In the years during Lindsays' catatonia, the expansion of settlements throughout the Solar System has seen an economy in huge surplus; with abundant wealth, expensive and prolonged terraforming efforts are first being considered. While Wellspring seeks to terraform Mars, Lindsay attempts to create an abyssal ecology on Europa. Constantine's Shaper family has been disgraced by Constantine's defeat, and Lindsay manages to convert them to his cause, even Constantine's "daughter" Vera (created from DNA taken from Vera Kelland decades before). As time goes on, eventually Czarina-Kluster, in its turn, faces social collapse.
Another large group of Germans who immigrated to Paraguay are Russian Mennonites, Germans who immigrated to Russia under the rule of the ethnic German Czarina Catherine the Great. The Paraguayan Mennonite community left Russia in two waves: the first in the 19th century when their exemption from military service ended, and the second to avoid Stalin's collectivization programs. Russian Mennonites are different from another German-Russian group, the Volga Germans, through religion and reasons of immigrating to Russia. Russian Mennonites are religious Mennonites while the Volga Germans are religious Lutherans and Roman Catholics.
The three divisions of Poland (first in 1772, then in 1793, and finally in 1795) left the Aryan part of the Polish Jewry under the authority of the Russian Empire. The Russian government turned out to be less tolerant towards Jews, and more restrictions were imposed on Jews than the rest of the Polish people. In 1791 Czarina Yekaterina the Great established the region of the Settlement (the 'Moshav') in the western fringes of the empire, where only Jews were allowed to live. The Moshav included most of the former territories of Poland and Lithuania, which were populated by concentrations of Jews.
Rafail's photos are the first to show images of sitters in naturalistic poses, soft lighting, within naturalistic backgrounds, and expressing real sentiments like joy and laughter or tenderness as in the photo of Czarina Alexandra with Olga and Maria (1899). Compare similar photos of the day where sitters stood as straight as soldiers and looked out at the viewer like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car and one will instantly see why the Levitsky studio was miles ahead of its competitors and why being an artist was so important to the early development of photography.
In this way, Sorokin inverts the key symbolism of Krasnov's book, turning Russia into the male zmei gorynych and the innocent girl becomes the West. The sort of power that is depicted in Day of the Oprichnik is a specifically a masculine power as the Oprichnina is presented as all male "brotherhood" and the language that is evoked to describe power is a masculine language. Women appear in Day of the Oprichnik only as rape victims, entertainers or sex objects as the unpopular czarina becomes popular because of her "mesmerizing" breasts. Dobrynya Nikitich rescues Princess Zabava from the Zmey Gorynych, by Ivan Bilibin.

In 1868 the Czarina of Russia Maria Alexandrovna visited Berg upon the King's invitation. Ludwig made it her residence for the duration of her visit and had it magnificently decorated for the occasion, as the site was otherwise rather modestly appointed by Ludwig's standards. The surrounding park was fashioned and cultivated by his predecessors according to contemporary ideas of garden design, from a formal Baroque garden to an English landscape garden. Ludwig had the Moorish Kiosk set up here which Franz von Seitz had designed and built for the Winter Garden on the roof of the Munich Residenz.
After his term as Governor, he was succeeded by his wife Czarina Domingo-Umali for one term. He had his attempt to come back as a Congressman of the province's 3rd district but lost to neophyte politician Rosanna "Ria" Vergara. Umali successfully returned to government after being elected again as provincial governor in the last 2019 mid-term elections despite of the dismissal and perpetual disqualification from the Office of the Ombudsman. In 2016, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales found Umali guilty on the 4 counts of graft and 3 counts of malversation for the alleged misuse of his PDAF in 2005.

According to Serbian poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić, descendant of Sava's either half- brother or first cousin Duka (whence the eponymic family name Dučić), "Sava Vladislavich occupied a distinguished position among Russian diplomats in the eighteenth century. During two and a half decades, he took part in all important events of the Russian empire as a legate of the Czar (Peter the Great) and Czarina (Catherine I of Russia)." The fortress of Troitsko Savsk (see Kyakhta) was named after him at the time when he was negotiating a second treaty in 1727 between Russia and China.
Rose Island The rose garden and casino Rose Island in Lake Starnberg is the only island in the lake and site of a royal villa of King Ludwig II of Bavaria which had been commissioned by his father. He was particularly attached to this place and made frequent renovations and remodelings of the small garden and the villa, which is called casino. Guests on the island were the composer Richard Wagner, his close friend Prince Paul of Thurn and Taxis, Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Czarina Maria Alexandrovna of Russia. The villa is today a small museum, open to the general public.
A New York Times article in 1901 claimed that Amalia Küssner Coudert was "meeting with great success" in London, but, for the most part, her career dwindled and eventually ended after her marriage. Küssner duPont Coudert's most notable work after 1900 included a return trip to Russia in 1902 to paint a second miniature portrait of Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna. After returning to England, she painted a miniature portrait in 1903 of Alice Keppel, the mistress of the King Edward VII. In 1904, Küssner Coudert was involved in a lawsuit in London with Ada Watney regarding payment for a miniature portrait.
All events are recorded in Harker's journal, which later serves his friends as a report about the vampire and as a travel guide. After Lucy Westenra, Mina Murray's old school friend, has died from a mysterious illness, Professor Abraham Van Helsing visits Mina and reads the diary, which he confirms to be a realistic account of the unbelievable circumstances Jonathan was confronted with. In the final chapters, the vampire hunters chase the Count, who returns to his homeland by ship. Dracula tricks them by directing the vessel to Galatz, while Van Helsing and his friends are waiting for the Czarina Catherine to show up in Varna.
Princess Catherine Radziwiłł with a red ribbon around her neck, by Giovanni Boldini In 1884, Nouvelle Revue published a series of articles written as letters to a young diplomat by the elderly Count Paul Vasili. The articles were critical of Berlin society and full of damaging gossip about the imperial court. The publication of the articles, collected in the book Berlin Society, created a great scandal at the court. Count Paul Vasili was a fictional character and a subsequent investigation indicated Auguste Gérard, the empress' French reader, as the author. Only in 1918 in her book Confessions of the Czarina, Radziwill admitted that she was the author of Berlin Society.
Bernstorff was one of the first to recognize the impotence of the French monarchy after the Seven Years' War, and in 1763 he considered it expedient to exchange the French for the Russian alliance, which was cemented by the treaty of the 28 April 1765. This compact engaged Denmark to join with Russia in upholding the existing Swedish constitution, in return for which Czarina Catherine II agreed to resolve the Gottorp Question by the cession of the Gottorp portion of Holstein in exchange for the counties of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, an exchange realized in the 1773 Treaty of Tsarskoye Selo. For his part in this treaty Bernstorff was created count.
Lindsay escapes to the Mechanist cartels in the asteroid belt, where Kitsune has again secretly taken power. There Lindsay works ceaselessly for decades to bring about the détente he believes will reunite him with Mavrides. Using a recording of an Investor's ship queen involved in some taboo activities to blackmail the alien, Lindsay contributes to the creation of Czarina-Kluster, neither Shaper nor Mechanist, which quickly becomes one of the richest and most powerful states in the solar system. Lindsay's partner, Wellspring, plans to use the colony to promote his post-humanist ideology, while Lindsay himself seeks to bring Nora to the new colony.
The highly fictionalized story takes place in the Russian Empire during the last years of the reign of Czar Nicholas II (Ralph Morgan) and the Czarina Alexandra (Ethel Barrymore). Reform-minded Prince Paul (John Barrymore) has long been concerned about the plight of the common people and knows a revolution is brewing. Prince Alexei, heir to the throne, is loved by the people but has hemophilia, and a slight fall turns out to be life- threatening. When royal physician Dr. Remezov (Edward Arnold) is powerless to stop the boy's bleeding, Princess Natasha (Diana Wynyard), Alexandra's lady- in-waiting and Paul's fiancee, recommends Rasputin (Lionel Barrymore) as a healer.
The impetus for making the film was Irving Thalberg's discovery that the studio already owned the rights to Alfred Klabund's 1927 novel Rasputin. In June 1932 M-G-M had announced that the three Barrymores would star in the movie.Mark A. This film marked Ethel Barrymore's sound film debut and is the earliest known recording of her famous voice.
Amalia Küssner Coudert (March 26, 1863 – May 1932) was an American artist from Terre Haute, Indiana, who is best known for her portrait miniatures of prominent American and European figures of the late 19th and early 20th century. Subjects for her paintings include actresses Lillian Russell and Marie Tempest; wealthy socialites Caroline Schermerhorn Astor, Emily Havemeyer (the wife of Theodore Havemeyer); members of Britain's royal family and London society such as King Edward VII, Alice Keppel, and Consuelo Vanderbilt, the Duchess of Marlborough; as well as members of the Russian royal family, including Czar Nicholas II and his wife, Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna; and wealthy industrialists such as Cecil Rhodes.
In 1760 he returned to Geneva, and became professor of history in his native city. While there he was requested by the czarina to undertake the education of the heir-apparent of Russia (afterwards the Czar Paul I), but declined. A more appealing invitation led to his accompanying Lord Mountstuart in his travels through Italy and thence to England, where Mallet was presented at court and commissioned to write the history of the house of Brunswick. He had previously received similar commission from the landgrave of Hesse-Kassel (or Hesse-Cassel) for the reparation of a history of the house of Hesse, and both works were completed in 1785.
Czarina Catherine Ramos Gatbonton was crowned Binibining Pilipinas World by Marie-Ann Umali, Binibining Pilipinas World 2009; and Krista Eileen Arrieta Kleiner was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International by Melody Adelheid Gersbach, Binibining Pilipinas International 2009. Completing the winners were, Dianne Elaine Samar Necio, first runner-up and Helen Nicolette Mercado Henson, second runner-up. Due to issues with her papers, Maria Venus Raj was briefly replaced by second runner-up Helen Nicolette Henson as the country's representative to the 2010 Miss Universe pageant. This decision was later reversed on April 10, 2010, when pageant organizers allowed Ms. Raj to reclaim her title pending her obtaining a valid Philippine passport.
Catherine (Tallulah Bankhead) discards her latest lover, Variatinsky (Donald Douglas), the commander of the palace guard. General Ronsky (Sig Ruman) schemes to have his oafish nephew Boris (Grady Sutton) be his replacement, so he and his cabal can stage an uprising and dethrone the Czarina. Catherine's chancellor, Nicolai Ilyitch (Charles Coburn), is determined to see to it that nothing disturbs his delicate negotiations for a treaty with France, so he tells his underling Malakoff (Vladimir Sokoloff) he does not want anybody new to see her majesty. However, a determined young officer, Alexei Chernoff (William Eythe), insists on an audience with her for the sake of Russia.
The Eagle The Eagle is a 1925 American silent film directed by Clarence Brown and starring Rudolph Valentino, Vilma Bánky, and Louise Dresser. Based on the posthumously published 1841 novel Dubrovsky by Alexander Pushkin, the film is about a lieutenant in the Russian army who catches the eye of Czarina Catherine II. After he rejects her advances and flees, she puts out a warrant for his arrest, dead or alive. When he learns that his father has been persecuted and killed, he dons a black mask and becomes an outlaw. Prints currently exist in the film holdings of EmGee Film Library and in private film collections.
The Levitsky St. Petersburg studio of the 1890s was a father-son enterprise. Photo cards of this time have the distinctive Levitsky name 'and Son' both written as a signature and printed on their backs. Upon his father's death, Rafail continued the operation and tradition of the Levitsky portrait studio taking the now famous photos of Czar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra and their children Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna of Russia, Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna of Russia, Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna of Russia, Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, and Alexei Nikolaevich, Tsarevich of Russia. So popular were the photos of the Romanovs that they were reproduced individually for public consumption in an "Edition A Bon Marché" by Rafail.
The tribes were concerned about the inability to secure funds that were due them from the government for their coal and asphalt lands. They selected committee representatives, all men save Czarina Conlan for the Choctaw tribe and Ward for the Chickasaw, to draft a solution. The committee met to prepare the recommendations and decided to send Conlan and Ward to Washington, D.C.. It was the first time women had been sent to Washington as tribal representatives for either tribe. The women's task was to argue in favor of passage of a bill proposed by U.S. House Representative Wilburn Cartwright for sale of the coal and asphalt holdings, as well as continuing the restrictions of selling Indian lands.
One of the many yachts built for tycoons in the eastern United States, the steam yachts were used for commuting on rivers in cities such as New York City or Washington, D.C.. They were usually comfortable but fast and were intended to be used for commuting from work to luxurious homes on Long Island or along Chesapeake Bay. The yacht was constructed by Crescent Shipyard in Elizabeth, New Jersey, with the yard number 105 and launched in 1903 as Czarina. The vessel was built for Charles S. Bryan. The vessel was renamed Emeline before being sold to John Eaton in 1908, who again renamed the yacht to Florence, after his wife in 1910.
A classic example is the Fountain of Ahmed III in front of the Topkapı Palace. The famous Flemish- French painter Jean-Baptiste van Mour visited the Ottoman Empire during the Tulip Era and crafted some of the most renowned works of art depicting scenes from daily life in the Ottoman society and the imperial court. The Cambridge History of Turkey: The later Ottoman Empire, 1603–1839, Ed. Suraiya Faroqhi, (Cambridge University Press, 2006), 443. Upon the death of Peter the Great in 1725, Catherine, Peter's wife succeeded to the throne of the Russian Empire as Czarina Catherine I. The Meindorf family established their estate including the castle Barvikha or the castle of Baroness Meyendorf () here in 1904 prior to the Russian revolution of 1917. In 1908 under the Russian ambassador to Denmark, , Baron F. M. Meyendorf became a diplomat with rank as a Russia state advisor (equivalent to a colonel) and became the first secretary of the Russian diplomatic mission to Denmark which was a very esteemed honor because Czar Nicholas II mother, the Czarina Maria Fyodorovna, was born a Danish Princess Dagmar of Denmark. After the outbreak of the Great War the owners of the castle left Russia for abroad. After the October Revolution the castle was occupied by Vladimir Lenin and other Bolshevik leaders.
Rasputin and the Empress is a 1932 American pre-Code film about Imperial Russia starring the Barrymore siblings (John, as "Prince Chegodieff"; Ethel, as Czarina Alexandra; and Lionel Barrymore, as Grigori Rasputin). It is the only film in which all three siblings appear together. The American Film Institute Catalog Features Films: 1931-40 published by The American Film Institute, The AFI Catalog of Feature Films: Rasputin & the Empress The film's inaccurate portrayal of Prince Felix Yusupov and his wife Princess Irina (renamed "Prince Chegodieff" and "Princess Natasha") resulted in a historically significant lawsuit against MGM and gave rise to the "all persons fictitious disclaimer", which has since become standard in Hollywood works of fiction.
From the mid-1960s, after the death of the newpaper's owners, Mario and Vittorio Crespi, and the serious illness of the third brother, Aldo, the ownership of the newspaper passed upon Aldo's daughter, Giulia Maria. Under her tight control (earning her Montanelli's moniker the czarina), the daily took a sudden turn to the left. This new launch took place in 1972 with the abrupt dismissal of director Giovanni Spadolini. Montanelli expressed a cutting indictment of the procedure in an interview on L'espresso, declaring: "A director is not sent away like a thieving domestic" and, turning to the Crespi family, he branded their "authoritarian, bullying junta ways that they have chosen in order to impose their decision".
Amalia Küssner duPont Coudert died of a "lung ailment" at Montreux, Switzerland, in May 1932. Examples of her miniature portraits are in the collections of the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana, and the Cincinnati Art Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to her paintings, Küssner Coudert is remembered for a 1906 article she wrote for Century Magazine about her experience painting Cxar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra of Russia in March 1899. In "The Human Side of the Tsar," the artist describes in significant detail the royal lodgings, her interactions with the royal family and staff, and the process of painting their portraits, providing a rare glimpse into the personal lives of the family.
Keith was a veteran character actor of the legitimate theater, and appeared in a variety of colorful roles in silent features of the 1920s. In 1919, as Keith Ross, he acted with the Copley Repertory Theatre in Boston. On Broadway, as Ian Keith, he performed in The Andersonville Trial (1959), Edwin Booth (1958), Saint Joan (1956), Touchstone (1953), The Leading Lady (1948), A Woman's a Fool - to Be Clever (1938), Robin Landing (1937), King Richard II (1937), Best Sellers (1933), Hangman's Whip (1933), Firebird (1932), Queen Bee (1929), The Command Performance (1928), The Master of the Inn (1925), Laugh, Clown, Laugh! The critical response to "I Made It" was largely positive. It received a nomination for the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award in the BET Awards 2017, losing to Lecrae's 2016 song "Can't Stop Me Now (Destination)". The Boomboxs Amber McKynzie praised Fantasia for sharing her life experiences through the song, and Christian Today's Czarina Ong described "I Made It" as a "victory song" and a "song of success". As part of their album review, an EEWMagazineOnline contributor wrote that the song represents how Fantasia has become: "[a] defiant and determined singer [who] is now playing by her own rules and refusing to be defined by the times, others' expectations, or genres".
At that point, the Russian ambassador to Poland, Jacob Sievers, prevented Littlepage from communicating with the Czarina on behalf of Stanislas but did promise to honor his debt to Littlepage when it became possible. In 1794 Kosciuszko led a bloody insurrection that surprisingly expelled the Russians from Poland for many months. Littlepage joined in the battle to defend Vilna from the Russians. For his service to the Russians in the Black Sea campaign, the Supreme National Council (central civil government of Poland, loyal to the Kościuszko Insurrection) initially accused Littlepage of being a traitor.. Littlepage protested and sought letters from Tadeusz Kosciuszko and from King Stanislas; both strongly supported his loyalty to an independent Poland.
The Załuski Library (, ) was built in Warsaw in 1747–1795 by Józef Andrzej Załuski and his brother, Andrzej Stanisław Załuski, both Roman Catholic bishops. The library was the first Polish public library, the largest library in Poland, and one of the earliest public libraries in Europe. After the Kościuszko Uprising (1794), Russian troops, acting on orders from Czarina Catherine II, seized the library's holdings and transported them to her personal collection at Saint Petersburg, where a year later it formed the cornerstone of the newly founded Imperial Public Library. In the 1920s the government of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic returned some of the former Załuski Library holdings to the recently established Second Polish Republic thanks to the Treaty of Riga.
Louis Bohne first met Mme Clicquot's husband, François Clicquot, in Basel and began working for the Champagne house by peddling orders in England. Due to the saturation of many houses competing for the Champagne market there, Bohne was soon transferred to the relatively untapped market of Russia, Prussia and Austria.Hugh Johnson, Vintage: The Story of Wine (New York: Simon and Schuster 1989), p. 334. . Once there, he was able to successfully integrate himself into the Russian Court and became close personal friends with the Tsar Alexander I and Czarina Elisabeth Alexeievna, which greatly elevated the esteem of Clicquot Champagne within Saint Petersburg.Don and Petie Kladstrup, Champagne: How the World’s Most Glamorous Wine Triumphed Over War and Hard Times (New York: William Morrow, 2005), p. 81. .
Knobs and handles are often formed as animals, and sometimes people.Frick, 5 Like other factories in major capitals, including Meissen, Capodimonte and Buen Retiro in Madrid, Vienna produced a few porcelain rooms for palaces, the only surviving example of which is now installed in the Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna. However, the porcelain here does not cover all the wall space that is not window or mirror, as in other examples, but is a border around the wall-spaces, with matching plaques on the furniture.Lecture on the room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2009 Porcelain was used for diplomatic gifts; the Hermitage Museum retains most of a service made in 1735 for Czarina Anna Ivanovna of Russia, which included more than 40 tureens.

Tensions in Proverbs: More Light on International Understanding. Western Folklore 15.3, pg 153-154 Proverbs that speak to the political disgruntlement include: "When the Czar spits into the soup dish, it fairly bursts with pride"; "If the Czar be a rhymester, woe be to the poets"; and "The hen of the Czarina herself does not lay swan's eggs". While none of these proverbs state directly, "I hate the Czar and detest my situation" (which would have been incredibly dangerous), they do get their points across. Proverbs are found in many parts of the world, but some areas seem to have richer stores of proverbs than others (such as West Africa), while others have hardly any (North and South America) (Mieder 2004b:108,109).
Located in Daniłowiczowski Palace in Warsaw, it was one of the world's finest libraries, with a collection of about 400,000 printed items and manuscripts. After the death of its founders, the Załuski brothers, the newly formed National Education Commission took charge of the library, renaming it the Załuski Brothers Library of the Republic. Twenty years later in 1794, in the aftermath of the second Partition of Poland and Kościuszko Uprising, Russian troops, on orders from Russian Czarina Catherine II, plundered the library and took its collection to Saint Petersburg, where the Imperial Public Library was formed a year later. Załuski was an important member of the Enlightenment in Poland, one of the founders of the Polish Literary Society (Towarzystwo Literatów) in 1765.
In line of changes to its namesake public-affairs television program, the longtime Tambalan series was renamed as Failon Ngayon sa DZMM in September 2011, with Ted Failon anchoring the show alone while carrying over the use of sound effects and concentrating on long-form interviews and field reports as a supplement to the TV show. It also returned to a two-hour runtime, beginning at 8:00 am. By 2012, the program added segment anchor Joey Rebaté for occasional man on the street interviews and later had an added duty distributing ABS-CBN TV Plus digital set-top boxes to lucky listeners upon the service's launch in 2015. In 2013, the program added DJ Chacha (Czarina Balba- Guevarra) of MOR 101.9 as segment anchor for show business and listeners feedback.
She died, unmarried, in 1834, of tuberculosis while at a spa seeking a cure. Historian Karin Feuerstein-Prasser has pointed out, on the basis of evaluations of the correspondence between both fiancées, the different expectations Wilhelm had of both marriages: he wrote to his sister, Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna (Charlotte of Prussia), wife of Czar Nicholas I of Russia, regarding Elisa Radziwill, that "One can love only once in life, really", but confessed regarding Augusta that "the princess is nice and clever, but she leaves me cold." Though Augusta was in love with her future husband and hoped for a happy marriage, theirs was a troubled relationship; Elisa Radziwill was aware of this, and she believed that she herself would have been a better wife to the Prussian prince.
Paul P. Roudakoff, was born to the Russian noblesse ancienne as recorded in the imperial registers of Tver. A morganatic descendant of Catherine the Great, he was orphaned at the time of the Russian Civil War after his father, General, also named Paul Roudakoff, was wounded in battle, and his mother died of typhus five days later. Paul Roudakoff was at school in the elite Corps des Pages, and was evacuated to the banks of the Nile in Egypt with the entire Corps by their patron, King George V of the United Kingdom, who was a first cousin to both Czar Nicholas II, and his Empress, Czarina Alexandra, and who took responsibility for the school after the assassination of his cousins. Journal of Kolia, Paul's fraternal cousin, who also was in the Corps.
Estonia and Latvia had fallen to the Russians under Peter the Great in 1710. After Tsar Peter died in 1725, he was succeeded by his wife Catherine I. Catherine supported the claims of her son-in-law, the Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, both to the throne of Sweden and to his ducal possessions in Holstein, which had remained occupied by Denmark after 1720.Aldridge page 2 ;1726 The Czarina was in Hamburg during May 1726 and planned to return via Riga in June, together with the Duke of Holstein.London Gazette Issue 6481 page 1 dated 28 May 1726 Reports reached Stockholm on 1 June that "The Czarina's Court was under the greatest Uneasiness and Consternation at the News of the British Fleet's advancing that Way", and had immediately given Orders for reinforcing the garrisons of Wibourg, Cronflot, Reval, and Riga.
Titles are traditionally based upon those used by European nobility (especially the British Peerage) but nothing prohibits the creation of titles such as Czarina, Raja or Sultan and these are sometimes used as well. Noble titles are ranked according to an order of precedence so that, for example, a member who has been created a duke takes precedence over a member who has been created a countess. The main effect of this hierarchy involves the order that members are introduced during "protocol", a ceremonial procedure endemic to the Imperial Court in which courts are presented with courtiers titles read by the master of ceremonies as members approach the presiding monarchs of the coronation. This bit of pageantry, which is typically reserved for coronations and similar large events, gives Imperial Court members an opportunity to display their titles as well as costumes to the assembled crowd.
Czarina Valerie A. Regis and Allan B. de Guzman, authors of "A system within a system: the Philippine schools overseas," wrote that Philippine overseas schools (PSO) based in Saudi Arabia, "the PSJ may be cited as the richest source of learning experiences in PSO management" due to both its successes and failures. Francis R. Salud of Arab News wrote in 2005 that there had been "perennial infighting among parents for control of the school". Regis and Guzman reported that their "futile interventions by Philippine officialdom" as well as violent incidents and mismanagement, and that three Philippine consul generals had their careers affected by these issues; therefore PSJ became well known for these negative traits and its "chaotic history". Due to the history of the PSJ, there were rules and regulations governing Philippine international schools and the establishment of the Inter-Agency Committee for PSOs (IAC-PSO).
