In 1984–1990, was the secretary of Kaunas Architects' Union. In 1990–1992, was a director of Lithuanian national television. From 1993, he is a director in the architecture company Jungtinės pajėgos. Kaušpėdas constructed dwelling houses in Lithuania, Germany, Denmark, Norway.

The Island was originally part of the municipality of Zumarraga, Samar, and mostly inhabited by a few fisher-folk and travelers from other places whose primary source of income was fishing and farming. As the years passed Daram began to grow in population and economic activities through settlers and travelers who constructed dwelling units sporadically along the coastlines of the islands.

Ethel Coal Company, formed in 1906, operated No. 1 and No. 2 mines from 1907 to 1916 in Ethel Hollow. Between 1907 and 1916, the company constructed dwelling houses in Ethel Hollow. The company built the Ethel No. 1 Company Store; its ruins are visible today. During this time, about 1914, Italian stonemasons constructed the Ethel Coal Company Supply Building, one of the town's few remaining landmarks.

Cedar Park is a historic home at Galesville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It was originally constructed in 1702 as a -story post-in-the- ground structure, with hand-hewn timbers and riven clapboards and chimneys at either end, the earliest surviving earthfast constructed dwelling in Maryland and Virginia. Later additions and modifications, in 1736 and in the early 19th century, resulted in the brick structure of today. Also on the property is a frame tenant house or slave quarters of the mid-19th century.

Most often they were two stories, but there are also examples of one story cottages with room for two families. The well-constructed dwelling houses, often lavishly designed with profiled roof-bases, elegantly profiled joinery work around windows and beautifully decorated doorways, mainly represent the construction style of the 19th century, but there are also older farms with low, unpainted houses built in a square shape around the yard, as well as start-of-the-20th-century buildings with rich ”carpenters joy” and large porches.

All these features are highly unusual in a wattle and daub constructed dwelling. The construction methods are well demonstrated despite deterioration, with the timber posts placed 400–600 mm apart, crossed with lathe and infilled with mud and stone . The timbers for the dwelling were milled from timber on the property and the mud was obtained from a nearby gulley. The walls were rendered with lime plaster, concealing the framework and mud infill and giving the dwelling a less primitive appearance than many homes constructed using similar techniques and materials.

4th century), often referred to as "Antony the Great", is perhaps the most renowned of all the very early Christian hermits owing to the biography by Athanasius of Alexandria. An antecedent for Egyptian eremiticism may have been the Syrian solitary or "son of the covenant" (Aramaic bar qəyāmā) who undertook special disciplines as a Christian. Christian hermits in the past have often lived in isolated cells or hermitages, whether a natural cave or a constructed dwelling, situated in the desert or the forest. People sometimes sought them out for spiritual advice and counsel.

British palaeoanthropologist Mary Leakey suggested the rock piles were used to support poles stuck into the ground, possibly to support a windbreak or a rough hut. Some modern day nomadic tribes build similar low-lying rock walls to build temporary shelters upon, bending upright branches as poles and using grasses or animal hide as a screen. Dating to 1.75 Mya, it is the oldest claimed evidence of architecture. In Europe, evidence of constructed dwelling structures dating to or following the Holstein Interglacial (which began 424 kya) has been claimed in Bilzingsleben, Germany; Terra Amata, France; and Fermanville and Saint-Germain-des-Vaux in Normandy.

This presence must manifest itself in acts of occupation that could reasonably be interpreted as demonstrating that the land in question belonged to, was controlled by, or was under the exclusive stewardship of the claimant group. It is imperative that the notion of occupation reflects the specific way of life of the Aboriginal group asserting title. "The kinds of acts necessary to indicate a permanent presence and intention to hold and use the land for the group’s purposes are dependent on the manner of life of the people and the nature of the land". It has been clearly established that cultivated fields, constructed dwelling houses, invested labour, and a consistent presence on parts of the land are not essential to establish occupation.
