Maul anticipates Satine's contacting the Jedi Council as part of his plan to get Obi-Wan to Mandalore. Once Obi-Wan arrives, Maul captures him and murders Satine in front of him, hoping to make the Jedi suffer as much as he once did.
The library also holds the undergraduate thesis of T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), entitled "The Influence of the Crusades on European Military Architecture to the end of XIIth Century". The college launched a restoration appeal in 2007 for work that was anticipated to cost £700,000. The roof was leaking, the floorboards had been affected by dry rot and death watch beetle, and new heating and ultra-violet light controls were needed to help preserve the books. The work to remedy these problems, and others, was completed in 2008.
The London Encyclopaedia Hibbert, C.; Weinreb, D.; Keay, J.: London, Pan Macmillan, 1983 (rev 1993,2008) It did not explode, but was removed to Hackney Marshes and detonated. The buildings surrounding St. James were destroyed by incendiary bombs and this caused much external damage to the church, including the destruction of its clock. While this damage was being repaired in 1953, it was found that the woodwork was infested with the death watch beetle. This caused the church to be closed until 1963, while it was being restored by D. Lockhart-Smith and Alexander Gale.
In 1862 a west clock tower was added which was designed by W. P. Coxon, the Borough Surveyor; the tower belongs to the town rather than to the church. In 1974 the south aisle was re-designed to form the Garven Room, a servery, a vestry and toilets. By the 1970s the roof had been damaged by wet and dry rot, woodworm and death watch beetle and was replaced in 1978–79. By 1990 the pipe organ was beyond repair and it has been replaced by a Makin electronic organ.

The backstory of the Mandalorians was first extensively explored in issues of Marvel Comics' original Star Wars series and various other Legends media, including comics by Dark Horse and video games by LucasArts. Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) introduces bounty hunter Jango Fett, who also wore Mandalorian armor, and was the clone source of his adopted son Boba. More spin-off material explored Mandalorian lore, including the violent Death Watch sect. Following the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney, in 2014, most existing spin-off material was declared non-canon.
Levin's brief was to write two columns a week (later three) on any subject that he wished. Louisiana State Penitentiary, where Martin was confined and executed Martin and three other inmates on death row attempted an escape but were recaptured before being able to flee the prison grounds. After being overheard planning another escape which involved taking hostages and ramming a car through the prison's main gate, Martin was moved to the Death Watch cell near the execution chamber, a month before his execution. This was done for security purposes, as the execution building was situated further back from the main gate than the Death Row unit.
A typical C-shaped larva of a beetle in the superfamily Bostrichoidea A typical straight larva of a beetle in the family Cerambycidae, unrelated to the Bostrichoidea Powderpost beetles are a group of seventy species of woodboring beetles classified in the insect subfamily Lyctinae. These beetles, along with spider beetles, death watch beetles, common furniture beetles, skin beetles, and others, make up the superfamily Bostrichoidea. Maxwell-Lefroy moved to live initially in Strawberry Hill, and later Acton Lodge in Isleworth close to his workplace in South Kensington. In the early days, he used a motorbike with a sidecar to travel about. In 1913-1914, Lefroy was consulted by Frank Baines, Principal Architect of the Office of Works, to study ways of exterminating death watch beetles that had been found in Westminster Hall, beside England's Houses of Parliament. He began to try out various chemicals and finally came up with a 50% dichlorobenzene, 47% mineral oil and 3% barium oleate mixture to brush the wood with.
Among Levin's many topics – top Eldridge Cleaver, Wagner; below Field Marshal Montgomery and a Death watch beetle Among the perquisites of the Times appointment were a company car and a large and splendid office at the paper's building in Printing House Square, London. Levin accepted neither; he could not drive and he hated to be isolated. He commandeered a desk in the anteroom to the editor's office, a location that kept him closely in touch with the daily affairs of the paper. It also gave him ready access to the editor, William Rees Mogg, with whom he developed a good friendship.

The glass-enclosed central stacks (not accessible to the public) can be flooded with a mix of Halon 1301 and Inergen fire suppressant gas if fire detectors are triggered. A previous system using carbon dioxide was removed for personnel safety reasons. After an infestation of the death watch beetle was discovered in 1977, the Beinecke Library helped pioneer the non-toxic method of controlling paper- eating pests by freezing books and documents at for three days.
In 1972, the shingles on the spire were found to need replacement again, and a death watch beetle infestation was found. The weather vane was also found to be dangerous and had to be removed temporarily. Repairs were carried out, but on 1 May 1980 another fire broke out; it was so severe that the spire toppled from the tower after just 15 minutes. A replica was made in two parts at Littlehampton and reassembled on top of the tower in February 1981; the only change, insisted on by the church's insurers, was the insertion of larger louvres to provide easier access from the top of the tower to the spire.
The Tomb guards stood at death watch for the entire day as thousands of people braved the dreary weather to pay their respects to the Vietnam Unknown in May 1984. The presidential wreath was brought forward toward President Reagan during the interment ceremony for the Unknown Serviceman of the Vietnam Era at the Tomb of the Unknowns on May 28, 1984. Dedicated during the 1999 National POW/MIA Recognition Day, the inscription on the empty crypt of the Vietnam Unknown now reads "Honoring and Keeping Faith with America's Missing Servicemen 1958–1975". The Vietnam Unknown service member was originally designated by Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj.
While Maul and Savage are in the process of retreating, Hondo's crew open fire at them and shoot off one of Maul's robotic legs. Maul's ship is blasted by a missile as it attempts to take flight, but Maul and Savage manage to escape using one of the emergency pods. After several days, they are found floating in dead space and close to death by the Mandalorian Death Watch warriors, led by Pre Vizsla. They are taken back to Vizsla's settlement, and Maul's damaged cybernetic legs are replaced with a new prosthetic that resembles a more humanoid form, while Savage is fitted with a mechanical arm.

An unpleasant incident occurred during this period with leading German film director Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who wanted to cast her as the lead in his film The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979). Negotiations broke down when he called Schneider a "dumb cow", to which she responded by declaring she would never work with such a "beast". Fassbinder cast Hanna Schygulla instead, reviving his professional association with an actress to whom he had also been offensive. Schneider starred in Bertrand Tavernier's Death Watch (La mort en direct, 1980), playing a dying woman whose last days are watched on national television via a camera implanted in the brain of a journalist (Harvey Keitel).
The castle site is now approximately across. As of 2015, the derelict, roofless parts of the castle are in a poor structural condition and infested with ivy, with other parts suffering from death watch beetle.; None of the earthworks or curtain wall survive, except for a small portion next to the gateway; this fragment of wall is thick and shows the original bank to have been as much as high when viewed from the outside, but is now in danger of collapse.; The wooden door on the left side of the gateway probably dates from around 1300, and the right door from the early-17th century, but they are currently unusable.
Countess Ursa Wren (voiced by Sharmila Devar) is Sabine Wren's mother and the current leader of Clan Wren. A former member of the Mandalorian group known as Death Watch, she was later forced to side with the Empire after Sabine created a weapon that the Empire then turned on their own people. The Company was founded in 1925 by Harold Maxwell-Lefroy, Professor of entomology at Imperial College, London, who had been investigating ways to kill death watch beetles that had infested Westminster Hall in the Palace of Westminster. Lefroy and his assistant produced an anti-woodworm fluid called Ento-Kill Fluids ("ento" coming from the Greek word for insect, ἔντομον entomon). That year he tried to register the name Entokill, but due to existing trademarks, he chose Rentokil instead, and this became the name of his company, Rentokil Ltd. On 14 October 1925, Lefroy was killed in a laboratory when an experiment produced poisonous fumes.

The plan falls through when Duchess Satine Kryze (Anna Graves) of Mandalore urges the Galactic Senate to hold off a military force. In the third season, Dooku is forced to eliminate his apprentice Ventress to prove his loyalty to Darth Sidious.

After defeating Maul and killing his brother Savage Opress, Sidious takes him to a Separatist prison, where Count Dooku tortures him for information about the Shadow Collective. Prime Minister Almec of Mandalore arranges Maul's escape and the latter then heads back to Zanbar to command the Death Watch army.

Between 1988 and 1990 the health care company carried out structural repairs to deal with damage caused by dry rot and the death watch beetle. The ground and top floors of the house, and the wings, have been converted into nursing accommodation, leaving the appearance of the exterior virtually unchanged. In 1990 the first floor was opened to the public under the care of the Tabley House Collection Trust.

This can be great — I'll defend Shrek 2 over the original any day — but the result usually ends up feeling a little thin. This week's Brooklyn Nine-Nine attempted to cap off last year's excellent 'Halloween' with a cheeky follow-up, but, with the same plots, and nearly the same conclusion, 'Halloween II' emphasized the show's weaknesses." Allie Pape from Vulture gave the show a 4 star rating out of 5 and wrote, "I've already come out strongly in favor of Brooklyn Nine-Nines all-cast-antics episodes, particularly when it comes to reprising one of my favorites, last year's Halloween team-up to steal Holt's Medal of Valor. This year, the quarry was his watch, a gift from Kevin Cozner's dying father (but please don't call it the 'death watch').
As well as a 1966 episisode titled Death Watch, as a bounty hunter, he appeared in a 1967 episode of Gunsmoke as a killer who comes to an ironic end. A number of memorials to the war were added to the cathedral, notably the painting The Passing of Eleanor by Frank Salisbury (stolen 1973) and the reglazing of the main west window, dedicated in 1925. Following the Enabling Act of 1919, control of the buildings passed to a Parochial Church Council (replaced by the Cathedral Council in 1968), who appointed the woodwork specialist John Rogers as Architect and Surveyor of the Fabric. He uncovered extensive death watch beetle damage in the presbytery vault and oversaw the repair (1930–31). He had four tons of rubbish removed from the crossing tower and the main timbers reinforced (1931–32), and invested in the extensive use of insecticide throughout the wood structures. In 1934, the eight bells were overhauled and four new bells added to be used in the celebration of George V's silver jubilee.

Bo-Katan Kryze (voiced by Katee Sackhoff) is a former member of the Mandalorian group known as Death Watch during the Clone Wars, opposing the ideals of her sister Duchess Satine under Pre Vizsla until he was usurped by Darth Maul and forming the Nite Owls to oppose him. A year later, once Maul was driven off Mandalore, Kryze briefly became Regent of Mandalore until her refusal to follow the newly appointed Emperor Palpatine resulted with Clan Saxon being placed in power. Siding with Clan Wren during the Mandalorian Civil War, believing that she had lost the right, she accepted the Darksaber from Sabine to lead their people once more as Mandalor after Sabine and their people convinced her that there was no other that could do it better. Sackhoff will reportedly reprise her role in the second season of The Mandalorian.
It is possible that this essay influenced Edgar Allan Poe's 1843 short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" and that the sound the protagonist was hearing at the end of that story was that of a beetle tapping inside the wall, not the beating of the (dead) victim's heart. However, it is more likely that it was the metronomic ticking of a booklouse rather than the groups of six to eight taps made by the deathwatch beetle. The beetle was referenced in Mark Twain's 1876 The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: "Next the ghastly ticking of a deathwatch in the wall at the bed's head made Tom shudder – it meant that somebody's days were numbered." In Dorothy L. Sayers' Gaudy Night (chapter 17), the mechanism of the ticking of the death-watch beetle is discussed, and it is compared with a clicking sound made by an ill-fitting hard shirt front.
After his escape from the Separatists with the Death Watch's help and the downfall of his criminal empire (as depicted in the novel Son of Dathomir), Maul returns to ruling Mandalore and manages to rebuild the Shadow Collective, albeit not as powerful as before, this time consisting of the Pyke Syndicate, the Black Sun, and the Crimson Dawn, led by Dryden Vos. He serves as the main antagonist of the first half of the "Siege of Mandalore" story-arc (set during Revenge of the Sith), where he and his forces find themselves under siege by Bo-Katan's Death Watch faction, and part of the 501st Clone Legion, led by former Jedi Ahsoka Tano and Commander Rex. During a confrontation with Ahsoka, Maul reveals that he had hoped for Kenobi to come instead, and mentions Darth Sidious, before escaping. He later sends his Shadow Collective lieutenants into hiding, warning them of the Galactic Empire that is about to be created, and has another confrontation with Ahsoka in his throne room, where he warns her about the rise of the Empire as well and proposes that they join forces to try and stop Sidious.
In October 1776 the Friend contracted a disease, most likely typhus, and was bedridden and near death with a high fever. The Friend's family summoned a doctor from Attleboro, six miles away, and neighbors kept up a death-watch at night. The fever broke after several days. The Friend then reported having died and received revelations from God through two archangels who proclaimed there was "Room, Room, Room, in the many Mansions of eternal glory for Thee and for everyone"Wisbey (p. 12) notes that a brother recalled the future preacher saying "There is Room Enough" at the time of the illness. and said their soul had ascended to heaven and the body had been reanimated with a new spirit charged by God with preaching his word, that of the "Publick Universal Friend",Douglas L.
