The T.O.N.T.O. ("The Original New Timbral Orchestra") in use by Tonto's Expanding Head Band on "Cybernaut" was actually built in a futuristic style.

The deal was launched in August last year and has attracted lenders, but closing is on hold because of developments relating to some of the members of the consortium, which includes Beijing HBH Innovation Industry Fund Management, Cybernaut Investment Group and MMI management, as well as minority investors.

Steed attempts to phone Mrs Peel to warn her but, before the Cybernaut arrives, she leaves her flat to look for him at United Automation as Steed has not returned at the pre-arranged time. Steed is then attacked by another Cybernaut in the factory and presented to Armstrong. Mrs Peel arrives at Armstrong's factory, with the Cybernaut still following the pen she carries. Steed escapes and enters the warehouse room in which the Cybernaut has cornered Mrs Peel, and tells Mrs Peel to throw him the pen.

Another Cybernaut (the first with a "brain of its own") arrives with Armstrong. Steed plants the pen on the second Cybernaut and they attack each other and accidentally kill Armstrong as he attempts to stop his robots. Roger, the first Cybernaut, then destroys the other by smashing its "brain" out of its head and destroys the pen. Having completed its mission it becomes inert, and Mrs.

Steed revisits United Automation, this time covertly, and discovers that Armstrong has been using a robot Cybernaut named Roger to kill off his rivals for the Tusamo concession. The Cybernaut is programmed via computer to home in on a radio transmitter concealed in the gadget pen given to Steed – the same method used to kill Hammond, Lambert and Jephcott. But Steed's pen is in the possession of Mrs Peel, so the Cybernaut will attack her rather than Steed. Dr. Armstrong discovers Steed is an intruder in the building when the thermostat in the factory is altered.

On May 19, 2000, Nexus released their debut album titled 6 and fans were witness to a bold move by Nexus: unlike albums of The Flowers Of Romance, 6 was entirely in Greek. On the same day of 6’s release, Nexus opened for world-famous The Mission in Thessaloniki after being invited to play by The Mission’s frontman Wayne Hussey, who was instrumental in the success of The Flowers Of Romance’s final album. February 28, 2001 saw the release of Nexus’s second album, Cybernaut. Nexus reverted to English-language songs with Cybernaut, and this proved to be a wise decision, as Cybernaut was possibly Nexus’s most well- received album by media and fans in both Greece and abroad. Cybernaut had a wider European release than any Mike Pougounas-band album since the Flowers Of Romance’s Brilliant Mistakes, and even saw limited release in the United States.

When Cecil played two of the completed tracks, "Cybernaut" and "Aurora", to his friend Herbie Mann, the latter offered them a record contract with his label Embryo Records. Titling the album Zero Time, they adopted the band name Tonto's Expanding Head Band, a reflection of the psychedelic culture that Cecil and Margouleff felt part of. As Cecil later explained, part of the idea for launching the Expanding Head Band was that the duo were going to begin creating a track which would then be added to by other synthesists individually, but this plan nonetheless fell through as the tape never left the duo's studio.

" Although the album is almost entirely instrumental, "Riversong" features vocals credited to TONTO which were processed through the machine until they resemble "deeply synthesised signals" more than vocals. The influence of science fiction is also present on the album, as is evident by the titles of "Cybernaut", "Jetsex" and "Aurora". The great bell of the Great Lavra Bell Tower was simulated on the album using an analysis by Hermann von Helmholtz. Side one of Zero Time is subtitled "Outside" and contains shorter, more rhythmic material than the second side; Cecil, who is a bass player, felt the rhythmic emphasis was because rhythms are "part of my stock in trade.
