His 70-minute score for the feature film Transition (released in 2000) was also BAFTA nominated for best soundtrack.

Donald Shaw, (born 1967) is a Scottish musician, composer, producer, and one of the founding members of the group Capercaillie. Shaw has composed for film and TV. In 2002, he won two Royal Television Society (RTS) awards for Best Soundtrack and Best Theme in UK television for the drama Crowdie and Cream. His score for the film Transition (released in 2000) was BAFTA nominated for best soundtrack. In 2004, he composed Harvest, a commission for the opening night of Celtic Connections festival.

Brose is a Scots word for an uncooked form of porridge: oatmeal (and/or other meals) is mixed with boiling water (or stock) and allowed to stand for a short time. It is eaten with salt and butter, milk or buttermilk. A version of brose is called crowdie, made with ground oats and cold water, though that term is more often used for a type of cheese. Brose is generally denser and more sustaining than porridge, and is best made with medium or coarse oatmeal - not rolled (flattened) "porage oats".

Historically, it was a cheese for the wealthy, unlike the similarly-aged Crowdie, which is made from the by-products of skimming cream from milk and thus is considered a poor man's cheese. Caboc is Scotland's oldest cheese, dating from the 15th century in the Scottish Highlands. The cheese was first made by Mariota de Ile, the daughter of the chieftain of the Clan MacDonald of the Isles. At 12 years old, Mariota was in danger of being abducted by the Clan Campbell, who planned to marry her to one of their own and seize her lands.

Kim received his masters from the UNCSA School of the Arts and his Bachelor of Recording Arts from the Southern Cross University of Australia. He studied under veteran composers such as Emmy-award winner Hummie Mann, David McHugh (Mystic Pizza), Sir Prof. Clive Pascoe (student of Leonard Bernstein) and Jack Smalley (Charlie's Angels, The Last of the Mohicans).
