General McLane School District is a school district located in Erie County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It comprises the townships of Franklin, McKean, and Washington; the boroughs of McKean and Edinboro, are located in McKean and Washington townships, respectively. In January 2012, the Districts was audited again. Several significant findings were reported to the Board including that the Administration spent $55,445 to place an assistant superintendent on administrative leave for 6 months prior to terminating her employment effective June 30, 2010. The Assistant Superintendent had already submitted a letter of resignation effective June 30, 2010. The District also paid her a retirement bonus of over $9,500. Per pupil spending In 2008, Cumberland Valley School District reported spending $12,902 per pupil which ranked 184th among 500 Pennsylvania school districts. The district's low student spending coupled with high academic achievement was lauded by the state's Costing Out Study in 2007. By 2010, the District's per pupil spending had increased to $12,633.80. This ranked 338th among the Commonwealth's 500 public school districts. Among the states, Pennsylvania's total per pupil revenue (including all sources) ranked 11th at $15,023 per student, in 2008-09. In 2007, the Pennsylvania per pupil total expenditures was $12,759.
