with fabric texturing and most prominently his creative usage of pin tucks has almost become synonymous to the label. The key to his work lies in simplicity, clean cuts and flawless detailings. The designer's belief in silence is reflected in the name of his pret line RIP (Rest in Peace).

As a late example of Italianate the T. Goings Building lacks the elaborate window detailings of the district's other Italianate structures. Despite this, the building does have elaborate cornices. The wood cornices have brackets set atop brick piers, with finials atop. They are constructed of clapboard with the brackets and organic appliques in between the piers.

In addition to chateauesque elements found on most grand railway hotels, Hotel Vancouver also incorporates Renaissance architectural detailings, gargoyles, and relief sculptures. Its 14th-century French Gothic detailings were consistent with the church's architecture. alt=The church shown previously with the sidewalk covered and screens and scaffolding along either side. The school building quickly outgrew its intended design, and a new one was built over it in 1948. Architects Elliott Chisling-Ferenz & Taylor designed a building with sympathetic Gothic motifs that help it blend into the older buildings.

Alfa Romeo 164 production ceased after 10 years. Its successor was the 166 saloon the following year. Fiat facelifted the Cinquecento city car after six years on sale and gave it a new name – Seicento. The Seicento was a reworking of its predecessor with curvier detailings, and with the standard 700cc engine being dropped and the continuing 900cc unit being available with "Citymatic" semi-automatic transmission – with a normal manual-style gear-lever but no clutch.

Binne was born at Kingscavil, by Linlithgow. From 1904 he was articled to architect Robert Bryden in Glasgow, moving to John James Burnet's office after Bryden's death in 1906. Between 1908 and 1910 Binnie studied at the Glasgow School of Art, where he was awarded a gold medal and a travel scholarship, which he used to spend a year Italy. In 1910 he moved to New York City to work at Warren & Wetmore, where amongst other buildings, he worked on some of the detailings of the interior of Grand Central Station.

"Rosewell was the largest and most advanced brick building in Virginia at the time," writes architectural historian Daniel Drake Reiff. "It was unique in being of London townhouse design, and it seems likely that a London bricklayer was brought over to supervise the massive undertaking and to execute the more complicated detailings in brick - like the door casings." The similarity in Flemish bond brickwork between Rosewell and Christ Church built by Page's father-in-law, Robert Carter, in Lancaster County has led some to speculate that the same masons might have worked on both. The home was also the first in the American colonies to have a projecting central pavilion, "antedating any other by a score of years," wrote architectural historian Fiske Kimball in Domestic Architecture of the American Colonies and of the Early Republic.
